Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

If I lived in Washington DC this is EXACTLY what I would be expecting next.
But hey you know what?
I bet President Obama has a plan to deal with this too.
I know it seems that there is always some kind of pregnancy question with the Palins. After looking at this pic: http://www.joemcginniss.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/article-2031204-0D9983BD00000578-65_468x449.jpg and already wondering what, on Earth, could there be interesting about a reality show with Bristol, I'm wondering if she's using the family's empathy pregnancy gear to follow a faked pregnancy on the show as a way to introduce a second child.
Was just listening to Morning Joe (because my husband likes to laugh at him). Joe was praising all the Republican governors for the hurricane prep but not one word for President Obama.
Then, he went on to defend Dick Cheney and blame Obama (backed up by Pat Buchanan) for expanding war, making more terrorists, and then saying that Obama should be charged with war crimes at the end of his term. Never, ever saying Bush-Cheney should.
I am so over this show and Joe Scarborough ignorant rants. One can have a difference of opinion, but he takes his rants too far. He's beginning to sound like Faux News.
I understand how awful the drone attacks can be but using drones save our troops. We should wrap up our wars faster, but President Obama is not the one who started them.
BTW, anyone notice that the No.2 in the Al Queda organization was killed this past week? Progress is being made and wars are winding down - though not quite fast enough for many of us. Still, that's no reason to blame Obama for the Bush-Cheney fiascoes.
What is with the bash-Obama trend?
I just read that the AFL-CIO will cut back on funding Dem re-elections. Why?
Powell has no ethics, either, and it's hard for me to support an opportunist like him who was too chickenshit to speak up about Iraq and whose behavior in Vietnam was atrocious.
Colin Powell and Vietnam
Colin Powell during his second tour of duty in Vietnam (his first tour was spent torching villages throughout the A Shau Valley) played a key role in covering up massacres by U.S. soldiers. Powell was assigned to investigate charges contained in a letter by a young specialist fourth class named Tom Glen, which exposed My Lai-like atrocities.
Glen's letter said that that he had seen Vietnamese civilians shot in the back by U.S. soldiers who "for mere pleasure, fire indiscriminately into Vietnamese homes and without provocation or justification shoot at the people themselves." Glens letter also exposed torture as part of soldiers interrogating "suspects."
Powell response was a complete cover up. He never questioned Glen or assigned anyone else to talk with him. Powell claimed that Glens charges couldnt be true because U.S. soldiers in Vietnam were taught to treat Vietnamese courteously and respectfully and that the soldiers had gone through an hour-long course on how to treat prisoners of war under the Geneva Conventions. Powell concluded saying that, "relations between American soldiers and the Vietnamese people are excellent."
"I don't know how much God has to do to get the attention of the politicians. We've had an earthquake; we've had a hurricane. He said, 'Are you going to start listening to me here?' Listen to the American people because the American people are roaring right now. They know government is on a morbid obesity diet and we've got to rein in the spending."
Not ashamed to admit I am behind our President 110%. America needs good leadership and he delivers, what he really needs is a Congress of serious representatives that will put solutions ahead of ideology and get the work that so desperately needs doing, done.
Anon @3:40 Joe Scarborough is a coward that has great difficulty with accepting truth. Your husband has a very strong constitution if he can put up with that abusive jackal.
I hope the rest of America is wising up to the non stop bashing that has been underway from almost the get go. Many reasons support it, none of them good...mostly IMO the naysayers are recognizing that we the people have a good shot at regaining a functioning representative government back after so many years of living through a fog, and their entrenched power centers are seriously at risk. My take...I take it all very seriously, I think we truly are at a very pivotal momemt in our country's history. I'm in for the fight, I hope everyone else here is as well.
I always loved politcal cartoons, especially the snarky ones!
Joe Scarbro is a total asshat, My husband bought Mika's book for me, although I didn't know much about her and thought she was kind of ditzy, she's actually a very well educated, well rounded, and her book is a must read for all women!
They're having Cheyney (The Dick, not The Liz) on this week, and she has said some pretty damning things about him in the past. I actually might tune in just to see her reaction, but the show is a joke.
Hey Gryph, how was the fair? Did you run into anyone? and was your foot on the brake or the accellerator? ;o)
