Glenn Beck seems to be suffering some kind of nervous breakdown right out in front of God and everybody.

From Mediaite:

“It is difficult to deny at this point, isn’t it? Isn’t it? Is it a little hard to deny that radicals, Islamicists, Communists, Socialists will work together against Israel, against Capitalism, and they’ll try to work together to overturn stability? Who in the media is telling you this? Who? Name them! Where are they? How can they possibly deny it at this point? And why wouldn’t they tell you these things? Why?”

Here let me take a stab at this.  "Why won't they tell us these things?  Because it's insane! And you need a long vacation in a tiny padded room."

    "full goose bonzo"

    ???!???

Did you create a brand spanking new tag just for watching him circle the drain in a soggy newspaper sailboat?

Glenn should have been fired long ago, he is a vile lying piece of trash. Of course, he has his part to play for Fox to try to smear the democrats and President Obama.

I used to think it was all an act but lately I believe he is really mentally ill.

He pretends to be such a good church person but lies and makes up such disgusting junk.

His ratings have really gone downhill and he has lost a boatload of sponsors.

Beck lives in a strange world within his disturbed mind. I had to turn it off about halfway thru because his voice grates on me worse then palin's. The whole time he was ranting I was laughing and found myself calling him a bonehead out loud. WTF?? He is simply crazy. A very strange and odd man. It amazes me that anyone at all can actually believe what he says on ANY topic. yikes

  5. It would be nice if he just lost it and they dragged him off drooling and peeing. I'm really tired of that little man and his stupid chalkboards. I'd like to shove one of those chalkboards up his ass.

I wanna see fruitcake Palin on his show freaking out about the emails.
Reading these and seeing the coverage they're getting - the hysterics they're causing, rocks bigtime.

I have been thinking about what "Sarah Palin, The Musical" might be like and imagining the cast and how funny it could be...like Evita but with a kick line and lots of legs, stringy wigs being tossed and maybe a snow machine roaring around the stage every so often. But now I think we might see "Glenn Beck, The Musical" way sooner. The cast wouldn't have to be so large and the whole production would be cheaper than "Sarah" because the only thing that would need to be done is put his rantings to music and have Max Headroom play Beck. You could have Beck play Beck but no one would come to see it.

Beck is copying the heated rhetoric of every dictator in recent history and he has become very adept at using the pointer/riding crop to violently punctuate his furious delivery.
That man is a danger to all!

He is dangerous as a previous poster said. We can laugh and call him crazy but this is a serious situation because he influences a lot of unbalanced unhappy people.
What's truly amazing is that Fox has kept him on this long even after he has lost most advertisers. It proves how badly Murdoch and Ailes (SP?) want to promote crazy far right rhetoric. They are the # 1 " news" (really opinion) network!!!!!! What does this say about our country.
    To me it is SCARY!
Also Beck is pushing his warped version of the " end times" He isn't the only one watching the middle east and
thinking what is going on is the beginning if the end. Add in the crazy weather patterns, earthquakes, etc and people like Sarah and others see the book of revelations coming alive.
This is a very scary time in our country and the world. I just hope sane people like in Madison continue to rise ip and protest or these extremists just might end up running the US.

It would be funny if he wasn't taking down a whole bunch of other unstable people down this scary downward spiral. People who WILL become so paranoid by what Beck is telling them, they will eventually use violence to harm their perceived enemies. We know they do this, just look at that nut that was headed to the Tides Foundation to gun them all down.

I wonder if this deputy AG in Indiana listens to Glenn Beck. He's calling for live ammunition to be used against protestors. http://motherjones.com/politics/2011/02/indiana-official-jeff-cox-live-ammunition-against-wisconsin-protesters

Is he trying to look like Ben Stein? Those glasses do NOTHING for him, except make him look like a geek. His ratings must be seriously falling and he is trying to outdo himself to get them up.

I am late to the party or have not given attention to the message of Beck's rants and raving diatribes. Is theessage that extremist Muslims are going to turn on Israel (symbolic of Christianity) therefore we are to wipe out all Muslims before they do it to us. Also Obama is on board to transform America to radical Muslim terrorist rule?

I felt fear listening to Beck. He is an actual terrorist domestically. Sometimes being the only one to say or do such things is due to insanity of a mind more extreme of irrational thoughts.

Yes, Beck is a vile, lying piece of trash. I think after Mrs. Todd Palin's "political" persona is toast, she and Beck will team up for the "Fleece the Suckers" Evangelical Hour.

I believe he sees the uprising of the people of Egypt as a personal threat.

  18. Anonymous6:17 AM

When he first became popular, he was simply a clown who used his crazy raving to rile up his semi-illiterate followers for ratings. I was always convinced he knew that the garbage he was spewing was absurd.

Now I think he's starting to believe his own line of BS and he's slowly slipping over the edge. There's an edge of hysteria to his rantings now that wasn't there before. He's gone from being an over-the-top showman to being an unbalanced fear monger.

If he wasn't so damn dangerous in his ability to convince people that there really are these terrifying conspiracies to take over the world, it would actually be sad. As it is, he needs to be removed from the airwaves and given a thorough mental evaluation.

  19. Anonymous6:43 AM

It amazes me that he is allowed to spew his venom in a pubic forum and that he got so rich from doing so. He tries to instill fear of muslims, but in fact, it is Glenn Beck who we should all be scared of. Beck represents everything that is so terribly wrong with this country. It makes me sad. And I actually know people who like him.

  21. Anonymous7:21 AM

Yes, yes and yes. While we can all agree that Glenn Beck has some sort of psychological problem (ya think?), the terrifying thing is that he is regularly allowed to broadcast on our airwaves. This is pure propaganda technique, at its absolute worst. He uses emotion to stir up hatred for an amorphous "enemy". He insists that his listeners should be very, very afraid, and I am quite sure he succeeds in making them all feel they are under siege.

This is the mental state of those who would go on violent rampages. They are so fearful and feel so helpless against perceived adversaries that they take control and start shooting. This guy talks about guns all the time.

It should be illegal, what he does on a daily basis. When are the Feds going to shut him down? When it's too late?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Anonymous7:30 AM

Ok, did he just show a black power fist image there before launching into a speech on the "enemy within"? This guy is such a freaking racist. What is he suggesting here?

This is right out of 30's Germany. Blame anyone deemed different for one's economic woes.

This is the real pressure on many people, and he is exploiting it just like the Devil would.

Yes, I mean the real Devil. I mean real evil. It exists, you know.

For want of a better name it's likely the Lady Gaga effect. No talent celebrities have to become increasingly bizarre in order to draw the attention they need to keep the money rolling in. Does this remind you of anyone else we know? LOL

I like the Sarah Palin--the musical idea. That one is such an obvious money maker that it's inevitable.

Precisely WHY would "radicals, Islamicists, Communists, Socialists... work together against Israel, against Capitalism?" What common interest could POSSIBLY bind them?

Does Beck not understand the inherent animosity of Islamicists and Communists? Is this man utterly incapable of registering cognitive dissonance?

Beck's claims are as coherent as those whom suggest that because President Obama appoints czars it is evidence that he is a communist. You certainly can't argue with "logic" like that.

Beck is an odious little turd and thicker than shit. Can you imagine any business actually WANTING to sponsor him? There can be little doubt that any remaining sponsors are simply run by batshit crazy loons whose businesses we should all shun.

Why is this asshole still on TV?

Several Arab related groups, I don't honestly remember the names, though one was the Black September, were bombing sites in Europe, dozens if not hundreds of passenger airplanes were being hijacked and ransomed, and sometimes blown up with the passengers inside, the Munich Olympics was the sight of a horrible terrorist attack.. That was in the 60's and seventies, at the same time as all the unrest, demonstrations, riots and political murders going on in this country as our economy tanked under the pressure of the cost of the Vietnam war.

Look up Achille Lauro, Entebbe, Kent State, Chicago Riots, Cuba, Lebanon, Jackson State, Vietnam, Watts Riots, freedom marches, antiwar demonstrations, lynchings, assassinations of MLK, KFK and others, Missie crisis, Bay of Pigs, the 6 day war and its predecessors, the crash of Arrow Air Flight 1285 in Gander Newfoundland.
And that was preceded with 10+ years of living in fear of an atomic attack, and hiding under our desks in grade school through highschool (we had separate fire drills and nuclear bomb drills).

That was during the Korean War, which was preceded by WW II,which was preceded by much bloody unrest in Europe..... Great Depression, WW I, August Rebellion ....

The world swings back and forth between periods of relative calm and relative up upheaval.

Beck is full of shit and his audience has a lot of post WW II baby boomers and older who should know better because they lived through some or all of the above.

I think "Glenn Beck, the Musical" needs Rush as at least a waddle on and played by Jabba the Hut.

The only actor I can think of who can act insane enough to be Glen and not over play the part is Jack Nicholson.

Sarah the Musical would be Peyton Place run backwards on LSD.

If somehow some playwright can catch the surreal/fictional aspects of Sarah's personality with some decent music and supporting cast (lots of amorphous squashed bodies of actors from earlier in the play drifting throughout) it could by a knock out.

There is a something about Sarah that makes many of us wonder if she is real, like a highly dysfunctional Soap Opera character who escaped through a black hole and came out Sarah.

That is a lot of her fascination. She doesn't seem real.

I think Beck lives in the same delusional world that Muammar Gaddafi resides! The similarity between Glenn's little lectures and Muammar's rambling speech yesterday are mind-boggling. Both are given by idiotic megalomaniacs who are drinking the crazy sauce!

What we also had while we were hiding under our desks at school was a demagogue senator named Joseph McCarthy who proclaimed that the "enemy within" were Communists. Many of these "enemies" were were actors and writers from stage and screen. How many lives were vilified until he had his downfall? If you think,I am joking, go to you tube and search for U.S propaganda movies of the 1950's.
Unfortunately what we have now is, in a way, more scary:
24/7 news outlets who are dependent on ratings. Outrage insures more ratings, just look at the tone of reality shows.
We have no rules that both sides must be heard in a news program.
We have the Internet which does foster polarization.
We have uneducated groups who either didn't study our history or chose to revise it according to their world view.
We have uneducated groups who want simplistic answers to complex problems or better yet conspiracy theories and love how Beck connects the dots.
We have uneducated groups who admire people in public life for their looks, and appeal, not for their ability to think critically.
Imagine if Walter Cronkite had started spewing such idiocies on his nightly news program. CBS would have suggested a nice rest, immediately.
We have members from the Congress, Senate, as well as their counterparts on a state level, who do not think critically. They would rather pander to groups in order to get re-elected. Now we are in 24/7 re-election cycle.
It is my hope that Beck will eventually self-destruct. PS: I still don't know wtf Beck was speaking about.
PPS: Will this end? I hope so but I ,too, like Beck's followers are scared but for different reasons.
