Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

If you sniff the air and wonder what that horrible smell is, well that is the smell of freedom being quelled and Iran in flames.
Iranian police have used water cannon, batons, tear gas and live rounds to break up protests over the presidential election, witnesses in Tehran say.
A BBC reporter said he saw one man shot and others injured amid running fights.
Defeated candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi repeated calls for the election to be annulled on the grounds it was rigged.
US President Barack Obama urged Iran's government "to stop all violent and unjust actions against its own people", saying the "world is watching".
As we enjoy Father's day with our families today, let us offer a prayer of hope to those who are desperately fighting to have the same kind of freedom that we enjoy every day of our lives.
I am not usually one for prayer, but desperate circumstances call for desperate actions.

Gryphen,
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm sort of wondering what you mean about the freedom we enjoy.
Our elections were at least somewhat rigged once or even twice in very recent memory.
We can't get the media to discuss things of importance, and I don't mean the parentage of Trig.
According to Bill Meher that you posted here just yesterday or so, we don't even have a party that represents the will of the people, yet getting third party candidates on the ballot is an uphill battle, almost impossible.
Yet in Europe and other countries they have superior democratic voting systems and more than two corrupt and bought parties.
People from other countries routinely tell me that they have to listen in to the news broadcasts from their own countries to find out what's going on in the world.
And I have to break the law in order to follow my conscience and my own pursuit of health, buying real, fresh milk from a cow who is not mistreated.
Yet in Ukraine (where I visit) such food is readily legal and available.
What is so free about a country where those with money can pay to pass laws, and constantly thwart the will of the people, or keep them in the dark about what they are passing, and use underhanded ways to get their laws passed? And all of which is at least partly because it takes so much money to get elected that those moneyed-power interests pay for the candidates elections?
It smells more like American backed and fomented unrest to me. There is no way that Iran can ever be allowed to have it's nuclear deterrant to protect itself against U.S. aggression and U.S. empire building in the M.E. This could be 10% of the people in Teheran demonstrating while the rest of the country is going along with the result of their election.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that Americans would ever stop to think that that is a possibility, but rather will go along with what the propagandists promote.
Now if this was the Repub party in power it would be a different story altogether. But Dems support their party and Repubs support theirs. Now it's time to support Iran and go bomb them back into the stoneage to save them and make them free. Gotta get rid of that Ahmadinejad, he must be as crazy as all the other countries' leaders who the U.S. demonizes.
Here's the latest news from Iran: A few thousand Iranians are demonstrating and those are the people who oppose Ahmadinejad. The rest of the majority of the Iranian people are quite happy with the result of their election as their man Ahmadinejad won quite handily. AS WAS PREDICTED! And Americans are rallying around the flag and the troops and starting to think that Iranians need to be saved and freed from their dictator by bombing them.
ReplyDeleteNawwwww, must be commie propaganda.
where is Obama standing for liberty and freedom? may be he will send Rev. Wright to Tehran
ReplyDeleteGryphen, I will offer a prayer for peace in Iran, too.
