It looks like somebody had Palin completely figured out way back in October 2008

Wow it is scary how accurate he was isn't it?

Very interesting and dead on accurate. I like how they discuss the religious aspect and how the far right wingnuts manipulate the flocks for political purposes. Thanks for posting.

P.S. I bet your blog gets lots more traffic now, Gryph. Keep posting the truth about the "not-quite-one-full-term ex-governor."

  2. I finally have my answer, thanks to this video! Having lived in Alaska through the 60's and 70's I just have not been able to understand what has happened. It used to be "live and let live" and now it is SO conservative. Now I understand that it happened during the pipeline years...the Conservative Christians arrived from Texas and Oklahoma and that is when it changed. We saw many changes during the late 70's but I never equated this as part of it. During this election year I kept shaking my head at how it appears to have changed...well that is when it started. Thanks for this video!

WOW! A brilliant summary of SP's rise to power, and the means and methods used.

Mr. Talbot also highlights one of the issues unique to ExGino, and the ultimate reason she should be in handcuffs: an amoral disregard of the physical safety of others.

I don't find it scary that Talbot was accurate. He's a good reporter; he did his homework. Sarah Palin is not that complicated. What you see is all there is. She's a wacko "Christian warrior." (Oh, by the way, that's an oxymoron, a "Christian warrior") Palin is the lunatic fringe, in a wig, winking for Jesus; now she's back to posing at gun shows. John McCain should be ashamed.

  7. excellent work finding this. Plenty of people had shivers up their spine about her at that time but this guy put it into such simple words and concepts while still being gracious and tactful. She is a "true believer" and while this may be in part a product of her environment rather than concious choice, it is still a very dangerous thing to those who are not and this attitude in positions of power naturally lead to abuses and oppression of those that beg to differ with "the word/will of God"

And also, too, these divisive Christians are everywhere and growing in number and influence. Last night in the grocery store I struck up a conversation with a woman in an AF uniform. How religion came into it, I don't know, nonetheless, she was extremely well-versed in biblical knowledge. I think the encounter was synchronicity for me, as I've thought often about rejecting Christianity altogether because of the fundamentalist trends emerging. We had a great rapport and I really was enjoying talking to her, feeling like some of my recent questioning was being answered. But then, this very nice, knowledgeable christian started to tell me about how this country was founded as a christian nation and about the many things that God "hates." (bing - up went the red flag for me!) So, we parted ways. Nicely, I might add. If she hadn't "gone there" with the founding fathers, hate talk, and very strict disapproval of gays I might have even visited her church. I think I was especially dismayed that this was one of our armed forces members and I was reminded of something I read somewhere that there is a fundmentalist movement going on in the armed forces as well. That those groups are campaigning and converting among them. It's scary, really. These are $arah Palin's people. I almost wish I didn't even know about it :(

    Just thought I'd share.

It is not that he figured out Sarah Palin... it is simply a case of being truthful.

I wish more MSM reporters told the unvarnished truth.

Todd's involvement in the AIP never received the air time it deserved... MSM was intimidated into not covering it.

I hope Sarah runs for nomination in 2012. Her GOP opponents will shove AIP and babygate stories down her throat sideways.

My true hope is she is in jail for housegate in the near future.

Take a look at Talbot's ideas re the JFK assasination: He put out a book in 2007 ("Brothers. . . ", and you can look at a one-hour video of him talking about it: Talbot presents the view of the assasinaion that Bobby had, his personal view, not his for-public-consumption view. Go to www.FORA.tv and search his name.

  11. Yep, they're everywhere. They're certainly here in KS. Sorry they've made such a sea change in AK, Pat. It's an odd phenomenon for ratioinal folks to grasp, but this version of Christianity goes with oil, power, black and white thinking, and a world view entirely based on "us" versus "them" and the apocolypse. Crazy, stupid, self-centered and short-sighted. . .

  12. I don't wanna offend any Jehovah's Witnesses out there
My son's aunt is JW and is a pure heart .... walks the walk all that and is warm

BUT I wanted to point out that the JW peeps are schooled! From a young age they give talks in public ...and the Bible they read is written by the Watch Tower (its not all warped don't worry pretty similar to the real deal).. as is all the literature they read. It is not blatant lies or anything just ..slanted a certain direction.
Because I grew up hillbilly Baptist I was curious so got a book of questions to ask a JW should they come to your door sorta thing.. I asked a lady I knew that was JW to read the book so she could disprove it to me..
She almost couldn't look at it like it was evil and said for her to read anything like that would be called .. oh she used some big word which translates to blasphemy against God
I don't think her church allows them to read anything other than what is printed by the Watch Tower regarding God.. could be wrong..

WITH THIS.. I see the Sarah Movement.. ooops warriors for God .. having similar tactics.. they know the bible up to yin yang.. a slanted version.. slanted isnt always bad.. but when it is slanted .. it is slanted. In the Warrior for Jesus movement it is slanted towards everything I find anti Jesus
To me, it is heck with Jesus.. that whole turning the cheek, praying for your enemies.. all those parables to teach you how to deal with life.. oh poooey! Its not workin' people! It just makes us weak and self-less.. hey that is no fun!!
Not to get all end times.. but I think these are the peeps God will have a heavy hand on.. those that say there is no God and are up to all sort of evil little dittys.. will get a softer hand.

The Bible is metaphor; men wrote it, men edited it. It's that simple.
I am a Christian and I know that much is absolute fact.

I have been through the born again Christian movement and have friends in the arena. What turned me off was their inability to listen to anything other than what their pastors told them. They would turn off completely and tell me that the devil was speaking through me. Strange, but they believed it. it killed a few friendships. What turned me off to the movement is the believe that once born again, they will be forgiven whatever they do. It promotes an irresponsibility for their actions I believe.

The military issue is strange but true. Have been following alot of the church/state issues since Bush came into office. It's definitely an organized, planned movement.

I'm for separation of church and state. Religious is a private, personal issue.

Yep, Talbot understands and says what every MSM reporter is afraid to, but in fairness, he is on a religion show, and MSM reporters are on political shows.

I'm in Texas, and for the longest time, Christian meant Southern, anti-Yankee, because Texas was Democrat even till the 90's. Then the fundies took over, and Christian now means anti-Yankee, anti-Liberal, anti-Democrat.

I just have a hard time understanding the fundie Texas oil worker takeover in Alaska, because chances are they were Democrats. Just like I'm wondering where the people came from that changed Texas politics to repubs. It was probably just cyclical party roll-over that occurs throughout US history.

But, the whole Christian thing is no different than the Taliban. A group claiming to be religious that just wants to take over politics. The Catholics did it and are trying to get back into it. The Mormons did it and are trying a new angle with the gay thing to go national, but the fundies are doing it better. Probably because of the prosperity message, and it's a heck of a lot easier to be a fundie preacher and open a business than to be a priest or a Mormon bishop. Greed is the ultimate message that reverberates with anybody.

If we don't regulate this Christian thing, it will prove a crisis just like the financial meltdown. We've got to do something like the European model that really shuns religion in politics. Politics must be about democratic debate, and has no place for voodoo and hocus pocus.

That was indeed quite insightful...and the gentleman had her pegged from the git-go. That has been my problem w/ the X-Guv all along ...as she came outta the gate perpetrating a fraud; not to mention stirring the pot of racial hatred, from an alleged Christian viewpoint. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned...but she's not getting away with it.

Saddest of all is that she is so cunning as to deceive so many...which is a real indictment against this nation. That very same Christian logic promulgated the wretched indecency of slavery; and the entrenched mindsets that we see to this day.

The Air Force is a hotbed of fundie activity. Many diaries on DailyKos archives, if you want to know more. Many lawsuits by Jewish and other soldiers who were adversly affected because they didn
t want to be born again! Now the Gov is paying to build mega churches on military bases. ugh.

Jesus wouldn't care if his taxes helped others pay for healthcare. (god helps those who help themselves, is NOT In the Bible BTW)

It is all about teh gay and saving the babies. They have been brainwashed that only this matters. Why not trust your God to judge everyone unless you secretly think god is dead or not doing his job?

My theory is that Christians have waited so long for the second coming that never comes, that they have decided to take matters into their own hands and control and judge everyone here and now.

With all the ranting about how mean the MSM was to Palin, I just can't understand how so much of her background was simply ignored. Her support of AIP (most recently in 2008!), her connections with the frightening fundamental religious movement, the carefully planned and executed effort to place her in increasingly higher positions of power, her repeated incompetence in the positions she held...WHY was none of this brought to the public's attention during the campaign? And why did McCain choose someone with so much baggage that could have proven disastrous to the country????

  25. The negative influence of the teachings of the Jehovah's Witnesses on Michael and his family have been either downplayed or totally ignored for as long as the Jackson Family has received public attention. For those readers who really want to know what life is like to be reared in the WatchTower Cult, nothing beats real world scenarios, and of real world scenarios, nothing beats actual civil and criminal court cases.

The following website summarizes 900 court cases and lawsuits involving children of Jehovah's Witness Parents. The summaries demonstrate how JW Families rear their children and live life day-to-day. Also included are nearly 400 CRIMINAL cases -- most involving MURDERS:

DIVORCE, BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS, AND OTHER LEGAL ISSUES AFFECTING CHILDREN OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES

    http://jwdivorces.bravehost.com

Excerpts from LaToya Jackson's own 1991 biography, LATOTA: GROWING UP IN THE JACKSON FAMILY:

" ... neither I nor my siblings ever led a normal existence, not even as small children, years before celebrity transformed our lives. We were a not-so-typical but classic dysfunctional family. Yes, there was love and happiness, but it was poisoned by emotional and physical abuse, duplicity, and denial. ... The proscriptions of my Jehovah's Witness faith, my mother's seeming love and devotion, and my father's inability to express any emotion but anger kept us all entangled in a web of guilt disguised as love, brutality that was called 'discipline,' and blind obedience that felt like loyalty. ... We couldn't identify it, but we all sensed something was wrong in our house. -- pages 1-2.

"Thinking back over all those years, I realized that Mother was the guiding force behind the cruelty and abuse. This lady who pretended to be so gentle on the surface had in fact caused all the turmoil in our lives. We'd always thought that it was Joseph, but it was her, telling him what to do and how to do it. Like I'd said to her before, she was always throwing the rock and hiding her hand, convincing everyone -- outsiders and my own siblings -- that she was sweet, kindhearted, and compassionate. Little did they know that the minute they were out of earshot she talked about them very, very viciously. After seeing it so many times, I finally had to face the fact that this was her true personality. -- page 257.

"Michael and I were very active in the Jehovah's Witness faith. ... Five days a week the two of us and Mother studied the Bible at home and attended the Kingdom Hall. ... Every morning Michael and I witnessed, knocking on doors around Los Angeles, spreading the word of Jehovah. ... As my brother's fame grew, he had to don convincing disguises, like a rubber fat suit he bought years later, -- pages 53-4.

"... because we were supposed to associate exclusively with other members, Michael and I made few friends at the private high school. -- pages 55-56.

"Mother ... frowned on our socializing with white kids, an attitude I found hypocritical coming from a Christian. -- page 34.

"... both my parents harbor racist attitudes, particularly against Jews, ... 'Wherever you go, whatever you do in this business, you find a Jew,' Mother used to complain bitterly all the time, 'I can't stand it.' ... She'd go on and on. 'They're always on top. Jews are so nosy. They like controlling you. I hate 'em all.' To their faces, however, my mother was as sweet as could be. ... Hearing talk like this turned my stomach, especially when it came from my mother's mouth. How could a religious woman be so hateful? ... The depth of Mother's loathing was expressed in one of her oft-repeated opinions: 'There's one mistake Hitler made in his life -- he didn't kill all those Jews. He left too many dxxx Jews on this earth, and they multiplied,' --pages 132-4.

    Thanks, Gryphen, for sharing.

This is a tough subject because I do not belong to any church doctrine. That is why I strongly advocate for separation of church and state. I do not want someone telling me what I should or should not believe. The secret rapture thing came from a series of books. Not biblical, period. (Oh, no, they think I'm a witch!) [Rev. 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.] No secret mentioned there. Also see Matt. 24:27-28.

Thanks, again, Gryphen. Keep up the good work!

  30. I love the way he explains it in plain simple terms. It really is not all that complicated. When looking at all the crazy twisted stunts they pull it seems complex. But, the truth of it is they have an agenda, they have a lot of uneducated sheeple, and they do what they are told, often in a very subgenious way. That creates all the nutty crap we are seeing.
I have been harmed by these people in a direct way when I had no idea what was going on. I did frequently comment on how most of them were from the south(but not all of them), backwards and uneduated, and on the religious right fringe. They are not what I consider Christians, I know real Christian behavior and that is not it. What they do is sociopathic. I know one thing, if I move out of Alaska I am not going to the south. I experiment with different places in the south by commenting in online papers about Palin. I usually get almost violent reactions. But in some places I point them to the truth, such as this blog and they come back and say they are thankful because none of them had that info.
