Finished!

I just read the last word on page 456 of the leaked manuscript, and my totally impartial opinon of this potential blockbuster is....  Damn!

There is a lot of amazing and incredibly damaging things in the book as it pertains to Todd and Sarah (It is a close call, but I think Todd comes off a little worse.), and there is the fascinating opportunity to view Sarah Palin at the beginning of her political career through the eyes a self professed "Palin-bot," that all on its own will make this book a must have for those of us who have often wondered "just what is the damn attraction?"

As I type this there are many news sites and blogs taking down their "cut and paste" excerpts from the manuscript in response to the cease and desist letter that they received from the co-authors legal representative, while others are stubbornly putting internet clicks and a temporary increase in  viewership over any possibility of lawsuit.

Believe me I understand the temptation to post huge sections of the manuscript and indulge in an orgy of self congratulations and "I told you so's" as so much in those pages back up almost everything that I maintained was happening behind the scenes. The exhilaration of seeing printed in e-mails what I could only imagine must be happening within the deep dark depths of Palin-land is hard to put into words.

However to do so would risk a possible lawsuit and, more importantly, might potentially impact how quickly this manuscript will get published.  So once again my desire to be FIRST with the breaking news must take a backseat to helping to get this book into the hands of an anxiously waiting public.

To be completely honest I was disappointed that some rather large scandals and incidents that were covered extensively by the blogs and new sites were virtually ignored in the book, but I do understand that this is Frank Bailey's version of what happened and some of the things that WE thought were big deals just did not interest him. (Or else he did not want to relive parts of the timeline that made him particularly uncomfortable.)

However there is ONE very important point repeatedly made about Sarah Palin in this manuscript that I feel the authors would not mind that I share with you.  And that is that this.....

Sarah Palin on "hurt feelings" from Dennis Zaki on Vimeo.

..is absolute bullshit.  In fact Sarah Palin may be one of the MOST thin skinned people on the planet. (Video of Sarah's return to Alaska on November 5, the day after the 2008 election.)

If you thought Sarah Palin was vindictive, you will not be disappointed by this book.

If you thought the personal mythology about her family was bullshit, this is the book for you.

And if you thought that Sarah Palin uses her looks to get away with everything just shy of murder, this book will make that an absolute certainty.

Another thing that I am going to share as that it is definitely possible that when the finished product finally does hit the bookshelves it may contain quite a lot of new information NOT contained in this leaked manuscript.  So if you believe that it will not get published because it is all over the internet, don't worry about that.  Remember there were 60,000 e-mails, and only a small portion made it into THIS particular version.  There is much more that can still be added.

    Hi Gryphen,

Thank you so much for reading the book and blogging about it while also respecting and protecting the work put in by the co-authors.

For my part, I'm still waiting to hear JmG speak for himself and still waiting for Morris, Bailey and Devon to explain why they zeroed in on only one person when in fact, everyone admits the manuscript has been sent around by multiple people.

Could it be that all of this is pre-planned legal and publicity stunt-ish maneuvering by Morris, the ex Wall St exec who wrote the post naming JmG on AKM?

I tried posting this comment three times on HuffPo and very surprisingly, they refuse to publish it.

    What's that about?

From James Wolcott's Vanity Fair article:

"RightNetwork is funded by a wealthy benefactor with an agenda, Comcast-Spectacor chairman Ed Snider, whose media outfit also owns the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team. It was Snider who invited Sarah Palin to drop the hockey puck at the Flyers’ season opener in 2008, and Palin’s been dropping pucks ever since."

Now, what's up with McLeod coming out against Bailey, Devon and Morris? (paragraph 9: http://www.adn.com/2011/02/21/1714921/rival-accused-of-leaking-former.html)

P.S. Did you remember to go back and delete those huge chunks of the manuscript that were posted in the comments?

I'm sorry, I just absolutely HATE her stupid voice. There is a scene in a movie where a guy says to another guy, "Shut up, shut up, shut your stupid face," and that is what I think when I watch something like Zaki's video.

That voice can launch a thousand missiles.

I can see getting by on her looks if she kept her mouth shut, if she remained a cipher, behind her Press Releases, spokespeople, Facebook posts and Tweet's. . .

If she were charming (and not in her Calamity Sarah way, that is not charming at all) and had a heart of gold - but she is a vindictive, emotionally and intellectually stunted shrew - so that voice should have kept her back - kept her a dreaded "anonymous" and forever relegated to the Rouge Cou she is - without the the implied romance that can be associated with such standing.

  14. I usually can't stand to listen to her voice, but I did click on the link. I'm no body language expert, but it was interesting that the whole time she was saying how she had to get a thick skin, she was shaking her head 'no.'

    ReplyDelete
  15. Anonymous4:34 AM

EVERYTIME she speaks, she reveals to the world how in over her head she is - it is a wonder how she got as far as she has, truly, with or without her looks.

This book is a godsend, I'm sure it will be published and become part of the true narrative of the False Frontier First Family they worked so hard to build. Like the way they communicate through refrigerator dents, push-up bra's and spanx.

How building a brand off of a cute but completely know-nothing, underachieving family is beyond me.

It's paid off though. They are celebrated as exceptional for nothing.

My god, there are dozens of really good families in the Valley, with noble and quiet intentions and true charity in their hearts - and to have the Palin's elevated and represented as accomplished is an embarrassment not only to Mat-Su, but the whole State.

I know AKM's taste and sense of decorum only allowed them so much material to work with, and for that, Sarah should be kissing the ground. And Todd also too.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I also wanted to say, that Lawrence O'Donnell covered this story on The Last Word last night. He read some of the emails written by Sarah, and one of the last ones was how she stated that "the networks are not our friends" in reference to only granting interviews to Fox. It was all O'Donnell could do not to laugh, but he looked right into the camera after reading that and said, "What, Sarah? Was it something we said?" Priceless.

Yes it is hugely important that the mss. was leaked and who and why it was leaked. And the harm that has done the authors and the complexity of getting it published.

In the end though the point is Sarah. To show Sarah for who she has been and is.

Supposing, just supposing the worst, that Bailey and his emails are a plant and the mss., and the leak were manipulated, all from Sarah's side.
The intention being to embarrass and discredit certain bloggers and authors we know and respect.
When that is discovered, and it will be, who will look the worse, the authors and bloggers or Sarah and her gang of thugs.

Let's be patient and alert and mature about this.

If this is a huge punk Sarah looks bad, if it is not Sarah looks bad.

(If it is a huge punk then that's the next book for someone to research and sell.)

I dont doubt there's big things that havent been leaked. However, what has been leaked shows nothing remotely big. It also shows nothing that any other politician hasn't engaged in. Remember, Bill CLinton's racism is documented in Game Change. Ignorant gaffes exist for all politicos. All politicians are obsessed with the perception of them.

I fear everyone will just write her off as "just another politician' which is how most people already view her and have always viewed her.

Did anyone see the defence on C4P? 1st they are making out that Bailey had a crush on Palin... like some crazy peron I haven't read the book so I don't know what to think. Also, they claim not one email from Palin proved that she consulted with the RGA, and some other claim. They mention something about Palin Hanging up on Bristol... I wish I could read the manuscript; at least I'd have an insight! Here's what was said by a Sheya, her summary of the book ---------------------------
Bailey goes on about her complaining about every little thing and how she constantly tried to find someone to blame. Newsflash: she’s a politician. That’s what they do. They’re all concerned about their image and their reputation. It’s not as if Obama doesn’t get ticked off with the stupid little things. The only politician that I know that truly didn’t care was GW Bush.

Bailey idolized her and put her on a pedestal and thought she was God or something. He thought she was flawless. He didn’t realize she was human and did what humans do. He felt let down when it became apparent she was human. Humans have bad days, occasionally let off some steam, have arguments with their spouses, and even get impatient with their children.

I also think Bailey had a crush on her and tried to walk on eggshells in order to never disappoint her. But he never got the same from her. For her, it was a professional relationship. For him, there was some fantasy and eventually lust turned to hate.

It also appears that Bailey couldn’t handle disagreement and if there was disagreement, he took it as if he was shut out from her circle.

As for when she allegedly hung up on Bristol, let’s assume that it did happen for the sake of argument. I have 4 kids and trust me, I’ve done that many times. I love my kids and in most cases, I’ll drop everything for them. But come on, sometimes you’re busy with something and your kid bugs you and you just want to hang up. The guy takes the challenges that we all encounter as humans and tries to turn her into a monster.

Nearly all of her supporters recognize she’s a human being that can make mistakes and has bad days. We support her because we believe in her principles, we believe in what she stands for, and we believe that she would put the nation on the right track. For Bailey, it was more than that. He got caught up in idolizing her and lusting for her. When he realized she’s just human, all his beliefs were shattered and everything human she’s ever done suddenly became evil acts.

I think this book is more a story of his obsession than a story of anything she did wrong.

Of course her family supports her. The Heaths and Todd Palin and even their offspring believe they are the opposite of their real selves. That habitual lies are but means to an end. This is twisted as smarter and clever unlike fools. My point is they share their pathological or sock and twisted belief system up is down and ear others with your dirt.

What about the new allegations from McLeod that Bailley is profiting from inside information, i.e. emails, that still have not been disclosed to those legally requesting them. This is illegal according to McLeod. He can't profit from the emails. I thought I recalled that Bailley had somehow said his emails were different in nature than official government business.

Here is part of her assertion:
"Alaska law prohibits employees to use or disclose information acquired in the course of their official duties for any benefit and personal gain, if that information has not been made public. And, employees can’t use or disclose information acquired in the course of their official duties if that information is confidential by law."

My favorite part, LOL funny, when she screwed up the scheduling of an appearance at a GOP event and was replaced by Newt Gingrich:

“Yes, (Newt/GOP) are egotistical, narrow minded machine goons… but all the more reason God protected me from getting up on stage in front of 5000 political and media ‘elites’ to praise him, then it be shown across the nation.” Palin wrote in the e-mail.

“At some point Newt would have shown his true colors anyway and we would have been devastated having known we’d earlier prostituted ourselves up in front of the country introducing him and acting like that good ol’ rich white guy is the savior of the party,” she continued.

Palin went on to express another reason she was thankful to the almighty that she wasn’t attending the fundraising gala.

“Plus, I had nothing to wear, and God knew that too."

Ha, GOD worries about Palin's wardrobe! No wonder the world is so effed up right now!

You support her because of her principles? Which one would those be? Her work ethic? Honesty? Intelligence? You must be joking.

She couldn't handle her job as mayor of the little town of Wasilla, even leaving it with a $20 million+ debt because of the disastrous sports complex. She was a lazy and unethical Governor for a couple of years, and then of course she up and quit, saying she would go on to do great things for Alaska. (She actually just went on to line her coffers with money from suckers who bought her book and paid to listen to her vapid speeches.) She lies about everything big and small--from claiming she was "exonerated" by the Branchflower report, to stating Track is a combat vet. (There are NO combat awards or patches listed on his DD214, which has been obtained under the FOIA and posted on the web.)She talked herself up as an expert sportswoman who could field dress a moose; then on her reality show, it became clear she couldn't handle a rifle.

She knows nothing. She suggested to Bill O'Reilly that the Gulf oil leak might be contained with dikes. She's insensitive enough to use a term like "blood libel" after she received criticism for her sickeningly self-serving comments after the shootings in Tucson. Her endless portrayal of herself as a noble victim is enough to gag a maggot.

Based on her actions, her personal goals seem to be nothing more than self-aggrandizement, belittling the President, and accumulating wealth. She's bitter and arrogant, not caring and humble. If you admire her characteristics, fine, but you are in the minority. Most of us see her for what she really is, as revealed by her disastrous negative poll numbers. Even conservative Iowans don't think she's qualified for office. I know of no other public figure who has been so disliked by so many of his or her former inner circle. That speaks volumes.

As impatient as many are to read this book digitally, I'd recommend publishing the hard cover first. In 6-9 months release a digital version.

The digital demographic is just not as large, but more importantly, it'll end up on torrents, like movies and music-wave bye bye to profits. Especially because of the subject matter.

I don't listen nor watch that self serving grifter, that irritating voice notwithstanding.

Ultimately, I want to see laws that supposedly are in place to protect this 'democracy' from her ilk, do their jobs and see her in an orange jumpsuit, frogmarched to prison along with her enablers and thieving accomplices.

    Well, I can dream...hmm?

    ps.
HufPo sucks, it's a bloody echo chamber, your different opinion is not welcome. Carry on the freaking back slapping parade. lol.

    OT but too funny:

A Progressive insurance ad appeared below this post on Gryphen's blog and I decided to click on the Flo bobblehead (just yesterday, Husband and I were wondering what Flo's name was - now I know). Anyway, as I clicked and clicked different cute messages came up, telling me I was really getting into this, that I was good at it, loved my commitment, I should go Pro, that I could get my picture on a cereal box, "or star on a celebrity dance show."

    Great ad, great placement! Bwahhahaha.

Chenagrrl: "...What now? Time to run for Mrs. America!"
Donald Trump's Celebrity Apprentice. Oh, yeaahh. That's a show I would watch, and I don't watch the present generation of televised dramatic crap, none of it. Sarah Palin pits her "business owner", "managed" Wasilla, and "CEO of the state" skills against fresh-faced MBAs, law school graduates and real business owners.
C'mon, Trump, get her on that show. All you have to do is ask.
    Sarah. Do it.

5:48 - "As for when she allegedly hung up on Bristol, let’s assume that it did happen for the sake of argument."
What are you talking about. Does that refer to something in the manuscript? Have you read it, too? Tell us a story.

4:53 AM - "OK you are just being annoying now. Really. You know stuff, you knew stuff all along, you can't say, other blogs have said it but you won't. But the stuff is HUGE. It's just annoying."
Yep yep, right over here with you. I think too much drama and spin actually takes the wind out the sails and ruins the story.

We don't know what happened here. Only a few back players really know what's going down, and they're not saying.

Gryphen, I suspect Bailey doesn't talk about those scandals in which his own role crossed the line into illegal activity, or at least involved him doing things he's not ready to own up to yet.

I don't think it would be violating anything if you told us what events you're talking about--you know, the ones Bailey didn't talk about. I mean.... Oh, you know what I mean! What did he leave out?

Jealous much? Not much attention to YOUR little blog, so you come here to lecture Gryphen on how to conduct his?

Gryphen ABSOLUTELY has earned a bit of self-congratulation. He has worked his ass off, pretty much 24/7 to expose and inform all things Palin.

Why would you come here and shit on his moment of triumph? Who are you to tell him what is 'necessary' or not. You are just a blog reader here, and nothing else. Just like the rest of us. Stop acting all 'I'm better than you Gryphen'.

If you don't like the way that he expresses himself, you have a choice, you damn well don't have to come here to read.

Note to LynnRockets @ 6:12 AM:

It's patronizing, petty and unprofessional for one blog writer to visit another blog to criticize that blog owner. I voted for you recently in your local blog competition (which you won). I'm sorry now that I voted for you. I respect each blog owner's right to present their content and persona the way they want. If anyone should know that, you should. FAIL. I despise pettiness.

(No, I'm not Gryphen. Just a reader who enjoys many different blogs.)

Normal people shouldn't become friends with a psychopath like Sarah and share her confidences. Sarah will sell her friends down the river without blinking. The shocked former friends could then publicise her dastardly secrets (and emails written by Sarah's own hand...heh...heh).

...Although this does make for great entertainment for the rest of us! And it confirms Sarah's paranoia, indecency, and unfitness to serve the public in any capacity.

Befriend Sarah Palin at your own peril.

    Hey LYNNROCKETS!

Major frickin' fail on your post. What an ass. SERIOUSLY. Didn't anyone ever tell you about blog etiquette? Are you the kind of person to go to someone's house and criticize their decor, or trash their kids, or diss their food. REALLY? Do you need to be schooled in proper behavior? Worse than that, Gryphen offers the COURTESY of linking your blog and you come here and trash him? I will say this Ms. Rockets. I will NOT be visiting your blog again until you extend a full-throated apology for your thoughtless post. And I'll bet I'm not alone.

That's one of the things I always thought was hilarious - when Palin tried to portray herself as thick-skinned. That couldn't be further from the truth. The truth is, she is the epitome of childish pettiness.

The Palinbots are sure running scared. They're going into delusional stupors and spinning out of control. It's like the foundation of the Church of Sarah is being threatened by.....Sarah herself. It's freakin' hilarious to witness how her faithful are becoming more disillusioned with their idol.

Thanks bloggers, authors, and MSM for continuing to expose Sarah for the unethical lowlife that she truly is.

I have avoided making a comment about Sarah's looks, clothes, makeup, etc., but this photo has pushed me over the edge. (Really, her looks have nothing to do with anything.) BUT, in this photo it looks like a drunk person tried to draw a line around her mouth and missed. It makes her look like an idiot.
