Senate Democrats reject Dorfy!

(Sarah Palin's face when she heard the news.)

The Alaska Senate Democrats this afternoon rejected Gov. Sarah Palin's appointment of legislative aide Tim Grussendorf to the state Senate.

The decision came during a two-hour closed door meeting in the office of Majority Leader Johnny Ellis, an Anchorage Democrat. The Democrats wouldn't say which senators opposed Grussendorf's appointment, or even how many. "At the end of the day, after a very sober discussion and consideration there was not enough support to seat Mr. Grussendorf," Ellis said.

The other Democrats refused to talk about it afterward, referring all questions to Ellis. The governor has no immediate response to the rejection of her appointee.

Good-bye Dorfy! Don't let that old door hit you in the ass on the way out.

Well I am proud of the Senate Democrats for showing a little backbone.

However they still have a long way to go to show that they really care about the citizens of Alaska. Especially those who dare to speak out against the injustices and criminality running rampant through our state.

You know who you are, and you know what I am talking about.

If only the entire legislature would start defying Palin when it is justified- including on her proposed rejection of stimulus monies for education and other no-strings-attached funds.

  12. I am very sorry to have been a part of fooling you. All I can say is that I was tricked as well, so we are in the same bucket.

Enigma called me last night when she realized what had happened and asked me to remove her comments before anybody read them but the damage had been done before I cold do so.

But like I told Enigma., pretty soon Franken will emerge victorious so we can just put her comments down as prescience.

    Palin is going on vacation

    http://thinkprogress.org/2009/04/01/palin-fundraiser-life/

Although she is ‘focused on Alaska,’ Palin still agrees to attend a Right to Life fundraiser in Indiana.

Earlier this month, the top congressional GOP fundraising committees issued a press release announcing that Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) would deliver the keynote address at their annual fundraising dinner. The groups eventually had to backtrack when Palin’s staff claimed that the governor had never made such a commitment because she was too busy with Alaska state business. However, First Read now reports that Palin is still planning to attend a Right to Life fundraiser in Indiana on April 16:

On April 16, Palin will be attending the Vanderburgh County Right to Life dinner in Evansville, IN, as well as a breakfast the next day for S.M.I.L.E., a nonprofit organization for people with family members who have Down syndrome. Palin’s spokeswoman, Meg Stapleton, said Palin will be taking a “36-hour vacation” to attend the events in Indiana. Palin’s political action committee will pay for the travel. […]

Stapleton said Palin would not agree to political events until after April 20, when the Alaska legislative session ends. “She is focused on Alaska,” Stapleton said today. […] Stapleton could not explain why Palin would say yes to a political event in Indiana and not attend a political event in Washington.

So she can go somewhere during the session- in fact take a vacation right near the end when her presence is needed- and not take one in June?

What am I missing besides the truth and common sense?

    You are not missing anything.

There was a movie a few years ago that explains it"

And as someone reminded me elsewhere...

"She's attending "Seward's Day" in Auburn, New York on June 6. The father of Meg Stapleton (her PAC administrator/PR) set this up.

So, what's in New York that isn't at the GOP dinner, two days later?
    ...hmmm...lemme think...money?"

So...she can confirm a SarahPAC-paid political event in both April and June in Indiana and NY, respectively, before the session is over, but can't confirm a SarahPAC-paid political event in DC in June before the session is over.

Stapleton's story is getting weirder and weirder (or perhaps I should say the lie gets bigger and bigger).

I hope Defenders of Wildlife is still going to air the new video of GINO's "wildlife Management" while she is there. That was the plan the last communication I received from them.
