Wow Shannyn was great as usual.
I apologize for being so late to post this but I was on my way to Mark Begich's Health Care Townhall when I learned about it (Apparently it was last minute for Shannyn as well), then attended the True Diversity Dinner, and afterward went with Shannyn to pick up Max Blumenthal from the airport. And yes there is a very long post about my evening coming soon. Just as soon as I fully recover from it.

By the way keep in mind that Sarah Palin's church promotes the idea that Israel plays a pivotal role in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Her concern and empathy for the Jewish people only exists to ensure that they will play their part in bringing forth the Rapture.
After that they will be incinerated and Sarah believes she will be sitting at the right hand of the Lord. It is kind of like inviting your friends to go to an amazing party with you, using them to give you an excuse to drive in the carpool lane to save time, and then right before you get there taking them out of the car and shooting them in the head. "Sorry, no Rapture for you!"
I have to admit, you do have a lock on understanding Sarah's twisted, perverted view of religion.

I have always been offended by the patronizing attitude that fundagelicals have toward Israel and the Jews. They view them as valued hunting dogs who they will gladly abandon to the field when their job is done. A very weird kind of deferred-gratification Anti-Semitism.
ReplyDeleteSome of this stems from a VERY shallow theology which arises from a literalist reading of the Bible. Other elements, such as Christian American exceptionalism and millenialism have been created out of whole cloth and have no Biblical basis whatsoever.
You can't anything to these theologians, however. "God helps those that helps themselves." It's in the Bible, don't ya' know. Hezekiah 6:1.
Thanks for posting this Gryphen, I missed it last night. So Sarah Palin now thinks hatred and intolerance have no place in the world today, does she? I agree with Shannyn that it might be then appropriate to convey that message to her followers. Look forward to more about Max Blumenthal. Just finished his book; needless to say it is a real eye-opener, even for someone like me who grew up in a strict Southern Baptist atmosphere.
ReplyDeleteI really wonder why more Jewish organizations aren't aware of this, or maybe they are. My boyfriend who is Israeli says he is glad gor their support. I have been trying to educate him about how dangerous and nutty they are.
