The Daily Kos quotes first AlaskaWTF and then the Immoral Minority yet admit they have never heard of either blog, which leads them to make this disclaimer.
Now, I realize that today is April Fool's Day, but both of these articles have been up for two or three days already. Normally I'm not comfortable with "Did XYZ do something horrible???" headlines, where the entire story is rumor and speculation, but come on--every element of this story fits exactly with the Sarah Palin modus operandi to a T: Trashy, tacky crime followed by massive cover-up and abuse of power attempt by Sarah.
Still, as I've never previously heard of either of the above blogs, I figured I should at least check in with the most reliable source for Alaska-based political-related news, The MudFlats. They couldn't directly confirm it, but the gist was that reliable sources are indicating that it's a legitimate story.
You know I could get my little blogging feelings hurt by the fact that this this Daily Kos diarist felt that they had to check with Mudflats to make sure that this is a reliable story, but I didn't.
How could I? Do you know who I contact when I want to know if a story is legitimate? You guessed it!
I am sure that some of you may be wondering why I keep posting about other places that this story is showing up. No it is not too stroke my ego, but it IS to help somebody, who was very hesitant to talk in the first place, to realize that this story has legs and if they allow me to post some of their other information it will explode across the internet.
And by the way YOUR comments have been very helpful in making that case. Like I have said before, I could not do this without you.
Update: A bunch of you have been asking why I don't just get a copy of the Trooper report of the break in. I have actually been trying to do just that. However I just learned a few minutes ago that the Troopers will NOT release that information to anybody except the homeowner.

Or if you're ready to put yourself out there and share things using your name, the blogsphere and the media in general will be grateful that someone has the "balls" enough to finally come forward with the true dirt on Sarah and her family. Many, many innocent folks have fallen for Sarah's lies and they just don't understand the levels of corruption she is involved in. We desperately need YOU, brave sources, to help get this information out there. Please be brave!

What can we do for the good people of the Mat-Su? I'm looking into a bff of the Palin girls. It looks like she was there. She was not arrested like the boys and she IS over 18. Whether she was there or not, she is a ring leader and knows everything that goes down. She would be smart to tell her own story before this is blown open. All the digital can be brought back from cell phones and computers. However this goes, the feds will be involved. Not good to be caught in silent complicity cover up or as a liar.

Hopefully, KO will have something about this on his show. He often has the young man from Daily Kos on (sorry, I can't recall his name). Yes, all sources and potential sources as anon@1:13 pointed out. PLEASE do come forward with anything that you might have on this. Sarah Palin and her family have been terrorizing people for far too long. There is strength in numbers! This sick woman has had far too much influence over too many people, and just as unfortunately, there are a lot of very ill-informed people who are following her who refuse to accept the truth about Mrs. Palin. Please, tell what you know to help put a stop to this. For good.

ReplyDeleteI agree wtih Daily Kos - I don't care for stories about how horrible SP's kids are or are not (lots of kids get in trouble and grow up to be fine citizens, or PResident). The kids didn't ask for the limelight. This story isn't just about one of her kids. It's about SP's efforts to cover up and possibly intimidate local authorities and hurt OTHER kids. It's particularly significant because she runs on a Family Values platform

Some of the comments at Daily Kos imply that this story should not be covered because minors are involved. I disagree. The big story is not the vandalism (although $20,000 damages is huge), but there appears to be a concerted effort by parents to manipulate the legal system whereby their own children don't have to pay for the consequences of their actions. In Palin's case, her motivations most likely extend beyond protecting her child to also protecting her assets as a public paragon of "Family Values." Lot of money involved in those "assets" even if Palin's image is a carefully crafted lie.

ReplyDeleteI've been in the newspaper business for 25 years. I run a small daily newspaper. Even if police released the report, the names of all juveniles would likely be stricken...as for Daily Kos, they are bunch of jerks. Remember how that douchebag Markos went after Dennis Kucinnich for opposing the insurance industry boondoggle of a health care bill? Also, Online Journal reported he had intelligence ties and may be a CIA plant to lobby for the status quo. He worked for the Dean campaign and is rumored to be the one who released the video of Dean's yell after the Iowa caucus. So don't feel too bad about anything he or his blog reports.

ReplyDeleteI would hope that people in Wasilla realize that their silence means that these kids will break into another empty house, trash the place and hold another party. It could be any of their houses, while they are in Anchorage shopping or away for a week end vacation.
ReplyDeleteEven if criminal charges are not brought against the teens, the people whose house was vandalized should sue in civil court for damages. Silence and doing nothing means that the kids will only get into more trouble, since they see how easy it is to get away with it.
It is too bad that people in Wasilla don't care enough to keep drunken kids off the road; they are a safety problem. They could hurt someone else, and they are doing permanent damage to themselves. You would think that people in Wasilla should care more about their community and their own safety.
Andrew 424 PM, No one is saying release the names of minors in media now. There are at least 3 and maybe more adults. The ring leader of the Colony Girls Gang put together a routine party and $20-30,000 damages later the people cannot see the report. This is America, if we want to keep crime that involves 18 y-o who hang with minors a secret, well, those people can try and pass a law. As it is now, we should have access to public records. We have laws, we must hold authorities accountable or we are a lawless sham of a country.
ReplyDeleteOur police have a data base for gangs. I've read one of the Matsu suspects, they were talking about their girls being the toughest and all. They didn't use the word gang. Maybe one of the locals can explain how the Wasilla High and Palmer schools work for the teens. They also home school. The teens are territorial toughies, they like cool pimp rides, and the wildest parties for the long winters.
i support those who have information about this incident to be courageous and share it. sarah should not be allowed to bully people in her community anymore - who does she think she is, governor? someone needs to put a sock in the consrant stream on negativity coming from her and her people. she is not helping.

Has this been mentioned here or elsewhere on the blogs? There might be another reason why only the boys are being charged with the break-in and vandalism. Maybe a deal was cut. Ever think that the "evidence" of sexual activity included activity w/ underage girls, which could then include charges of statutory rape? See Alaska State law.

Is that the house where Dr. Cathy Baldwin helps sexually abused pregnant teens and babies? That is a large industry and it is sad they do not help anyone after they leave. I thought the Bush always had it grim. Anchorage has big city problems. The Mat-Su I am still learning about, I wish they weren't so scared. I am sure they could make big money while the world wants to know about their culture and how it got that way.

I don't see a plant as I understand the little information this far along. My take on some of the teens is there could be rival gangs or groups. There are also rivals for leadership in a gang. That is not the Mat-Su teens I know. They live in houses and there is money. The ones that don't work are okey with that, someone cares for them they just leave them unsupervised or with 18 y.o. boys. They travel, have expensive toys and go to tanning. They not only have 2 parents some list as many as 6 parents or more. They have large families from different marriages. The Palins one marriage is unusual.
Maybe I watch too much TV, but is it not possible for someone to have infiltrated the group aka gone under-cover. And the possibility that more information/evidence is needed to bust these kids/gang up....especially if the DOJ is involved..gotta have a solid case to prosecute.
