Courtesy of ABC News:
Despite SarahPAC’s reputation for secrecy and discretion, ABC News has learned that two Sarah Palin staffers have signed on with a speaking agency. At this point, it’s unclear whether the aides have signed on to dish about their boss, who’ve they’ve had an on again/off again relationship with or if Palin even knows about their foray into the world of paid speeches.
Palin staffers Jason Recher and Doug McMarlin have signed on with the speaking agency, The American Program Bureau. According to the agency's website, they are available to be paid to speak on topics that include “From 9/11 to Katrina: Lessons for Leaders in the Face of Crisis” and “Designer Politics: A New Age of Political Power.”
Recher was one of Palin’s longest serving and trusted aides; he initially met her on the vice-presidential campaign in 2008 and became one of SarahPAC’s first staffers. He also worked on her “Going Rogue” book tour and a number of political and speaking events before parting ways around the midterm elections last year.
After the campaign, Recher and McMarlin founded NorthStar Strategies, which ran SarahPAC’s logistical operations as well as assisting with strategy and some limited press communications. Although Recher did do some political advising for her during the 2008 campaign and was her closest advisor when SarahPAC launched, by the time they left the organization both McMarlin and Recher’s roles had shifted and they were both relegated to strictly doing advance work.
Recher and McMarlin did re-join the SarahPAC organization when Palin launched her bus tour last May, but it’s not clear if the two were on board for only that one trip or if they will advance other legs of the tour if she does re-launch it. NorthStar Strategies was listed on Palin’s last FEC report released earlier this month, showing payments for logistical consulting in January and February and logistical trip consulting in May as well as reimbursements.
You know the return of Recher and McMartin to SarahPAC was cited as proof that Palin was serious about running, because, it was argued, why else would she need political staffers?
I assume the same logic could now be used to address this new turn of events. If Palin were indeed about to launch a national campaign for President, how in the world would these two possibly have time to give speeches?
By the way I cannot imagine now many people would be interested in paying Jason Recher to speak about "Designer Politics" after the Sarah Palin bus tour fiasco. I would think he would expunge that from his resume just as fast as humanly possible.
Now if he is willing to dish on what was happening behind the scenes at SarahPAC, and with Palin and her Wasilla-billy family, THAT might be worth paying to hear!
Hi Sarah, Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteQuick question, Where's Trig's birth certificate?
grifting is profitable
ReplyDeleteAs with all things Paylin, it just gets curioser and curioser.
ReplyDeleteWonder how the 'bots will spin this?
As before, Sarah Palin remains over.
ReplyDeleteThey signed with the agency May 18. The buswreck didn't start until May 29th.
ReplyDeleteAs the ABC article mentions - wonder if Palin was aware they had signed. To read what was written, they did logistics for the buswreck -- whoppee. Doesn't account for much.
It does reveal how Palin underutilizes people!! She still has to retain the 'control'.
I refer to that in her case as 'Stunned & Stupid'
Don't worry—this is another one of those good Palin ideas like the family vacation tour, the docustupidity, and the non-reality series. Sarah is sending them out to say wonderful things about her and show loving family photos of the Palins at Applebees and Friendlys to all the real Americans who will dole out bucks to listen to them yammer about working for a sock puppet.
ReplyDeleteSnort.
Aye, matey! If ye not be a scurvy lily-livered coward, thar be a great grand booty for the takin'! Gentlemen o' fortune, reveal the dastardly goings-on with that scallywag Palin and git yer just rewards at long last. Arrrrr!
ReplyDeleteOT (sorry)
ReplyDeleteCheck out the homepage of UK Daily Mail (dailymail.co.uk) now (it's 7:10 pm Alaska time). Their lead story is "Parents' alarm over teenage suicides linked to anti-gay bullying in Michele Bachmann's Minnesota backyard."
Worthy of a screen grab, I would say.
I hope the ship is sinking and Sarah and the Tea Party get all the bad they deserve. They are trying to destroy this country.
ReplyDeleteAnd oh yeah Gryphen, that photo is definitely of a drag queen I danced with last week.

ReplyDeleteToronto International Film Festival unveiled a selection of films in the 2011 Galas and Special Presentations programmes today. From the list, Broomfield's film on Palin isn't listed - the film clip that showed a clip of John Bitney and Lydia Green speaking.
Maybe they have more films to announce at a later date. Might be they don't want to announce a Palin film knowing the 'threats' that would be received.

Waaay old news. Just nobody cared. Why they do now, all of a sudden, now that's interesting.
ReplyDeleteI saw Palin on FBN. She said if she didn't run , she wants to help the 2012 candidates if she doesn't run.. She might have an impact on statewide elections in TP areas, but people like her less now than they did in 2008. I bet there will be candidates running away from her--even Rick Perry. She will be just as toxic in 2012, maybe more so, than she was in 2008.
ReplyDeleteI also saw her on Greta. She was wild/furious. c4pee has a clip up. She does something weird with
her mouth at 2;36 or 2:56(can't remember but can't stomach another look.) It looked like she couldn't control her mouth.
Hi Sarah, Welcome back! Quick question, where's Trig's birth certificate--
ReplyDeleteLove it, keep it up.
obviously they left to make some money.
ReplyDeleteand the only way to do that is to trash her because the wingnuts wont support anyone that leaves palin even if to say good things.(how did that movie go over?)
and if things were so good why would they be leaving?
palin may be having a breakdown right about now..my guess is she is having hugh troubles keeping herself together even with heavy duty medications...just keep watching for the signs..........
Maybe they will go public and campaign for $arah. Remember when she ran for governor? Rarely did she show up anywhere without her "aides" to answer questions for her. Remember, she will run a "rogue" campaign. This would be right in line with that "new thinkin" on her part. Except, she doesn't do the thinking. Remember when Chuckie said she isn't in charge? I believe this is in response to how her poorly her movie and "vacation to educate us" were received. Her handlers are freaking out as her poll numbers sink.
ReplyDeleteRick Perry was in San Angelo today, Palin's uncle who lives here made the following comment to the local newspaper.
ReplyDeleteSAN ANGELO, Texas — Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin asked her uncle Mike Sheeran to deliver a message to Gov. Rick Perry at a Republican Party fundraiser at Bentwood Country Club on Tuesday: That he should declare his entrance into the 2012 presidential race here.
"Sarah wanted me to tell him that, if he were to declare, he should declare here at Bentwood," said Sheeran, who has lived in San Angelo for about 12 years.
Sheeran said he would be a big supporter of a Perry-Palin presidential ticket. Palin, who was a vice presidential candidate in 2008, is also eyeing the White House, but, like Perry, hasn't officially entered the race.
"I think together, what a ticket that would be," Sheeran said.
What a load of crap huh.

nothing more to say except, Sarah where are your prenatal medical records? A BC that can be easily faked isn't good enough for some of us "rill" americans.

Interesting juxtaposition to see Cindy McCain on Greta right after Palin. She was there to promote a project that is seeking an end to violence against women in Africa.
ReplyDeleteInteresting because following the hate-spewed talk of Palin's, Cindy came across as sincere and even credited that commie Ben Affleck with initiating the project of which she spoke.
Now, if she'd only dump her bitter and angry old man.
I used to be amused by what C4P folks said and did. No more. They are just too dumb to listen to. And these two bozos....I'm sure they'll draw huge crowds. NOT.

ReplyDeleteI saw Palin on FBN. She said if she didn't run , she wants to help the 2012 candidates if she doesn't run..
------------
I don't think there will be the 'begging' for her endorsement this time round.
It's also the fact she was charging for her appearance plus expenses. She thinks she's the cat's ass but truly is the 'Jackass'
I went to C4P to watch the video. Since the time that Greta bizarrely described the then-VP candidate Palin as "really smart," I don't trust her anymore.
ReplyDeleteSP looks very tired and old, and even several of the bots noted that she didn't answer GVS's questions and that Greta cut her off quickly at the end. Guess even for Greta the thrill is gone.
Why are Palin's people jumping ship?
ReplyDeleteThe writing is on the theatre seats... seats are empty.
Nope - the wicked witch ain't gonna run. $P is going to be the GOP cheerleader from the sidelines.
ReplyDeleteFor anyone who happens to have an overwhelming desire to contribute to the Republicans.... I strongly suggest donating via $arahPac where about five cents of every dollar actually makes it to a GOP candidate.
If Sarah does not run for POTUS she gets to keep her SarahPac money.... what's left of it because her retards will stop donating to it.
ReplyDeletePalin is probably trying to make a deal to be VP for somebody. Palin hates working and is too dumb to be on the top of the ticket.
ReplyDeleteToo bad those two signed Sarah's Confidentiality Agreement or they would be rich people if they spilled the beans on that looser.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Sarah is close to having a stroke?
ReplyDeleteSarah's Wasilla neighbor's book is about to be released.
Levi's book is coming soon.
There is a movie about Sarah coming out.
Sarah is worried about keeping Willow from getting pregnant.
Sarah's Me Me Me movie is a flop.
Sarah's family is fucked up.
DRUM ROLL PALEASSSEEE.... Sarah's 15 second are up!
What do WE think? WE think WE don't give one tinker's DAMN. She is OVER.
ReplyDeleteMay their speeches bring in what "The Undefeated" did. NOTHING.
Sarah Palin quit her governor job.
ReplyDeleteSarah Palin quit her Palin Family Vacation - SarahPac bus tour.
Sarah Palin quit being a mother.
Sarah Palin quit her Margaret Thatcher photo op.
Sarah Palin quit her Sudan photo op.
So now Sarah Palin is about to quit her fake POTUS RUN SCAM.
You go girl! I mean it, go back to Wasilla and stay out of the lower 48.
Did Sarah's speaking gigs dry up like her face?
ReplyDeleteI see that other posters have picked up on the idea of a Perry Palin ticket, under the Tea Party or Rogue Party or whatever. I think the uncle was delegated to spring the idea and see how it floats. I think it is something to watch for. SHE who must not be named would do anything to remain in the spotlight.
ReplyDeleteWhat a telling picture of $P ! Revenge written all over her face. But the hair! It must weigh quite a bit. No wonder she can't hold up her head....It might also be responsible for head aches and hence, the sour puss.
ReplyDeleteI think the guys are much more likely to dish and throw her under the bus than the gals are. I think once the panty sniffing spell is over, it's over in a big, under the bus way. Sarah is overdue for some big, honkin' karmageddon tire marks.
ReplyDeletein reference to the frauds/greta spiel;
ReplyDeleteif $he wasn't such a coward
i'd love to see that lying dingbat bitch go toe to toe with obama in a public debate.
without even breaking a sweat he'd eviscerate the $kank particularly if he turned her bullshit claims about spending around on her, especially during her "tenure" as "mayor" of wasilla let alone quitting mid-term during her do nothing but cost the state of AK a ton-0-money "governorship"....
when in reality though he could probably not give a rats ass what the grifter/fraud spews..
what a piece of shit the $kank fraud of wasilla is, i can't wait for her mouth breathin' knuckle draggers to turn on her...
Sarah who?
ReplyDeleteJoe has a word for us...be sure to read the whole piece.
ReplyDelete1: AND THE WINNER IS: Sarah Palin’s eight-minute stint with Greta Van Susteren on Fox tonight.
I’m sorry, I can’t even comment on this.
My job is writing books.
I’ve written THE ROGUE.
I’ll be talking about it, and about Sarah, from late September through October. I think THE ROGUE says important things about Sarah, about religious extremists (especially Christian Dominionists), about how it’s possible to create a political identity out of a total lie, about mainstream media in America today, about racism (especially Sarah’s special brand), about the difference between image and reality (a question that has interested me since THE SELLING OF THE PRESIDENT 1968,) about what loving and raising–as opposed to using–children really means, about her whole story of her pregnancy with Trig and his birth, about hate and divisiveness and the shadows of violence that hang over our land.
I also say that Rev. Howard Bess, Walt Monegan, Gary Wheeler, and John Stein are among the coolest guys I’ve ever met, so it’s not all negative.
But right now I just can’t stand the sight of Sarah’s face or the sound of her voice. I’ve seen one and heard the other too much over the past three years.
And everything she said during those eight minutes with Van Susteren tonight indicates that she will, in fact, announce her intention to run for president. Why call President Obama a “fear-monger” who is “scaring the American people” with his “bizarre…immoral…unethical” pronouncements unless you wanted to reclaim the attention that MIchelle Bachmann has stolen from you?
Sarah will run because Michelle is running.
It’s a junior high thing, played out on a national stage to the detriment of our nation.
Not to mention that God still has Sarah on hold. I imagine that for her it’s like it was for me today calling Comcast because our phone was out of order (“due to a higher than expected number of calls, our customer service representatives are busy helping other clients: please stay on the line and your call will be answered in the order it was received.”)
We’ll get service restored no later than 2 p.m. tomorrow.
I hope The Big Guy can do at least as well for Sarah.
After all, she’s got fish to catch, moose to shoot, fences to mend, movies to promote, and presidencies to run for.
Plus, Bishop Muthee is expected back in Wasilla soon to show her how to stick pins into the voodoo doll one of her acolytes sent her, telling her it was a representation of me and my trusty frisbee.

Here's a sign of the ignorance of C4P posters talking about the money Palin will need:
ReplyDeletePalin Prez 6 hours ago
$2,500 is peanuts compared to what Obama is taking from our children. Let's not whine about not being able to come up with $2,500. You can always cut some fat somewhere, and most of us can shell out $2,500. It is for a great cause. The future of our country is hanging in the balance here.
==================================
So all of Palin's fans are working and wealthy? Doubtful. They talk too much like young kids as many of them have indicated in their posts. They also believe all the idiots who reply to their survey about donating all their money to Palin's campaign. People say what you want to hear in an anonymous survey but they are too idiotic to realize that. They obviously have forgotten what a failure their plan for her movie was where EVERY Palin fan in the country was to buy five tickets, no matter where they lived and give them to friends? That worked out really well, didn't it?
Palin's not hiring staff is indicative of her distance from reality. Maybe she thinks she can win via FB and Twitter and without speeches and interviews. Never gonna happen. They are already applauding her unknown unconventional campaign strategy. We'll see just how well that plays out without any staff to speak of.
Her Excellency has spoken.
ReplyDeleteSarah Palin Dismisses August Default Deadline: ‘It’s Not Armageddon’
Fox News, Greta Van Susteren.
She considers the deadline “looming” but does not fear disagreement up to that date.
Okey dokey, we're all good.
Sarah says:
ReplyDeleteAugust 2nd deadline is just drama. Not really a deadline.
His speech was "bizarre".
He's fearmongering so he can "cram bigger government and more spending down the public's throat."
She insists that Obama present "a plan".
"He's got a problem internally because he didn't have to go try to reinvent any will here...reinventing the will here in the 11th hour."
"He doesn't understand that we have an over-spending problem here in America."
"He wants to incur more debt and grow government."
Aaarhh. I can't even say anything. I'm exhausted.
@anonymous 7:48 re: Sarah Palin on Gretawire.............WOW, JUST WOW. I think Sarah is heading for a breaaaaaaak down. I haven't seen her so frazzled in a while. Toward the end of the interview I thought she was going to screaammmm. bwahhahahahahahahahahahaha also too she made no sense at all
ReplyDeleteWho the hell would be stupid enough to want that pair of morons for speakers at any event (save the derp convention)? I mean failed advisers to a failed political whore? No thanks....
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't pay a penny to hear these idiots spin tales about politics, after all they worked for an insane idiot and they have no crediability now at all.
ReplyDeleteLosers, any of them, all of them.
I'd say working for Palin would leave a stink on one for the rest of their lives.
@9:40 check with Team Sarah on her future appearances. She's got the tea baggers convention in Memphis in Sept. That's it.
ReplyDelete@9:09
ReplyDelete"...five cents...," you are too generous.
I would estimate the GOP candidate would get a tweet of support from Sarah.
Face it, these people have to have "down time" away from the screeching banshee from Wasilla. I would imagine it to be exhausting trying to deal with her moods, and the dysfunctional "family". Besides, they probably had to baby sit the grandkids, and put up with pissy Piper. Too much stress in the entire group.
ReplyDeleteI hope they have had a "Frank Bailey" awakening; however charming SP can be at times that ultimately she is a petty, self-centered child.

Very interesting, anonymous. I have been convinced that there is no way Sarah would play second fiddle; she would see her two-month running mate campaign as entitling her to the top spot this time around.
But what you say makes perfect sense; angle her way on to someone's ticket as VP, specifically so that person is responsible for all the work, while she just has to run around braying like a jackass and winkin' and flirtin' and bein' the hottest governor from the coldest state and gettin' all the free clothes and purty things and all, you betcha. Just like last time!
Sarah is the jackass that won't stop braying while you're feeding the chickens
ReplyDeleteI think Sarah is going to pull out by saying she isn't ready: she will wait until 2016. That will give her four more years to rake money in - if anyone still believes in her myth.
ReplyDeleteI bet that's why she stopped the bus tour, to throw these two under it before she starts up again!
ReplyDeleteWill they be critical or are they her new cheerleaders?
Logistics for the bus tour? Wouldn't that be similar to being the one who plans a family vacation while the family drops off like flies? I guess planning all those flights home when each one got disgusted and could no longer stand each other took quite a bit of logistics.
ReplyDelete8:23pm. I wonder if Sarah isn't starting to understand that the best role for her is the VP role. She can actually get by doing very little. In the back of her mind, she may understand that she could never possibly deal with all the issues that have landed on President Obama. Do you think she may be courting Perry for a combined ticket?
ReplyDeleteCan't bode well for the Palin fridge.
ReplyDeleteThese two syncopants aren't going to extoll the virtues of Sarah Palin. We all know how she treats "the help" from Bailey's book. These two were closely involved in Sarah's inner circle, even to the point of Sarah trusting them enough to rehire them.
I think I smell the aroma of another book to add to my reading list
