Here is the second protester from the McCain/Palin rally after they dragged him out of the building. Apparently he is a Libertarian.

Update: I have embedded the video here as it is one of those that starts automatically when you open the page and that can get very annoying after awhile.

I am confused.  Did John McCain spend time in a POW camp so that this guy could get roughed up like that?

Just in case somebody tries to call this a liberal stunt I wanted to make sure it was documented that this guy is a self identified Libertarian. In other words, a Teabagger.

I guess Sarah's turn as a McCain spokesmodel was not as convincing as they might have hoped.

Update: Thanks to those who pointed out that this was the SECOND protester and not the first.  I corrected my headline.

  1. McC does not need thugs to take care of anyone. Did you see him in committee when he got mad at a female family member of a MIA soldier? POW/MIA families had the nerve to ask him questions and he had one of his fits. Nancy Reagan is right about him. He is awful.

    Wow...

This guy was very brave- the people that manhandled him are lucky he wasn't packing...

They were at a high school. Public property. His 1st amendment rights were violated, no question. Good publicity for McCain, not. He's gonna rue the day he asked her to help him.

A Libertarian, huh? Well now. Isn't that interesting?

Doesnt look like this real american got his freedom of speech that sp is always talking about. She probably got all excited seeing him get beat up like that. Guess that was just the media ginning it up. He wasn't the violent one, the guys beating him up were. You know, Palin's Pals.

  7. Nope. Neither John McCain's air strikes or POW time had anything to do with American freedoms. He ended up in the POW camp because he was a lousy pilot. He wouldn't have been allowed near a plane were it not for his father being a high-ranking Admiral. McCain needed the tour in Viet Nam to advance his career.

The protesters did not appear to do anything that warranted assault and battery. The security/police hauled the wrong people away.

Wow Gryphen, lucky you weren't dragged out of Palin's book-signing like that guy! John and Sarah's nazi soldiers in action!

Gryphen. Let me be among the first to commend you on an excellent post. I've been following the "heckler" news today, but so far nobody has taken the time to provide this significant bit of information: a Teabagger, no less, dares to object to the Queen's presence. Well, things could be getting right messy, wouldn't you say? That's certainly no surprise at IM, though, as there's extensive documentation on this site of the disasters Sarah Palin has consistently left in her wake.

Gryph, I think you mean the second heckler. The first was wearing a blue shirt, the second the red plaid. (Chicks notice these things).

And please, not all libertarians are teabagger!. You even link to a very good libertarian blog on your bloglist (Fiery Blazing Handbasket). Generalizations like that do not help.

I thought Sarah told the crowd to stand up, not to sit down and shut up. So, the guy did what she said. I guess in Sarah's American, one can only say the kind of stuff that Sarah wants to hear.

Sarah is for government interference when it coms to shutting the other guy up.

It is clear that Sarah inspires violence.

Gryphen, I just realized what a big fat favor Sarah did for you and Dennis Zaki. Having you both thrown out of her book signing was so smart. She saved you from the treatment that this guy just got.

This will not help McCain AT ALL. It may well help his opponent, J.D. Hayworth, because it will be played on TV nonstop all over Arizona between now and the primary date. It will also not help the repugs nationally, since it was an independent, not a democrat, who was beat up. This will show just how marginalized, angry, and evil the hatriots are.

From there, we can have the discussion: if it's NOT okay to beat up a libertarian, WHY is it OKAY to beat up a democrat??

Of course, had Sarah had the decency to have stopped her cutesy speech and ordered the thugs to stop it immediately, she could have saved McCain from this damage. She seems to have no problem telling everyone else to sit down and shut up. Wonder if John McCain still loves her NOW??

Palin doesn't know what she is saying. Here is part os a quote from her. In one sentence denying violence, in the next saying sheor others will shoot between the eyes. It's not a joke. It's not funny. Ths was on Huffpo.

"Sarah Palin issued the following warning to the most extreme elements in the Tea Party movement: "Anyone who uses threats of violence will be in my crosshairs."

But she was was quick to add that the issue of violence had been overblown by what she called "the lame-stream media," adding, "In Alaska, you know what we do with people like that? We hunt 'em down and shoot 'em between the eyes!"

Um - the VietNam war was not fought in defense of our constitution! What ignorance. Having been in the military, I can say there are plenty of nuts serving. And just because McCain was a POW doesn't mean he's not an asshole!

you are an imbecile if you think lumping libertarians in the teabagger category is legit...

READ the libertarian party web page and re-think your disparagement of libertarians...

Scarah has lumped them on one or more occasions and hasn't a fucking clue what she's talking about... like DUH... that's a real surprise...

the only thing libertarians and scarah MIGHT have in common is the wish for less government in our personal lives... and that would be a loose common thread...

I don't believe any TRUE libertarian would embrace scarah, and that they would be insulted by being bagged in with the scarah types...

I am very liberal, and support libertarians... I DESPISE scarah palin... read up gryphen... don't just mouth shit off the net...

Wow LIZabeth, I understand you are annoyed about being lumped in with Tea Baggers, but here's the problem: the way you and a few other Libertarians are expressing yourselves are making it very difficult to tell you apart from the Tea Baggers.

If you want to be perceived as being different from them, you first must start by sounding different from them.

Only then will you be able to distinguish yourselves as being different and better than them. Just saying.

Everyone needs to read up a little on the Libertarian party. A lot of these folks are OK, but Ron Paul and Rand Paul have a closer than safe relationship with anti-semitism and racism. I'm not saying all libertarians are this way, but those that blindly follow the Paul's need to read a little more.

  24. Good. I figured they had invited only card carrying rethuglicans to these staged events. I hope there are hecklers at every event.
McCain needs to retire, but I get the impression Cindy Lou is there promoting the reelection or SHE will have to hang out with the angry old coot. Imagine him in his underwear cussing & drinking as he watches Faux snooze 24/7.
Cindy Lou has a personal stake here.

As for Palin, she's playing both side of the coin-- Queen of the tea party AND republican mouthpiece. Which is it Sarah??
Are you tired of their same old GOP bullshit, or for their same old bullshit?

Their new motto makes me cringe-- we are not just the party of No, but the party of Hell No!

Just wondering, will she be putting that slogan on T-shirts for her kids & baby to wear, perhaps to church???

Neurotic & psychotic Sarah calls for wingnuts to reload.

Someone wake me up from this nightmare! Please!!!

10cats, at first I was skeptical that Palin actually uttered that phrase 'shoot them between the eyes' - it seemed so over the top, incredible, insensible.

But I ran it down and yep, she said it. Just when you think she couldn't possibly get any worse, she ups the ante. The sky is the limit for That Girl and it is a frightening prospect indeed to contemplate just how far she is going to push things in her ignorant narcissism.

I happened to catch that rally on C-span yesterday, so I saw what was going on up on the stage as they dragged the guy out. First, our dear Sarah had apparently heard the scoffing about her ridiculous biker jacket at the last rally, so she was more appropriately dressed for this one. When the kerfuffle broke out, everybody on the stage stopped (yes, sarah actually stopped her stupid speech long enough to gawk silently)and stared as the guy was dragged out. Then Sarah made her dumbass remarks about POW John and the right to protest (don't you mean the right to try to protest, Sarah?).
BTW, Cindy has been the one introducing people at these rallies, and she waxed poetic over Tawd at this one. He's apparently her BFF. I heard "good friend, great American, athlete, outdoorsman, father, family man."
I need to go barf now.
I'm still looking for sign suggestions for Palin protest in Oregon next month. Snarky please.

Too bad there weren't more protesters there! People need to stop being afraid to stand up for what is right.

Sarah Palin walked out on Alaska when she quit her job as governor. She walked out on the Alaskan people who elected her to work for them. If she had cared for the state and the people, she would have finished out her term. Making money was the only thing she was interested in. She promised to keep working for Alaska from outside of office, which of course was another lie.

And now...her latest scheme for personal gain is a tv show where she acts as tour guide through the state she quit on. What a joke!

Be sure to sign the boycott Discovery Channel petition! Let Sarah and TLC know what you think!

Went back and double checked, and yes, Sarah did say that about hunting people down. Sorry about the misspellings. Typing in a hurry to post.

Another comment. She said to "fire" them all. How about the fact that they were voted into office. Yes, she will say that she was using "metaphor," but is she so stupid, hyped up on drugs or public adoration, etc. that she prefers to use that kind of inciteful, possibly violent metaphor-- "fire" fire what? guns? They are elected officials not hired employees, and a thoughtful, honest debate is needed here.

We don't need her ignorant, ravings to out-of-work, government recipients of SS and Medicare benefits. She needs a very dirty sock (metaphor here) stuffed down her throat. It might even soften her screechy voice.

McCains smile is so fake its really gross, like a robot. Yuk. I guess he may have learned that as a POW to satisfy his captors when he was put on camera to vilify the US for them.

What I find so annoying about her "lock and loaded" scheme is that she picked 20 representatives who'll probably lose anyway. I mean, she picked people in districts that the McCAIN campaign won. I mean, anyone can see that they're really vulnerable. But now when they do lose and the republicans get their seats back, she'll be lauded as having "won" the seats and she'll have another 15 minutes of fame. Meanwhile, she'll be pocketing that PAC money for herself and using to pay for "clerical" work...BOO...

micmac and 10cats: Please consider the source.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/andy-borowitz/palin-warns-anyone-who-th_b_515764.html

Andy Borowitz (a political comedian) continues:

"Gov. Palin's trademark wit was on display as she aimed some good-natured barbs at Sen. McCain and his wife Cindy.

"John, you're so old, you probably tell Larry King to get off your lawn," she joked. "And Cindy, you're so tanked up on painkillers, when you turn on the radio Rush Limbaugh gets a contact high.""

Now, did you watch the speeches of the McCain rallies on Friday and Saturday? Did she say those things? No. Because they are made up for the purpose of comedy. The tags on the HuffPo story include "comedy news" because that is what it is.

And then, please consider Poe's Law. We need to be more careful than the right is, not jumping at shadows.

And finally, sign up for Borowitz's e-mail feed. He sends out some really great stuff.

The New York Times reports that most tea baggers are on unemployment - in other words, government assistance. There is also another report stating that one of the head Tea Party guy has been on disability for years while his wife works! For people opposed to the government, they sure as hell use it more than most.
