Todd Palin is confronted by Alaskan in Iowa who reminds the Palins that their BS no longer works up here in the Last Frontier.

Courtesy of SF Gate:

As we told you the other day, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin hasn't decided yet to run for president.

One big question she will have to answer is why she quit after only two years as governor. The question came up as Palin and husband Todd swooped through the Iowa State Fair the other day.

A woman, who identified herself as an Alaskan, questioned Todd about why his wife quit.

He told her to watch "The Undefeated" -- the movie about Palin made by a conservative filmmaker.

They got into it, and the exchange ended with the woman calling Todd a "sellout."

God I LOVED seeing that.

I cannot believe that Sarah Palin's personal purse valet suggested to this lady that she needed to watch "The Undefeated."

Hey asshole, we are Alaskans!  We don't need to see the movie, we fucking LIVED it!

That is how we know it is a poorly constructed piece of propaganda that NOBODY wanted to attend and which nowadays cannot even attract donations of pet foods in exchange for tickets.

Which is something that Spokane politician Mike Noder discovered the hard way:

Sarah Palin may not be much of a draw in Spokane.

That’s one conclusion – and a charitable one, at that – to draw from an event a little more than a week ago at The Bing Crosby Theater featuring the new biographical movie about Palin. Planned as a chance to raise money for charities, food for Second Harvest Food Bank and pet supplies for Spokanimal, it was a disappointment, said organizer Mike Noder.

Unsure how much it might bring in, and unwilling to run afoul of the state Public Disclosure Commission, he didn’t want to collect money for his low-cost mayoral campaign. But he offered hold the screening and collect for some local charities.

Admission was free, with would-be watchers urged to bring food or pet supplies or donate to charity.

“People responding were kind of vicious,” Noder said. Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery wanted no part of the gig and the Food Bank wouldn’t bring down donation barrels, he said.

The movie, which aired on a Thursday night, didn’t draw a big crowd. Noder estimated it at 50, although others thought it might’ve been half that. The Northeast Community Center Youth Group got the door receipts. The Food Bank got some donations and a plastic grocery bag of food. Spokanimal got some donations and a couple cases of cat food.

Noder actually got less than nothing: “My web traffic dropped. The association was not good for my campaign.”

Time to face reality "Tawd." Alaskans know you and your wife pathetic quitters, clearly movie audiences know you are pathetic quitters, and the number of American voters who know you are pathetic quitters is growing everyday.

Do you think Todd has a line item in his contract that gives him an out if Sarah's popularity and grifting abilities really fall off a cliff? If people stop giving her money, what will they all do?

Also, Gryphen did you see the results of the C4P survey they did a few weeks ago? They surveyed their members/visitors and seem to be surprised by the demographics: http://conservatives4palin.com/2011/07/what-we-learned-about-c4p-readers-from-the-survey.html. The audience skews middle-aged and older:

"But our survey showed that 74% of our readers are older than age 47 and 42% of you are between the ages of 47-60, by far the most popular age bracket. Just over 7% of our surveyed audience is younger than age 33 and in fact, 32% of our audience is older than 61."

    And male:
"For whatever reason, vastly more men (61% compared to 39%) are hardcore readers of C4P than women."

They seem surprised by these results. I could have saved them the trouble of running the survey. Pretty much everyone knows Sarah's fans are white men over 50.

First - we know those legal were highly inflated by her tow-sucker who calls himself a lawyer but isn't - VanFleaBag.

Secondly - The Wasillabillies weren't footing the legal fee bill -- they were pimping their followers for the $$ by setting up the defense fund. McCain's campaign also paid part of the legals.

Hey limp dick Todd -- you and your whore will always be known as bullshitters.

Like Candid Camera, when you least expect it -- after the attention goes away -- you might best decide to hide in your bunker as you have helped destroy America. Payback's a bitch.

  12. Did I hear correctly that Todd upped the legal debt from the originally claimed $500K to $700K?

I'd like to ask him how in the world they managed to rack up that much debt using a lawyer that charged around $180 an hour...for supposedly frivolous ethics claims, no less, that don't even require an attorney. (Ethics claims are personnel issues not lawsuits.) And why didn't Sarah submit the legal bills for Troopergate -- the ethics claim she brought against herself -- to the state so she could be reimbursed as agreed? Were they hiding something? And if there was a problem with the ethics act, why didn't Sarah stay on as Governor so she could fix it? And why did she refuse to document the amount of claimed legal bills when setting up a trust to take money from the public to pay them?

And then I'd like to know about Todd being found guilty of 'contempt of Senate'. Oh, and also, too, when is Sarah going to waive her right to privacy in the Troopergate investigation so the documents can be made available for the public to make up its own mind about the discrepancies in the two investigations....you know, like Sarah insisted AG Renkes do with his ethics claim.

Hey, Todd. What would you like to tell us about the Anchoraged PD making up stuff to cover for you. Oh, yeah, I'd like to get a chance to chat with Todd Palin.

What I found interesting is that this woman sounded like a disillusioned supporter, and even had that piled up rats nest hairdo going on.

Sarah can't even hold on to her supporters, much less expand her base or convert the "haters".

Has there ever been such a loser, in the face of so much opportunity, with only herself to blame?

  15. I got carried away and forgot to say how awesome it was to watch the Alaskan woman call Todd a 'sellout'. (applause)

    ReplyDelete
  16. Anonymous4:24 PM

And the legal bills just keep getting inflated...first it was half a mill, now it's seven hundred thou. Right. Has anyone actually seen an itemized list from her lawyer? And by the way, if she was so innocent of all these ethics charges, why did she have to pay a lawyer that much money to defend her?

Anyway, loved how the woman kept a smile on her face the entire time she called the grifter out.

Hard to believe a family who lived in a beautiful house on a lake, owned two vacation properties, and a private plane couldn't afford some legal bills to defend themselves against ethics complaints. Not lawsuits. Just some ethics complaints.

Grifters. Palin just posted some quote from Mark Twain about "astonishing people by doing the right thing." Predictably, her bots swooned. It seems very few people were interested in why they were there, etc. - except Sean Hannity, of course. He had to interview her.
She will soon come up with a reason not to run and it will be because of her family being mistreated.

The photo of Palin looking down at the white house was removed for the purpose of using the space to post "campaign" news or updates. I read this at C4P written by a person who apparently makes or shares decisions about the site.

Palin supporters responded to pledge for the Palin presidential campaign. C4P wanted to set up a trust for the monies but decided it was too late. There was talk of having 300 million collected so the moment Palin announces they already had 300 million.

There was NO reason for the Palins to personally foot the legal bills. It was their choice.

  44. A little clarification about Palin's legal fees.

Palin is deliberately obfuscating the situation.

The State of Alaska offered (and still does offers) to pay Mrs. Palin's legal fees to defend ethics complaints related to her service as Governor. That means she was, and is, entitled to representation by the state's attorneys. She declined to accept that arrangement. Even now, in the Chip Thoma suit, the State repeats that it will defend her for her actions as Governor, but won't pay for her own private attorney.

The State isn't liable to pay for Mrs. Palin's private attorney, Thomas Van Flein et al. And there has been no accounting for the 600,000 Mr. Palin claims Van Flein owed.

Moreover, over half of the legal fees relating to the ethics complaints were attributable to the Troopergate ethics complaint Mrs. Palin FILED AGAINST HERSELF as an end run around the Troopergate ethics investigation by a bi-partisan Senate. The same bi-partisan Troopergate ethics investigation which found Mrs. Palin had violated Alaska law. The same investigation Mrs. Palin said had completely exonerated her.

IIRC, tallies by the state were in the 200,000-250,000 range for defense of the ethics complaints. And again, over half were for Mrs. Palin's complaint against herself.

Again, if my rotten memory serves, the best discussion of legal fees related to the ethics complaints is in the opinion striking down the Alaska Fund Trust--Mrs. Palin's legal defense fund. That opinion explained that Mrs. Palin could (but chose not to) avail herself of free representation by the State.

And now she doesn't have to pay for them anyway! Also if the lawsuits were so frivolous, why were they facing such high lawyer fees?

So let's see, the Fox show, the reality show, books, book tours, Sarah PAC, movie, etc...her Fox salary is reportedly $1mill/year alone, I think that would cover it!

I was just talking with a friend from Spokane, and she tells me that place is red red red. It's Seattle and the surrounding area that is blue, and pulled Washington State for Obama, no thanks to Spokane. So, Sarah's target demographics were in Spokane. The problem is, Sarah doesn't have any demographics anymore. Well, only 50 of them.

So many things point to Sarah finding a good excuse to sit out the 2012 election. She'll offer endorsements and advice form the sidelines, so she can keep that million dollar a year job at Fox. Bristol can have her reality show, although judging from Bristol's book sales, and the attendance for Sarah's movie, that's going to have a short shelf life, too. (Can someone be a candidate if their kid is on TV every week? If Sarah plans on popping in on that fake reality show, she can't be a candidate.)

So let's count Sarah's flops: Showed up at Iowa State Fair and didn't get any write in votes in the straw poll. (The cow that was made out of butter got 3 votes). Movie: flop. Bus tour: big joke, what with ringing those bells and warning the British. Sarah's appearances on Fox: scripted, staged and fake. She isn't looking too good, either.

Meanwhile, it really must be eating her up inside to watch Michele get so much attention, and now Rick Perry. Sarah once said that she would run if there weren't any good candidates. There are plenty of people who out-conservative Sarah, and out-religious her too. Bachmann spent a year in Israel, working on a kibbutz. Perry hears directly from God (as does Michele). They are leaving Sarah back there on the bus, thinking up new lessons of American History and hoping to attract a crowd and some money.

5:14 PM - that's exactly right. Unfortunately nobody knows different, so the Palins have gotten away with saying that ethics investigations cost them personally.
So not true. The state system provides for investigation. Then, depending on its findings, it provides an attorney, if one is needed. There's a protocol. The Palins went around it.
Of course, they have the option to do whatever they want in their own best interest. At their own expense.
In this case, Van Flein was under contract with the State of Alaska for exactly a week, before resigning to represent the Palins privately. Both of them. Because Todd was subpeonaed, remember? There's no obligation that the state provide legal counsel for executive office spouses.

That little factoid has been brushed aside many times. Just one more thing she got away with.

Why does Todd always come off so aggressive, and as a thug to women on the street? What the hell is that about?

"Divorce Todd? Have you seen Todd?"

Yeah, I've seen him, seems like a big prick to ME.

"32% of our audience is older than 61."

Let's say that again: A full THIRD of their audience are of her parents' generation.

When you can't get your own generation to relate to you, much less the new one, what does that tell you about your relevancy?

This is something I've always said about Sarah. I'm shocked a woman her age (near my age) has the values of her mother. If I ran for president, I would obviously be coming from the perspective of my own generation, as for example, Barack Obama did. In fact, that was one of the things he ran on, that he wasn't an older boomer, he wasn't tied to the civil rights struggle for example like Jesse Jackson. And people respected him for that. I switched my vote from Hillary to Barack at the last minute, largely because of this, because it was OUR time. I felt he deserved the shot.

So what's comforting, at least, politically, is that Palin's blueprint has been rejected. She's been embraced for her youthful look, her spunkyness and attractiveness, but rejected for her failure to live an authentic life. That makes me very satisfied.

I know that woman, she used to live in Juneau, was a precinct worker there.

Whoever she is, she's a "Real American" hero for calling down the Half-Gov's thug.

....wow, the cow made out of bitter didn't even do that well!

The Alaskan woman was far more polite than I would have been. I would have said "that's nonsense" to the answer about all the debt hanging over their heads. The most important question to me would have been "why fake a pregnancy?"

I couldn't understand a word this high-pitched, fast-talking, whiny, purse-holding, panty-sniffing wimp was saying. But I heard every word the Alaskan woman said. Loud and clear! Great find.

Anon 4:27 PM "Sarah Palin is the biggest hoax in US political history."

And THAT is why her critics keep the pressure on about her. It is a travesty that someone like Sarah Palin came so close to the Vice Presidency of this country.

    Okay let's flip for it.
Heads you loose and you take Piper as your student.

Tails I win and I get year off from that disrespectful.... ummmm little.... ummmm diva.

Oh my. You have my sympathies if you have had the bad luck to try to educate any of those wild, raised-by-wolves Palin spawn. Maybe you will get lucky and there will be a Palin bus campaign/book signing/grifting tour that Sarah will need cute props for. Trig seems to have been retired for the time being. Piper's not too tall, is she? She'll do just fine. And maybe she'll get some fine home skoolin' from Mommy or Grandma Heath. They should send that brat to charm school to learn some manners before it is too late.

Someone just needs to respond with "The money would still be there for the taking after Sarah finished her term". She could have done the responsible thing, finished her Governorship then cashed in after she was out of office. I don't believe they had personal bills that large but even if it were true they could have managed payments. Just like buying a large house.

    Squeeky Todd Palin:

"What would you do? What would you do with all those pesky frivolous ethics complaints that have no merit yet manages to render our Administration incapable of grifting?"

It would have been nice to point out that they settled once again to repay their grift rather than face a ruling - $6800 in not chump change, even to the Palin's who pucker up tighter than a drum when it comes to distributing their personal wealth accumulated from OPM - even if it is ostensibly to pay off anything and everything put before them over the years. They are STILL asking the State to defend them, pick up the tab, when the RNC passes.

    Sarah Palin for President?

...it's not a matter of IF she'll sellout the country - she will - she sold out Alaska, after all.

No; it's only a matter of holding out for the most money she's offered.

    ...just like every other Republican.

    (...and most Democrats, too.)
