Keith Olbermann reveals the tactics that Rupert Murdoch uses to keep his employees in line.
My favorite part comes toward the end.
"And when the tide recedes there will be nothing left. Not of News Corp, not of Fox News, not of Rupert Murdoch."
See? Even Keith Olbermann believes that it is possible THIS will be the end of Murdoch.
Maybe this is like in a "Peter Pan" play.
If all of us believe and clap hard enough, instead of bringing Tinkerbell back to life, we can wish for the demise of Fox News. And it will happen.
Worth a shot.

They are going downnnnn. They are being found out of what they are: cheating, lying, racist, divisive, nasty, silly (balloon boy) and irrelevant.
ReplyDeleteThe United State will be a better place with out faux news
what was that Bristol said about Keith being irrelevant...LMAO!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this Gryphen. I had not seen that and you can be sure, if this happened to one, it happened to many. I still don't pity the Fox criminals though.
ReplyDeleteA Dead Deal and Growing Calls For a US Investigation Into Rupert Murdoch
ReplyDeleteFacing all-party political pressure, Murdoch’s takeover of BSkyB is dead. The House of Commons has voted unanimously against Rupert Murdoch and even PM David Cameron called on the “disgraceful” News International to drop Sky Broadcasting deal. Murdoch has withdrawn his bid. Rupert, his son James, and Rebekah Brooks, NOTW former Editor and now CEO of News International, face the culture committee tomorrow.
Recent allegations are making it far clearer that the top players can be held accountable for what was previously dismissed as a few bad apples. For example, allegations surfaced last week that as early as 2002, Scotland Yard met Rebekah Brooks and warned her about criminals acting on her behalf. A junior editor who was implicated was promoted instead of fired. “…editor of the News of the World Rebekah Brooks was confronted with evidence that her paper’s resources had been used on behalf of two murder suspects to spy on the senior detective who was investigating their alleged crime.”
Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown gave a rousing speech at the Commons debate Wednesday. Brown accused the conservatives (Tories) of letting News International dictate their media policy. “The press should be our greatest defense against the abuse of power. But it had instead become our greatest abuser of power.”
Gordon Brown’s speech during the Commons debate Wednesday:

Murdoch is too wealthy and, as Olbermann pointed out, uses black mail as easily as rolling over in bed, he personally will come out tarnished but unbloodied and can start all over again through Junior.
ReplyDeleteAll Murdoch has to do now is sell the assets and the physical plant of the closed paper to one of his own subsidiaries and start the whole process over again with a scam that has not yet been detected and run it till somebody notices, and he can do this into infinity.
ReplyDeleteWhat Olberman is describing are typical workplace bullying tactics, especially when there are health problems which are caused by the workplace bullying. They know how to cause enough stress to make people ill, then they use the illness to torture them. Usually this is when the human resources dept. gets involved to help twist the knife in the employee's back. When the person gets enough stress they can also become chemically dependent by trying to find a way to deal with the stress. In this current job market people are trapped so there is probably much more addiction. This supports my argument that there are a lot of psychopathic workplace bullies at the top of corporations and any of the so called workplace bullying experts who make their living off workplace bullying contracts, so want to make these psychopaths seem like the victims can bite me.
ReplyDeleteo/t and good job on the issues you have been highlighting...but where the hell is sarah? must be some trial she is the lead juror on, very hush hush.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I have a theory and I am surprised I have not seen it explored here or anywhere else....sarah's "bus tour! trip to Sudan! and see Thatcher! Movie starring ME!" outburst was replaced by one day trip to Pella, IA. and one ghost written facebook post and...absolutely nothing else
cancelled two trips, cancelled the bus tour, hasn't been on FOX in ages...
I am no doctor but to me this is classic BIPOLAR behavior. She gets herself UP for the big show, but she simply can't stick with it. She resigned out of the blue, because she was having a bad down episode. Then she mopes for weeks or months, then she is everywhere, frantic, manic, all energy and words and smiles and boobs... And then she disappears again. She is, literally, mentally impaired.
You're welcome.
I hope their propaganda radio stations go too.
ReplyDeleteGoL
Murdock is over 80 years old. Too old to start over himself unless his children take over for him.
ReplyDeleteHowever,we are aware now of the Murdoch name shenanigans and hopefully will be prepared for the future.
If you only read Fox News online front page you would have ZERO indication any of this was happening...because it's no where to be found!
ReplyDeleteWhat's their slogan again????
Oh yeah, FAIR AND BALANCED REPORTING
Really?
news is out-palin will be on hannity!!!!
ReplyDeleteNews Corp is all the GOP have to spread their evil propaganda, They will save Mr. Murdoch.
ReplyDeleteTheir political lives depend on it. they have the votes in congress, Sad but True.
palin is going to be on hannity tonight, brace oneself for the shit to fly!
ReplyDeleteOh gee, Gryph, I hat rooting for the negative. But I'll clap 'til my hands fall off to resurrect REAL journalism.
ReplyDeleteBecause of the blazing speed with which Murdoch is caving by closing NOTW and dropping his bid for outright ownership of BSkyB, I suspect that he is deathly afraid that the scandal has gotten too big for him to control and that some of his deep dark secrets will be revealed.
ReplyDeleteMurdoch has made his living being a bully, a blackmailer, and a braggart. For him to so uncharacteristically cave means he is afraid of going to jail.
I predict that either Rupert or his son will do jail time in Britain - I guess I should say gaol time. I further predict that Murdoch's empire in the U.S. is moribund and will either be closed by Murdoch as a preemptive measure, closed because of criminal proceedings, or closed because Murdoch is going to be bled dry by the inevitable torrent of lawsuits headed his way. No matter the how, Murdoch's grip is beginning to fail in Britain and it will do the same here. Does anybody doubt that any serious investigation of Murdoch here won't turn up equally outrageous criminal acts?
I will pop a bottle of bubbly when that fetid and festering bastard gets a taste of justice. He is quite possibly one of the most loathsome miscreants in our nation's history.
I am reminded of a quote by former British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli:
"He has committed every crime that does not require courage."
That cowardly little prick is beginning to realize just how despised he actually is.
Nothing would make me happier than watching the demise of faux & SP...
ReplyDeleteRupert Murdoch’s biographer [“The Man Who Owns the News”], Michael Wolff, says that Murdoch is essentially now "out of business in the UK" and refers to this unfolding drama as “Murdochalypse.” Wolff says that shareholders will never allow Rupert’s heir-apparent son James, to take over control of the company. Wolff goes on to discuss the Senate, FCC and SEC probes taking place on this side of the Atlantic.

Keith calls them as he sees them, The damage is beyond the "spin city" stage. They obstructed the investiagion of an innocent crime victim, hacked the troops phones, and even stooped to a level I never thought possible, hacking the phones of terroist victims.
ReplyDeleteFox news being hush hush about it is very telling, one would think at least ONE would be honest enough to resign in protest or at least, for once, report truth and news.
Come on Sarah and GVS, call my bluff.
This is off topic, but Gryph, will we EVER hear anything from Mercede or Shailey again? They've both promised to "spill" then vanished.
ReplyDeleteGryphen & Everyone:
ReplyDeleteFYI - Make sure to catch the opening segment of The Daily Show tonight. It's Brilliant!!
It's about Bachmann & her husband. It's absolutely brilliant!!!
Guaranteed - Gryphen will post this when video available!!

OT.
ReplyDeleteSHE'S BACK! The dumbass returns with the following word salad on Fox News..."We cannot default, but we cannot afford to retreat right now either," the former Alaska governor said. "Now is not time to retreat, it's time to reload."
She continued, "We reload with reality by giving facts and numbers to the American public so that those of us across the United States can start chiming in and letting our representatives know that we will not capitulate."
Keith, you are beloved. Please rethink your tie. Something a bit more edgy, please.

If you go the top post for today, you will see what Sadie has been up to.
As for Shailey, well she just sent me a text today and, if all goes well, we should be hearing much more from her soon.
As his strangle hold on the public continues to diminish, more and more of his employees will come forward. It will be a long and painful death for News Corp. The sad thing is that none of the Hollywood elites in this country will say a word due to their closeness to Rupert. As example, Nicole Kidman is godmother to Rupert's daughters.

Thanks so much for responding, Gryph. I was beginning to wonder if they were all right.
I get to go hear Geoffrey Dunn tonight. I'm so excited! :)
