Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey
Beck is an opportunistic televangelist that preaches his own brand of "end times" theology, distorting even common events with the most sinister meaning.
Because he is a member of my parent's church, they hang on his every word, and his toxic rants has them terrified.
I just despise Beck, and my tiny act of rejection of him and his horror show is to turn over the copies of his book, so the back cover picture of his pouting, teary, baby-man face is facing outward.
Yep, Silver Gopher was funny. But Colbert has demolished Beck before... and before... and before... with greater effect, and less bloviation. It was a retread of 'greatest hits', and I kept thinking, "You've said that before!"
There are other issues that could use Colbert's searing attention -- I'd settle for two minutes on reproductive rights, three on California's determination to dismantle its school system (while selling drilling rights for pennies, five feet off Huntington Beach)and how about the banks' physical removal of customers who try to talk about revisiting impossible mortgage payments?
Beck is discredited. FOX is still the only free news service delivered overseas. And our president is being bribed with shiny objects and coin to at least consider not going into Iran.
I saw this and I agree. This is probably one of the best bits Colbert has ever done! And that's saying a lot.
ReplyDeleteSeven minutes well spent, it is hilarious.
ReplyDeleteStephen Colbert rules!!!

Instead of Beck's or Palin's book, I wholeheartedly recommend "The Lost Symbol" by Dan Brown.
