The former Vice Presidential candidate arrived in Jerusalem on Sunday as part of her whirlwind trip that many think is meant to bolster her foreign policy credentials leading up to a possible 2012 presidential run.
She visited India earlier this week.
Sporting what appears to be a necklace with the Jewish symbol of a Star of David, the Alaska resident visited the Western Wall, the holiest place where Jews can pray.
She also toured Jerusalem's Old City and is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday.
"Israel is absolutely beautiful and it is overwhelming to see and touch the cornerstone of our faith and I am so grateful to be here," the devout Christian told reporters. "I'm very thankful to know that the Israeli and American link will grow in strength as we seek peace along with you."
(You have to love that guy's face as he spies Palin coming out of the Western Tunnels in Jerusalem. That is how Alaskans feel about her as well.)

It will come as no surprise to any of us that Palin has refused to allow any Israeli journalists to ask her any questions about her beliefs, or her political aspirations, or even how she is enjoying the weather:
Palin did not comment to Israeli reporters at the airport and was whisked away in a white van.
She kept the reporters in India as far away as possible too, don'tcha know:
Here's another fun note. According to the AP, reporters (who'd been promised an invite) were barred access at the last minute, while Palin insisted on the TV and web broadcast, "I will not sit back and take media criticism...."
Let's face it Palin can fly all over the damn planet if she wants, but as long as she continues to harbor her overwhelming distrust of the media, she is never going to be able to run for anything.
The majority of Americans are simply never going to accept a candidate as viable so long as she hides behind Facebook and Twitter like an overweight, insecure thirteen year old who is terrified of her peers.

Curious about her manner of dress visiting the Western Wall. She is appealing to the more conservative/orthodox in the community and women are not permitted to wear pants in public, nor tops that are below their neckline. The difference between Senator Obama (before becoming POTUS) and Quitter Palin is obvious. Then Senator Obama would go to other countries and talk to their citizens who stood as far as the eyes could see (exaggerating a little there, but he did have a lot of people attend his speeches). Where as Palin goes to other countries solely to collect a paycheck and she forbids the media from following her or asking her questions.

If Sarah wants to be allowed the latitude that private citizens get, she should stop surrounding herself with security and hiring local police forces to protect her from her own fans. She should stop accepting Faux's blood money paychecks. Until she does those things, she's a public figure who has a responsibility to either stop sowing hatred and dissent, or live with the remarks that her behavior inspires.

Most people with any interest in the country would stay for a few days to explore the culture and visit at least several regions. ReplyDeleteTrig is 3 and cannot swallow foods, which means he cannot control his mouth and facial muscles enough to do so. This is a common problem in DS children and that is why good parents get them into a Zero to 3 program designed just for DS kiddos. The learning window for any child drops off sharply at age 3 and without being able to vocalize by now Trig will probably never speak more than a few words very poorly. It is a shame that his wealthy parents did not take care of his needs and it's too bad child services never stepped in.

Another poster brought up the fact that this was an extremely short trip for such long distance travel. Why didn't she extend it so she could actually travel through India and see the beauty of the country prior to her speech, then go on to Israel for her "meeting" with Netanyahu (wonder who set that up for her?? anyone have any idea?) and spend a few days in Israel afterwards if she's as interested as she claims to be? I've been to both and spent just under a week in Israel and 8 or 9 days in India and would love to have had more time. The people in India were so friendly and welcoming. We visited extended family in Israel who were living there for a year when their company relocated them and to this day, they talk about how eye-opening it was to live abroad in a country like Israel. They enjoyed their time there and loved the people. Palin's reasoning most likely has to do with $$$ because she sure as hell doesn't like spending any of her own and was probably told by her accountant that SarahPAC couldn't be charged for the extra money spent. Palin hasn't been overwhelmed with offers for speeches lately so she could have spent more time there if she wanted to. Perhaps it was the fact that Todd was with her and they don't spend that amount of time together without the kids or anyone else around. I can't say I blame Todd.

I would think taking world history classes, reading everything possible about different countries and meeting with lots of people from all sides of disputes, might give someone insite. It takes years to be expertise, not 1 or 2 days in a country. It's laughable. this is the same person who has Bristol as a political advisor. If's she is such as christian, what about wearing symbols- idols. That also means the religious nuts idolizing her. They need to read the bible more.They are selective of what they follow from the bible.
