It is virtually impossible to get an interview with media shy Todd Palin. Unless of course you happen to be a white supremacist.

From Little Green Footballs:

So who’s Todd Palin palling around with up there in Alaska these days?

Todd and Sarah won’t give interviews to the “lamestream” media, but they’ll make time to meet with white supremacist blogger Robert Stacy McCain.

Really not that surprising considering Sarah Palin's obvious racist tendencies and Todd's connection to the AIP, which is not exactly brimming over with brown skinned members.

As some of you may remember this Stacy McCain guy was part of the right wing smear campaign that went after me when I posted the story about the Palin's marital woes, which the new Vanity Fair article recently confirmed.

What I remember about him is that he had the WORST research skills I had ever witnessed. He seemed to have become convinced that he had discovered some link between myself and the Obama campaign and went way off the rails with this huge conspiracy theory that I was paid to smear Sarah Palin. I actually read it and have absolutely NO idea how he reached the conclusions that he reached.

By the way I have a friend who ran into Todd yesterday and told him who had just interviewed him.  Todd only agreed because  ex-right wing radio host and failed Lt. Governor candidate Eddie Burke told him to trust the guy. You remember Eddie don't you?

Oops. Talk about your "lamestream media!"

Nothing's been confirmed about Sarah Palin because no hardened sources have been utilized in these "journalists" research. Can't American media at least pretend to have high standards and ethics. They're getting worse than Europeans, who are known around the globe for shoddy research and reporting. Next!

honestly, Gryph, if Robert Stacey McCain were not friends with the Palins, I'd be shocked.

Must head over to LGF to see what Charles has to say about this.

That lame RS McCain "interview" yielded nothing. Apparently, it was supposed to invalidate the VF piece. Pathetic.

This is even lamer than the Ben Smith Politico piece that thinks it has a smoking gun because it was actually Gina Louden's FIVE year old child in the stroller Piper was pushing and not Trig. All I learned there is that Palin isn't choosy about stage props--she'll used other people's children too.

I only hope McCain got a good look at the fridge while he was there.

Not all Europeans news organizations have shoddy reputations. Not all American news organizations have sterling ones.

Most of them are linked into a few networks of businesses linked to even fewer corporations such as the Murdoch empire.

Sensationalism has once again risen up to replace solid, factual reporting.

It's nothing new - the term "yellow journalism" goes back to the 19th century. However, you'd think people would have learned to rise above it.

We live in an age dominated by PR reps, the age of celebrity - celebrity status requires no talent, no substance, no truth - just lots of publicity.

Yes, Stacy McCain who thinks slavery was good and interracial marriage is evil. He's the perfect buddy for AIP Todd and his dog whistling racist wife.

Next, Todd and Sarah will be inviting David Duke over
for borrowed road kill and tips on lynching.

I think it is a mistake to discount bloggers as being less than the "journalists" we see in major media sources (magazines, newspapers, news channels, et cetera) because we've lived through major scandals where several of those professional journalists have been proven to plagiarize, make up stories to to "scoop" others, and receive money to promote various right-wing positions or candidates.

Bloggers run the same spectrum as professional journalists - heck some of the latter are even bloggers. You should always consider the source of the information when reading an article of any sort. Even cooking or knitting blogs can have hidden agendas promoting certain products over others just as political blogs promote certain causes or candidates for reasons best not publicized.

However, that said, I am beginning to trust blogs more than media sources because bloggers are less apt to be controlled or owned by corporations. Most are written by individuals who have been drawn to subject out of deep concern.

You simply have to do your research about who is doing research on topics you are interested in. You can find people like Gryphen who repeatedly prove they have integrity, are motivated by principle more than money, and who readily admit if they were mistaken or went over the top.

Gryphen has proven himself to be an honest investigator and his opinions are based both on his personal moral compass and on his intellectual integrity.

When he highlights another blogger's post, I am inclined to trust his judgment.

So ive been thinking. People in general are innately selfish. Everyone has his/her personal agenda for how they can better themselves and their world. It's only after thay when the idea of charity enters said person's mind naturally. Given this biological fact, I have come to the conclusion that people don't vote/not vote for candidates based on personal drama, whether they're married, single, divorced, kids, no kids, or were a prostitute formerly. People vote for candidates whom appeal to them, blindly or intellectually. We as Americans trust those who are shown to have struggled with every day issues and are fighters. I don't necessarily believe Americans on a whole like change as evidenced by the growing tea party movement but we like when "outsiders" (meaning not old and white) rise up and fight a current system.

Case in point. People are not going to not vote for Sarah based on her kids drama, her marital rumors, or her no-filter approach to PR. They are going to continue to support her until she either commits murder or drowns puppies. We like drama. We stalk the president on vacation because we are too absorbed in others lives to live our own. Why does it matter how Todd and Sarah vent anger and have customary spousal disagreements? Why do we care who Bristol dates or who takes WIllow to prom or who Piper has a playdate with or who babysits Trig? Our penchant for soap operas won't deter the strong and capable Sarah Palin from eventually attaining another official position of power. Or she could continue to work as Bill CLinton works, on her own terms.

I don't think Todd's too media shy. I just think he has no penchant for bullshit and that is pretty much what the media is nowadays. Look at Phil's recap of the convo with him. He really couldnt care less about articles and blogs and unregulated media. I have a feeling he feels his purpose is to fish, snowmobile, protect his wife whom he loves, protect his kids and hope they make smsrt decisions, and never miss an opportunity. I've only met him once, but I saw a great deal in him - very human, very loyal, very down to earth good guy, very much in love with Sarah.

7:53, throwing full cans of food at the one you love is NOT customary spousal behavior. I've been married for nearly 25 years and never once in all that time have I ever thrown ANY thing at my spouse. My parents didn't, my in laws didn't, my brothers did not nor did my husband's sister.
Hurling something that could severely injure another person is criminal and borders on psychotic.

Todd and Gryphen should get in the ring for charity.

    I'd pay to see that.

  15. Anonymous8:14 AM

7:53, perhaps not, but we DO tend to NOT elect people who have demonstrated ignorance and are obviously out of their depths. case in point: mccain/palin did not win in 2008. had palin not shown herself to be so unsuitable for the position, i've no doubt obama would not have won.

for those who have bought into the myth, Sarah is this capable person. but for those who are actually WATCHING her and LISTENING to her, she continues to prove the Couric/Gibson interviews had her pegged.

8:02, so todd isn't media shy. so what?

i'v no doubt he cares about sarah deeply. she is the mother of his kids and he's known her most of his life. yes, the feelings are genuine. however, don't assume he is happily married.

Been reading about this and no one has picked up yet that the little guy with the hat is sitting upon the Mystic machine.

Why is he riding the Hugo Chavez special? Doesn't he know that Mystic is owned by Chavez's CITGO oil company?

Now that more people are paying attention it is time to highlight the Palin Hugo Chavez connection. Inquiring minds want to know.

strong and capable? is that why she hides behind facebook and twitter?

is strong an capable why she had to hire a city manager when she was mayor of a town of 6500 people? 6500 people? lol

is strong and capable why she quit her oil and gas commission job before her term was up?

is strong and capable why she quit her governor job before her term is up?

I'm thinking Todd isn't too sophisticated, even after two years of national spotlight. Even assuming for the moment that Todd could trust the interviewer, did he not consider what an interview with this person, and only this person, would look like. It almost wouldn't matter what he said.
And then to tell that he did it because this was a person he could trust!!! unlike any number of other media outlets - including FAUX news.

Robert Stacy McCain is fixated on Sarah Palin, for sure.

This is the guy who outed 'Audrey' and went after Patrick.

Trying to ruin three anti-Palin bloggers with disgusting tactics - hmm...someone has the hots for Sarah.

  24. Anonymous9:18 AM

    Good points, 8:17.

However, I suspect by this point, Sarah represents Todd's meal ticket. After all, he's quit his job to tail her around and sometimes look after the kids.

I agree, just because he cares about Sarah it's no proof they are happily married. In some cases, marriage is a habit or a cage within which people willingly reside.

Todd's bully-boy tendencies tempt me to guess he's more than happy to stay within the safe confines of the arrangement he has with Sarah. Bullies are really cowards. He's safe where he is as long as he doesn't step over the boundaries Sarah sets.

However, hanging with guys like this may be pushing those boundaries a bit too hard if Sarah beings to see it as a liability for him to do so. Hmm - could also be Todd's way of rebelling just a bit.

    What a creepy bunch!

Was really shocked/surprised that fired Eddie Burke (from the radio station)got the number of votes he did in the past election process.

I watched his particular debate and found him to really go after Treadwell. Think he was ticked Treadwell had more financial backing than he - say... from the Tea Party? Wonder why the Palins didn't come out and support him as he supported Sarah during his radio show days? Hummmmm!

Already mentioned in one comment- but is that Robert Stacy Mccain in the picture on the Palin snowmobile?
The one sponsored by MYSTIC- and shilled by Sarah?

Did Todd let this guy into the mancave on Eddie Burkes' good rec?

He got to touch the snowmobile?

How many Palin supporters will agree with what Robert Stacey Mccain has apparently said in the past according to Little Green Footballs.

"it is incorrect to say that slavery was a system based upon racial hatred. Indeed, both white and black Southerners of the era have left us testimony to the cordial and affectionate relations which generally existed between the races in the Old South."

Time to bring up the snowmobile sponsorship AGAIN. And bring up Eddie Burke AGAIN.

That was an interview? Pretty pathetic piece but then look who wrote it. Maybe Todd was just looking for his own McCain.....Sarah has hers now Todd has his. Both McCain's are loony tunes just as both Palin's are. It's a match made in heaven.

I'm sure all that off the record chit chat was about getting the AKIP more involved in the Tea Party group and making sure all the TP members are formally added to the hate groups list.

You are comparing Quittypants' 'work' to Bill Clinton's work on his own terms?
Bill does not charge to go to Haiti and help with the relief efforts. Bill does good work, for the benefit of all human beings.

Quittypants only works for $$$$ and has taught at least one of her children (Bristle) the same work ethic...shill, baby shill.

Why is it okay for Hickel (everyone's hero) to be running as part of the AIP, but Todd is attacked for supposedly belonging to it? Another Palin double standard?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Anonymous6:37 AM

Not sure why this is on LGF, because it's a republican site. I guess even some repubs are openly sick of team Palin.

It's a shame about the Palin family, because they could have become a well respected high-powered political family within the GOP, but they are just too erratic and too extreme. Sarah could have chosen to represent all women instead of eviscerating liberal women. Imagine her support then. Todd could have remained slightly bigoted, as many white AND black people are in America (let's face it), instead of crossing the line into the realm of racism and associating with white supremacists. They could have bible thumped just a little bit softer, and not chosen the wrong side with emerging gay rights or immigrant rights. As it is, with the stances they've taken, they will remain in the small niche they've created, just as Rush Limbaugh successfully created a niche for himself. They've all gotten lots of press and cashed lots of big checks. It's a shame for these people that is their only goal.
