First she defends the indefensible, her inclusion of Exxon in the AGIA deal, blaming dissenting opinions in Alaska on "politics". Do you know what I blame dissenting opinions on? Intelligence and ethics, two things that our Governor is sadly lacking.
Her attack on Letterman continues and she even tries to make the case that Dave really was talking about Willow and lied about meaning Bristol Palin in his "apology" the next night. Oh God this woman has an ugly personality! (And by the way Willow was NOT at that damn game! She is the one lying here!)
But Matt does a good job of calling her on her bullshit after she tries to make this into a campaign to "defend" women against crude jokes. (And check out the hideous picture the Today show used when they put up the quotes by Megan Stapletongue saying she needed to "keep Willow away from David Letterman". I bet that pissed her off too!)
"Take it however you want to take it". She is unbelievably defensive and inappropriate, even suggesting a physical retaliation from Willow if she were on the Letterman show. (Once again let me point out that she was NOT AT THE GAME! He could NOT have been talking about her!)
You know Palin is pissed when she presses her lips together like that. Matt Lauer did a good job. Especially when he called her on being equally offensive for questioning Lettermans intentions towards young girls.
ReplyDeleteShe is an offense to women herself.
I was thinking that the reason why she brought Willow to NY was to set her up with some spokeperson gig and paycheck. She has already taken care of that for Bristol. Now it's Willow's turn. She is definately working it. Show me the money, GINO!
ReplyDeleteCan you say Lettergate?
ReplyDeleteNow they are trying to get her sounding more professional? Is she going to be reading from her Blackberry now so she is coherent?
ReplyDeleteSomeone should email Letterman about the lack of any evidenc of Willow's attendence at the game.
ReplyDeleteHe would lOVE to blow that lie out of the water
I see she's got those hair extensions hidden away (her hair looks terrible in this clip) and has scrubbed most of the makeup off. Who is she trying to kid? I thought Dave showed a lot of restraint last night - he only mentioned her by name once. I'm torn though - should he feed her over inflated sense of self by going after her like he did John McCain? Or - should he just go about his business of being outrageously funny (and snarky) and never mention her again. I have the feeling that the second option would drive her up the wall.
ReplyDeletethere she goes again, using her children to keep herself in the limelight, why don't she just stay in alaska and do the business she is supposed to be doing. she is pathetic will do whatever it takes at all cost. anything to stay in front of the camera.
ReplyDeleteThis is actually becoming ridiculous - Letterman is a late night comic. Palin is a daytime joke. They are a perfect match.
ReplyDeleteThe only difference is that he is coherent and rational.
She is demented and deranged.
Just going out on a limb here. I believe Dave's writers are mostly at fault. It was obviously intended to be a dumb joke (similar to Palin all the time).
I am SO sick of this dysfunctional screwball. The GOP deserves this joke. The sidebar implication that Letterman would rape a 14 year old is sheer disgust. But suing her would give her even MORE attention - something I am already sick of.
Willow was NOT at the game. Meg Stapletongue is a blithering idiot.
This whole issue needs to just go away. It's ridiculous. She's ridiculous.
why is she saying something Obama has said that has nothing to do with what's going on with Letterman, give me break.
ReplyDeleteThe B-word (Bristol) was never mentioned by either of them, even when SP started going off on a tangent about the horror oh the horror of "statutory rape." Which, of course, is exactly how TriG and TriPP were conceived, through consensual "statutory rape."
ReplyDeleteAnd at Matt's mention of Willow actually appearing on Letterman's show, I could imagine Willow burying her face in a pile of pillows and moaning, "Oh, Mo-ommmm!" in mortification.
In Dave's defense: He recently married his very longtime girlfriend/mother of his son, and between his first and second marriages, he didn't run around with bimbos. Refore getting involved with Regina Lasko (now Mrs. Dave), he had a longterm relationship with smart, funny Merrill Markoe; she'd been one of the head writers on his show.
It was cheap even by GINO's standards to drag the President into this: During the campaign, he said that families are off limits, and he didn't speak of any member of the Palin or McCain families. But under-the-radar GOP types didn't stop attacking every member of the Obama family right up to Election Day, and since then.
Since Dave already has done a bit of head-hanging, and that's all (or even more) than he needs to do, the people who will lose by GINO's dogged attacks on him are the members of her own family.
Letterman should really address the fact that Willow was nowhere to be seen at the game.
ReplyDeleteThe Obama comments during the campaign were directed at telling people to lay off of Palin's children, not his.
I had to stop a couple of times during the video because I couldn't take it any more. Wow, can we play count the lies? 1) "I first heard about the slutty comment during the Zeigler interview." Ah, no; her reaction made it clear she knew more about the jokes Letterman told than the info Z provided. 2) "My first reaction was, hey, don't disparage flight attendants." I could agree with her on that, but she didn't say that, she talked about herself, as always. 3) "Letterman talked about raping a 14 year old." No, he didn't; Todd did. 4) "Willow was at the game." No, she wasn't! (WHY won't the media call her on this BS line?) 5) "Obama said don't talk about his family but it's okay to talk about the other ticket's family." No, he was talking about Bristol when he said families were off limits. And that's not even touching the pipeline BS.
ReplyDeleteShe keeps calling for people to rise up. When are people going to rise up against her hate mongering, her divisiveness, her disrespect to our President (calling him "he who must be obeyed"!), her racism? I have not seen anyone MSM talk about the fact the recent wingnut terrorist quoted her and referred to her. Why didn't Matt ask her how she felt about inspiring a terrorist?
Grrrh. But I love her "unslutty" look. What a hoot.
"Sexual innuendo about my children is unacceptable. Words hurt and they especially hurt children. Nothing can take back the words. ...And that is all I have to say on the subject."
ReplyDeleteIf Palin said the above I would applaud her. But, no, Palin has take it to some absurd extreme to distract her base from everything Palin has mucked up (and will muck up). And so I join the chorus: Palin, STFU.
Re the "unslutty" look. That shows that Letterman really got to her. I can see her in front of the mirror: "Slutty? Hah! I'll show him he can't call me that." And she changes her look, which shows Letterman's remark got to her, and now what does she do? Go back to the "s" look, which will forever be connected to Letterman's monologue, and which is the look she prefers. Or go all, ummmmm, conservative in appearance, which is a look she doesn't like, but will show that Letterman's remark got to her. I wonder if she'll only wear closed-toe shoes from now on, too.
ReplyDeleteRise up? MY daughter doesn't get Bratz dolls and I won't let her wear a two-piece bathing suit. (she is 7) Also, she doesn't wear baby hooker clothes and I don't let her watch crap like Zoey 101.
ReplyDeleteAll these people in America who claim they are Christians and yet, sales of this crap for girls is much higher than just some pagans buying it. So-called Christians are buying this stuff and dressing their kids like little Britneys.
I say, it is NOT The liberals like keeping the Bratz doll company rolling in dough.
She's a mess - internally and externally.
ReplyDeleteWillow was NOT at the game. Why isn't the MSM talking about this? (oh yeah...forgot)
Exploiting your children for your own personal gain? That's something she understands. There is another word for "using" something to get something for yourself. It's called prostitution.
SP will never win Mother of the Year.
Could someone please post the pictures of Palin in her "flat busted" shirt and of her in her pagent swimsuit... and then remind me who has shown women in such a superficial and shallow light. Talk about degrading women.
ReplyDelete"It's about.. some other daughter." She can't even say, "My daughter Bristol, who has a child." She's "so proud" of Bristol, and "she's such a strong, courageous young woman" when they're in interviews discussing Bristol's 'advocay' for abstinence, and her taking care of her son, but in this case, not even a mention of her name?
ReplyDeleteI do agree, there can be an issue with the sexualization of young girls. But this was A JOKE. It had nothing to do with stuatutory rape. It had everything to do with the fact that A-Rod and Spitzer are horndogs, and less about the fact that her daughter was (in)famously pregnant. If you really want to look at the issue of oversexualization, try looking at Sarah Palin's wardrobe, makeup, hair, and actions. She dresses like she just got out of college and doesn't know what's appropriate in a business environment- the skirts can be a little too short, the heels hig/peep-toe/f*me boots, the hair and makeup overdone. There are comments all over the place about "she's hot" or "I'd do her." It's really what she wants- attention. Doesn't matter what kind, as long as she gets attention- she's proven that. Now, is she really putting forth an image that we want girls to emulate? Hell no! This is just another example of her hypocrisy, another example of how she'll do anything to stay in the spotlight. I find it pathetic that more people don't recognize this. If you want to have a serious discussion about our culture and why many young girls see themselves the way they do, I'm all for it. Sarah Palin, however, is not the person to begin that conversation, especially with her track record in regards to rape and domestic violence victims.
As for Letterman, I originally thought it was stupid for hi to addess this on air. Now that GINO is snapping back, esp. with the comments about keeping Willow away from him, and the repetition of statutory rape in any comment she makes about him and the joke, perhaps he should have his lawyers look into a slander/defamation lawsuit. Even if he doesn't carry through with it, it might make GINO sit up and take notice. After all, this is the woman who said she'd do what she wanted until the courts told her she couldn't.
"The Candidate who Must be Obeyed?" Wow, she's really reaching. (How about the fact that when Obama said families were off-limits, he was trying to squelch the talk about HER daughter?)"It's continued to this day?" Lady, you can't thrust your (adult) daughter into the media- interviews, articles, etc- and then tell them to leave you alone. You just can't have it both ways! She really is the jr. high "mean girl," isn't she (as a jr. high teacher, I see them al the time). You know, if it were just her politics I didn't agree with, it wouldn't be an issue. Her sexual image while pretending to be the small-town, Christian values, 'aw, shucks' candidate is such bull that it makes me naseous- and don't get me started on how much people like her really get my goat when they call themselves "Christians." Her anti-'business-as-usual' and 'pro-transperencey' shtick while the realities of what's going on behind the scenes is even worse. I can't believe this woman has gotten away with everything she has- it needs to stop.
Scarah has the nerve to acuse Letterman of being a pedophile yet she seems to forget that she campaigned in Georgia for Sonny Chambliss who was shown IN A CAMPAIGN AD feeling up his granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteI would like to look at this ridiculous business from a different point of view. Imagine Sarah as President of the United States, her ultimate dream. Everyday, no matter who the president is, criticism is heaped on him (her). She would have a full time job responding to every slight and insult. Now imagine that there are some top level diplomatic negotiations going on that require compromise and a meeting of the minds. Instead of finding an acceptable middle ground, President Sarah would keep ratcheting it up a notch. We already had "My way or the highway" with stubborn GWB, and that won us few international friends in the last 8 years. She is dangerous, escalating the situation with some really supercharged rhetoric. The Palins introduced the words "rape" and "pedophile" into the vocabulary. Now imagine President Sarah dealing in a mature, unemotional way with North Korea, Iran or any other international hot spot. For that matter, long before she would make it to the White House, she would never survive the debate where other GOP hopefuls might attack her. The political world is no place for someone with such thin skin and juvenile responses. This Letterman business is the 3 AM phone call that Hilary was talking about, namely how Sarah would respond to a crisis. Thanks, Sarah, you flunked the test. If anything was pathetic, it wasn't "good old David Letterman," it is the way that Sarah kept this spat going for the sake of publicity, fund raising and more publicity. Pathetic!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, Alaskans. Palin is so dumb. She conflates the natural gas and petroleum markets in her answers in the first 3 minutes!
ReplyDeletePalin does look really mad. Or is that how she looks from being a grandmother? She still needs a lot more media training. No wonder the GOP gave up on her in terms of the future.
Is there an a RECALL movement that can be discussed at Shannyn's birthday party? If you can get it started, monies will be donated from around the world. Right now, doing nothing plays into the oil companies' hands, IMHO. Even a symbolic RECALL gesture would work well in terms of trying to stop her future ambitions. It would be referred to in all PR about her for the rest of her ambitions.
As a lifelong, and published feminist, I would like to add this as a meme to be repeated by ANYONE trying to talk about whatever Palin is saying about the coarsening of our culture towards women: THE RIGHT HAS BEEN CHEAPENING WOMEN FOR YEARS & YEARS. Cases in point: Rushbo on Hillary (and he has said much, much worse about other women, too--review his archives and you'll find it); Palin laughing at the B&&%h jokes against cancer patient Lyda Green on the radio in AK; McCain's own jokes against young Chelsea; Rush's jokes against young Chelsea. WHERE WAS PALIN THEN? WILL SHE GO AFTER RUSH NOW? WILL SHE DEMAND AN APOLOGY FROM BURKE ABOUT a comment re: BRISTOL GOING TO A KEGGER AFTER GRADUATION last month???
Palin is a total hypocrite. She is lying about what Dave actually said, anyway. It makes her look even more illiterate.
Does it matter if it was Bristol or Willow being discussed? And who was where and blah, blah, blah? You claim your blog is dedicated to "finding the truth". Well the truth is, this subject is really about exploiting women, especially young women. The statistics of young women having sex before they are ready is staggering. Does it matter if it's Palin or Obama or whoever that brings it to light? It's not just Letterman. It's the music industry, especially rap, Hollywood, etc. that makes it ok for young boys to think young girls should give them what they want. And let's all be honest, we all know what's on all young boy's minds.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a daughter, a niece, a sister? Close your eyes and imagine her in the backseat of a car, or on a school bus, giving a boy a blow job because she's been brainwashed via various ways it's the cool thing to do. It's happening every day. I don't care who is highlighting this topic - it's about time it's addressed.
Our girls need to know it's OK to say NO and our boys need to be more respectful.
One more comment from a feminist: If Palin wants to stop young women from suffering from low self-esteem, she should:
ReplyDelete1) Make sure all of her daughters finish high school, and go on to accredited colleges to attain B.A.s
2) Stop Bristol from associating with a sexy shoe company as a paid spokeswoman.
3) Stop threatening Mercedes' brother.
Sorry, one more. If Palin is so pro-women, why did she charge young women for rape kits in Wasilla?
ReplyDeleteShe has a lot of nerve claiming to be defending women after this:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.liveleak.com/view?i=4a7_1220377291
most of this was scrubbed (off HuffPo, for example) so listen now while you can and download it!
Palin laughs as her female political opponent is called a "b---", "fat" and a "cancer". Of course, this woman was recovering from cancer, so that was a particularly nasty dig. Palin didn't do anything but giggle in that mean girl voice. she was lovin' the cruelty to another woman.
Now she claims she's standing up for girls and women? No thanks.
I just cannot listen to that *itch anymore, and it's not just the squeaky voice; it's the LIES that spew forth from that mouth that are so abominable. I was listening to NPR this morning and they mentioned the new 'statuatory rape' comment from GINO, and my hackles were so immediately raised.....until I thought about it, like MrsTarquin up there.......uh, yeah, does SP realize what she was saying? What an idiot!!! She's a demented lying attention-seeking *ITCH. And for her to keep on this ridiculous argument with Letterman shows how demented and evil she is. Yes. Evil. Let Us Call It What It Is. EVIL.
ReplyDeleteI would like SP to deny that her underage daughter was indeed knocked up--TWICE, and that SP herself does dress provocatively ON PURPOSE to draw attention to herself. How many other governors do we know that paint their toenails and wear open toe shoes for the sole purpose of having people notice it?
Molly
PLEASE don't make me watch it. But thanks for paraphrasing it for me all you brave people! I think Dave should never mention her again. In fact, I wish the MSM would ignore her (I get my news from AK blogs solamente, and some HuffPo.) I am getting almost desperate for something to end this travesty of Palin soon.
ReplyDeleteI love her comment "if we must" talk about it. She is the one who is keeping all this going. I am disappointed that Matt didn't call her out on the Obama said families were off limit comment. GINO is the one who keeps parading her family in front of cameras and uses them as stage props. And yes, he should have asked her about inspiring a terrorist. MSM constantly lets her off the hook. It is disgusting.
ReplyDeleteHere's an excellent post by the father of a young daughter, over to Daily Kos:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/6/12/741647/-As-A-Father-Of-A-Little-Girl,-My-Response-To-Sarah-Palin
I gave a shout-out there to direct readers here.
Someone on Mudflats had a brilliant idea this morning (sorry, I do not remember poster's name):
ReplyDeleteEVERY TIME Palin's name is brought up (by all willing bloggers, newscasters, and radio personalities), they should always say "Sarah Palin, of Joel's Army....." As in, "Today, Joel's Army member Sarah Palin said that David Letterman........" and "Sarah Palin, member of Joel's Army said......" I think this is a great idea, especially if it catches on in a big way. If you are not aware of the VERY frightening relationship with Palin and Joel's Army (fundie Christian Warriors), google it. BTW, this is the sole reason I pay any attention at all to the twit. I watched Afghanistan and Iran turn from progressive, free societies (in the 1960's and 70's) to Countries where religious fundamentalism has caused the death and abuse of hundreds of thousands of citizens, especially women. So, I believe it CAN happen here if the whackjob Palin advances her agenda of a Christian Taliban for the United States. Palin is DANGEROUS and must be stopped - I can ignore her antics and lies, but I cannot ignore the danger that her religious fundamentalism presents.
Palin is the worst kind of miserable hypocrite around.
ReplyDeleteShe really should look after the state that she was elected to govern before she rails against comedians.
Where's Sarah when her state has pathetic stats like this:
Alaska is the # 1 state in the country for Rape and has been for 23 out of the last 30 years
Alaska’s reported rate of rape per capita is 2.6 times the national average
Anchorage has the ninth highest sexual assault rate of any city in the United States, and Fairbanks is ranked first
Fairbanks’ rape rate is 4.7 times the national average
AK’s Child abuse rate is six times higher than the national average.
Anon 8:32 AM
ReplyDeleteYou might want to check out the Candies shoe ads over all the years that they have been targeting young children and teens. Would you want your children to represent that company and their mixed messages?
Bristol did dress appropriate for her media appearances while representing Candies fund raising endeavor. I don't know what happened with the Palin family by the time they did the fund raising for Karcher and Heather Bruce's cause, autism. It is definitely a notable change.
What matters is that mixed messages do need to be addressed.
This is all a RED HERRING! GINO and the Bots took a big hit last weekend with the Plagiarism headlines! Luckily for her, one of her peelanders watch letterman and saw a perceived" attack" and it was game on! Now, does anyone remember how she plagiarized Newts speech???
ReplyDeleteThat's what we should be talking about. The rest is smoke and mirrors! Willow wasn't even at the GAME!!!!! Sarah palin the plagiarizer!!!!
Check out her rants on the Wolf Blitzer clip, where she says Willow was 'the only one with her at the game', and that Bristol is 'going to college (WTF???) and "taking care of her young FAMILY"!
ReplyDeletehttp://tinyurl.com/nocwmy
Yes, it matters if Dave was talking about Bristol versus Willow because we all know that Bristol is an adult and a celebrity and just like Britney, Paris and other female celebrities if she put her business out there it will be talked about. Dave is a comedian and although his comment was of poor taste it was typical of a comedian. Sarah needs to get over it and stop exploiting her children.
ReplyDeleteSarah knows damn well Dave was talking about Bristol. She is using Willow because she knows that Bristol would definitely do Alex in a heartbeat. Remember Bristol said herself that she was a 'slut' on her myspace page. Sarah knows that people (especially her base) will be more sympathetic if she can make everyone think that Dave's comments were about Willow.
There are no pictures of Willow at that game. It would be nice to prove that she was not. We would catch Sarah in another big lie. She told Matt on the Today Show that Willow was at the game. Sarah is using this to justify her claim that Dave was talking about Willow.
Sarah is a joke. I can't wait for babygate to show it's ugly head.
Alaska It is unbelievable she has not been recalled. RECALL Now! When is she going to do her job?
ReplyDeleteHere's a Canadian perspective of this whole thing but first let me make it clear that I think Palin is a phony and an empty bottle. However.... This thing is playing well for Palin now. When she said that Letterman should apologize to the young women of America she hit the ball out of the park. And not that Letterman was wrong IMO in what he said, just that Palin's handlers have used this exquisitely to their advantage.
ReplyDeleteAside from that, this is the first time I've seen Palin come across as someone who could be seen as bright and credible to more than just the extreme right. She's obviously been doing a lot of work on her television persona and has had some very good schooling. I very much fear that Americans are going to become quite accepting of her in the next few years leading up to a presidential election. I say this because I have sat on the sidelines and watched how a nitwit like George W was accepted by the American people. If, and it's a big if, Obama can't bring about meaningful change and progress for the long suffering middle and lower income people of the U.S. before 2012, I fear that you Americans have just witnessed a new president in the making.
Until now I never thought it could happen but now I'm becoming very afraid that it is and the American people are being led down another garden path. Take this friendly warning as you will good people, but certainly do everything in your power to stop it from happening.
No Mention of Willow in ANY search of RJ+SP+ yankees game..all there is is this...
ReplyDelete"The GOP political duo and their spouses exchanged laughs, smiles and small talk as they watched the Yanks take on Tampa Bay. At one point, Giuliani snapped a photo of his wife, Judith, with Alaska's First Couple."
Willow? Williow? Bueller?
Hi Gryphen and followers
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed the comments about this immensely.
One question--several of you have mentioned that Willow wasn't even there. On the Today show clips they keep showing Sarah and someone that looks like Willow next to her waving at people. Is that not at the ballgame?
The reason I have to ask is that I couldn't watch the whole thing because I could only stand her voice and her BS for like two minutes.
Thanks for clarifying!
And Gryphen, thanks for a great blog.
Actually, I'm pretty sure that Willow was at that game. If you look at the third photo in the HuffPo piece about them being there, it looks like her (part of her head and face) in the row below SP: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/06/08/sarah-palins-yankee-stadi_n_212566.html
ReplyDeleteIf you listen to Sarah's jabber, she tells at least one gratuitous lie every 20 seconds, from she's only talking about the Letterman affair because Matt insists, to she didn't know about Letterman's jokes until she did the Z interview, to her first thought was it was an insult to flight attendants (as if P ever thinks of anyone but herself!), to Willow was at the game, to [President} Obama said HIS family was off limits but hers was fair game, etc, etc.
ReplyDeleteAll politicians lie, but this woman takes the time-honored practice into an entirely new realm. She's psychotic. I was watching the Morning Joe where they were tut-tutting about how "horribly" poor Sarah was treated by the media when she first appeared on the stage (before she'd shown what a buffoon she is). And I thought, Yo, people; maybe SOME people saw through her better and earlier than others!
She is so pretty and she has that smile that makes you want to smile and like her. But underneath the charming exterior lies an ignorant, mean, twisted woman consumed by hate. But the only ones seeing it are those who are paying attention. Unfortunately, most reporters/commentators don't fall into that category.
Even if Willow was at the game, who knew? There was no shot of her at the game. She could have been there and wanted to stay out of public view. How much attention are the writers and DL paying to who is where and when? The joke was a reflection on the adults, Palin does have a daughter that was knocked up, A-Ron and Spitzer were targets. Isn't the show called LATE NIGHT? isn't it geared to edgy adult humor? This is a red herring and it is working some for Palin because parents that believe her lies are outraged. Too bad.
ReplyDeleteSo AKM or Shannyn (if you’re stopping by)or Gryphen since you’re Huff Post writers why not write up something with the President’s direct quote from the campaign, then add Sarah’s nasty reference to the President this morning, which by the way was a sitting Governor who not only did not call him President, but who also referred to him as the one to be obeyed. So now we should be just as outraged that a US Governor shows such public disrespect to the POTUS.
ReplyDeleteWe can start publicly demanding an apology on his behalf from Ms. Cuckoo for Cocopuffs!
Maybe even round up some of her other recent insulting comments to my President.
Not only does Sarah Palin have no moral compass, she's showing she has no compass of any kind... she just swings that needle around in some kind of craziness. Wherever the attention is, preferably adulation but also any kind of attention that puts her in a righteous, smug, or victimized light. Actually, now that I think of it, she reminds me of a cold-blooded reptile, which just reacts viscerally to warmth, slithering towards it relentlessly.
ReplyDeleteI looked at the Huffpost picture and I really can't tell if that is Willow or not. IMO it does not look like her. There is no mention of her at the game by the media and I find it hard to believe that she was not photographed during the whole fanfare with First Dude and Sarah. I think Sarah is lying again.
ReplyDeleteJust don't wait for Palin to ever again be shown for the fool she really is in the manner that it was displayed in the Couric interview. Palin has come a long way now and even though she is probably not quite ready for a tough interview by a person of Couric's caliber or higher, she is nearing that point. It's pretty obvious from seeing this that she will be completely ready by 2011 for exposure to the tough media questions.
ReplyDeleteAll it's going to take now IMO is for the Repubs to build back their favour with the people. Lacking Obama bringing about meaningful healthcare reform and other essential change for the middle class, you Americans are going to be seeing a lot more of this bimbo.
First, we need to find a picture of Willow in those slutty, cut up to the crotch Daisy Dukes she was wearing at the NY founder's Day celebration. On stage, holding the baby and looking like Bristol.
ReplyDeleteNext, time to rechristen Sarah "RL". We really don't use the term raving lunatic as much as we should. In fact, in the dictionary next to Raving Lunatic it should say see Sarah Palin.
As for Letterman. He's not on tonight so he can't respond until Monday. And she knew that.
The National Organization for Women has announced it is inducting David Letterman into it's Hall of shame over this. They have swallowed Sarah's press releases hook, line and sinker. I am extremely disappointed in an organization so quick to crucify a man yet overlook the blatant misogyny of a woman. Letterman is a comedian. Palin is a Governor. As Mayor she made rape victims pay for their own rape kits. As Governor she vetoed legislation to help battered and abused women and provide sex education. Palin has done way more damage to women than David Letterman ever could.
Sarah Palin is not a defender of women and David Lettermen isn't the enemy.
I think she is crying foul too loudly and too late.
ReplyDeleteShe was strutting on stage as the republican "babe" with her family and daughters in tow. I think her own behavior has more of an impact on her daughters self esteem than any words can.
Anon at 10:08, I think that's some unrelated child. If you look at the photo of Sarah sitting down, the seat back comes up to low on her chest, whereas the child's head barely makes it over the back of the seat. Also, Willow has a widow's peak in her hair.
ReplyDeleteANONYMOUS 10:08 AM
ReplyDeleteThe part of head person in front looks older to me. Whether or not she was there isn't all that significant to me. It is more whether the public could see she was there. The writers get there material from current events as they see them at the time. Comedy writing is not a detailed account of events.

ReplyDeletei can't find the video of Sarah and the stage where Willow is in the daisy dukes. gee, they wouldn't scrub that would they?
Sarah Q., I don't agree about "when she said that Letterman should apologize to the young women of America she hit the ball out of the park".
ReplyDeleteIf it's coming out of the mouth of a liar and hypocrite, it negates the message. ...well, except to her "base". They lap this stuff up like heavy cream.
She rattled off the stuff about the Exxon/AGIA business without hesitation, but those are talking points she's been rehearsing for 2 years now -- she SHOULD know her talking points, if not what she's talking about.
And no, her television persona is the same as it's been the past 9 months I've been aware of her. Shrill voice, attack personality, limited topics on which she can speak intelligibly (unless she's parroting someone elses thoughts...Newt Gingrich, for example).
@ Sarah Q. You are so right. There is something behind GINO and I do not believe there is an iceberg big enough to sink her. I haven't from her debut. Seems I recall the Republican party being involved in her mayoral election, an election that was supposed to be non-partisan. And no one has ever ever stopped her at any point since. And no one ever asks her hard questions. She may have a lot of personality issues, she is definitely undereducated, but she is charismatic, ruthless, clever, ambitious and without a conscience. If Alaskans do not take her down, all the way down and do it soon, then the rest of us need to be very scared.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Sarah start charging women who had been raped for the rape kits in Wasilla? I thought I remembered that from the election.
ReplyDeleteWould have been nice if Matt would have remembered and mentioned that.
Palin was MANIC during that interview!! She was talking 100 miles per hour and Matt couldn't even get a word in edgewise at times. Her psychological condition is deteriorating.
ReplyDeleteIf she doesn't get help (or better help) soon, things will continue to get worse, even if you didn't think that was possible.
some signs that point to a manic episode:
*increased talkativeness
*racing thoughts
*spending sprees
*delusions of grandeur
*unreasonalble hostility
*increased religous zeal
*likely to wear brightly colored or flamboyant clothing
http://bipolar.about.com/cs/mania/ht/bl-ht-mania.htm
Also, I am disappointed that Matt Lauer let her off so easy--too bad that "talk shows" have replaced newscasts.
No offense, Sarah Q. I love Canada & all, but I don't think Palin's playing here the way you think she is. She looks like a total fool now.
ReplyDeleteShe calls Pres. Obama "a candidate." Her big fight is with a comedian, and she can't even correctly paraphrase him. Palin doesn't seem to know the diff. between natural gas pipelines and petroleum pipelines. She has just sold AK out to the one oil company that most Alaskans hate the most (and with good reason).
And last week, she plagiarized Gingrich. Every week, she gets worse and worse. She seems to be falling apart--it's the opposite of how you perceive it, it seems to me.
It's only helping Letterman's ratings. All North American comedians (and their fans) will stand in solidarity with him. Wait for Bill Maher to get in on the act.
Her GOP rivals are loving this. You betcha.
I read a blogger's comments where she would not be able to watch Palin on the "Today Show" because she had something better to do... a colonoscopy.
ReplyDeleteAnother blogger replied, yes, that's better but, the view would be the same.
Funny, but, oh so true.
sjk (re: your post @ 10:03 AM), let me share with you the copy of an e-mail I received on Wednesday 6/10/09 from Peter Abraham, LoHud (Lower Hudson) beat writer who covers the Yankees for the White Plains NY Journal News. Long ago I used to be part of the press corps myself, as a guest fanzine writer, and I've corresponded with Abraham before.
ReplyDeleteI'd asked him "who attended Sunday's game with Rudy Giuliani?"
Here's his response:
-------------
"They do not announce who attends games. I saw Giuliani, his wife, Palin and her husband. I cannot speak to whether her kids were there or not, sorry.
Thanks for reading,
Pete Abraham
Yankees beat writer
The Journal News
White Plains, NY
Read my blog: http://yankees.lhblogs.com"
--------------------
Peter Abraham would have been sitting in the press box, and would have recognized Giuliani and his wife promptly. Notice he names only Sarah Palin and Todd Palin as accompanying the Giulianis.
I feel pretty sure Abraham would have noticed if someone else, ANYONE else, was there in the group. And I'll bet he realizes, as close to the Yankee team as he is, that David Letterman was insulting Alex Rodriguez more than he was any Palin daughter...
My contention is still that Willow Palin was with Heather, Palin's sister, and Heather's son Karcher (the autistic kid), probably still on Long Island, where the kids could at least go to Jones' Beach, walk the Boardwalk...
I think it's odd that the subject of Willow being raped is the first thought out of Todd's mouth. It's not the first thing I would think about my daughter.
ReplyDeletePeople who do not know about personality disorders tend to be blind to SP's disordered behavior. If you've never crossed paths with someone with a personality disorder, you don't know that they exist; instead we tend to think "crazy people" look and act like homeless criminals. This is FAR from the truth.
ReplyDeleteExperts in the field of personality disorders and those of us unfortunate to have crossed paths with someone with a p.d. can "see" these issues in SP.
So we need to educate those, such as the N.O.W., reporters, etc. (actually most people), who don't know all the background in this situation.
Please, everyone, look at SP's behavior considering narcissism, histrionic, borderline and antisocial personality disorder traits. People with these traits don't have empathy, don't "think" like most people, and don't follow the same social mores as others.
Perhaps Gryphen, other bloggers, or other writers (i.e. Geoffrey Dunn) could get some input from a professional on this issue and take the opportunity to educate the public?
Sarah (@ 10:07 AM), that's Judi Giuliani sitting next to Sarah Palin waving.
ReplyDeleteJudi Giuliani does indeed look a lot like Willow, despite being 40 years older, despite not having a widow's peak, despite having an "old" hand that's waving, despite wearing an ill-fitting beige blazer that Willow probably wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole...
I have a series of photos to review on this question at here if you care to look them over...
What was the reason Bill McAllister was demoted? He must have quite a story to tell since he helped Palin fake her pregnancy. Does anyone think he might ever spill the beans?
ReplyDeleteSorry Gryphen -- you missed this one. Matt was fluff as usual.
ReplyDeleteI am slowly but surely getting worried here - it seems like GINO is made of Teflon - ANYTHING and everything seems to slide off her and not faze her at all! ANY and all lies are simply explained away, ANY and all misdeeds are glossed over.
ReplyDeleteWHAT GIVES, ALASKANS??? WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO STAND UP AGAINST THIS MOCKING STATUE OF A GOVERNOR AND GET RID OF HER???
fwiw:
ReplyDeleteTexas is "feeding the hungry markets" for gas presently. The Barnett Shale gas field is really active right now.
Livvy @ 11:47 AM. Wait. What? McAllister has been demoted?!
ReplyDeleteI just saw this from my paper: http://foxyurl.com/5Ws
ReplyDeleteJeweler Korman files complaint over Letterman joke. FCC declines to comment...
This thing seems to get weirder and weirder...
If it involves Palin, it is weird from the beginning. She's decompensating.
ReplyDeleteThe little men in the white coats will get her yet.
Pathologic liars do NOT do well in society, only in their little groups of enablers.
NOW will wise up - they look stupid if they support this idiocy.
Sarah Palin had a daughter that got KNOCKED UP.
ReplyDeleteAnd she's all up in arms because someone made a joke about her daughter getting KNOCKED UP? She's equating that with rape? Rape must be a touchy subject with Sarah...
And she's pretending to care about girls and how they feel about themselves when she was the one who dragged her KNOCKED UP daughter out on stage in front of God and everybody to try and disarm the story of how she faked a pregnancy????
Talk about hypocrisy. What the heck did SHE do to Bristol's self-esteem by parading her around and publicly feeling sorry for her? What the heck did SHE do by then making arrangements for her to be out in public again, carrying a baby, to talk up abstinence?
You guys are screwed!!! In Alaska Palin cannot be impeached by the people, it must be done by the lawmakers. She will not run again in 2010, she will run for POTUS in 2012. You guys sit on your secrets and let this woman run all over your state and eventually all over the country. She is beating you!!! She knows what she is doing and she has you all supporting her by keeping her secrets... disgusting.
ReplyDeleteThis is all coming from a woman who hired a sexual harrasser as Comish of Public Safety. Attempted to get in a woman hater Wayne A. Ross as Attorney General. Made women pay for their own rape kit in Wasilla. Fired Walt Monegan when he wanted to help native women and children from rape and abuse in villages. where was her outrage for women then?
ReplyDeleteWhy can't anyone show a picture of Willow at the Yankee game? Because she wasn't there maybe? So they will have to declare the $2600 ticket for the kid?
ReplyDeleteOnejrkitty:
ReplyDeleteGuilani was at the ball game. He and his wife invited the Palins.
IF SOMEONE WOULD ASK GUILIANI IF WILLOW WAS THERE HE WOULD HAVE TO RESPOND. IF HE DID NOT, LIKE NOT EVEN A "NO COMMENT" BUT JUST A DISMISSIVE WAVE OF THE HAND, THAT WOULD SAY A LOT.
Just like Levi and the the good doctor and Bristol KNOW who Trig's real mother is, GUILIANI KNOWS IF WILLOW WAS THERE OR NOT.
He KNOWS !
LisanTX said... Palin was MANIC during that interview!!
ReplyDeleteI doubt it is a natural high. She continually exhibits these traits. I can only hope she is on TV more.
She is not going to be diagnosed. If she was they would try to get her off diet pills and medications to see what is underneath.
Matt is the one that reacted to Tripp with the out cold statement. I don't think he wants to notice how the Palin family TV appearences are looking.
Watch the Today show video again of Tripp, he is dead still and not responding to her touching him. It goes on and on for what seems like forever. Lauer is an irresponsible whatever he is. He did a half a$$ job today with MANIC Sarah. She has said that she and Todd don't sleep on more then one occasion. It shows.
I heard someone is trying to get Letterman fired. Has anyone seen anything about that one?
ReplyDeleteOh please let Palin run in 2012 - pretty please with marshmallows on top.
ReplyDeleteHang that to us ok? Give us yet one more chance to show her once and for all what a major idiot loser she really is.
Most women don't get off on the Sarah psychosis. She is dumb, embarrassing and a fool. Her opinions are nuts and she plays to about 10 people with IQ's lower than hers and it's not easy to find that.
She exploits her kids and uses them when it is convenient. Her new target is a late night talk show host.
Such power - such awe! Such splendor from a psychotic liar like Palin. She is definitely showing all of us her might and authority.
We bow before the icon that is Sarah. We worship her bad extensions, her weird toenails, and her ability to use and abuse the english language and simultaneously use the word RAPE and her 14 year old daughter's name in the same sentence.
Her Matt Lauer interview showed her looking natural - rode hard and put up wet.
Oh yes - we womenfolk is proud of that. She be makin' us look like dummies. We all as dumb and stupid as her. Yeah right.
I haven't read all the comments so this may have been addressed, but I feel that EVERYONE including Matt Lauer is really missing the point here:
ReplyDelete1. Late night comedy is for adults, off color, bad taste whatever, it all plays on late night. If you don't like it, don't watch.
2. Palin is acting like a de facto dictator of a totalitarian regime based on cult of personality - in these regimes you cannot critcise or insult the "great one". The media is controlled. Palin and fam are public figures subject to the same ridicule and lampooning that all politicians and their families have been subject to for as long as the media has existed.
3. The "rape" part of the conversation needs to be addressed. The joke never implied rape whatsoever. Letterman implied that if you let a Palin girl loose, she'll probably get knocked up. By her own volition, not by rape. Letterman is a veteran comedian - rape is obviously not funny, loose Palin women are.
4. Palin is now defaming Letterman, insinuating he is a pedophile, pervert etc.
5. God I wish Lenny Bruce were alive and kicking today to take Palin on - no apologies and no quarter from him I guarantee it.
Excellent Helen!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for Reel Time on HBO tonight. If Bill Maher does not tear Scarah to pieces I will be quite disapointed.
ReplyDeleteSarah just did interview with Wolf Blitzer on CNN. Explaining that the joke was not about Bristol. The Gov stated that Bristol was at home in college taking care of her young family. Family or child? 1 minute video of her slip on CNN web site, if you cannot stomach the entire interview.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with Palin is that she is a true sociopath. She has no self awareness and no conscience. Nothing is off limits for exploitation.
ReplyDeleteI predict LOTS of thorazine in her future. She is looking pretty haggard and out of it. She's babbling and manic.
It is important that people keep opposing her and her views. She is not able to oppose individuals who disagree with her. Her only repertoire is personal attacks. She has no finesse, no talent and no cleverness.
She is what you see. Dumb, crazy and a borderline personality. She needs medication and a really good doctor. Left to her own devices, she will destroy everything around her, including herself.
She is to be pitied - but she has to shut up before anyone will care.
Dave owns his own show, can't get fired, not should he. The most ridiculously blown out of proportion thing ever, done to make us all forget about her copying Newt's speech and having that dust up with the GOP. They could not be happier than to have this major distraction and that is why they are milking it for all it is worth. That and SP never met a camera she did not like.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous (at 11:41 AM) wrote about SP's personality disorder and how important it is for people to be educated about this. I've seen many comments at other sites at which people ARE recognizing that she is not your typical, ignorant, fame hungry politician. She has an extra element that is quite dangerous and should be part of the discussion.
ReplyDeleteShe truly is a sociopath. Here are the characteristics:
Manipulative and Conning
They never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors as permissible. They appear to be charming, yet are covertly hostile and domineering, seeing their victim as merely an instrument to be used.
Grandiose Sense of Self
Feels entitled to certain things as "their right."
Pathological Lying
Has no problem lying coolly and easily and it is almost impossible for them to be truthful on a consistent basis. Can create, and get caught up in, a complex belief about their own powers and abilities. (How do they do this? They believe their lies)
Lack of Remorse, Shame or Guilt
A deep seated rage, which is split off and repressed, is at their core. Does not see others around them as people, but only as targets and opportunities. Instead of friends, they have victims and accomplices who end up as victims. (without shame or guilt, one can tell a lie as though it were the truth)
Shallow Emotions
When they show what seems to be warmth, joy, love and compassion it is more feigned than experienced and serves an ulterior motive. Outraged by insignificant matters, yet remaining unmoved and cold by what would upset a normal person. Since they are not genuine, neither are their promises.
Incapacity for Love
Poor Behavioral Controls/Impulsive Nature Believe they are all-powerful, all-knowing, entitled to every wish, no sense of personal boundaries, no concern for their impact on others.
Lack of Realistic Life Plan
Tends to move around a lot or makes all encompassing promises for the future, poor work ethic but exploits others effectively.
We can take a little comfort in knowing that they NEVER learn from their mistakes, are not objective about anything and, ultimately, have failed lives. These people, S. P. in particular, are best viewed as the aliens in the old Invasion of the Body Snatchers. They want to be human, but can never figure out what that is, exactly.
This information comes from the book, The Sociopath Next Door, Dr. Hare, and my own experience.
She will self destruct, but she'll get her way for awhile...as Bush did. Even Teflon wears out eventually.
Keep up the good work!! Try to enjoy the ride, 'cause it's going to be a huge relief when her thrill is gone!
Saturday night, Sarah Palin is going to drop the first puck at the Philadelphia Flyers' hockey game. Then Palin will spend the rest of the game trying to keep the hockey players out of her daughter's penalty box." --Conan O'Brien
ReplyDeleteBristol not NOT there either. Willow and Piper were. Where was her outrage then?
Sarah rips Lauer a new one good for her!
