Rachel Maddow on the President's speech concerning the federal budget. Spoiler alert, she really, really liked it!
There's a part of me that always wishes that Pres. Obama would just get angry enough to start kicking ass. I'm really sick of the rethugs stomping on the poor and middle class. I'm also sick of all the wacko religious right who are trying to get control.
But once again the President proves he is the adult in the room. He knows that totally alienating an entire group of people with angry words and hissy fits won't do this country any favors. He is firm and committed to doing the right thing regardless of how many obstacles are thrown into his path.
Excellent--a victory for math! Rachel was so excited, this was fun to watch. I have a question though. Why does Rachel refer to the president as Mr. Obama and not President Obama? Anyone know?
I was quite pleased with what he said--it is what I've been screaming at the TV for ages (ie why is it OK to tax working people if they are poor or middle class, but you can't tax rich people and corporations?). Republicans look like a bunch of sissies pandering to the rich folk. Like trying to keep on Nellie Olson's good side. Fools. You are going to die--you can have all the money in the world and it won't stop it, and you can't take it with you. Money hoarding is all it is.
I actually did print out the speech. These things needed to be said. I literally believed last week the GOP would just go all in and pretty much destroy every safety net that exists in this country for the poor.
And they still want to do that.
So my question is--where are those sign carriers with President Obama as Hitler and signs that are telling HIM to keep his hands off their medicare and social security? No?
I watched the speech yesterday, and I agreed with Rachel Maddow's assessment of it. I especially loved the way he called out the GOP for their intrangigence in insisting on tax cuts for the rich while they try to bankrupt everyone else. Their response was entirely predictable in their refusal to pull their heads out of the sand or maybe the places of their anatomies where the sun doesn't shine.
this is the speech i had been hoping for forever. repubs will try to give all the advantage to the rich....thanks to all those repub governors america is finally waking up. we, the middle class - the working class totally outnumber them in votes.
It was an amazing speech! I was so happy to hear it - finally! If any of the teabaggers actually bothered to listen to it, they would definitely be struck by his point that the GOP wants to give HIM a tax cut! haha Too bad they won't bother listening though.
Hope GOP keeps pushing the tax cuts for the super rich...

ReplyDeleteUsing "Mr. Obama" is perfectly respectable and easier to say than "President Obama," which might be a concern for an on-air report.
