Here are just a few of the incredible quotes from this book. Oh this is REALLY good stuff!
— The awkward goodbye with McCain: McCain and Palin parted ways that night after she saw him getting into a Chevy Suburban outside the Arizona hotel where the campaign had gathered on election night. The conversation went like this: “‘John? Is that you?’ Palin asked. Cindy [McCain] was already in the car, and the senator had just given a final hug to his press secretary and personal aide, Brooke Buchanan. He spun around. ‘Oh, hey. How are you, Sarah?’ ‘Are you leaving?’ ‘Yup, we’re out of here.’ Palin paused. ‘Okay, well, good night.’ ‘Yes, good night. We’re headed back to the house.’ The now former running mates exchanged final pat-on-the-back hugs and a muffled thank you or two.
Sounds like the end of a bad blind date where both people realize they cannot stand each other.
– The really awkward part: After the McCains had left, Palin wanted to take pictures with her family on the hotel ballroom stage, though a lot of TV crews were still filming. McCain staffers got wind of it and freaked out, thinking Palin was going to give her concession speech after all. After a round of frantic telephone calls, instructions filtered down from McCain campaign manager Steve Schmidt to turn the lights down. Palin stayed posing on the stage anyway, prompting senior McCain staffer Carla Eudy to tell Palin aide Jason Recher: “You never had control of her. Get control of her! Get her ass off stage!” Recher’s response? “The campaign ended tonight, and so did you.
Standing on stage having your picture taken when suddenly the lights are turned out, just a little too subtle for Sarah Palin.
–Telling the kids: Palin couldn’t bring herself to tell her children she had accepted McCain’s offer to be his running mate. “The governor decided not to deliver the life-changing news herself. Instead, she asked Steve Schmidt to tell her children that their worlds were about to be turned upside down.” There’s no explanation for why this happened – but Conroy and Walshe do point out that the timeline means the children weren’t asked for their permission, as Palin suggested during the campaign.
What? You mean Sarah did NOT gather the family and ask them if she should accept McCain's offer to run as his VP? There was no "Hell yeah!" from one unnamed participant? You mean she LIED?
– Two telling comments: “I just don’t want to go back to Alaska,” Palin said during an argument over whether she could bring up Obama’s controversial former pastor, Jeremiah Wright. In an email, she referred to the “VP campaign,” which Walshe and Conroy write “seemed at odds with the unified team that theoretically made up the McCain/Palin ticket.”
"I don't want to go back to Alaska. I don't care what kind of racially charged, libelous statements I have to make about that terrorist loving Muslim, just keep me the hell out of Wasilla!"
--A growing preoccupation with bloggers: There’s not a lot about why Palin resigned this past summer as Alaska governor after less than a full term, except that it had something to do with “the extent to which she had allowed her critics in Alaska to get to her. The woman who had steadfastly faced down powerful oil companies two years earlier had now become preoccupied with bloggers.”
What? She left office because of the Alaska bloggers? Holy crap!
You know what's funny is that I figured out that Sarah was reading my blog sometime after the election. There were a couple things that she did which seemed in direct response to posts I had written. But still....to see it in a book.....wow!
I have just one thing to say.
Good Morning Sarah! I hope you slept well. What is on the agenda for today?
Update: I almost forgot about this interview with Sarah Palin back in January.
You can really see that she flat does NOT like those "anonymous bloggers". And yet WHO is she talking to?
P.S. Listen for the loud horn that blares around the 1:21 mark. Did you notice that Trig did not react?
Update 2: Apparently TeamPalin tried to intimidate the authors of this book into leaving Alaska.
Update 3: More from the authors here. (H/T to Kajo.)
Great blog, Gryphen. During the campaign, I realized Sarah did not have the experience I felt was necessary to be the VP. However, I felt she might be able to grown with time. I started visiting the AK blogs, ADN and reading her press releases after her return to AK. I was curious whether she would be able to take the experience of the VP run and return to AK with renewed vigor and determination or return to AK and be a destructive force.
ReplyDeleteThe time on the AK blogs have been an eye opening experience for me and I am sure countless other people in the Lower 48. It appears that small doses of Sarah Palin are much more palatable than a large dose of Palin. While I don't even want to see this woman near the White House, I do wish her financial success.
Good morning Sarah!
ReplyDeleteWho gave birth to Trig, and when, and where?
You know she will never run in 2012, except as a third party. Most Republicans and Independents are too smart for such a stupid idea.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like an entertaining book. I hope it outsells Sarah's version. (We know her's will be fact-checked. Does she know?)
Hmmmm, why would the McCains leave without saying a fond goodbye to Sarah??? What could it be? Well, among probably myriad reasons, maybe it could be because of her little concession speech stunt? Just spitballing here.
ReplyDeleteNot telling her kids personally that she would be the VP pick is just typical of a mother who could not care less about her kids. Forget that it was news that would change their lives, how about that it was wonderful news for her? Didn't she want to share that with her children? No. Better to have a guy that they don't know from Adam tell them.
Note to the first commentor. = Yes, Alaskans could put up with Palin as Governor for a term, because she had a hard-working legislature (bi-partisan) who provided the checks and balances. When she was selected as VP by McCain (who never consulted Republican leaders in Alaska), we went whole hog to "protect" America from her. I never worked or donated so hard in my life to support the Obama/Biden ticket. Alaskan Democrats were phonebanking to all the states (especially swing states) to GOTV, and the magnificent bloggers like Gryphen were hard at work to get the truth out, because we may love our state, but we put our Country First (not her, obviously).
ReplyDeleteWhy, good mornin', Sarah, dear! Here are a few helpful tips for you as you sip your java:
ReplyDelete1. Give up politics. It's over for you. Get over it and move on . . .
2. Hey--get a reality show! I'm sure cable channels would be falling all over themselves to pick it up and pay you the BIG bucks. Then you can truly aspire to your inner Kate Gosselin, only without the eight grubby little kids to upstage you. I guarantee you'll have TONS of fans on both sides of the political arena--your usual base, and the rest of us who will be drawing a heavy sigh of relief that you're no longer a danger to the entire world, just a danger to the rest of the cast and the TV crew.
3. Or you could introduce a line of low-priced clothing and signature eyeglasses. Or, how about housewares, linens and furniture--perfect for decorating that trailer? If you're lucky, you can eventually have your very own magazine, like Martha Stewart or Oprah.
4. And, if you ever need help with a collection of commemorative Palin plates or Sarah figurines (shootin' wolves, field dressin' moose, posin' in red high-heeled pumps, or doin' some fancy pageant walkin'), I have an "in" with a really big company. I swear to whomever's in charge, you'll clean up. Really.
Ciao!
Wow, I wonder how her supporters in Alaska will feel when they hear that Sarah just didn't want to be in Alaska anymore....
ReplyDeleteAnd Sarah if you are reading this remember.....you should be afraid of the Alaskan Bloggers, your secrets will get out sooner or later....lies never stay hidden...
Gryphen,
ReplyDeleteAs for Trig not reacting there can only be two explainations...either he has a hearing problem or he was drugged up on benadryl.
I finished the book last night and gave it a 5 star review on Amazon. I really thought it was a well-written, UNBAISED look at her campaign and the months following, leading up to her resignation last summer. I said that I was a Palin-loather and ardent Democrat, and was impressed by the authors who included the good with the bad. I said that supporters and non-supporters alike would find the book worthwhile reading, and that the authors were so fair that I honestly could not discern their political leanings from their writing!
ReplyDeleteI think it is one of the best-written campaign books I've read this year. I certainly still loathe Sarah Palin after reading the book, but I feel as if I understand her a little better.
Gryphen, I feel you can recommend this book for the writing and unbiased work.
"I just don't want to go back to Alaska."
ReplyDeleteyeah that's how much she loves you, alaska!! she's doing it all for you, alaska!
on another note - she had a campaign staffer tell her kids? whoa! wtf is that? did she all-of-a-sudden start believing she needed a "messenger" because she was so important now that she couldn't communicate directly with her kids? why has no one in her family done an intervention? she's nuts!
oh and one more time:
"I just don't want to go back to Alaska."
Yes CR46, Trig is hearing impaired.
ReplyDeleteThis was the first time I realized it.
If you see pictures of him today you will see him with glasses and hearing aids. Poor little guy.
Why is everyone shocked she didn't tell the kids about her VP selection. After all, she didn't tell them about her 5th "pregnancy" with a Downs baby no less. Talk about changing your life!
ReplyDeleteGryphen, Thanks for the report. The excerpts I've seen seem very balanced which makes statements like: "I don't want to go back to Alaska. I don't care what kind of racially charged, libelous statements I have to make about that terrorist loving Muslim, just keep me the hell out of Wasilla!" all the more damning. Slightly O/T there seems to be a lot vicious, scared trolls around. Be safe!
ReplyDeleteIn that video interview, Palin says, "Alaska is such a wonderful place to live."
ReplyDeleteThen, why didn't she want to return? She knew she burned her bridges; she knew her underhanded activities would be come to light; she knew that actual work wasn't her forte, but the limelight was (is)...
Unfortunately for "us" - politics has more opportunity for the limelight than being a talk show host or a Martha Stewart type gig.
I am buying Sarah from Alaska today. Great analogy Gryphen about the end of an awkward date when you realize you can't stand each other! Lots of great questions for Oprah and Barbara Walters here. I just can't see her holding herself together enough to answer the questions that will inevitably come out. Every time I think there is nothing about Palin that will surprise me, I have to say that letting a total stranger tell her children about her running on a national ticket did surprise me. No parent who has the best interest of their children would do that. Under any circumstance.
ReplyDeleteAs for "I just don't want to go back to Alaska" that certainly comes as no shock. You could see from the very start of her return "to the great State of Alaska" that she was bored and had no interest what so ever in being there. Yep, Alaska the Quitter Queen gave it up all for you.
And I wonder whose job it is to see the batteries in those tiny little hearing aids are working every day, and to make sure Trig doesn't take them out and hide them in the sofa cushions?
ReplyDeleteNot his "mother", I'll bet -- she's making plans to dump him and take a road trip with only the token husband and brainwashed youngest daughter in tow.
hearing and vision impairment seems to be common in Down's Syndrome. i just read a few websites devoted to that topic. it is a shame that palin took the path of negativity and diviseness because the public could easily have been involved in the education and understanding of DS children in a loving and positive manner.......alas. but i will still keep reading about the condition, as friends of mine have children with this condition and i feel better knowing more about what my friends are dealing with - especially the opportunities for improving the lives of the children into adulthood.
ReplyDeleteIt is so typically Palin to dismiss bloggers, people who 'hide' online to make accusations and unfounded comments, THEN she goes on to make Facebook her OFFICIAL means of communicating to the world!
ReplyDeleteShe knows she can't seriously debate any of the issues she brings up with well read/informed people, so she hides behind a FB page, or gives speeches where no questions are asked. Her book tour is full of interviews where 'fluff' and not 'content' will be discussed.
The sad part, to me, is that her fans are (like her) are the large minority of people who fear education, resist Science, and have the maturity of children who WANT to believe in Santa Claus or the tooth fairy so badly that they dismiss any logical thinking that would disprove their fantasies.
And, as we saw from 8 yrs of Dubya, they VOTE.
@ENOUGHwiththetrainwreck... You are so thoughtful and insightful! Perhaps, this is another indicator that Trig is not "her" child? Most mothers would use this high political platform/opportunity to advocate and educate for Down's Syndrome.
ReplyDeleteSarah Palin is a liar, hypocrite and fraud.
ReplyDeletePeriod.
How rich is the irony that she "wants those who lie to be held accountable"? Your lips to god's ear Sarah!
ReplyDelete"I just don't want to go back to Alaska." Yup, we could all see that one.
Thanks for the book review, SoCalWolfGal. I will take a look at "Sarah from Alaska" at my local B&N. I appreciate mxm book review also. I'll expect the first hundred page to be about her basketball games... yawn. I hope they included Sarah's email back and forth about Todd's AIP "mistake" to Steve Schmidt during the campaign.
Not surprised to see there was no "family vote" about the decision to run for VP, but to have a stranger inform her kids is the last degree of dismissive.
Poor kids, with a mom like her they will all need therapy to deal with how dysfunctional their family really is.
SARAH'S SPECTACULAR BUS TOUR OF 2009, A little FYI for anyone with an interest:
ReplyDeleteNoblesville is in Hamilton County, Indiana. H.C. is the suburban county immediately north of Indianapolis--one of intense growth, high median income and a growing collective IQ.
In October, 2008, SP made an appearance at the Verizon Wireless Music Center near Noblesville. She drew a crowd of about 20,000. I wasn't there, but newpaper accounts indicate that what she preached was pretty much the norm for her.
At the end of the day, she apparently left with pretty fuzzy feelings--no surprise, since Hamilton County is about as Red as you can get, without a need for calling the nearest fire department.
Anyway, fast forward to the November 4, 2008, election results for Hamilton County, Indiana:
Indiana Governor: R 83.33% - D 15.20%
Sup. of Public Inst: R 70.25% - D 29.72%
Attorney General: R 69.72% - D 30.28%
U.S. Representative: R 68.50% - D 31.42%
But, just for the record, (earth to SP) although Hamilton County is thickly populated with Republicans--they are not all complete idiots:
Of the 129,256 votes cast in Hamilton County for President of the U.S.:
John McCain: 60.65%
Barack Obama 38.44%
Compare:
Mitch Daniels (Gov) 83.33%
John McCain (Pres) 60.65%
A difference of: 22.68%
Simple math: 22.68% of the 129,256 votes is 29,315. Can't help but wonder if, 20,000 or so of these 29,315 voters, once they caught a glimpse of SP at Verizon Wireless Music Center RAN LIKE HELL!
P.S. If SP was allowed warm and fuzzy feelings after her visit to Noblesville a year ago--so much so that she wants to come back and liquidate her non-autobiography, surely that affords me the perrogative of using a little fuzzy math that reveals her "true impact" on the Republicans of Hamilton County.
BTW--Wal Mart is just across the highway from B&N in Noblesville--and has a lot more space. Maybe she should consider setting up a table next to the entrance (right next to the empty carts). She could spend the day selling her books--and maybe give some minimum wage greeter a much needed day off.
Gryphen and folks, be sure to also read the interview of Shushannah Walshe and Scott Conroy by Marc Ambinder, the Politics editor of The Atlantic Monthly online (I found the interview by way of a link to Andrew Sullivan's The Fix).
ReplyDeleteThere are more good little tidbits in that interview.
I had to chuckle when I read the interview mentioned in your Update #3. It mentioned that the McCain campaign successfully carried out the ''secret mission'' of plucking the sitting governor from Alaska unnoticed. I suspect Sarah's lousy work ethic and inabilty to keep a regular work schedule (or to show up to work where she should--Juneau) made it easy for her to disappear unnoticed. Maybe someone should have asked why such a ''valuable'' addition to the ticket was so dispensable from her current job.
ReplyDeleteI recall (in one interview) Sarah's response to McCain asking her to be his running mate was that she didn't even blink and said yes. On another interview, she said that she asked her kids and they said yes. And now it is revealed that she didn't even tell them herself.
ReplyDeleteSarah honey, when you lie, it's hard to keep the story straight and it comes back to bite you in the ass.
We know people who did not know their child was deaf until she was 2. The marriage broke up around then. Bet they accused each other..."how could you not have noticed!!"
ReplyDeleteSo, if there is minimal care, it is possible to miss deafness. And the father in my story is president of a major music company. Music...ironic.
"I just don't want to go back to Alaska"
ReplyDeleteGryphen, any chance that Bristol delivered Trig very premature (say, December or January) and was told that he died? Then Sarah started her "I'm pregnant" charade in March, fooling everyone, including her family and maybe even Todd if they no longer are intimate. That way neither Bristol nor Levi-- or your source-- would actually know the truth.
ReplyDeleteI can see Sarah being evil enough to do that to her own daughter.
Dear Sarah,
ReplyDeleteYour older children are hurting. When Track comes into 'town' for weekend leave, he has let friends know how tough this has been on them - especially Bristol.
They need to feel they are not just set-dressing in your strange new world.
Are you really willing to let your own ambition continue to damage the people who you are most responsible for protecting?
anon@8:13. She could also pick up the latest Walmart jammy set. In all colors.
ReplyDeleteGryphen: For those of your glassy-eyed readers who may have somehow missed it (I realize you're sitting on it but can't disclose it for obvious reasons) how about commenting on this):
ReplyDeletePalin's undelivered concession speech:
"Thank you all so much. It’s been just 68 days since that afternoon in Dayton, Ohio, when Senator McCain introduced me as his running mate. And at the time, for me, it felt that such a moment could never be matched…that I would never again feel so proud to have been chosen. But it turns out I was mistaken. Tonight, in hard and honorable defeat, I am more proud than ever to be the running mate and friend of a great man, Senator John McCain.
My fellow Americans, tens of millions of you shared our convictions and gave us your votes. And I thank you for your confidence. For us, it was not our time… not our moment. But it is our country… the winner will be our president… and I wish Barack Obama well as the 44th president of the United States.
If he governs America with the skill and grace we have often seen in him, and the greatness of which he is capable, we’re gonna be just fine.
And when a black citizen prepares to fill the office of Washington and Lincoln, that is a shining moment in our history that can be lost on no one. Barack Obama has achieved a great thing, for himself and for our country, and I congratulate him. God bless you and your beautiful family, President-Elect Obama.
I spoke this evening to the gentlemen from Delaware. And let me again congratulate this good man and his fine family on a wonderful moment in their lives. I wish Joe Biden only the best as our 47th vice president.
Among Todd’s many winning qualities are the gift of optimism and thankfulness in all situations. And I suppose I’ll be counting on those qualities a little more than usual in the days to come. But far from returning to the great State of Alaska with any sense of sorrow, we will carry with us the best of memories… and joyful experiences that do not depend on victory.
(Then there's some anecdotal asides about campaign memories, etc; which I am culling to get to the meat... .)
Above all, I am grateful to the man who took a chance on me. From that moment to this, I have had the rare enough privilege in politics of praising a candidate whose story, character, and personal heroism required no embellishment. I said things about him—about how valiantly he has served and what he has overcome—things he could not say about himself, because he is that kind of man. It would be a happier night if elections were a test of valor and merit alone, but that is not for us to question now. Enough to say it has been the honor of a lifetime to fight at the side of John S. McCain.
To the Senator, Cindy, and your amazing family—thank you. I honor you. I love you.
America has made her choice. As for me, my convictions, my loyalties, and my hopes for this country remain the same. Now it is time for us go our way, neither bitter nor vanquished, but instead confident in the knowledge that there will be another day… and we may gather once more… and find new strength… and rise to fight again. Thank you all.
May God protect, guide, and bless America!"
Watch Sarah about half way through when the interviewer asks her about the lies she says were told - she does this look away where she looks like she's about to lose it and the guy all of a sudden goes soft and sweet - and steps in to fill the uncomfortable silence by saying something like, "there were just too many, huh?" to which Sarah nods her head - like, thanks for bailing me out of that sad moment.
ReplyDeleteThis is so how she gets treated by guys - and not a few women - when it gets rough going, she cops this I'm-about-to-break-down routine - and heck, maybe she really was. But that's the point. She's the one who has routinely lied. She just hates that she's been caught in so many lies. She has ZERO experience in owning up to her lies.
This is so what I hope Oprah or Barbara will do: force her to face her lies and explain them. Ie. that she specifically told Sean that the family - incl. pregnant, hidden out of sight, 17 year old, unwed Bristol - had voted on whether she should accept the vp spot. The TRUTH is, and now we all know it - that Steve Schmidt had the job of telling the kids. Way to go Todd and Sarah.
And the REAL TRUTH is - for anyone in Wasilla who knows the truth about how this family works (and there's a lot of us - just nobody wants to cross the potential leader of the free world) Track, Bristol and Willow were incredibly resentful of Sarah being governor and being gone so much. The kids resented her job and her position. Yeah - they were really gonna give the thumbs up for her to become the VP. What a bunch of hooey.
Why don't we have an interviewer ask Sarah some of these real questions.
I think the reason she almost breaks down and cries here - and the reason she so loathed AK bloggers, is that you guys were the ONLY ones on the whole flippin planet doing any sort of investigative reporting. Shame on the adn and KTUU.
I just don't want to go back to Alaska
ReplyDeleteWow!
I just came back from Alaska, and I don't think that statement will go over very well with Alaskans....!
Not at all! Alaskan's really love their State when this gets out she will be finished! Maybe some Alaskans who know something will be pissed off enough to talk!
Anonymous @ 6:09:
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should contact Barbara Walters. She may not be aware that Palin's "15 minutes" expired five months ago.
I have no idea who Kate Gosselin is but I'm certain somebody who does has a lot of time on their hands to do such things.
You seem to be someone of great learning: what are your thoughts on De Tourqueville's belief that rule of the best man was not quaranteed by property holdings?
Yes Anon@8:13am Wal Mart is certainly more Palin's style that B&N, and it would be a really nice thing to do for all those people who will do doubt spend their hard-earned dollars on her book!
ReplyDeleteI am the mother of a deaf son. Trust me, it's a lot of work. Add to that the downs (which my son is not) and you've got your work cut out for ya. If it were me (and it was not) I would have told McCain no. Thanks for the offer, but this little guy needs me more than you do. Instead, she jumped on a plane with her kiddies and headed to Ohio. The little one became a prop, and the girls became instant nannys.
ReplyDeleteThe authors of the book did an interview with Marc Ambinder at The Atlantic and there is a very telling quote re SP by the authors, "Sarah Palin is someone who is heavily impacted by perceptions she gains from what she sees with her own eyes."
ReplyDeletePeople lacking in any kind of self-awareness tend to globalize their opinions (ie I know someone with red hair who xyz, therefore everyone with red hair xyz). This is Sarah Palin, and not unusual to find in people who hold extremist views.
I'm trying not to do the same thing myself - but there is actually some research supporting my statement :-)
I said the same to AKM on Mudflats: A great big THANK YOU for being one of the bloggers that helped to scuttle the Tundra Twit’s political career. You have done the nation a great service.
ReplyDeleteImagine if that moron had actually become VP. It makes one shudder.
Anonymous 10:09,
ReplyDeleteThis was conducted in a public place, in front of her children, and she DID graciously consent to a spontaneous interview. Being too confrontational would have been unseemly.
At least he did not ask for her name, how to spell it, and her occupation.
"I just don't want to go back to Alaska."
ReplyDeleteHi Gyphen,
ReplyDeleteI know that you are taking a lot of crap these past few days, weeks and months. I just wanted to thank you for the work that you do. I believe your story.I hope that knowing you "are inside" quitters head is payment for the crap that you have had to put up with.
This woman is toxic. She is selfish and is destroying her family also, too. She cares about no one but herself.
I hear that Cindy McCain is a very private person. I wish she would write a book. Or Meghan?
I can't wait for Sherry to get out of jail an get her life back. I feel for Mercede. I hope somebody is keeping a good eye on her.And I would love to see Levi get visitation rights to his kid/kids.
Levi is very handsome and polite. I hope he gets a career out of this. Let him get his visitation rights squared away first.
And once mamma is safe it will be time for his book.
I feel bad for Palins kids because of the neglect. And I pray for the safety and happiness of the Johnston family
NYC girl
Amazing that she has become the very same thing that she loathed just 9 months ago....someone with no job, who blogs endlessly on FACEBOOK, criticizing other politicians and our democratically elected President on their policies and practices. She stays in hiding, unless some group is stupid enough to fork over 6 figures for some word salad.
ReplyDeleteSarah Palin has become an anonymous blogger...her first victims:Hoffman, Baby, Hoffman, and Dede Scozzafava.
Many reader in Alaska probably know this but many who don't live here don't know this.
ReplyDeleteMany Alaskan quietly yearn to leave Alaska but it cannot be spoken openly because society doesn't approve of it and they will shun you or alienate you as a pariah. Your and Alaska hater!
Palin is one of those but so much of her image is about being "alaskan". It is this silent desperation that many Alaskans I know have. It quietly haunts them. For Sarah its probably torture.
It is unique to Alaska and its "rugged" alaskan mythology
"Are you really willing to let your own ambition continue to damage the people who you are most responsible for protecting?"
ReplyDeleteYes.
She's already proven that time and again. No one and nothing will stop her if she can help it. Sarah will keep going on as long as those who know stuff about her that can stop her keep their mouths shut.
Over at the Mudflats MadCity Chick left a link to a New York Daily News gossip blip that was kinda interesting -- for any of us who want to schedule their time around when The Quitter Gov is going to be interviewed by gossip mavens Oprah and Babs:
ReplyDeleteSarah Palin to do Oprah, Barbara Walters for 'Going Rogue' book tour
By Daily News Staff -- Thursday, November 5th 2009, 4:00 AM
Get ready to see a whole lot more of Sarah Palin.
The former Alaska governor and Republican vice-presidential candidate is hitting the road to sell her book "Going Rogue: An American Life," and she'll be on TV over and over.
Palin sits with Oprah Winfrey for an edition of Winfrey's show to air Nov. 16 at 4 p.m. on WABC/Ch. 7 (NY station).
Then, on Nov. 17, ABC kicks off a five-part series on Palin, the bulk of it being an interview with Barbara Walters. Walters will do the Q&A next week in New York. A crew is also being sent to Alaska to talk to Palin's family.
The interview breaks on "Good Morning America." A portion will air on "Nightline" the night of Nov. 17. More will air the next day on "Good Morning America," and even more on Nov. 20 on "20/20."
How come none of the Palinbots ever wonder about the well being of Trig. Just the great Sarah. Her and Toad travel around leaving Bristol with two babies. With all the medical issues that Trig has one would think that a mother would only intrust that type of care to themselves. It's a shame.
ReplyDeleteAnon 10:21 pm--
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU for saying what the rest of us are thinking. And you know. Having a child with disabilities is a full-time-plus job. If you raise them yourself, that is.
Mrs. Tarquin Biscuitbarrel
Wow, Anon 10:09, you sure do have sharp observational skills. (Maybe your day job is a profiler for the FBI?)
ReplyDeleteI think she used this ploy with great success on Wayne Anthony Ross. I remember that in one of his interviews he said something along the lines of how Sarah had been treated so savagely by the media she was "afraid to get out there". (Poor little Sarah! Maybe someone would ask her a hard question.) Anyway, the tone of the interview was very much that he was the big strong man who would protect her from those awful reporters.
Thanks to all who held up a microphone or camera to document this woman's behavior. In years to come, you might find your footage analyzed by mental health students for extra credit in their studies.
Somewhat off topic: Years ago my sister had a supervisor who would hold meetings and offer extravagant bonus gifts to her staff if they met certain goals, and then would deny she made any promises or that they misunderstood what she said. One day my sister pulled out a tape recorder during a staff meeting, and the supervisor, who was talking excitedly about a big upcoming project, suddenly fell silent, and walked out of the room.
It's really sad about the kids. For those of you who live there and are afraid to talk I don't understand. You would be doing those children and our country a huge favor! Are you afraid of someone talking about you or do you really think they might be violent. The reason abuse continues in families is because of secrecy. I truly hope someone gets the courage to speak up because it's the right thing to do. I don't live there so maybe there is something I don't understand though.
ReplyDeleteAnd Gryphen hang in there. A lot of the critics are trolls trying to distract. Not all of them are but they aren't in your shoes. I am confident you are doing the best you can and if you make some mistakes, hey you are human and people should ease up! Gryphen is taking more risks then any other blogger in Alaska when it comes to babygate! I give him a lot of credit. Whatever the truth is, they went to a lot of effort to cover it up.
To Sarah, we ar never going to give up until the truth is known. NEVER! You should come clean and be honest for once in your life. Stop thinking about yourself!! Your kids are hurting.
Anon@ 10:02
ReplyDeleteHow touching. How very, very touching. Thank you for sharing Sarah's would-be words with us.
Now, remind us all again, who was her speechwriter?
Wait, let me read it again.........oh, such heartfelt words! Just brings tears to my eyes...sniff...reminds me of the words of a song I heard years and years ago:
I stand for motherhood, America and a hot lunch for orphans.
Take off your hat sir, there's a tear-stained eagle passing.
Do you see them on the bridge at Waterloo--'neath that great triumphal arch....
Hm hmmm hmmhmm hmmhmm, hmmhmm hmm hmm humhumhum...
Or, how about this one?
I'm a wackydoodle dandy--wackydoodle do or lie.
A real live reject of my Uncle Sam, quit on the Fourth of July.
I've got a wackydoodle book here, it's my wackydoodle joy.
Wackydoodle went on tour to sell her latest novel,
Stuck a Staple on her bus--got on her knees to grovel.
Wackydoodle keep it up--wackydoodle dandy.
Don't you know that telling lies...
Hey! Wait a minute. Stop the bus!
Look at that guy standing over there all alone.
Isn't he that guy named "Hoffman" or something like that?
Really, Anon 10:02 --and I mean this in a kind way: By visiting this site, you are making your own life miserable. Are you sure that you should be taking on the added burden of trying to make our lives miserable, too?
There was a pop hit in the 60's? by R. Dean Taylor called, "Indiana Wants Me, Lord I Can't Go Back There." Sarah take heed.
ReplyDeleteGeez that poor babies neck looks like its breaking. The least she could do is hike him up on her shoulder alittle better- but that would interfere with her hairdo I guess. She is paying absoutely no attention to the kid's position.
ReplyDeleteTRisomy 21 children have a 20 fold increased risk for leukemia. Trig seems to have alot of needs and problems associated with trisomy 21. I sure hope that leukemia is not in his future as well. They would have to go to Seattle for treatment, at least to start, perhaps. That would be a sad way for Sarah to 'get out of Alaska"
I would bet that the reason Sarah had the McCain advisor tell her kids about her selection as VP was for the same reason that people break up in restaurants. The fact that they don't know this man means they can't give their true reaction and she doesn't have to be there to hear their outrage or whatever their reactions would be. I'm sure this family is practiced at putting on their public face. If she had told them in private they could have felt free to be upset and she'd have to deal with their emotions. Seems abusive to me...
ReplyDeleteI noticed that too, comeonpeople @ 4:16. She makes no effort to support his head...easy enough to explain, though, she is devoid of any maternal instinct when it comes to this child.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of "supporting" -- Out of curiosity I opened the We Did It--The comeback starts now, yadda, yadda, yadda Republican Governor's Association ad which displayed on this page.
Maybe little Trigg's head didn't have her support, but, at least the Republican Governors do, now. LOL
On this ad, she (Sarah Palin) says:
"I don't always see eye to eye with Republican Political Committees so when I tell you that the Republican Governors Association has my complete support and confidence...know that I really mean it. The RGA is helping lead the conservative comeback beginning this year."
I really mean it--I really, really mean it--no, really, this time I do. Would I lie?
Meanwhile:
The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round...Roger, how many more books did you say I have to get rid of before I can get off this stinking bus?
Roger A: Next stop is Washington!
Sarah: Woohoo! Washington, here I come!
Roger A: Washington, Pennsylvania, Sarah.
Sarah: What? @&*%! Twitter "this" Roger.
How demeaning it must have been for Sarah- Not only was she not allowed to read the concession speech the Mc Cain handlers wrote for her, but she got her mic and the spotlight cut off.
ReplyDeleteI just may add this book to my list, but I want to read Rouge first.
Anon @2:05.
ReplyDeleteOMG!!!!! That is hysterical!

Why is Sarah so over-the-top preoccupied with bloggers? Having had the misfortune of working with a NPD individual -- the parallels are just uncanny -- for way too many years, I think I know. People like this invent their own reality; if they attain a position of power, their illusions scale up accordingly, and so does their demand for obedience. Anyone challenges The Queen? Off with their heads! I believe that, on some level, people like this have some inkling that their self-images are one big house of cards, and they are scared to death that someone might poke at a card and bring the house down. In Sarah's case, enter the bloggers. She can't control them, she can't shut them up, they keep hitting way too close to the bone. Ergo, obsession.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading many many posts on this site, I have a very simple question to ask. Why are the people of Alaska so afraid of Sarah Palin? Someone (in the public's eye) in any other state was causing so much destruction ,as she seems to be doing, would be called down by the population of that state. Her destruction does not seem to be in an issolated area, but the entire state. Seems to me that she could be put under control....BUT...everyone is afraid of her...WHY?
ReplyDeleteIt's all Toad's fault. If he would just sleep in the same bed and slap that booty occassionally I'll bet Sister Sarah would be a much kinder person.
ReplyDeleteSheesh, Alaskan tough guy just don't get it. Levi either he coulda helped her with that gun under the bed and the world would be a much safer place.
