Wisconsinites drown Scott Walker out at State Fair with chants of "Shame."

 Courtesy of WISN.com:

Political protesters shouted down Gov. Scott Walker Thursday as he officially declared the fair open for business.

From the moment Walker stepped on stage for the State Fair opening ceremony, a group of protesters in the crowd tried to shout him down.

But Walker carried on, trying not to let it interfere with his message, or the fair itself.

"Eight hundred thousand people are going to be here this week, and that handful of people will not distract the majority. People from around the state and around the Midwest are going to come and have a fun time," Walker said.

There was a also a strong showing of Walker supporters in the crowd, but they appeared outnumbered and outshouted by the anti-Walker protesters.

If this is any indication of Walker's political future in Wisconsin it doesn't exactly look very bright.

Perhaps a lesson to others that putting corporations ahead of your constituents is going to bite you in the ass in the long run.

  1. On Wisconsin! These people are showing the rest of the country how to deal with tyrants and domestic terrorists. Don't give them a minute of rest. I'm surprised that Walker even showed up at the fair. I thought he had retreated long ago to his man cave.

What continues to amaze me about this is the national press coverage of this issue. The national sources covered a tea party rally in WI this last week that looked like a backyard bar-b-q, but don't cover this. The tea party has the control they have because the media has covered the Tea Party balloon boy story and doesn't cover the protests.

Not to nitpick, Gryphen, but I'm almost positive the proper term for Cheeseheads is "Wisconsinarians" (if they're righthanded) and "Wisconsinalians" (if they're lefthanded).

A little fact-checking never hurts, yah, hey dere.

Walker should open his eyes, and look at what is going on around him. A roaming gang of thugs was at the state fair, beating people and vehicles and causing mayhem. Maybe if they had JOBS, they would be occupied with other things? Maybe the younger generation is losing confidence in government? This is no excuse to terrorize people, I know, but why are these things happening? The repubs. and TP ers are completely out of touch with the real world.

Did he have that famous thick skin that only the Palin's manage to have in the great history of America?

This is vindication for the Tea Party M.O. when they hijacked the health care debate in town halls across the country. Remember when Sarah Palin, on the VP trail (who fanciful enough couldn't ever manage to hear her supporters yell "terrorist" or "kill him" when riling them up over a black candidate of Muslim descent?) but when she COULDN'T make out a group of people complaining that they couldn't HEAR her, she quickly whipped out a snarky, "Thank our troops for giving you your right to free speech today" or some such bogus interpretation of what the Constitution and Bill of Rights means for American's other than Sarah Palin.

I don't see Walker or any other adult politician ever throwing that bullshit argument around, hiding behind the troops as if she's the only person in this country that supports the troops, ergo, they represent her freedom to speak to violence and stupid.

No, I don't think this occurrence enjoys an MSM slight. Let's look back at an oldie but goodie on how the MSM was victimized by the McCain / Palin camp for just doing their jobs.

I am looking for one of the six, GOPer Hopper, to be out of a job. He's the one who had a wife in the outback and a mistress in Madison who got a great state job courtesy of Walker.

The Walker recall countdown has started! Yes!

I grew up in Minnesota and know many of my Wisconsonite (yeah that's the proper term) well. They tend to lean towards what I have always called "Minnesota Nice", or maybe it's just "Midwest Nice". I am happy and somewhat stunned that he was booed at the State Fair. Wow, that just about says it all. For a sitting governor to get booed out of a public place.

So to all my cheesehead friends ( no using the word cheesehead is NOT derogatory)....

    ON WISCONSIN!!!!!

FYI , for those of you that do not know what On Wisconsin stands for--it is the title of the State Song

Did you notice his houris, standing at parade rest to the left of the stage? Female security, maybe, like old Moammar?

Wonder what they'll be doing when the political landscape changes drastically....in three days...

Don't forget everyone Walker gave his staff a 50,000 raise before he smashed everyone else. He's supposed to be a minister's son. Looks like going to church all his life did him no good. He wasn't listening to the bible or they indoctrinate evil one or the other.I used to never feel like this but since I've moved to the south and see these hypocrites and how now ,it is so national. I think they are the most immoral people I have ever seen. "what would jesus do" he would turn his back on them and say get behind me satan

Scott Walker and the Koch S*ckers should have to live in fear every single day of the rest of their lives for what they have done in WI.

    The tide is turning!

"People from around the state and around the Midwest are going to come and have a fun time as soon as I leave", Walker said.

    There. Fixed it.

Walker: "Eight hundred thousand people are going to be here this week, and that handful of people will not distract the majority. People from around the state and around the Midwest are going to come and have a fun time."

Walker trots out a tiresome threadbare straw man to deflect the embarrassment away from himself. He knows damn well those protesters are there to disrupt the fair or "distract the majority." They are there to deliver a big shit sandwich to him personally, and to him only. I also think that those protesters DID have "a fun time" at the state fair.

Walker is going to get tossed out on his flabby, ignorant, arrogant ass come the beginning of next year. He decided to be a Koch sucking slut and to give the middle finger to the entire state of Wisconsin. Maybe it is beginning to dawn on him that he screwed the pooch.

Get used to being booed and heckled Walker. I suspect you are going to get that reaction for the rest of your life in Wisconsin.

    "shout him down"

Yeah, that's the way to elevate the level of discourse. What happened to that civility crap you guys were trying to peddle?

  20. He is so going to get his ass recalled in a landslide. But before he does, he's going to have to deal with a Democratic majority in his legislature from the current recalls.

    Anon @ 12:52,
Fuck you. How do "elevate" the discourse with people who don't give a damn about anybody who disagrees with them? Walker doesn't give a shit about Wisconsin, he sees himself as some kind of holy warrior who has been anointed by God - and the Koch bros. - to destroy unions and crush liberals. It is LONG past the time for civility. The GOP has lacked civility for decades and the teabaggers have no idea what civility is.

Shouting down teabagger assholes like Walker is EXACTLY the appropriate response to extremist conservative bullies. When did Walker "elevate" the discourse? When did Walker behave "civilly?"

Get used to it. The obdurate batshit idiocy of the teabaggers is a threat to our nation and it has pissed off people who actually have brains.

I live in WI, and I can assure you that Scotty Boy will be recalled.

If you are interested in his academic career ( term used loosely), and his intrinsic lack of ethics, read on:

    http://www.politicususa.com/en/scott-walker-dirty-illegal-campaigning

Beldar, you are being facetious, right? The term is Wisconsinites, as Anonymous 7:34 clarified. In fact, 7:34 is 100% correct in all his/her assertions.

At Anonymous 12:52- unless you live in a state with as damaging a leader as we suffer in WI, I would suggest you are without the experience to judge
the political environment/level of discourse of our state. Here's a little something for you to peruse:

Yah, opening the State Fair is one of those overwhealmingly difficult obligations Governors have to do. The coward is afraid of a crowd of people drowning him out, so he tosses out the " thousands of people will come here to have fun.....blah blah blah.." What's more fun than shouting down a governor who's hellbent on destroying people's livelihoods?

If I lived there, that's exactly where I'd have been, supporting the local economy AND pissing in Walker's cheerio's.
