Okay South Carolina! Just what in the hell is going on here!

You know when they called this candidate a "plant" I thought they meant he had been inserted into the primary to give the Republicans an easy victory in the general election, but now I am wondering if the guy might not literally be a "houseplant".  Only I really believe my houseplants are substantially smarter than this guy.

This poor dimwitted son of a bitch clearly has NO idea what is going on, and is clearly responding to talking points and basic instructions provided to him by whoever is behind this farce.

Now look if he is mentally challenged or suffers with some diminished capacity then I apologize, but somebody in South Carolina needs to figure out just who put Buford "Bubba" Blue here up to this and they need to be punished severely for punking the voters of South Carolina.

And what is it about the Republicans, with their use of vote caging, and sending false census reports, and having their pals on the Supreme Court steal elections for them?   Can't these idiots win while playing by the rules?

Cutting corners, winning at all cost, lying to the public, I guess there really is no question as to why the Republicans and BP oil are just like two peas in a pod, now is there?

On a much, much lighter note, did any of you happen to see this?

He may be a Rethug plant, -BUT- the SC's voted for him. Time to blame the voters, not the plant.

  2. It seems that South Carolina has open primaries and there is mounting evidence that this guy was elected NOT by the Democrats but by Republicans looking to stack the deck in their favor.

I say we run him for governor! If Stupid Sarah can do it, so can Alvin Green!

Then, he can quit halfway through his term and run around the lower 48 giving half-witted speeches. When that all happens, only then will I believe we are truly an equal society.

The rat*ucking sounds about right Gryphen. Remember the GOP (or was it Limpballs) wanted to do the same with Hilary in the primaries. They decided that McCain would slaughter her--so they encouraged republicans to change their party affiliation during the primaries to vote her in.

A liberal friend of mine did this once and was cursed for it by receiving GOP literature in the mail for the next ten years.

  5. Green just stole Sarah's 'Most Painful Interview Ever' crown. (She still retains 'Most Hateful', 'Most Irritating','Most Ridiculous' and several others, however.)

Rep. Clyburn is calling for an investigation. There have been shenanigans in SC politics before.

"In the early '90s, a Republican strategist was prosecuted and forced to pay a fine when he was found to have coaxed an unemployed black fisherman into running in a primary race to increase white turnout at the polls in a Lowcountry congressional race. The political operative paid the man's filing fee."

  6. a Republican dirty trick or a veteran suffering from PTSD -- I realize that Alvin Greene has done something a certain former Republican VP candidate is too terrified to do: an interview w/ Keith Olbermann.

    Ha, ha, ha!

We are having a problem in Texas, too, and Palin endorsed Perry. Palin needs to be held accountable for her endorsements. There was a petition to add a Green Party to the ballot for Gov--
    ________

Today, the Texas Democratic Party joined the Dallas Morning news and legal experts in their criticism of the Republican Party's unethical actions.

According to a release from the Party, the Texas Democratic Party asked a State District Judge to issue a temporary restraining order to prevent the certification of Green Party candidates pending a fast track discovery process to gather facts that will determine whether laws were broken by out-of-state Republican operatives. The Republicans secretly funded and organized a ballot petition operation that may have been funded by illegal, anonymous contributions, according to reports published this week by the Dallas Morning News. The TDP was forced to take legal action because those involved with this dubious secret Republican-Green Party scheme have refused to be upfront with Texans about the nature of this political contribution, and legal discovery would serve the public interest by shedding light on a murky transaction. As the Dallas Morning News stated in an editorial yesterday, "the legality of the money behind the Green petitions needs to be tested in court."
"Even the Green Party has acknowledged the likelihood that the funds originated from an illegal source. For them to depend on the word of shady out-of-state Republican operatives to determine whether this is illegal would be like depending on the word of BP to determine responsibility for the oil spill," said Texas Democratic Party Chairman Boyd Richie. "If the Green Party is truly concerned that no laws have been broken, they will welcome this judicial review."

    [...]

"Texans need to know the truth about Rick Perry's involvement in the Republican/Green Party petition scam," said Richie. "When the truth is known, we hope voters - especially sincere Green Party supporters and candidates - will realize that their integrity rests on how they address the improper nature of how their candidates' eligibility was bought and paid for by out of state right wing operatives and donors."

This kind of stuff is maddening. We have the chance to have a really good Democratic gov, Bill White, and they are trying to take away votes. Sorry this is so long, but everyone needs to be aware of what shenanigans are going on.

  10. Give a look see at the quote from Ford about how white folks don't have an "e" on the end of Green..... Stay classy S.C.!

State Sen. Robert Ford, D-Charleston, who lost his gubernatorial bid Tuesday, said race could have played a role. The Democratic primary electorate is majority black, as is Greene, but not Rawl. "Vic Rawl had money, but he didn't have enough. He wasn't able to identify himself with black voters," Ford said. "No white folks have an 'e' on the end of Green. The blacks after they left the plantation couldn't spell, and they threw an 'e' on the end."

Well, State Sen. Ford just managed to insult all of the Irish and Jewish "Greenes" running around. The level of ignorance in this country is beyond belief.

Greene is described as follows in this post: "This poor dimwitted son of a bitch clearly has NO idea what is going on, and is clearly responding to talking points and basic instructions provided to him by whoever is behind this farce."

We need to be reminded why Sarah Palin is embraced and financially rewarded for her ignorance, yet this poor guy is ridiculed, condemned, and vilified.

  13. Gryphen, republicans could have voted in the democratic primary to make this guy the nominee, but then they'd have forfeited their vote in the Haley drama--and, I don't think our best candidate, Vinny Sheheen, would've gotten the gubernatorial nomination if that many repubs had been voting democratic. You can vote either way on primary day, but not both ways. You get a democratic or republican ballot.

somebody please let Bill Maher know that we have a clear winner for his Stupidest State Showdown.

I hope S.C. native Stephen Colbert is planning to discuss this in detail.

on a more serious note, this makes me really nervous about the Prop 14 that just passed her in CA. It is now feasible that the Rethugs could pull off something similar to this mess here.

How is this dumb man going to act as a 'senator'? He doesn't have the capacity to be in any elected office as he isn't even able to answer simple questions with a 'yes or no'? He has a felony conviction against him as well! Does anyone know if he has read the Constitution or the Bill of Rights or if he even has the capacity to read? How can this happen? He doesn't appear to come from a 'monied family', so there is no way in hell he paid for his own campaign. He put no advertisements on teevee and radio, so how could people know who he was? He said he walked throughout his state and introduced himself to voters, but he doesn't appear to have the ability to even talk to voters because he can't even answer basic questions! He MUST be STOPPED and NOW! Someone needs to get to the bottom of this fiasco.

I thought this story would be all over the news and the internet today but nada! No one is talking about it. I think this needs some good investigative work by Keith and Rachel. Where was the DNC on this? Why aren't they speaking up? This is obviously a sham brought on by the Republicans and it needs to be exposed. What has happened to our political system?
