An outspoken Clinton supporter during the Democratic primary who switched his allegiance to the GOP ticket for the general election, Coale made his case to Palin at the Iron Dog snowmachine competition in Fairbanks, where Todd Palin was competing over Valentine’s Day weekend. His broader aim, say Palin camp insiders, was to help Palin develop a relationship with the former first family that he thought could bolster the polarizing governor’s standing with Democrats and independents.
Palin was amenable to getting acquainted with the Clintons but was skeptical of using her PAC to help the former first lady.
She expressed concern to aides about Coale’s request that weekend and a few days later directed Meg Stapleton, an Alaska-based campaign aide, to tell Coale that she would not help retire Clinton’s debt.
Methinks that Mr. Coale does not understand our Governor very well. And that is why she set her rabid attack spokesperson Meghan Stapletongue on him.
Sarah Palin does not do anything for anybody else without an absolute guarantee of double the return on her investment or to get the bloggers and media types to shut up about her not caring about something she should have done but did not do. You know like save a village full of people, or accept Federal stimulus money, or show us "proof" that a baby could not belong to her daughter.
As much as John Coale may have wanted to get his two favorite political crushes together as one big happy dysfunctional family, it simply was never going to happen. For one thing Sarah Palin does not share the limelight with ANYBODY that she cannot sling over one arm and carry across the stage with her, and for another thing Hillary Clinton is much too politically savvy to allow the trainwreck that is Sarah Palin anywhere near her!
If this is the guy giving Sarah Palin political advice than she her career is all but over.
LOL! I cannot believe that Coale actually would have considered something like that! (Where did you get that little tidbit from?) He should have known that GINO is wedded to $$$$$ and power, and will not cede either one!
ReplyDeleteNever mind - I found the source, http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0509/22681.html
ReplyDeleteStill - ROFLOL!
Bwaaaaaahaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gryphen! That was truly a great post!
haaaaahaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaa
Both the Coale's fingerprints are always strange - and greasy.
ReplyDeleteNow my head really hurts!
ReplyDeleteGo read Syrin's blog (link at left). VERY interesting.
ReplyDeleteGryphen, maybe all you folks in Anchorage & Wasilla can get together on this latest news discussed on Syrin's blog and dig some more.
ReplyDeleteSurely people are ready to tell something.....
you forgot the scientology angle. you know, this is john coale's brain on scientology, coming up with better ideas to take over the world for scientology. trying to suck up to as many politicians as possible and trying to get Palin into the fold.
ReplyDeleteNote that this info comes from the Palin camp, she may have read the nailinpalinnow blog about scientology and is enginiring to dump the tethan. Interesting that the info is floated now after the truculent legal fund is in place and she wiggled out of ethic complaints.
ReplyDeleteI guess now her christian beliefs will be incompatible with Scientology and her base will be free to voice their discontent with Coale.
could she be more devious than we have feared?
Kind of make sense that she cancelled the correspondents dinner in Washington and send TP as a consolation so the Coales would not lose point with their cult. Stupid tethans, if only they would acknowledge psichology, they could have seen they are dealing with a helpless nutcase.
This certainly backs up a statement made by Anna Marie Cox earlier today (WaPo/"Balance of Power"). When she was asked whether she thought Palin was nuts or getting bad advice re: weighing in on Prejean, she cited friends who were within the McCain campaign "who swear up, down and sideways that Palin is genuinely nuts", then added that Palin's probably getting bad advice as well. While the Coale story confirms the latter, it also leads me to question his grip on reality.
ReplyDeleteIf what is on Syrins blog is true, I don't think too highly of the Johnstons. It didn't seem like they just wanted money but what do I know. If Trig was born on April 18, wouldn't that mean that in that photo, she is only a few weeks from delivery? No way!!
ReplyDeleteThe C4P website has a "I want to throw up in my mouth" spin on this whole ordeal. You have to read it to believe it!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a hoot! SP would help Hillary when pigs fly--even though we've seen quite a few of those fluttering around, wearing lipstick, since GINO made the national stage.
ReplyDeleteI think John Coale should just keep offering SP advice. The entertainment value is priceless.
There's a big difference between paying off and making a contribution. The maximum P@lin could have contributed is $5000. A purported payoff Gryphen, will not stop the truth from eventually coming out. Are we now to wait till thursday (johnston's) court date? Who's going to be the first to break the sordid news? You or Zaki?
ReplyDeletePalin has a history of accepting help from older men and then dumping them..
ReplyDeleteToo funny to think the Clintons would want to be friends with a light weight like GINO.
I read the comment by Anna Marie Cox. It never fails to make me furious/terrified that McCain's aids knew GINO was an ignorant nutcase, and STILL enabled her to present herself as though she was a serious candidate for the White House. *Shudder*
Hill no wanna snake on da plane.
