A few years ago I came to believe that I had a fan who was a writer for the Daily Show. This was because there were a few times when Jon Stewart would do bits that were strangely similar to something I had written. I have no problem with this, if in fact it happened, because I LOVE the Daily Show.
Anyhow you can read my post from Saturday and tell me if it is just a coincidence that we came to the same conclusions, or if I am actually a lucky contributor to the Daily Show.
And oh my God this next segment absolutely slayed me. The banter between Jon Stewart and John Oliver is hysterical!
The beginning of the show last night and the night before were brilliant, BUT I changed the channel later because I will not listen to Gingrich and Elizabeth Edwards just creeps me out now. It's bathos, maudlin and full of BS. I used to respect John Edwards but no more.
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike. Thanks for the links—I'm getting too old to stay up late enough to watch. I did, however, immediately upon hearing Michael Steele's latest bit of brilliance, think the same thing—that apparently employers should only hire certifiablyinfertile, confirmed widows/widowers who've been turned down as adoptees. What a moron.
ReplyDeleteOh jeez, John Oliver in Scamalot is totally hilarious. I'd seen this when it aired but by the time The Daily Show comes on I'm often tuckered out and less than coherent, so the re-run was fantastic.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm not even British!
