Todd Palin’s half-sister was arrested Thursday after police say she broke into a Wasilla home for the second time this week to steal money.
Palin is the husband of Gov. Sarah Palin. He declined comment.
Diana Palin, 35, entered a home near Wasilla’s Multi-Use Sports Complex and attempted to steal cash from the owner’s bedroom, police said.
She also broke into the same house on Tuesday and stole $400, they said.
She was arrested Thursday morning on felony charges of first-degree burglary and misdemeanor charges of criminal trespass and theft, police said. Friday morning, she remained jailed at Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer in lieu of $10,000 bail and court-approved third party custodian.
Diana and her husband, Scott McLean, live in a different neighborhood from the location of the home she is accused of burglarizing.
McLean said Friday he didn’t recognize the street where his wife was arrested and had no idea why she might do what police say she did. McLean described Diana Palin as a stay-at-home mom who takes good care of their two young children.
McLean said he got a call Thursday around 10:30 a.m. from police, asking him to come pick up their 4-year-old daughter, and has heard nothing since.
Let's do a quick summation shall we?
Pregnant unwed daughter.
Rumor that eldest son joined the military to escape charges of vandalism.
Mother of daughter's boyfriend charged with selling drugs.
And now husband's half sister is arrested for burglarizing a Wasilla home.....twice.
Yep I would say that the Governor's family has "class" written all over them.
Update: Now we know how the police know Diana Palin burglarized the house both times.
The four year old ratted her out. Leave it to the kids to bring the Palin family down.
With Johnson out of the dealing business, it appears Palin's new source is charging more.
ReplyDeletedon't people usually break into houses and take quick cash or high-value pawnable items when they're desperately in need of money for drugs or gambling addictions?
ReplyDeletewhat would motivate a married mom of young kids to rob a house (twice) unless she was desperate about something? how very strange.
Gryphen,
ReplyDeleteWe can say with some certainty that this has, overall, NOT been a good week for Sarah Palin.
And also.
GINO needs to resign as governor and the entire clan could be a raging soap opera. Let's change the first two letters to "tr" then add the "ass" and you got trash with a capital T!
ReplyDeleteDon't forget, Bristol is a teenage single mother who is also a dropout.
ReplyDeleteYup. Classy.
You're a little late, April 1 was the other day. Oh, no, it's the Governor of Alaska's wacky family, next in line for a TV reality show or an appearance on Jerry Springer! You left off the coming appearance of Levi Johnston, poster boy for unwed teenagers (can I use the word dropout?)being quoted in People Magazine and on the Tyra Banks show. What do they have in the water up there in Alaska, and does everyone drink it or only a select few2??
ReplyDeleteI am no fan of the Palins, and Sarah doesn't belong anywhere near the Whitehouse, but honestly, if was to be held accountable for everything my brothers and sister did? Yikes! You really can't fault Todd for this.
ReplyDeleteHow odd. The same house? Twice?
ReplyDeleteI can't help but think that even if her husband is unfamiliar with the street that Diana is very familiar with the house.
Smells like drugs...
ReplyDeleteOverheard on the 3rd Floor of the Capitol:
ReplyDelete"Governor? Jerry Springer's on line one!"
As you might suspect, the Palinistas aren't saying anything about THIS new chapter in Palin Ethics, even though they were practically bending over backwards like gymnasts to "approve" the revelations of Bristol's sexual escapades with Levi under Sarah Palin's "watchful" eye...
ReplyDeleteHow very sad for the family and especially for their children.
ReplyDeleteI find it odd that her husband said "McLean said he got a call Thursday around 10:30 a.m. from police, asking him to come pick up their 4-year-old daughter, and has heard nothing since." Does this mean he has made no attempt to even speak with his wife, or her attorney? "Heard nothing"?
Wonder whose house it was.
Geez everyday something new and Levi talking to Tyra on Monday....I can see fireworks in Alaska from my house!
ReplyDeleteKajo, What do you mean "under Sarah Palin's watchful eye"? I've heard rumors that Sarah watched the two of them but are you suggesting that she was watching while they were actually doing it in Bristol's bedroom?
ReplyDeleteAnd the Palin attack machine revs it's engine...
ReplyDeletePalin family spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton said Bristol Palin was unaware Johnston would be appearing on "The Tyra Banks Show," along with his mother, Sherry, and sister, Mercede.
"We're disappointed that Levi and his family, in a quest for fame, attention and fortune, are engaging in flat-out lies, gross exaggeration, and even distortion of their relationship," Stapleton said in a statement Friday.

Vengeance thy name is woman.
I just had a thought -- the story says Diana Palin "entered a home near Wasilla’s Multi-Use Sports Complex" and that her husband "said Friday he didn’t recognize the street where his wife was arrested and had no idea why she might do what police say she did."
ReplyDeleteHmm. Do you suppose....?
She thought she was breaking into the Todd/Sarah Palin residence! Since we all know that the Gov. and her family live quite close to that Sports Complex...
Interesting that hubby didn't recognize the street. Does that mean that they've never been invited to the Gov's house, or that he EXPECTED his wife to be found at the Gov's house instead of the house she entered?

Poor Diana took her kid with her?
ReplyDeletePoor Diana took her kid with her?
ReplyDeleteImagine the dinner table conversation!
So, IceFloe, what did you and Mommy do today?
We robbed another house, Daddy!

ReplyDeleteAt least it looks like Diana Palin was not (allegedly) robbing the Palin compound.
according to the kos link above, diana p took about $2500 cash between the 2 robberies.
ReplyDeleteif that's true, it's hardcore! why couldn't she and hubby just get a loan from SP and todd if they couldn't make the mortgage or something? either they're on bad terms with the winky, or she needed that money for something she couldn't admit to....
and how would she know the cash was in the house of a man her hubby claimed not to be familiar with?
wow, between this and tyra SP and fam will be all over the gossip blogs (and legit news) by tuesday!
and taking her 4 year old to both robberies, in a state where everyone is armed (directly referenced in the kos bit) that's definitely child endangerment!
this is beyond soap opera, it's like tele-novella now!
and the kos bit matches the ADN info.
ReplyDeletebreaking and entering, stealing about 2 grand (2200-400=1800, plus "all but 9" of the remainder=2191), and putting your 4 year old at risk of getting shot by the homeowner...
i agree that people shouldn't be judged by the behavior of their siblings, but SP is all about "christian family values" so this is kinda fair game.
and kinda crazy!
Palin is a public servant. Yeah, they have crazy familia like everyone. No, Palin is not responsible for all the familia.
ReplyDeleteThe Palins have a long history of dysfunction.
There are levels. The Palin familia were accused of something ominous by in a court during the familia squawk for her sister the Wooten. It was abuse. It is the pattern that matters now.
This will all reflect on the corruption in Alaska.
Of course she took the kid! Sitters are expensive and lil Piper's back in school!
ReplyDeleteThe four year old is the only one that makes any sense, she told it like it is. The husband didn't even know his wife needed cash. Do Alaskans ever consider that children sometimes do need the protection of social services?
ReplyDeletePlease research Alaska Court View and plug in "Palin"
ReplyDeleteApparently Diana Palin has filed different domestic violence abuse claims against two different men, one of whom appears to have been married to her at one time.
I think picking abusive relationships links back to her childhood upbringing and I have to wonder if this relates to Todd's upbringing in any way.
Apparently Diana has had at least 2 abusive relationships and one previous marriage. Is she on drugs and robbing for drug money? Is SherryJohnston her supplier? What is she doing taking a 4 yr old along?
One more "hill billy" in Palin's immediate family.
Remember this is the family Palin married into and every saddist needs it's machosist and vice versa. Water seeks it's own level.
I FEAR FOR LEVI'S SAFETY, BOTH PHYSICALLY AND FOR HIS CONTACT WITH HIS SON. HE CAN DROP A DIME ON PALIN AND BE HER TOTAL UNDOING.
So can Talis Colberg.
They need to watch their backs very carefully as Palin is getting desperate with so much bad feedback nationwide --much in just the last 4-5 days.
Palin is a very sick woman.
onejrkitty, Good job. That is quiet a history. As I understand Wasilla is known for drugs and all the abuses that go along with them. No one wants to talk about it, they will long suffer and die from their toxic lives first. You don't have to use drugs to be a victim of the fallout.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't the people in Wasilla have their pitchforks out to demand answers for that small girl that was with her mother as she stole cash?
What is wrong with the police? It's a big deal to charge her for $2,500 but the child is meaningless to the police? Why?
I find taking the child with her a thousand times more offensive then taking money.
Why isn't the public coming to the aid of that child? Someone should demand answers, why wasn't Diana Palin charged with endangering a child right away? While I can feel sorry for a small time thief or addict, when children are involved that is a whole other ball game. The whole community needs to get off their butts and stand strong for what is happening to the children of Wasilla. I've read some of the their Myspace and have a feel for what parents accept for their teens.
The cycle of abuse, those things do run in families. It is hard to know the dynamics but something is prevalent. Also Bristol is the first known unwed mother in the family, but I've heard both Sarah and her mother were pregnant before marriage. That is another negative pattern.
I am sad to see all of Wasilla is neglecting that one little girl. She is not the only child they ignore. The landscape must be beautiful but the cold cruel hearts of adults too preoccupied to stand up for the youngest victims is ugly.
