Laura Novak tries to get a straight answer out of ADN editor Pat Dougherty.

From Laura's blog:

In keeping with the spirit of interviewing other journalists and experts for my blog, I contacted Patrick Dougherty, Senior Vice President and Editor of the Anchorage Daily News.

I invited him to have an email “sit down” to discuss this story that will not die. I wanted to further the story that his newspaper was working on two years ago that prompted the testy email exchange between him and Mrs. Palin about why the theories on Trig Palin’s birth would not go away. I saw this as an opportunity to explain how and why newspapers might view, and treat, information differently from bloggers.

Mr. Dougherty graciously declined my invitation. He said that the story of persistent rumors does not interest him any more than President Obama’s birth certificate conspiracy. I pressed the point that his paper was closer to the Palin story due to his earlier efforts to lay it to rest. And of course due the Anchorage Daily News’ geographical proximity and role as the paper of record for Alaska and its government.

Still, he declined my offer. Our emails have been pleasant and polite. And I accepted his answer.

Don't despair, Laura WAS able to get at least one answer out of Dougherty, and put to rest a myth that I for one thought was a cold hard fact, as well as getting some rather interesting information from Dougherty's blog page.

So go ahead and click the link at the top to read the entire post, and learn a little something new about the brief moment in history when the Anchorage Daily News actually tried to do their job.

I don't understand how anyone can't see that graphic and absolutely know that Palin faked that pregnancy. I've said it before and I'll say it again; The Gusty photo at the end will be her undoing. It does not jibe with her own narrative of "not showing because of tight abs" and not having to "hide it" because she never showed.

Keep this prominently displayed, Gryphen. It's very damaging.

After seeing 5 coworkers pregnant and two daughters there is no way Palin was pregnant. Several of the first time mothers had tight abs lol.

Gryphon, PD is LYING by omission/careful wording.

It's true what he said, that CBJ did not ever bring an attorney TO THE OFFICES OF THE NEWSPAPER.

What he's ever so careful to avoid saying, in a masterfully inept game of Covering Ass: CBJ **DID** bring her personal counsel WITH HER TO THE INTERVIEW CONDUCTED AT HER OFFICE by the ADN's Lisa Demer.

I fear Dougherty's words will obfuscate one of the most important facts in this case: CBJ refused to, on the advice of counsel, confirm that a) SHE WAS PRESENT AT THE BIRTH OF TRIG PAXSON VAN PALIN and/or b) THAT SARAH LOUISE HEATH PALIN BIRTHED THE CHILD KNOWN AS TRIG PALIN.

PLEASE Gryphen, ask Lisa herself before putting the seal of gospel truth on the words of Pat Faux-erty...possibly the only person in AK to groom Sarah's image as much as she herself does.

People need to know that beyond the exchange of emails, there was at least one very heated phone call between PD and SP, wherein he finally lost his temper with her and said "why won't you just release the [blanking] birth certificate? what is WRONG with you?!"
SP hung up on him and at that point, PD has found himself squarely between the rock (journalistic truth/integrity) and the hard place (halfway up Palin's bum).

He really, TRULY believed all this was nonsense until that call. Now he knows what everyone else knows- Sarah would have released the birth certificate long ago...if it was remotely within her power to do so.

His personal belief is that Sarah had Trig several months earlier than stated, that she did not think he would survive, and that when he DID, she became desperate to keep her incredibly poor parenting (leaving Trig to fend for himself even as he fought for life) so she "announced" her pregnancy, etc.

Personally, I do not subscribe to this theory at all and in my heart I do not believe PD does either. He just can't believe that a sitting governor would do something like fake a pregnancy. He has to think Sarah was pregnant SOMEWHERE in the timeline in order to justify his coddling of her for years. But that scenario really would require too many people in the know to keep quiet. Sarah sequestered in a corner room of MatSu with CBJ keeping guard keeps the loop much smaller than Palin actually giving birth, Trig being in a neonatal unit for months, hundreds of people possibly seeing the "Palin" name on his medical chart and not one of them EVER telling a friend, who told a friend, etc.

No, Pat knows that whatever DID transpire, it had nothing to do with Sarah Palin being pregnant or giving birth in April of 2008. Whatever he may SAY...he knows this.

    1. Palin has a serious reading comprehension problem
    2. Her letter to Doherty was all thinly veiled threats
    3. She is as grandiose as a true narcissist, bordering on sociopath, can be
    4. Her refusal to comply with documentation is tacit proof that she is not the bio mom.
    5. She is probably working her ass off to find someone who will gin up a birth certificate for her as we speak.
    6. Her house of cards is falling.

MatSu does not have the facility to competently manage a known at risk birth such as Trig's. Yet no journalist has ever investigated this angle. What doctors were on staff that night? Was a pediatric specialist attending the birth? Or on staff? How many other DS babies have been born at MatSu? Was MatSu "wrong" in admitting Palin under the circumstances, and not directing her to a hospital in Anchorage? Did they actually allow a Family Practitioner to preside over an at risk birth, such as CBJ? This is a public health matter. The ADN should do a story on this. That would certainly snuff out whether or not Palin actually gave birth there or not, and answer some questions that should be of general interest to any mother contemplaying giving birth at MatSu.

Palin is beyond full of shit. I've had three babies.
From the first to the last you could tell I was pregnant from four months on. No carefully draped scarf in the world could hide my stomach by five months. When I had my last baby (at 31, much younger than Palin), people were asking me at SEVEN months if I was almost due!

Her frontier woman tight abs bullshit is clear to anyone with a functional brain. Maybe THAT'S why Palin worshippers believe she gave birth to Trig.

Will Sarah Palin run for president?
It does not make sense that she will due to her actions concerning Trig. This is a story that is not going away.

With all this info coming out and with the consistent pursue of truth by people like Gryphen, Laura Novak, Malia Litman and others, how can Sarah Palin run for the office of president? If Sarah Palin could debunk this one story that has been a thorn in her side for years, don't you think she would of done it by now? You would think advisors would be telling Palin enough is enough, if you have proof that you gave birth to Trig just show it. Let‘s put an end to this, otherwise the momentum is building on the bloggers side and you are consistently loosing backers to this ongoing story which has legs and is not going away.

Now it is looking like it is just about getting as much money as she can get before she has to announce that she is not running.

Bravo to Laura Novak for following up on this thorny story. However, shouldn't she be asking LISA DEMER for details of her meeting with CBJ??

I noticed that Pat D's statements to Laura could be technically true; but very misleading as to what actually happened when his paper originally tried to put this bizarre story to rest.

Aside from all the photo evidence and Mrs. Todd P's OWN irresponsible account, I believe TriG is not her child because she would have her lawyer suing for libel and slander and playing the victim card.

Does anybody watch HGTV? There's a show called Sarah's House, hosted by a Canadian designer, Sarah Richardson (great show, btw). An offshoot of that show is one called Sarah's Summer House. At the beginning of the taping of this show, Sarah Richardson is SIX-MONTHS pregnant. The early episodes and opening theme of the show include video of the six-month pregnant Sarah Richardson. Second baby, VERY thin and FIT mother. However, her SIX-MONTH baby bump is VERY prominent.

Compare that to the Feb 5 video of an allegedly six-month pregnant Palin sauntering through the streets of Juneau and it is clearly obvious that Palin was not pregnant.

I don't care how many Andrea Gusty pictures there are. The fact that there are several that show a flat-stomached Palin seal the deal for me. How can a small, thin woman hide a pregnancy so effectively as to appear not pregnant? Answer: she can't. Palin is a liar and her believers are fools.

Even if the photos still don't convince people, how could they not be convinced by Sarah Palin's refusal to show a birth certificate.

Also, the fact that SP showed shock and indignation to the ADN about rumors shows a woman who has no proper judgment. No matter how the rumors start, stick, no matter why or where they begin, even if it's her perceived critics and enemies, she still had an obligation to her voters to put the story to rest by providing a birth certificate.

The fact that she sees the Trig issue as a game and plays it to win, where in her mind winning means getting everyone to unquestionnably trust her, praise her, love her, adore her where they won't demand proof is a sick game. She wants to leave the story out there unresolved, rather than just put an end to it by showing a birth certificate.

She wants the story to stay out there, so it will prove to her that her worshipful fans and bots believe anything that comes out of her crazy lips. To her, this means they must love her unconditionally. Yes, I think she could have a personality disorder and her personality needs desperately needs loyalty even in the face of doubt. She wants her fans to choose between, her (the Queen) or the obvious evidence. And when the choose her, it gives her the fix.

Hello there Gryphen. New reader, new poster here. I actually was "referred" if you will by Sarah Palin herself. She and a woman I did not recognize have lunched several times this year in the restaurant where I work. Of course one hears all types of gossip when serving what is generally considered the "upper crust"...but in this day and age of cell phone photos being sold to tabloids for 10 thousand dollars, many well known people tend to be more discreet now.

Then there are folks like Sarah Palin, whom I refer to as "the peek-a-boo set". They think just because they aren't talking TO you, that you can't HEAR them. (Palin is also a part of what I call the Shitty Tipper Collective...in Arizona where everyone judges you by the amount of money you do or do NOT throw around, Sarah Palin has tipped as low as 2 percent)
Anyway twice now I've heard her talking about someone who obviously presses her buttons...she had said the same thing practically verbatim both times, maniacally ranting why do people even listen to him, I mean who in their right mind calls themselves immoral with pride, and you know it's no wonder he turned his own kid gay, he's all the time talkin' about what a lousy husband he was, I mean this guy is deranged, do you know he has stalked me at public appearances, and he doesn't even have a job he's just a blogger......and on and on and onnnnnn.

After the second time I googled "Palin Immoral Blog" and here I am. I find it very funny that she says you are "just" a blogger, when as far as I can tell SHE is "just" a facebooker and twitter-er.

I am really enjoying reading your archives. I knew she was stupid and obnoxious but I had no idea about all of this....insanity. How is it this woman still has people thinking she is fit to lead the country?

Anon @ 5:10 got me thinking. What if Sarah is really Trigs birth mother, but due to her shockingly bad choices, she had Trig very prematurely at a different location other than Alaska? She could very easily have given birth in one of the numerous cities she traveled to in the months preceding Trigs "birth". She had not told anyone of her pregnancy, so it would be a HUGE story if Gov.Palin gave birth in NYC - or some other place- to a sickly premature baby. Her ambitions took precedence over her sick infant, and she left him in said hospital. The fundies would be horrified at her callousness. The public would doubt her common sense. Who knows, maybe that baby even died. Trig could just be the replacement baby. That scenerio could ruin her.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anonymous7:43 AM

I am going to suggest a theory under which Trig's birth would go unnoticed. One of the comments suggests that even if Trig was born early, seeing the Palin name in the nursery or at the hospital would set off all kinds of bells and whistles.

If an underage girl discovers that she is pregnant, one of the choices available to her is to carry the baby to term and give it up for adoption. In that case, her identity can be kept secret at the hospital, and she can be listed as Jane Doe. Even the nurses on the floor would not know her real name; they would just know the circumstances.

In that case, when the baby was born and placed in the nursery, he would be listed as Baby Doe, and all that the staff would know is that he was going to be given up for adoption.

Whether it was Sarah who had the baby early (without ever showing or telling her family) or whether she was covering for Bristol's teen age pregnancy, I think that the original plan was just to give the baby up for adoption. When he was born and it was discovered that he had DS, the adoption was called off. When McCain was chosen as the GOP nominee in early March, 2008, Sarah saw her chances on the short VP list rise, and the DS child would be a real asset in the right to life community.

If you think about it for a minute, doesn't it seem strange that Bristol was rewarded for having a (second) teen aged pregnancy with TV interviews, highly paid abstinence speeches, appearance on Dancing with the Stars, a five bedroom house, a book deal and a reality show. It is clear that Bristol is not capable of acting, dancing or writing a book, and she wouldn't have any of this without the help of Sarah and her publicity team. I suggest that Bristol is being paid to keep her mouth shut, and rewarded for providing Sarah's Right to Life Credentials.

By the way, where is Trig, how is his therapy going and who takes care of him?

  29. Another first for $P. While just a whiff of a possible 'paternity' case against a newsworthy male celeb or politician is quickly pounced upon by the media, the first real whiff of a 'maternity' suit proves a bridge too far?

The Palinstas most frequent complaint is that this nasty rumor is everywhere and loves to accuse the media of yellow journalism. I live in a fairly conservative area and on a lark, I randomly asked 10 people if they had heard the SP birth rumor. Only one person, a male, had heard it. Most of the others seemed 'very' interested to hear more and only one thought it to be silly. It tells me the rumor isn't as 'out there' as they complain. I referred the interested parties to IM and advised them there were additional links on the website. I hope they took me up on it.

Many will now compare this to Arnold's news but I feel it's more akin to the Ensign affair. The potential fear of catching so many notable others in a wide net appears to be a huge factor in the hands-off stance. Like many, I think this is what is keeping her from declaring a run. Those words will make her fair game for vetting and it sure feels like one game she doesn't want to suit up for this season.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Anonymous8:19 AM

I've been thinking about the ADN's response in light of revelations about Arnold's scandal.

Imagine that somebody called the LA Times at some point in the past 10 years and said, "Guess what? The governor fathered a child with his housekeeper, and this child has been living in the household unbeknownst to Maria. So all those stories everybody heard about Arnold as a womanizer were true."

Now imagine that the paper's editor thought this was ludicrous because who would attempt something so bold? The number of people necessary to keep this secret rules it out right there. So he dismissed it as a crackpot rumor. After repeatedly hearing these rumors, he finally decided to lay this persistent "bizarro conspiracy theory" to rest by writing a story about the rumor and contacted Arnold with the explicit intention of debunking it and therefore helping Arnold out.

The editor suggested that Arnold give the paper proof that the child, known to live in the house, is not his. Story over. But Arnold got huffy and said that is the stupidest rumor ever and how dare you and then refused to respond anymore.

So the LA Times editor shrugged and said, "Oh, OK. Well, never mind. Nothing to see here, I guess."

And then for years, despite a growing body of evidence that Arnold did father this child, the editor not only ignored the story, but actively refused to pursue it.

That's how I see this episode with Palin. Since when do decent reporters conclude that because an elected official/public figure refuses to cooperate in clearing up a big problem for her, they should drop the story?

I remember when the ADN won Pulitzers and went after stories like journalists. Now the paper is so diminished it can barely carry enough staff to rewrite press releases. Very sad.

A good friend of mine (who it took about a year, but whom I finally convinced the pregnancy story was true) has a theory that Thomas Muthee actually did succeed in placing some kind of voodoo spell on her protecting her from harm. Sarah Palin is the type of person who has to be in the news all the time. Why would she hide her pregnancy and not have pictures in multiple magazines or newspapers in Alaska at the different stages of her pregnancy? Why hide her square stomach with scarves? A pregnant woman is a glowing beautiful sight to see, it is like magic, just plain beautiful. I have always known pregnant women to allow people to pat their bellies especially when the baby is kicking or moving, how come nobody has surfaced that they felt Sarah's stomach or felt Trig kick? Pregnant women will also comment in public or at work that their baby just moved and would be excited about it, how come we have not heard any stories of people experiencing Sarah's joyful moments?

  49. In response to the comment at 7:43 ... I attended the book signing event at the South Anchorage Costco. After arranging for autographs from both Palins, I walked by Chuck Heath as I left the "whiner's circle". Heath said to me, "aren't you gonna say hello to her dad?"

So I took it as an opportunity to ask Heath some questions. I asked about the picture of the Heath parents holding a baby, that was not a newborn or jaundiced, on the alleged day of Trig's birth at the MatSu hospital. Chuck Heath told me he could not remember any such picture. I pressed him on this, but he said he did not remember the photo.

Then I said that I do not believe Sarah birthed Trig. Heath responded, "I was there when he popped out" and then made facial and hand gestures that conveyed to me that he was embarrassed by what he saw in the delivery room.

The Palin handlers looked stressed while they observed my conversation with Heath. But they did not intervene, because "everybody" knew I did not initiate the conversation.

And I believe we are learning over time just how dysfunctional and pathological the Palin/Heath clan is.

The photographic evidence says Palin wasn't 6+ months pregnant in March-April, 2008, but I have yet to see compelling photographic evidence that she was not, say, 5-6 months pregnant in Jan/early Feb. There are rumors that she had her tubes tied after Piper was born -- clearly that would shoot down the theory once and for all. But so far the rumors remain just that: rumors. My money is still on Bristol as Trig's mother, or perhaps Todd as the father with some unknown mother.
But one of the reasons the other theory holds some water (so to speak!) for me is that it would answer the question, why hasn't Palin played the obvious tearful confession card: "Yes, I faked the pregnancy, because I was a good mother trying to protect my daughter from the shame of having dark secrets made public. But the evil media just kept hounding me..." That confession doesn't work if Palin's secrets/culpability are more obviously damning than an act of professed "motherly love."

Wow, what a great welcome!! Thanks all.

I have now spent exactly..ummm ALL of my day off reading Gryphen's archives, I loaded this blog into my news reader and kept falling more and more down the rabbit hole. How is this not MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR news? Osama bin Laden KILLED, Active state governor fakes pregnancy. Am I wrong here??

For the person who asked me to describe the person Sarah Palin was with, well she was very nice compared to Sarah, she actually looked me in the eye and did not BARK at ME because SHE ordered a salad nicôise and was pissed it ended up being something she didn't like or even know what it was and then demanded I ask our michelin starred chef to make CHICKEN FINGERS..like someone else I could name. Anyway she had blond hair, kind of pink/ruddy complexion and was wearing a super expensive but VERY ill fitting (???) suit and louboutin heels which I know for a fact cost as much as my monthly salary.
The most interesting thing about Sarah Palin's lunch date is that she seemed very focused on redirecting Sarah when she would go off on these angry tangents.

She also had bangs, and her handbag was a dooney from the 2009 season I think, bright yellow patent. (I was a fashion major and I notice these things I guess)

The only other thing I think would be of interest to you all, on the second time I saw them, the companion was gently chiding Sarah, saying "hon you can't get mad at a little boy for calling you grandma when you are his grandma! Teach him "LuLu" when he's older!"
Which I took to mean, Sarah didn't want Bristal's little one to call her Grandma so instead she was trying to get him to call her LuLu. But now of course I'm wondering just who exactly they were talking about.

Unfortunately I think that pretty much empties my gossip quiver. But maybe they'll come back. You can be sure I will be paying verrry close attention if they do.

Thanks again for the warm welcome. I already love everyone here!

PS, in attempt to distinguish myself from the many other anonymous' posting, I will be using the name WendyWaitress=)

The editor of the Alaska Daily News sends a reporter out to find snow in July. Not finding any, she informs the editor that the story wasn't worth pursuing because, apparently, it never snows in Alaska.

Peering out his window and seeing not a single snow crystal anywhere, the editor concurs and drops the story.

If the editor of the Alaska Daily News wants to know if his treatment of the phony pregnancy makes him look like an incompetent fool, the answer is yes, it does indeed.

There was a time in America when courageous reporters fought to uncover the facts and bring them to the attention of the American people; letting the chips fall where they may. These days reporters are just reposters, grammatical errors and all.

I fear an uninformed public as much as I fear the nastiness that is Sarah Palin.

Hmmmm, Barbara @11:41...perhaps that picture was of Sally and Chuck holding a different grand baby, born in a different year altogether, or with a completely unrelated baby. Verrrry interesting indeed. We have been remarking for over two yearsnhow that baby does not look anything like the one held in Mercedes' infamous Triggy Bear photos, or the one in the baby shower photos....also does not look like a 6 pound preemie. Now it all makes sense.

Sarah, if you're reading and refreshing comments....let me remind you....John Edwards, John Ensign, Mark Sanford, Eliot Spitzer, Eric Massa, shirtless Cong from NY whose name escapes me right now, and Arnold Schwarzenegger ,all got outed. Today I was in the public library of the next county over. My county is mostly urban, liberal, has few Sarah-sycophantic books in its library system. The next county is predominantly rural and conservative - and I didn't know there were that many pro-Sarah books until I saw them all on the shelf. She has her audience, you betcha.

  66. Anonymous at 1:33: the recount of an interview with CBJ in which she has a lawyer present began long before Patrick started his blog or was a part of Palingates: in fact it was first reported on Palin's Deceptions, one of the first blogs devoted to Sarah Palin and specifically to the story of Trig as Audrey was fascinated when she read the account of the "wild ride" that it could even be possible. So please do not attempt to discredit someone for recounting that as most of us who have been on these blogs for over two years can tell you, it was one of the first details of the story that we heard; how the ADN, specifically Lisa Demer at the time tried to get the truth of the story and interviewed CBJ but she lawyered up and basically told nothing.

  67. WendyWaitress3:07 PM

Oh crap you are right. Maybe I should not have mentioned the salad.

Maybe I'm being naive but I am not worried. She was so dismissive she practically looked THROUGH me. Seriously.

We have a normally "tungsten steel clad" (as my boss says) rule that nobody ever discusses a "celeb" guest, ever ever ever. But my shift manager said "feel free to tell all and sundrie what a BITCH she is, maybe it'll get back to her and she can punish us by keeping on her high horse and riding the hell on past us next time".

Usually our celeb customers are so gracious and discreet AND they tip enough to buy more than a stick of gum...

I've been waitressing (we call it "serving") for almost 4 years, ever since I finished my apparently worthless degree. And only once have I ever run into someone well known who was rude like her. And keep in mind we're right in the middle of the "spa" district ("spa"'=rehab or plastic surgery recovery a lot of times) and we get our share of well known guests. But nobody has ever made the staff collectively raise our eyebrows like "are we being punked?" as she did.

To the person who worried Wendy might be my real name, no....I just wanted to think of something that sounded good with "waitress", LOL

I have been reading about this baby thing literally all day. I really have to give credit to a lot of the posters here, reading the comments on these posts is seriously better than a thriller novel! People here are so smart and clever with the observations and insights.

One thing I personally noticed right off the bat, Sarah Palin talked about breast-feeding her baby a lot in the beginning. Seems like I have read 3 or 4 articles just today where she mentions something about a breast pump. But then the photos of her at work just 3 DAYS after the birth?? My sister had a baby in January and on the 2nd or 3rd day after, her breasts swelled up as big as her head and she was in so much pain she cried when it was time to feed my nephew. It took a couple weeks for the swelling to go down. My sister could not have gotten in a size 2 fitted suit (her pre pregnancy work clothes) that soon after birth, if you had offered her a million dollars. And her MD said when she swelled up like that, it was totally normal and happens to most women in the first post pardum week.

When I see those photos of Sarah Palin in a fitted suit, 72 hours after giving birth (supposedly) and then I think of my sister who had her first baby, was only 29, and teaches pilates classes (you wanna see tight abs???).....well let's just say the picture of Sarah Palin in her tailored suit with perfect makeup and no hair out of place and the picture of my sister with her bed-head, broken cappilaries, and happy but exhausted eyes.....well it sure does not look like they went through the same experience.

Now that I have spent my whole day delving in to this insane story, I have to go do actual stuff like dinner and laundry. But please know all of your comments in all these great posts have just been so fun and interesting to read=)

  69. Account/myth of CBJ "lawyering up" to talk with Anchorage Daily News reporter Lisa Demer - can someone find the FIRST time this appears in the blogosphere?

"CBJ didn't bring her lawyer to our office; CBJ didn't threaten to sue us" - these recent denials by Patrick Dougherty, by themselves, do not rule out a meeting on CBJ's turf with a lawyer present. However, if this happened, who can testify to it from firsthand knowledge? One of the parties to the meeting, or someone in a position to see all concerned enter or leave a room. Is there such a person, and will he/she go on record when the principals won't?

Nevertheless, however true or false this particular detail is, the elephant in the living room is still there - the ONLY reason to think that Sarah gave birth to Trig is because she and her family say so. A hospital, a doctor, a birth certificate - none of THESE say so. Why not? ADN's pretense that this absence of evidence is a non-story makes it clear that they cannot be relied upon.

Also, not to call further bullshit on the Arizona waitress, in addition to there being no Michelin starred chefs cooking in Arizona, I would be highly shocked if a restaurant helmed by a Michelin starred chef had chicken fingers on the menu.

  73. Michelin starred chef sounds weird, but a lot of times if a chef used to work at a Michelin-starred restaurant, s/he keeps it as part of the resume and the current employer uses it as an unofficial snob point. Michelin does not review all of its restaurants annually, either, so the guide isn't as current as you might think. Chicken fingers are quite common in upscale restaurants as kiddie fare for picky eaters.

  74. Anonymous5:18 PM

Yep, the more I think of it, Wendy the Waitress is Palin or one of her pals. I have no doubt that they are obsessed with Gryphen, so they thought they would have some fun and make some stuff up and laugh when all the "liberuls" fells for it.

Besides the stupidity of locating a Michelin-starred chef in Arizona, the little details about Louboutin shoes (what did Wendy the Waitress crawl under the table and inspect the red soles?) and Dooney and Burke purse sound ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Anonymous5:21 PM

Re Original Lee, if you used to work in a Michelin starred restaurant (like as a sous chef or bus boy or whatever) that doesn't make you a Michelin starred chef.

OMG, don't any of you Michelin commenters ever use google? Try it. Let me help you by framing a query: Michelin level chefs in Phoenix or Scottsdale.

Have you ever been to Scottsdale? Do you have any idea how much money flows through Scottsdale? Again, google is easy.

Large amounts of disposable income, preferred resort/retreat locale by many, location of second homes by some of the old Hollywood actors, luxurious hotels, incredible golf courses --- all of this and more can be found in Scottsdale. Sounds like a place with fine dining and fabulous chefs to me. Gee, isn't that where Sarah spent time? With her bff Kristan Cole.

I've been following this story since the beginning and I do not believe that palin was ever pregnant with trig. There is something that is very compeling to me that was mentioned by someone here. Palin is a vain, victim card playing person. The only reason that she would hide her pregnancy unti 7 months is ...why? Because her hot governor status would be wrecked? Why would you hide that? Think of all the attention you would get as a working mom who is the governor of a state and by the way is also pregnent. That part doesn't match any part of her personality. She craves attention all the time.

There is nothing in this WW's writing to suggest someone is having fun with us. The story is pretty mild, we are not up in arms about it, and there is really no reason to doubt it. Hard to see a motive if it's not true, except to flatter Gryphen that she was talking about him!

I agree with the comment about it being bs that the flight attendants did not notice a pregnancy. They absolutely look to see if passengers has their seat belts on. If they can't see your belt buckled they will ask you while looking to verify that you have it on.

  83. WendyWaitress11:17 PM

Huh. I guess I said my warm welcome bit a little too early.

Maybe you guys have been burned by people who have (or have not) interacted with Sarah Palin? I dint know. But it feels pretty shitty to have someone "call bullshit" on you because you misspelled nicôise. Unlike Ms. Palin, at least I know how to SAY it. (she said "nik-swah"; it's nee-swah)

As for there not being any Michelin chefs in Arizona...are you joking??? Are YOU Sarah Palin or one of her cronies? We have some of the best eateries in the country here. We have numerous restaurants on the grounds of posh hotels as well as high class dining in the shopping and spa districts.

What really IS bullshit...is that instead of dogging me and making me wish I had NEVER commented..you could have spent two minutes on google and gotten it right. Or even just READ my post- I did not say chicken fingers were on the menu- I said that is what she ASKED for when she disliked what she had ordered off the menu.

My observations may not be earth shattering, I may not ever hear anything truly juicy or revealing but if you jump everyone who comes here with ANY detail or personal account, it's a safe bet the people who DO have the really good dirt will NEVER speak up.

I don't know if I am even going to read the comments again much less write my own. If you want to doubt me that's your business, but you should at least have a better reason than "she didn't spell nicôise right"...I notice the person who pointed that out didn't spell it either. It's a hard word to spell and I can never remember where the accents go. The thing is, I'm pretty sure that only makes me HUMAN....not a liar.

To the person who suggested I have Gryphen verify my "credentials"...are YOU joking, too?? You want me to send my personal information to an out of state blogger I came across 12 hours ago? You can't be serious. I don't have "credentials". I'm a waitress who thought some people might find my personal dealing with a public figure mildly interesting. Nothing I could say about what Sarah Palin ate or didn't eat or what she was wearing is going to have even a shred of impact on her politics, who likes her, who doesn't like her...the end.

Thanks to the people who WERE nice. It felt great to be welcomed for those few HOURS before people started pissing on my parade. Being that my feelings are hurt and I don't feel I was given a fair shake by people who discredited me based upon their made up knowledge regarding the caliber of chefs we have in Arizona...if Sarah Palin "graces" us with her presence again I will probably be keeping it to myself.

Bye, folks. I am not the type who can just let being basically called a liar slide off my back and not bother me. It DOES bother me, so my choice will be to avoid it by not reading the comments here.

Next time someone speaks up, I urge you not to write them off until you have a legitimate reason for doing so. Maybe someone came here once and tested the waters by revealing a little of what they know. And maybe someone "called bullshit" on them. And maybe they decided, well...this is just not worth the hassle. And MAYBE...they would have had a lot more to say, if they hadn't been jumped on and ridiculed right away=(

It is my usual policy to allow an open exchange of ideas and opinions in the comments section. Usually a troll who attacks a commenter is taken down by somebody else rather quickly. I did see that happen yesterday, but then I also noticed a dramatic increase in the attacks leveled against you.

You are new to this type of give and take, but when THAT happens it is usually an indication that your remarks were potentially damaging to Sarah Palin, and her minions have been dispatched to discredit you.

The LAST thing they want to believe is that their Queen is so thin skinned and easily rattled that she sits around bitching about me. That would give me a sense of power that they are desperate that I not have.

Please stick around as I'm sure the majority believe you. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the posts that were doubting your veracity came directly from some of Sarah's Palinbots. They love to stir up whatever shit they can but are always caught when doing so.

As a female and self-described shoe nut, I'd remember things like a pair of Louboutin shoes and a bright yellow D&B handbag. The shoes are easily noticeable if a woman is sitting with her legs crossed as the bottoms are bright red (just some info for the doubters on here). They also sell at only high end stores, many of which can be found in Scottsdale. I'm surprised that so many doubted the idea of upscale dining in the area, obviously, they are not well read or well-informed.

Keep commenting, it only serves to drive the 'bots crazier!

Thanks for all the great info. I'm not surprised to hear about Palin's being a lousy tipper. So much for her being one of the little people or even giving a damn about anyone but herself.
