Go read Geoffrey Dunn's Huffington Post piece called "American Gomorrah-Did Palin Cost the GOP the 2008 Election?"

Wonderful piece! Forgive me for enjoying this portion the best:

For far too many years, there's been a culture of "pack journalism" on the campaign trail, as embedded reporters feed off the same press releases and same handouts, fearing to break new ground. As Eric Boehlert notes in Bloggers on the Bus, his delightful chronicle of the progressive blogosphere (or "netroots nation," as it's known), independent voices from the Internet "influenced and altered the road to the White House." In particular, a rag-tag army of articulate progressive bloggers from Alaska did the public vetting of Sarah Palin that the mainstream media failed to do. They were ahead of the curve every step of the way.

Just click the title to read his entire article.

He's right; without the Alaska progressive bloggers NONE of the shit on Palin would ever have made it into print. You guys deserve a Medal of Freedom for saving the nation. Midnight Cajun

  2. Did y'all see this very interesting line:

. . . startling revelations about Palin's behavior on the campaign trail continue to leak slowly, albeit steadily, from McCain operatives. -- interesting because it is dated yesterdayday 9/5 rather than months ago.

Does anyone have a link to the transcripts mentioned in paragraph 16?

Thank goodness for the Alaska Bloggers! I found you shortly after McCain announced Palin as his running mate and haven't left. I was a Hillary supporter early on, and wasn't sure about McCain or Obama after Hillary bowed out. After McCain picked Palin, it was obvious to me who I would vote for. Palin was such a poor choice, even my spouse who was a McCain supporter from the get-go found he could not vote for a republican ticket.
Gryphen, I am so happy you are still dogging Palin. Keep it up. I don't ever want that B***h unleashed on us again.

Hate to be OT but noticed Phil from Progressive Alaska was hacked yesterday. Appears he was hit by this scam. I can't seem to leave a comment on his blog so someone please pass this on to him as well as post other places. MSNBC did a spotlight on this today. It's exactly what happened to Phil.

AK bloggers have done a great job, but it is not finished.

Keep posting information about Sarah until the entire truth is out in the open.

The vetting of Sarah has not ended...

  6. My husband and several friends - all life-long Republicans - were horrified by the Palin choice.
While most of them have nothing against her personally (they do not "know" what we know), they strongly felt that she was in NO WAY ready to be President if anything happened to McCain.
Even these die-hard Republicans found it obvious that she did not have the intelligence to lead our Nation. For those that claim she "energized" the base: Maybe so, but that "energy" did not equate to votes (except in the case of Evangelicals and Dominionists). For Republicans outside of the religious groups, it equated into disgust with McCain's "gimmick," and they voted for Obama. A few of them, including my husband, left the Republican Party over it. Yaay husband.

Yep, bloggers were the first ones to raise the questions and will ultimately provide the answers. The ramifications in both the worlds of politics and journalism will be staggering.

  8. Hallelujah! Yea! I am jumping up and down ... yes, thank you Alaskan Bloggers. I have said it repeatedly, but will reiterate: you saved my sanity! I could not have made it through the campaign and election without you. Thank you so much. Now, let's keep on until our feat is accomplished and then beyond to celebrate Alaska!

  9. For myself, I really didn't care who won (I really felt sorry for whoever won because of the mess that W was leaving for the next POTUS), until Palin started being interviewed. When she didn't know the job of the VPOTUS. When she didn't know that Africa was a Continent and not a Country. When her rallies turned into hatefests. And the clincher was when she refused to answer some questions at the VP debate and wanted to address some other issue. I definitely knew then that she was an idiot that couldn't think on her own and that she shouldn't be near the White House.
That's when I started looking up anything Palin to find out exactly what was McCain thinking and I came across the Alaskan Bloggers who knew her better than any of us outside of Alaska did. It became my mission to inform friends and family about this woman's lack of integrity and ethics.
    Thank you Alaskan Bloggers!

Yes indeedy, we may be a HUGE state geographically, but we are connected by technology. It didn't take long for people to notice we had a lying, incompetent, lazy, back-stabbing,drama queen elected Governor.

It looks like her divisive magic is costing Beck and Fox News also too so that's a good thing.

Former Governor Frank Murkowski made a startling observation about former Governor Sarah Palin on my radio show yesterday. Murkowski wondered if Palin quit because prospects of the gas pipeline were dimming. I also asked Murkowski if he planned on buying Palin’s book. 0/T - but for you Republicans out there who took one look at her and knew you couldn't vote for her...A trip down memory lane..."Palin Fails Focus Group," with GOP pollster Frank Luntz, right after her nomination in 2008

    EPIC FAIL

I remember Dunn's first piece against Sarah when she was nominated. . .written from the POV of a parent of a handicapped child.

He totally reamed her out on her lackluster support of the disabled and children and teenaged mothers in Alaska (which she was hurriedly trying to put behind her. . .)

    Powerful stuff.

    Dunn's piece, that is. . .

Sarah missed the basket on that one.

Sales rank at B & N - that didn't last long. Just like after her RNC acceptance speech, it was all downhill from there.

  18. Thanks to the Alaska bloggers who knew the truth and continued to tell it despite criticism. The MSM is owned by a few huge corporations. The reporters only write about what they are allowed to report.

I was just discussing this subject with a neighbor. I remember last November waiting in a long line to vote. Our area once was heavily Republican. Today, it is trending Democratic. The Old Guard confessed in line, while waiting to vote, that they could not vote for Sarah. They could not imagine her in a position of power, and the thought of it scared them.

I know, we shouldn't have been discussing this in the polling place, but Sarah upset local Republicans so much that they could not keep it to themselves. You see, our Republicans are the moderate kind, the the Religious Right kind. The new Religious Right is scaring them silly! I hope we can count on Sarah to further divide and diminish the Republican Party. They chose her; they deserve her.

    Gryphen,

I'm sure you're already aware of this now, but Levi soon does a shoot for Playgirl. Don't know if he should or not, but I'll say this about Levi, everytime I see this kid (new nut commercial included) he doesn't show the slightest bit of arrogance or bravado. In fact quite the opposite, he appears a little embarrassed and a little unsure of himself which makes me believe his intent is purely 'innocent' so to speak. He needs to make big money to take care of his children, not to mention his mother and family. He appears to be the kind of kid that would want to take care of his loved ones.

Scarah is doing her part to dismantle the Republican party for good.

They need to apologize to America for their careless, reckless, dangerous, cynical choice.

  22. anon@3:34 -- I agree. Playgirl sure isn't my thing, but I'm not going to second-guess Levi if he poses. In his shoes, I might do the same to provide for my family or earn money for an education. Let us judge not. He is not running for public office or seeking a leadership role. I bet there are a lot of us who say to Levi, as I do: do what you have to do -- we support your right to do it and respect your probable reasons for doing it.

So when will she be appearing on "Meet the Press" to discuss her views on the war Afghanistan with David Gregory in front of the whole country? They're HER views aren't they? She should be able to discuss them fluently.

From Palin'e latest facebook post yesterday:

*Note: Schweizer’s book is a real eye-opener. The sections on ACORN are quite informative.

Interesting that this book was just published yesterday -- Product Details

    * Hardcover: 240 pages
    * Publisher: Harper (October 6, 2009)

Man, she can not only write fast - she reads fast too! What a woman!! She's so full of it she makes me sick.
