Levi Johnston has "lawyered up"! Oh it is on now!

Levi Johnston's lawyer is bristling at suggestions from Gov. Sarah Palin's family that the 19-year-old is a deadbeat dad. "I wish that Sarah Palin's father would get his facts correct, quite frankly," attorney Rex Butler said Wednesday.

Palin's father, Chuck Heath, claims in a story being published Friday in Us Weekly magazine that the unemployed Johnston isn't financially supporting the infant. He said he wishes Johnston would take some money from the interviews and buy diapers for Tripp.

Butler told The Associated Press that Johnston was not paid for the interviews and is tired of the Palin family's characterization of his client.

Heath was "trying to make the young man look like a deadbeat father, and, you know, they may have a rude awakening one day if he tries to get custody," Butler said.

"They don't want to share his child with him like they should," he said.

I kid you not that I already kind of figured out that Mr. Butler was probably going to be representing Levi since he is already representing his mom Sherry Johnston.

I even tried to call his office last week, but the message said his mailbox was full.

So now I am going to have to go and visit Mr. Butlers office and find out if he needs any financial help. He is a lawyer so I am going to assume the answer is "yes". If it is then I am going to get some help setting up a paypal account and we will see if we cannot get Levi all of the help he needs to see his little boy.

And who knows he may be so grateful that he would be willing to talk to a certain Alaska blogger about some lingering questions surrounding the birth of Tripp, and little TriggyBear.

Stay tuned for further updates.

  1. Wow. I mean...WOW. If that didn't send a bolt of lightening down Sarah's spine, there likely isn't much that will.

Gryphen, I have to say it's quite endearing to see you a little protective of Levi. I know you'd have us believe you're just gunning for an interview. But I think you're offering this kid something you should have had in your own fight: An Advocate.

Way to pay it forward, my friend.

  4. Kind of interesting that this story has developed while Mrs. Palin is on a plane traveling to her "don't kill fetus's" party down in Indiana.

I wrote earlier today on an ADN story that I felt that Sarah Palin was going to come home to a much different state than the one that she has left.

I was only referring to the WAR appt and the illegalities surrounding her latest go-around w/the Juneau senate seat. Little did I know that this would be transpiring w/Levi and Butler.

Wow, I hope that everyone involved will be okay with what is required to be exposed regarding Levi's paternity of Tripp. I wish the best for both Trig and Tripp. I somehow think that this might get really ugly for all parties involved.

It could have been shut down with the issuance of a birth certificate for Trig. I guess we'll find out soon why Palin was so hesitant to provide one to the media.

A now defunct palin pregnancy website shut down last week because the owner said that he got inside information that made it too unpalatable for him to continue to pursue the issue of the paternity/maternity either child.

I thought that he was just a "rabble rouser" until Levi went public and this issue became escalated again. Now I'm unsure of what may be the outcome from an intensive investigation into the paternity of Tripp, not to mention ancillary findings on the maternity/paternity of Trig.

It's gotten so ugly and I just hope that both children will be able to come to terms with the ugliness that surrounded their beginnings.

Is Jerry Springer buying a house in the Valley now?

Rex is way expensive. He also likes a show. The Johnstons were classy on Tyra, but this? Rex? I don't know if I will be able to stand the news.

Butler also suggested Johnston and Bristol Palin would likely still have a relationship if the families would stay out of it.

Palin family spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton responded in an e-mail to the AP by saying, "Bristol is focused on college, advocating abstinence and raising Tripp."

I was pretty disappointed when alaskansfor Truth returned my small donation to their cause becuse it turns out accepting foreign money would have legal ramifications for them.

But - Ican't imagine the same legalities existing for a fund to help Levi get legal assistance so - if you cn get a PayPal account set up - I'm there :)

PS - what am I doing wrong btw - Since the first time it accepted my ozmud wordpress ident, it has rejected it every time since - rofl - I love technology but it often hates me.

It is so easy to criticize. And there is a time and place for it. But the time and place is not your grandchild's father and NOT in a well read magazine(is it, never read it).

It would be nicer if the grandfather helped the kid get a job so he could help with the finances.

Why is OK for Palin's family to talk with a magazine, but not OK for the Johnston family?

Seeing is roughtly 80% of people surveyed across the country believe Levi, this shoudl be a win.

I think Rex knows alot more than he is admitting right now...

  14. Which "defunct palin pregnancy website" shut down? Does anyone know the person who ran the site - and if so, perhaps the info. could be passed on someone who handle getting the truth out there - such as Aurdrey from Palin's Deception.

  15. Wow! I am with you Gryphen, I always thought that Rex Butler was behind the Johnston's public appearances. I also believe that Rex know more than he's saying.

    AKPetMom,

What website are you referencing with the below comment? Interesting...

What I love about Grandpa Heath's comments is that not only has it been said Levi has not gotten compensated for these appearances, Levi at one point DID have a job- one he can thank his daughter for Levi losing. It was because Palin made such a big deal about the kids not being high school dropouts, and "Levi's working on the slope" that it was discovered that he wasn't qualified for the job. Was it right that he had that job? No, not really. Was he the only one in that situation? Probably not, and had Miss Sarah kept her mouth shut, he might still have a job and be earning money with which he could help pay for diapers. These people never learn- keep your mouth shut. Of course, that helps our cause, so even as annoying as she (they?) are, I'm all for it continuing.

"Defunct palin pregnancy website"---I think the poster is referring to 'palindeception2.blogspot.com'----which was in actuallity a website mocking the work of palindeception and anyone else who questions who Trig's bio parents are.

The guy, IMO, just got bored with it all because the couple times I checked in on there, he was getting slammed left and right by people making cogent arguments, whereas he engaged in childish name-calling.

I would doubt the "inside info" excuse.

PS Whooo hooooo on Mr. Butler taking on the Queen!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Of course Sarah 'outed' Levi's job on the slope, no income - no custody?

They never should've voted Levi off the island.

  21. This is wonderful news for Levi. I think he will be surprised at the support and funds that will pour in. I am ready. I hope he gets a book deal too - a win-win for himself and his son. For GINO? not-so-much.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'm really glad to hear that Levi is getting legal help. Custody issues are difficult for anyone, much less for an 18 year old kid going against the governor's family. And, I'm happy to hear that you are planning to see if Levi needs financial help to pay his attorney.

I love your joke about finding out if Rex needs any financial help and since he is a lawyer you assume the answer is "yes". Your timing and wording was great. As an attorney, I see both sides of the financial situation.

    Way to go, Team Levi!

I too would be classified as foreign being that I'm not a US citizen, but would gladly donate to the Levi fund. As Levi is not in an elected or appointed position, I do not see this as any problem as he is just an Alaskan citizen.

Looking forward to your advising future details of paypal acccount on behalf of Levi.

Thank you Mr. Butler for stepping in to protect the legal interests of Levi and his son. I like many others, am tired of Palin's machine believing they can throw people under the bus without paying the consequences for doing so. In fact, I hope you are able to also address the issues of her staff and family attempting to destroy Levi's reputation. Might we have additional law suits against Palin, her father and State staff like Stapleton?? There's a few I would truly like to see!!

Thank you Gryphen for staying on the case - and I also would be happy to donate to Levi's legal fund. Hell, just for standing up to the Palins and fighting for access to HIS child (which they refuse to give him) means the kid should get a medal of honor. What 18 year old dads do that in this day and age? He's trying to do the right thing and I support him 1000% percent.

I have $50 to donate! I knew the Palins would go for character assasination. That's just how they roll. Hang in there Levi. You have as much right to parent your child as Bristol. They are ruthless, but not that bright. I see chinks in their armor and like a post I read, "the wheels are falling off the bus."

Levi then went to California the following weekend to coach the Alaskan Special Olympic hockey team. Did you see him in a tabloid spread? No you did not. Did you see him on the nightly news mugging for the cameras, no you did not. The guy is sincere. He is real. He is not Hollywood."

I'm guessing that one of the first things that a lawyer would do would be to insist on a DNA test to make sure that Levi has parental rights to the latest baby, Tripp. What we need to do (shh, don't tell anyone) is start a rumor campaign that Levi is also the father of baby Trigg. That way, the Johnston family can insist that a DNA test be done regarding Levi and Trigg. Finally, Palin's Deceptions and all of the others will be able to get the results they are looking for.

Sorry to mention it but yes it was the PD2 ('palindeception2.blogspot.com) blog. The guy went by the name Thomas but people at PD always suspected he or she was the dreaded BlueTx poster that stirred up crap and then left the PD site.

Yes, he/she did a bit of mocking the folks on PD because he/she wasn't always agreed w/over there, but I still think that somewhere in all of his/her mocking there was some knowledge of the situation. Maybe???? Still don't know what to think but I did a screen grab of his/her last post and the text is at the bottom of this comment for what it's worth. (don't beat me up, please, it's not as if I agreed w/this person I just think there could be something there in this last statement)

I guess I'd like to believe that there is an answer to the Trig maternity/paternity mystery somewhere close to the surface. Since this whole thing got started I've personally believed that the answer to this question might be a bit "unsavory". I still think that CBJ (Cathy Baldwin Johnson), being a child abuse specialist first and ob-gyn second might be very telling.

There are scenarios that are not allowed to be discussed at PD. I've always felt that the truth may very well be hard to swallow for certain "delicate" souls. Nothing against Audrey at PD, she keeps the website very professional by not allowing speculation on these darker scenarios, but I think this could get "yicky".

Anyway, here's the last post of PD2:
    **************************************************
    Oh crap!
I have been given some private information, that explains it all.
I now know the reason that Bristol accepts the accusation that she is Triggs mother, and why the Palins all allow people to believe that she is. I now know why the media has backed off this story completely. The truth is more gruesome than it is for people to believe this lie.
I will no longer contribute to the discussion of Bristol not being Triggs
    mother.
This blog will be completely gone by the end of the day.
    Thanks

  36. I, too, don't know if AKPetMom was referring to "a site by a professional photographer who was in the process of careful examination of the photos available of the Palin family was shut down because of threats" -- but THAT site was shut down by the owner, and she destroyed all her investigative pix back in December or January because she received a threat to her and her family placed on her car windshield.

I coined the term "Paleones, the Wasilla Mafia" to describe the Palins based on that incident.

Unfortunately I don't believe more than 2 or 3 of her investigative photos were archived by anyone else. But what WAS saved are an integral part of the Palin Deception investigation, which fortunately HASN'T been shut down.

Make sure the paternity test is being supervised and/or done at a neutral place - no hanky-panky for the palins! And: do both kids, just for good measure (that is, if Levi wants to claim Trig, too - but I understand that the costs for upkeep of that little DS tyke would be prohibitive for a teenager...)
