Dallas, Texas:
Ticket prices are dropping for the Friday night gala that features a VIP gathering and speech by former GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin. Instead of $1,000, attendees can pay $250 for one ticket to the 7 p.m. dinner at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas. Tickets for two to the VIP reception and dinner, once priced at $25,000, now cost $2,000 (and include six non-VIP dinner tickets and a photo with Palin). Organizers say that "ticket sales have been reduced to offer a greater number of people an opportunity to attend."
Priced DOWN from $1,000 to $250? Not just cut in half once, but essentially cut in half twice? And the reason given is so MORE people can hear her screechy voice saying ignorant things? Please, NOBODY cuts the price of tickets down to a quarter of its original price if sales are brisk.
And from $25,000 to $2,000 for a chance to see get close enough to see the multiple layers of makeup on the Teabagger Queen's face? Could it be that even though the media is fixated with Palin that the real people are starting to tire of the three ring circus that is her life?
I wonder how much longer it will be before Sarah is reduced to showing up for the grand opening of an IHOP in Tallahassee, Florida? Or perhaps a new Piggly Wiggly in Alabama?
That is the risk of booking a $100K speaker..They may get desperate to break even..Sister Sarah's shelf life was short..She is going stale.
ReplyDeleteSo those who already spent $25,000 should be entitled to a refund of $23,000. Otherwise they're going to have some very pissed off patrons.
ReplyDeletelmao you know that's got to be a big boost for the quitter's ego. hahahaa
ReplyDeleteThat is a really good point anonymous at 6:11AM. What do you do with the people who paid the big bucks? Are they the ones who are really deluded such that they won't mind having forked out 4-10 times over the going price now? Hmmm?
ReplyDeleteGryphen that is my favorite picture of Spoiled Little Brat Sarah. Some one needs to photoshop that face on a little girl with pigtails stomping her feet because she can't get her own way. That's what I see every time some one posts that picture...
ReplyDeletePretty soon she'll be standing on a corner asking for quarters!!!
Hard and ugly. Inside and out.
ReplyDeleteI don't consider $250 the bargain bin. $1000 was way above what is charged at other events. This organization just overpriced themselves from the beginning. $250 is more in line of what is charged at her other events.
ReplyDeleteI think she would be perfect at a Piggly Wiggly in Alabama!! And yes anon@5:57 am I think it would indeed be justified to ask for a refund of $23K. God, these people must feel like idiots!! How embarrassing for the Queen of Duh.
ReplyDeleteSeems odd you only picked this one event to cover. Why, it is almost like you have a bias...
ReplyDeleteEugene, OR, soldout 900 @ $250
Calgary, more than 1000 @ $150-200
Hamilton, Ont, Tickets were priced at $200 and all 850 seats were sold
Boston, huge crowd on the Common
Orlanda, soldout fund raiser
And so on
Try again.
At these discounts, they won't be able to afford to purchase that mansion to give aid and succor to the SMU college students. I guess they'll have to downsize to smaller quarters.
ReplyDeleteI suspect a lot of the reason that tickets have to be reduced 92% is that people have figured out that they can watch any Youtube video of a Palin speech and hear everything she has to say - and do it free while enjoying popcorn in the comfort of home - and not have to choke back their laughter.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is in TX, which you would think would worship this woman. (No offense to others living in TX, but it is pretty conservative.)
ReplyDeleteShe's not going to be able to get 100,000 per gig anymore because she isn't selling out her appearances.
Her big money might be short lived. I hope she is spending every cent and "forgetting" to pay the tax man thinking it will continue to come in.
The people who already paid the big bucks are going to be able to pat her bumpit. Or maybe they can shave Todd's goatee.
ReplyDeletecheap shrills!
ReplyDeleteI live in GOPland AKA Collin County, Texas. I had feared this event would sell well here. I am thrilled to see that is not the case! The fact that the prices have been reduced dramatically shows us they are having a hard time unloading this crap, but the fact that they are giving away SIX extra tickets with a VIP package that was reduced to less than 10% of its original price shows they are just trying to avoid embarrassing themselves. Can you imagine? Scarah is up there screeching to just the 5 or so morons who are behind this project? It sounds like they are desperate to fill the seats. I wonder if the deadline to order tickets will be extended when this fails?
ReplyDeleteTo Anonymous who said,

Then, accused Gryphen of being biased -- actually, you proved his point for him. The other events charged an average of $250 or less. The event highlighted in his post was asking FOUR times that amount!!! Thus, Dallas was way, way overpriced and had to cut drastically in order to sell its tickets and get in line with the previous events that you mentioned.
hehehehehee.... and the saga continues!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou know she looks rode hard and put away wet in that picture!!!!
Thanks for all your hard work Gryph!
There may not be any $25,000 tickets sold to give a refund to.
ReplyDeleteLet the meltdown begin.........
ReplyDeleteHow much do you tip the Palins when they serve you your meals?
ReplyDeleteDon't believe Queen of Quit realizes there is a recession out there - even for the wealthy! She is pricing herself right out of the market!
ReplyDeleteWhat sells one day and doesn't another? I'm thinking: "flash-in-the-pan", novelty, infatuation, boring (only so many ways you can change the wool on that wolf). The more people learn about her, the more almost anyone can see the emperor's new clothes for what they really are and I think that even the media have lost interest and will stop throwing good money after bad.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Sarah could sell some after event "GEEZER SPECIALS" for old repugs like McStain and Smirk Cheney where she privately does a lap dance for the ageing GOP farts. You know, a little something EXTRA like all the old whores and hookers when they have to drop their prices.
ReplyDeleteYup... then she'll be in the unemployment line collecting that socialist money!
ReplyDeleteSmoke and mirrors... this woman has no staying power. People will move on and she'll become just another question for trivial pursuit.
ReplyDeleteFor those moldy oldies that might remember this movie, this reminds me of that scene in "Spinal Tap" where the theatre marquee reads "Puppet Show and Spinal Tap".
ReplyDeleteHm. I wonder if the ticket prices came down for the Austin showing Thursday. They're $50-$100 but no way I can stomach to pay that...I'd pay...exactly $0 (lol) (I am gonna hang outside the convention center to see what's going on, though...
ReplyDelete"You cursed brat! Look what you've done! I'm melting! melting! Oh, what a world! What a world! Who would have thought a good little one like you could destroy my beautiful wickedness? Oooooh, look out! I'm going! Oooooh! Ooooooh!"
ReplyDeleteMay I have the broomstick if Gryphen doesn't want it.....
She only has a few stock phrases that people cheer for , between bags of word salad, so maybe they understand that they have SEEN and HEARD this before.
ReplyDeleteNow they only go to raise money for whatever the group is, if they go.
The fact is that she does not draw big numbers. I'm sorry, but under 1,000 attend per appearance? Cirque Du Soleil ON TOUR does twice as much as that each night.
ReplyDeleteI lived in the Dallas area for 14 years, so I know just how conservative it is. These folks have the reddest necks imaginable. If Palin can’t sell tickets in DALLAS without reducing prices to 25%-8% that they originally were marketed at, her star is fading fast.
ReplyDeletePalin is the Tonya Harding of the modern politics. She is rushing headlong to her future career in midget mud wrestling, chick boxing, and hawking autographed copies of “Going Rogue” from the back of a pickup in WalMart parking lots. Where and when will be the first boat show she works?
Im a little offended that you used Tallahassee to insult Palin. The classiest people come from there - not just a college party town
ReplyDelete"Could it be that even though the media is fixated with Palin that the real people are starting to tire of the three ring circus that is her life?"
ReplyDeleteBingo!
Also, I'm not sorry that this Dallas group, so eager to mislead more young women, looks to lose some money.
This reminded me of Ruthless People, by those "awful" Hollywood types she so wants to be:
ReplyDeleteBarbara: So, when do I get out of here?
Sandy: As soon as Mr. Stone pays the ransom.
Barbara: What's the problem? What is the ransom?
Sandy: Well, we asked for $500,000.
Barbara: That should be no problem.
Sandy: He wouldn't pay.
Barbara: He wouldn't pay?
Sandy: Then we asked him for $50,000.
Barbara: Yeah?
Sandy: He still wouldn't pay. So now we're lowering our price to $10,000.
Barbara: Do I understand this correctly? I'm being marked down?
[Starts crying]
Barbara: I've been kidnapped by K-Mart!
Sarah's being discounted by Wal-Mart.
Some one needs to photoshop that face on a little girl with pigtails stomping her feet because she can't get her own way
ReplyDeleteI can try. LOL I will link it later or tomorrow when I have time. If that is ok with Gryphen. If the post doesn't go through with link I understand.
you communists are funny.
ReplyDeleteThank you Anonymous 2:14.
ReplyDeleteYou know the hallmark of a good communist is a well rounded sense of humor. I hear Karl Marx was the life of the party.
"Life of the party" get it?
I love your comment Gasman that Palin is the "Tonya Harding of politics". That is so perfect.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that that photo of Sarah keeps showing up every few weeks.
ReplyDeleteThat is not the face of a mentally normal person. And it definately is the face of a person capable of a consuming and very directed hatred.
I'll catch the parody on SNL--much more substantive.
ReplyDelete;-)
Maybe Sarah Sak's supporters can use batsh-t Sue Lowdens idea, and pay to see Sarah misplace verbs by donating a chicken!!
ReplyDeleteI'm from Texas and I'm so glad they're having to reduce the price of the tickets. It shows me that everybody isn't as crazy about her here in Texas as I thought. I wouldn't pay a dime to see her.
