So guess who is going to see Rachel Maddow tonight?

Photo borrowed from Mudflats
Yep, I am one of the lucky few to get a ticket to the big show tonight, and I have to admit I am pretty jazzed.

As most of you are no doubt aware I have been HUGE fan of Maddow's since I first saw her making appearances on MSNBC.

And why wouldn't I be? She is BRILLIANT, and has the best research staff on the planet!

Anyhow when you watch the show tonight, and hear a voice saying "I can't believe I am here!  I am so excited!  Did she just look at me? Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!" THAT is not me.  I am sooo MUCH cooler than that.

I will try to get pictures and post them tomorrow, but I make no promises.  I suck as a photographer and they will probably all be of my thumb, or out of focus, or of the inside of my jacket pocket.  But I will try.

Oh and while we are on the subject of television shows I guess you might all be interested to know that the BBC were here at my house yesterday to interview me. The piece was about Sarah Palin and the midterm elections and, according to the producer, will be broadcast this Friday night on BBC World News America.

I am not sure how I did (I hate being on television!), but you can all judge for yourselves this Friday if you are fortunate enough get the BBC on your telly.

It will be online as well and they are sending me a link.  However I will be in Washington and I am not sure if I will have the time to post it. Or, if after I see the interview, I will even want to post it.

Anyhow stay tuned because this is going to be a busy week, and I am sure to get into trouble at least a few times before the weekend.  You know how I am.

You ROCK Gryph! I am so jealous - getting to see Rachel AND going to DC for the Rally. Couldn't happen to a better person. I'll be there with you in spirit.

In case I haven't said it before (smile) Thank you so very much for all you do for us. You're the first place I visit in the morning and the last at night. You never disappoint. As I said before - YOU ROCK! Have a blast. You deserve it!

How exciting! I'd love to see Rachel Maddow live. She is brilliant.

o/t looks like the MSM is starting to pick up the Rand Paul thug supporter story.

the victim of the brutal attack, Lauren Valle, has a concussion.

I already DVR'd it the BBC show. Good for you. It's about time people started paying attention to you. I think the closer we get to Paylin announcing her run, the repugs will be all over your site trying to find the dirt on her.

It will be a great day indeed. I guess she'll find out people don't like hatefull, snide, nasty, crude witches.

I wish I could be there to see Rachel, my hubby and I love her too.

Have a fun and safe trip to DC.

    When it rains, it pours.

I'm impressed that Rachel & crew managed to get the time to make it to AK (doesn't it take a minimum of 18 hours to go from NY to AK?). Doubly impressive, since she was on the Today show yesterday morning (her Tiller documentary eked out time in her hectic schedule).

Since she's filming at the Taproot cafe, bet she focuses on the Drop Zone & Miller's militia ties.

Despite your schedule, please do post BBC link (even if it's days later) for those of us with just basic cable (no BBC America).

You lucky dog, too excited for your day today.

I'm so happy she's going to your state and doing her show there. Just like the one she did in Delaware, to take the pulse of the locals. It ought to be great! I'm lucky enough to live in the same small town she calls home when she's not in nyc and can tell you she really is an amazing person. Everyone who has ever had anything to do with Rachel just loves the woman. She's so smart!

Have fun and enjoy it. Goodness knows, you've earned some good times connected with your blog. I suspect you are the kind of person who enjoys life generally, so I believe you've know how to live a good and joyous life regardless, but the blogging side has been a bit rough for you at times because of your courage and tenacity in searching for and standing up for the truth.

We all wish you a fun and productive experience tonight and at the rally in D.C. We know you will help us feel as if we were right by your side - but better because we will be allowed inside your head. That's not a bad place to be if your posts are any indication.

Take care both tonight and this weekend. Come back to us renewed and refreshed and ready for the election next week!

I'm thrilled and jealous all at the same time! Complex emotions, but you deserve all the great karma, ten times over. You're always putting yourself on the line for us and taking the time to maintain this blog. LOTS of work and chutzpah involved! I'm sure you did well in your TV interview too, can't wait to see it.

Enjoy and savor it all! I have a "best-girlfriend-crush" on the inimitable Rachel, too. Been a fan since the early days of her radio show on AAR. What a blast to see her in "action"--wonder if Kent will be with her as well?

Can't wait to see the show...

Off subject: Did anyone hear Mark Beigich on the Stephanie Miller Radio show this morning? It was all about Scott McAdams....a good thing. AND Mark did not mince words about The Quitter....stay tune for the Twitters to fly as she goes after him.

When my kids were in junior high, girls like her were called "femi-nazis"...they ran in packs and thrived on emasculating males. Same deal.

Jealous here in SC. Rachel brings class to where ever she goes! I hope with Rachel's show that the Nation becomes more aware of what a jewel you all have with Scott McAdams, who IMHO is an up and coming Statesman which is an endangered species nowadays.

One serious item that I think needs to be addressed and yelled from the rooftops, is to get the message out to voters to not treat voting as if they are voting on a horse race.i.e. picking the horse with the best odds based on some poll and by what the news outlets are ginning up. There are folks who treat their vote as if it's a bet on which horse will win just to say they picked a 'winner'. I say stay home to those folks. Instead, place your bet/vote on WHO YOU WANT to represent you.

PS - have a wonderful time at the DC Woodstock this weekend!

  23. It's gonna be a fun night and great week for Uncle Gryphen! Have a blast and a beer or two on me.

It's probably too much to hope that Sarah's skeletons can go on parade this Halloween week but I just can't help myself from imaging that some compelling babygate/eargate info gets passed on to Rachel while she's in AK.

    I just want to say:

    I'm jealous!

I love Rachel. She's my favorite. My son got me a DVR because of Rachel. No one could talk to me, or make any noise once Rachel came on. I wanted to hear every single word she spoke, so there were to be no distractions from 9-10pm ! LOL

Now, I can watch or rewind to my hearts content. I love Rachel.

    Have fun tonight.

Wonderful Rachel maddow show tonight. First time I had seen Scott McAdams on camera, and he seems very energetic. His staff were working the phones big time.

The Miller piece on the other hand was a joke, just as he appears to be. Vaguely answered a couple of questions before jumping in an SUV and speeding away from Rachel.

Gryphen, did you get to meet her in person ?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yes I did meet Rachel at the Dena'ina Center. and if you watch as she chases Joe Miller out of the building you will see me numerous times.

BTW she told me has been reading my blog. THIS was a great day!

I will put much of Rachel's show up first thing in the morning. I don't know how it looked on TV but from the audience it looked AMAZING!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm with Anon 7:04 AM.

However..... I'm excited to know if Rachel Maddow is as incredible and intellectually formidable in person as she is on Television!

What was your impression of the personality in reality behind the 2D TV set?
