Sarah Palin may be best known for her fiery speeches at campaign rallies nationwide, but today she will be able to showcase her softer side as she joins one Alabama community to raise money for charity.
The former Alaska governor will attend today’s Rainbow Omega’s 18th Annual Fundraising Dinner in Birmingham, Ala. Rainbow Omega is a faith-based nonprofit organization that provides a sheltered community to adults with developmental disabilities.
The organization has revealed that Palin’s topic will be "Dreams for My Child’s Future: My Views as an Advocate for Those with Developmental Disabilities," and Omega Rainbow’s founder and CEO Stentson Carpenter said the former vice presidential candidate is uniquely qualified to speak on this subject.

What makes Sarah Palin so unique?
The fact that she did not actually give birth to the Down syndrome baby that she claims as hers? The fact that his birth cemented her opportunity to be John McCain's VP choice? The fact that she trotted him around before screaming crowds under the glare of bright lights and news cameras during the most important developmental time in his young life? Or perhaps the fact that she exposed him to the elements without proper clothing to help promote her crappy book with little or no regard for his health or cognitive development?
Is THAT what makes Sarah Palin so "unique"?
Well perhaps the fine folks at Rainbow Omega (What kind of a name is that?) could take a moment away from being star struck by Sarah's luminous presence and educate her a little on what it takes to care for a child like Trig correctly. You know perhaps tell her that he needs his glasses and hearing aids on most, if not all, of the time. And how important it is that he have a consistent environment with people who know how to care for him properly and help him to overcome the hurdles that he will face in his life.
Then perhaps Sarah Palin can stop being "unique" and become just like every other "parent" of a Down's syndrome child. You know one who puts the child's needs first, and educates themselves on what their toddler will need to help him develop to his or her full potential.
Oh who am I kidding?
Sarah has money. Lot's of it. She will just hire somebody to raise this kid for her now that he is no longer of any use politically or monetarily. And do you know what? THAT might actrually be the best parenting decision that Sarah Palin can make on his behalf.
How much are they paying her this time?

Gryphen do a google news search for Sarah Palin. Thers another article with a different version of how Bristol told her mom she was pregnant. A completely different story from previous versions. This is ridiculous.

Anyone else noticing a trend here?
ReplyDeleteSarah is getting faster on the uptake these days as regards smoothing over points brought up by her critics - well, those she can do something about. Stupid is not easily remedied and may be forever.
When the center and progressive blogs began railing against the way she dragged Trig around without proper clothing, she began albeit slowly to do something about it. Just before he disappeared, he was wearing more clothing, socks even.
Then, after the revelations about the possibility of two or perhaps three babies being swapped out as Trig - with photos of the ruffled ears, she made sure Trig wasn't available at all.
More recently, folks have been pointing out that she is not known for donating time or money to charities. Most of us wonder if she ever parts with money to support causes.
Increasing questions have arisen about her commitment to disabled children, so suddenly she is appearing at this fundraiser.
She or one of her minions must be reading the blogs and comments because the changes cannot be just coincidental. It happens with too much regularity.
Sarah, ever the opportunist, is going to be caught-out when folks begin to match up controversy and revelations with her changes.
I think even more of her base will be questioning her sincerity. Oh, not the die-hards, they are too gone for that. They are not the kind of people who think too hard about their false idols. But the folks who have been shaken by her endorsements of Republicans over Tea Party candidates, her increasingly wild and inaccurate pronouncements about the history of this country - those folks who may be thinkers might just be thinking Sarah is selling them a bill of goods.
Almost everyone gets tired of being fooled after a while. Everyone wants honesty when it comes to how someone deals with them personally. As her base shrinks, more folks may be wondering if all the woo-rah is worth it.
Let us pray.

I wonder which of the Kate/Jon Gosselin children face a lifelong medical issue. I'm very very sure that at least one of them does.
We just don't know. And there's a reason. Because they don't put that out there in the public. Because it's private. They don't market their disabled kid.
From Cornell University: 2008 overall percentage (prevalence rate) of people with a disability of all ages in Alaska = 12%. 81,900 of 680,700 individuals of all ages reported one or more disabilities.
Disabilities are identified as hearing, visual, cognitive, ambulatory, self-care, and independent living.
Among the six types of disabilities identified, the highest prevalence rate was for "Ambulatory Disability," (6.1%) and the lowest was "Visual Disability," (1.9%).
In 2008, the prevalence of disability in the US was 12.1 percent for persons of all ages. The rate for non-institutionalized children up to 15 years is almost 6%. But check this out - under the age of 4, the only disabilities identifies are visual and hearing, nothing else.
So. What does this tell us? Mrs. Palin is not unique and not "uniquely qualified" to speak to the issue of disabilities. She just special in that she markets her disabled child.
I tend to agree with you Gryphen on the subject of Palin's millions and some one who, hopefully, will be qualified and caring to raise Trig. Just the look on her face in that picture speaks volumes. She looks like his diaper is smelly and she just cannot deal with it.

I see that you are having Ms. Palin (not a governor because she quit the job) as your speaker tonight in Birmingham. If you are allowed to ask her questions, please ask her these 2: for me and my friends including the family of the Down Syndrome woman I was privileged to know for most of her 50+ year life (Paula). Why, oh why, would Ms. Palin who was starting to experience contractions and leaking fluid, choose to proceed with a speech on April 17, 2008, then board a plane and fly for hours from Texas to Alaska before seeking medical attention? She supposedly knew the child she was carrying was special needs; that the Down Syndrome could cause a heart defect. Why would you risk losing that child or experiencing medical complications yourself?
Subsequently why would someone take a special needs child all over the country, not once but twice, first on a Presidential campaign and secondly a book tour, where this child with sensitive needs was exposed to crowds, to weather conditions of all types, being plucked out of a warm bed on a bus and exposed to cold temperatures with bare feet, bare legs, in inappropriate clothing in the middle of the night just to greet a crowd at a mall.
We would like to have a coherent and responsible answer to the above questions. Good luck on your fundraiser.

Gryphen: referencing my previous comment: I chose to go the route of the concerned champion of proper care for children and for children with special needs as opposed to questioning whether she had Trig or not, though you know I don't believe for an instant that she is the birth mother.
ReplyDeleteSarah's body language including the way she has always held Trig speaks of distaste for him. She is holding him the way someone might handle a soiled piece of clothing or a bag of potatoes or fruit that has gone bad.
ReplyDeleteMost mothers hold their young children so that the child's heart is closest to their own - i.e., with the child facing them so they can monitor the child's moods and needs. The heart-to-heart position bespeaks maternal concern. The manner in which Sarah holds Trig does not.
She holds him as if she cannot wait to hand him off to someone else. She is shutting her heart to him by holding him face outward like that.
I can honestly say I have never, ever seen a mother carry a child like that consistently in my over three decades of being a mother myself. She is telling the world how she feels about that child by the way she handles him. So sad.
Is this a recent photo of her with a special needs child? The latest Trig? (SPecial needs children do not grow or age, you know.) Or is this just some stock photo of her with a special needs child. If it is a stock photo, where is Trig? What is her excuss for not being seen with him? Did her lease run out?

Now, I believe he will be institutionalized in the near future, "boarding school", "best for his development", "learning environment". But even if he manages to develop to the point where he can take care of himself, Trig will never be able to live alone. Do you think Todd & Sarah will take care of him full time through their old age? Fat chance. Do you think any of the kids, even Bristol, want the responsibility of caring for Trig forever? Nope. The Palins will want a facility like what Rainbow Omega offers. No fuss. No mess. No Trig.

If Sarah was really planning to leave Todd and was really that unhappy, then how/why was the new mansion built in such quick fashion? Thats usually has to be planned. I'm with the majority. I think she used the state govt position as a stepping stone to the big leagues. My Evangelical parents do not like Palin and think her hateful ways are very unchristian. I told them that Billy Graham organization flew Palin in their private jet to meet with them, and they were shocked and disappointed.
I want to see a video of all the times Palin has said, Hell NO, and I want to see the video tied to Billy Graham and other Evangelicals. Then, I want them to tell us all that this swearing-liar is the representative of the Evangelicals.

If an uncomely overweight anonymous woman was doing this with her DS child, they'd be calling her out, calling the family services authorities of her county and state and taking that child away.

These are the people that have never been told "no" and if they are they just throw a hissy-fit until everyone agrees with them and they get their way. So what is it? How does that work? Any regular person that tried that would be shuned or even jailed, but not people like Sarah. They lie, they cheat, they hurt and use other people and seem to keep coming out on top. I don't understand. Is everyone so scared that they cower in front of her? Or is are they just dying to win her favor so they won't do anything that might displease her?

I love the way Paylin STOLE the partial title from Obama's book, "Dreams from My Father". In this case [since there is no way she can compete with our POTUS, she will start her book title with "Dreams" in hopes that perhaps people will CONFUSE it with Obama's book and instead, buy her BS edition about her grandchild. She COMPLETELY LACKS any originality because it seems everything she does is generally fashioned from someone else's work. There is NOTHING about her that can compete with any competent person alive. When I saw Sarah do an interview Trig was on her lap and she handed him to Piper. Her eyes had this look as if she had shit on her hand. I have seen people handle dogs better. This was before I knew anything about her.

True or not true, this family needs serious therapy. And out prayers. I'll pray for the children and I'll pray for Sarah to SEE that she is not living life as a Christian. ReplyDeleteNo one I know would out as pregnant their teen age daughter on a national stage- as Palin did to Bristol- to try to "disprove" rumors about Trig's parenthood.
This was not only mean and inappropriate- it is hypocritical. For years Palin hid (and still tries to hide) the fact that she was about 6 weeks pregnant when she got married. She created a story about "eloping" to save her parents the expense of a wedding- when of course they could have had a small inexpensive if money was a problem
Then, on August 29th, 2008, when her selection was announced in Dayton, McCain mentioned that that day was his 72nd birthday, to which she blurted out (without thinking, of course) that it was her 20th anniversary.
A quick check of Alaska Court records showed her son Track's birthdate, and voila, the fact that she was pregnant prior to marriage.
Why won't she discuss this? Why won't she say the Palin-Heaths are proud of 3 generations of knocked up. Not only Bristol and Palin, but Palin's mom as well (married in a c Catholic Church in the summer, and presot! 1st born arrives in February!

A hard core palin supporter was freed today, no not from jail. Though I dear say that is where palin and her bots belong. I freed this palinbot with the power of the truth. Update from me in reference to the report above that this home and organization (Rainbow Omega) caught Sarah Palin's eye - NO WAY. This is no coincidence. The two consultants on the board of Rainbow Omega are from Texas; one being Gene Stallings, former head coach of the University of Alabama football and former coach of Texas A&M football who has a son with DS and who is a friend and appointee (to some committees, etc.) of Rick Perry's. Just how thick are SP and Rick Perry : thick as thieves?
ReplyDeleteAfter following your site as well as many others, most particularly the Sarah Lies site where the originator was so threatened she suspended further activity(most unfortunate as her perceptions seemed so right on) , I have concluded that it is highly unlikely that Trig is Bristol's, more likely he is the (adopted) child for the political uses Palin had in mind for the influence on McCain's VP selection vs.Hillary.

The influence Hickel and Todd have had on Palin seems to be an interesting angle on the Alaska as its own country as well as the Christian Dominion influences which she is now bringing forth to hold onto her base , all her followers are warriors, a dangerous concept in the history of our world and its numerous religious wars, occurring following the conquering of the Roman Empire.

When I have my eyeglasses on, for babies for than a few months old, I carry them facing outwards. It helps make sure my eyeglasses don't get knocked or grabbed.
ReplyDeleteBut I also often set my eyeglasses out of reach so I can indulge in lots of face-to-face time with little ones, when I am sitting down.
Not saying this is Sarah Palin's excuse, but I do feel that an outward facing baby is not necessarily an evil thing.

Staying with and covering for a child molester is a horrible thing to do, and doing that to your own child wow. That outcome has a high rate of DS, and she has no morals at all, so it is a sad possibility.
ReplyDeleteWhen BS was asked on the view if she would like it if her mom was president and she said yes I wanted to shake her and ask her if she gave a crap about America at all. Even her own family would be adversely affected by a Palin presidency would they really want to be ruled like that? How about the people who support her like Hannity, Rush, Beck, Greta, etc. or are they so rich that it makes no difference in their lives who is president.
It will be interesting to see if she can spew her usual nonsence and not be caught this time. Presumably, the people she is speaking to are very familiar with the daily challenges of special needs people, and not just the hyperbole that Sarah speaks. If she's not specific, I'm sure more than a few people will be skeptical.
ReplyDeleteKnowing her behavior and attitude towards her children, I for one feel that she does them a great favor by being away from them. I would bet they are all happy to have her away too. If Trig has a regular caregiver like Bristol or a nanny, I bet that person will mean more to him than Sarah.
She just needs to be exposed for not being ANYTHING that she purports to be (loving wife, mother, Christian, "servant's heart", etc).
I am wondering about Todd Palin considering he resigned from his jobs. I am also thinking about sexism in regard that people in this age not hold females to entirely differen standards than males who have a like profession. I am not saying this to give Sarah a pass or imply she is exempt from the resality of time and quality of parenting. I wonder which parent if either do hold down the fort of a family with younger children and teens.Is Todd a Mr. Mom? He is not given credit although Sarah has been all over the country, as her daughters have too. Sarah reminds me of a habitual liar I knew who despite being absent from home, his family lied like hell claiming he alone did everything despite his lies being physcially impossible much less his self absorption.

A couple weeks ago I returned to my car, which was parked in a Home Depot parking lot, to find a hand written note, tucked under the windshiled wiper of my Prius (which proudly displays an Obama bumper sticker), that asked "How's that hopey changey thing goin for ya" Must have been one of the local rednecks that had been parked in one of the mega trucks close-by while I was shopping! I was ready to respond that things were going great for me.....and that Palin had asked that the question be asked of those with Obama stickers on their SUV's not on a Prius!
I agree that any mother who contiuously handles a child like Palin handles Trig shows a complete lack of motherly love. He is only a stage prop for her, and handled in this way he is always positioned so that he is facing her "audience".
I keep hoping that one of these mornings (soon), I will wake up to find that Palin has been exposed for who she really is and has gone down in flames. One can dream, can't one.
In case you were wondering, Palin didn't volunteer her services for this fundraiser, or lend her "unique" personage to their event because she identifies with their mission. Nope, she got paid - although (as usual) disclosure of her fee seems to be top secret info. And, no surprise to anyone, she didn't miss an opportunity to bash health care reform or to reinforce her belief in "drill, baby, drill."

blue eyes are dominant. However you bring up a good point about the eyes. Airplane Trig clearly has blue eyes. We've seen other photos of him with blue eyes.
ReplyDeleteThe big DS baby that we saw on the book tour and sitting in the couch photo has huge brown eyes. It is further proof that more than one Trig has been presented as the same child.
Baby eyes do change color, but not like that.....and not back to blue again.
Shame on the Palins and everyone else that covers for their lies.
