Jon Stewart points out that, according to our politicians, the American people both want it all, and want it all to stop.

Jon has touched on one of my pet peeves and that is when politicians keep telling their audience what the American people are demanding which, just by coincidence, matches perfectly with THEIR point of view.

Whenever I see a politician making that claim I always remember that just a little less than half of the people who voted in their election probably wanted the exact opposite of what they are claiming ALL Americans are now demanding, which is why they voted for the other guy.

Quite right, Gryphen. I don't remember Susan B. Anthony's exact quote, but it was something like, "I am always suspicious when people tell me what God wants because it always seems to be exactly what THEY decide is right."
