The rhetoric from the Teabaggers in Wisconsin has gone from the sublime to the ridiculous.

Courtesy of Politico:

"I will tell you ladies and gentlemen, I detest and despise everything the left stands for. How anybody can endorse and embrace an ideology that has killed a billion people in the last century is beyond me," said Tea Party Nation CEO Judson Phillips.

Phillips, who a day prior likened protesters of Gov. Scott Walker to Nazi storm troopers, urged a few hundred tea party supporters to turn out for state Sen. Alberta Darling, who is in a ferocious battle with state Rep. Sandy Pasch to hold onto her suburban Milwaukee seat.

Something about me that you may not know is that I can be terribly forgetful.

However I am PRETTY sure that if I were involved with the killing of a billion people I would remember it.

I am going to assume that this jackass is comparing the American Left Wing to the Chinese and Soviet  Communists, and then I will further assume that the Teabagger's ongoing struggle with mathematics explains that ridiculously inflated number. (By the way if you wanted to know which ideology really HAD killed almost a billion people, I am afraid you would have to look to religion. But of course I would say that, I am a Godless liberal.)

Which means in just that one sentence this idiot has demonstrated his lack of a competent understanding for history, politics, as well as mathematics. And THESE are the people jerking the choke chain controlling the Republican party?

By the way, just in case you think I am being too judgmental concerning the intellectual prowess of our anti-education, pro-Constitution (Before they added all of those troublesome Amendments), Bagger buddies, perhaps you have not yet seen what was written on the side of the bus that they drove to Wisconsin.

Now I only attended public schools, so you will have to forgive me, but WE were never taught to spell September that way. (Psst, it's up at the top of the bus.)

Come on Wisconsin Democrats, you can't let these idiots win the day now can you?

I live in WI. The contempt for the walker and his ilk is palpable. We WILL reclaim Madison from it's current state of "fitzwalkerstan." Tuesday will be a wonderful preview of what will happen to the walker in his recall election.

  2. Oh gawd, that is so pitiful - both Phillips and the typo.

I hope all of the Repugs go down in flames on Tuesday.

Didja ever notice how Scott Walker parts his hair like Hitler? (Yes, I just invoked Godwin's Law...)

We VOTE Tuesday. I will vote as will most people I know. Then they can join the unemployment line. They still will not understand WHY. They figure that they just did not "explain" it enough so us simple people can understand. What they don't realize is that we understand Corporate Fascism quite well. We don't like it,...we don't want it,...and we don't want Walker or his masters. bye, bye !!

I was at that rally yesterday as a witness. My presence and the presence of my compatriots changed the media reporting of the rally significantly. We flipped the narrative. We're cited in the Politico article. I almost never read Politico, but I read it today!

Never underestimate the power of small actions.

Tuesday is BIG. If anyone can help with the efforts, please do. Phone banking can happen out-of-state. GOTV is key.

Phillips was probably referring to abortion when he made the remark about killing a billion people.

It's a common tactic on the right to demonize the left, and that is what Phillips was doing. The demonizing gets worse when the right is in trouble. The numbers must be looking pretty bad for the GOP in WI on Tuesday.

The worst part is how the media rarely, if ever calls out the right when they lie like that. Or at least ask them on what basis they have such opinions or to back up their assertions with facts.

  10. You would think that a bunch of people who are so concerned about being "fiscally conservative" would be darn careful how they spend their money. A bus wrap like that costs a pretty penny, but nobody bothered to spell check? Which is typical of the Tea Party's lack of attention to detail.

  18. It's all about abortion...billions of them (as if he even knows)...his wife could have even aborted his children...perhaps he should consider putting her in jail first:

From Oxford Companion to the Body:

Approximately 50-70% of pregnancies end in spontaneous abortion. Most of these losses are unrecognized because they occur before or at the time of the next expected menstrual period. About 15-20% of clinically diagnosed pregnancies are lost by 16 weeks.

  19. What a joke. I think even baggers will be embarrassed by that bus' misspelling.

    Two of @WestWingReport's tweets today:

Last decade has been terrible for America. Bookended by two once unthinkable events: terror attack & credit downgrade. A mess in between

Many comparisons to the govt.'s sharp spending cuts in 1937-38. Unemployment soared & caused a nasty recession

Congress & Senate have the month of August off. They should ALL be rebutting these absurd claims *in unison*. Off the top of my head, here's mine:

    1) Reduce size & instrusiveness of govt. // start with DOMA, imposing rules on doctors when counseling women and creating unnecessary hurdles to register to vote.

    2) Stop raising our taxes // lowest tax rates since Eisenhower Adm.

    3) Repeal Obamacare // and have more and more people without medical access as more and more people are laid off.

    4) Cease out-of-control spending // by getting the heck out of Iraq and Afghanistan and paying outlandish sums to military contractors

    5) Bring back American prosperity // by creating National Infrastructure bank funded by corporations who have more cash laying around than they can invest (since they're not hiring Americans).

I guess Judson "Dickhead" Phillips hasn't the slightest familiarity with historical facts. This is from Wikipedia regarding Nazism:

"Nazism was founded out of the current of the FAR-RIGHT and racist German völkisch nationalist movement and the violent anti-communist Freikorps paramilitary culture that fought against the uprisings of communist revolutionaries in post-World War I Germany."

Wikipedia clearly states that Nazism was diametrically opposed to communism, but asshole Phillips links the modern American liberals to BOTH the Nazis AND the communists. Only a mental Lilliputian would do so.

But, if we know anything at all about Phillips it is that he is a moron.

Fucking pathetic! And they will never know or care. My daughter says that these people are the reason that I must never own a gun. Because I will use it. My secret fantasy is an invisible ray gun that I can just zap these idiots with and nobody will ever know what made them disappear. That is the difference between liberals and crazy people (republicans, christianists, teabaggers etc.)
I won't actually do it. I will never carry a gun or an invisible ray gun. I won't even sic my invisible god to smite them. But man, if I ever get super powers and can make myself invisible....

Freedom of speech is vital to this country.

Still, there are times when I wish any news outlet spreading (and profiting from) this kind of outrageous bullshit could be charged with criminal negligence.

But then I have so MANY naive, apparently obsolete notions about politics, like fairness ... compromise ... putting country above partisanship ... etc.

What I'm concerned about is the rhetoric that the Tparty and militant followers have ramped up, and what they might do in Wisconsin if Walker is kicked out.

Sarah's worshipers have been threatening violent overthrow of the Government today at C4P, and I'm hoping no more shootings will happen.

We have Palin, Sharron Angle, Allen West, and Joyce Kaufman for rabble rousing the crowds of religious supremacists into a frenzy by saying stuff like this at rallies starting in 2008:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VB7g3y597fs

Just listen about 9:30 in this video as Kaufman threatens armed overthrow of the US government.

The people posting there also are the most stupid, hateful racist group. They are fucking morons who don't understand history, government or economics.
They actually believe The president and Democrats are trying to destroy the middle class and the Republicans and tea party are on their side. Can you believe it.
How can they be so frankly stupid as to not see what is going on. They think Sarah fights for the middle class, the little guy.
Hey idiots- you are stupid and uninformed! Get some education for Gods sake. Whether you like President Obama or not, the FACTS are that Democrats have ALWAYS been the ones to fight for the middle class. Every thing they fight for is for the average person. The Republicans and the tea party have fought every policy/law ever introduced to help the middle class. Open your eyes you stupid idiots. Unbelievable!!

I am a Wisconsin teacher who has participated in the Madison protests since the first week. The first time the Tea Party showed up, I made it a point to go up to as many of them as I could, extend my hand, and thank them for coming to express their first amendment rights and not their second amendment rights, all the while with my anti-Walker sign in hand. This usually provoked a smile or a laugh, and most did not know what to say to me or ended up thanking me for coming. Some did engage in debate in which they eventually admitted corporations should be paying taxes, too. "You see, we agree on something!" I'd say.

I should add that I am a SPECIAL EDUCATION teacher, and this is how I approach the most recalcitrant students.

I am SO psyched for these elections, I can't tell you. It means the world to us that people in other states and countries are behind us!

OT: I just wanna ask our top administrator,

    Mr. President.

Why did you accept the mantle of being the President of the United States of America?
    Really why?

    You literally make me cry..

Did you actually want to help AMERICA and her PEOPLE or just be 'one of the guys in the "We are Harvard smart and y'all others just can't comprehend the logistics of Supply and Demand and our love affair with the Big Daddies who show me and those darn Republicans how to really
grind those lap-dance-dollars from our BigCorporate Daddies into our PartiesPanties."

No offense Hard right Repubs; Both Dem and Repubs cream their pants for WallSt. bribes and their ilk.

    My father was a school superintendent for many years- who studied history and philosophy in college- who also got a Fellowship to study at Yale (I am apparently not BTW)-- I asked him when I got my 1st manager position at a small bakery;

"Dad, you were an administrator, what would be your best advice to me?"

"I hire the best. Mrs. XXXX is the best So and So and Mr. XXX is the best at This-and-whatnot-I hired them to do their jobs, and if there is a problem - I step in and resolve it." (RESOLVE IT, resolves the problem, how oldschool yet refreshing is that.)

In sweet retrospect, my Dad didn't give me practical advice for me to manage a small cafe, but was telling me something about him and how he became a successful administrator.

Too bad Our current 'administrator' is asleep at the f-ng wheel. What a lost opportunity for him as a so called administrator, and the people
that believed in him- that he was capable of administering .

He, our President, lied to me. Lie after lie ; hiring , one of the architects and cheerleaders of WallSt. Featuring- Tim Geinther, astronomically bad choice and a blatant smack in the face to the people who hired you to do the job you were elected to do..(he just let Pelosi and Reid fight for HealthCare -Then got-a-goodnight's-sleep because the BigBoys know I'm still rooting for them/acceptance.

My father would have known the massive responsibility of the top administrative job and contemplated if he were up to it; If he could battle the money-influencer-corruptors against the do-gooders and the PTA type middleclass strugglers .

I told my Dad before he passed away' "Dad, You are my Jimmy Carter, You are my PaulSimon. You are my Idol of integrity. You give meaning to action. Your back up your words with action ."

My Dad taught my Love is a verb, He lived it!

My father, as a top administrator (school superintendent), knew what his mantle of responsibility was, too bad our top administrator does not seem to give a good-god-damn or is willfully obtuse. Prez. lied to me and paid the RobberBarons on-top of my distain... continually I might add.

On a mor optimistic note, hope Frank Rich continues to be a fantastic journalist! Frank Riche's NYM piece on Murdoch is another wonderful must read.

Sadly, I can't vote (my Senator, Fred Risser -- he's been a state senator for over 50 years -- was spared from being recalled; the teabagging GOP'ers didn't get anywhere near the signatures needed to force a recall election), but will be watching/possibly partying in downtown Madison with Ed Schultz.

A little article from last Friday with pictures of a Tea Party gathering in La Crosse, WI ... pictures showing "tens of people" attending. http://uppitywis.org/blogarticle/tea-party-rally-rocks-lacrosse-well-not-exactly-rocking
