My friend Writing Raven has a follow up on the attack of the Alaskan native man in Anchorage.

I urge you to click the title and visit Alaska Real to see an interview with victim Eddie Barr and get the perspective that only a fellow native Alaskan like Raven can provide.

    I'm sorry, I kinda took things out on you, I have read the librarians advise on anonymity and witnessed the ordeals with your own-self and AKM. I realize my precariousity in that when an adversary outens you, they do so with an intent on ruination; of your reputation, your livelihood and your life. It's just so damn discouraging.

    This is his land no white man has a claim to it, look what they did to the Cherokee or all other Indian Nations , took what wasn't there's and destroyed it.

    Beautiful post by Raven! When I saw your post here, Gryph, I couldn't at first go to Raven's site. I had to walk around the block and have a glass of wine, and even then I wasn't sure if my eyes could handle the crying I knew I would be doing.

    Yep, I was right about the tears part! But if you haven't read Raven's post, I suggest you do because you just need to hear this from an Alaskan Native point of view. I'm one quarter Aleut, but due to having a red haired, fair skinned father I do not look a bit Aleut. Most of my cousins (there's a bunch!) and of course all of my aunts and uncles (a bunch there, too!) look very Native and so I have seen times such as these through their eyes for many years.

    Thank you Raven and Gryphen! I needed to read this. Eddie Barr, you are my hero!

    I first read of Eddie Barr being attacked in your Anch. Newspaper, MUDFLATS and the Alaska Report News.

    I was sadden, heartwrenched and angry to know that another person was attacked, and insulted because of his native heritage.

    I hope these two hate criminals will be punished to the fulest extent of the Law.

    The police and the courts also need to assure the Native citizens that these hate crimes will be dealt with. Perhaps when they do justice..the First people will start to report these crimes...knowing they will have the full and honest support of the police and courts.

    Sincerely, Eileen { aka EileensHoot }
