Courtesy of the Alaska Dispatch:
Political bogeymen are Palin's touchstones. She's tried her hand with a variety of these to varying success. Not that long ago, Palin said it was the federal deficit that was ruining the economy. But having now lost the budget ceiling fight, she appears to have abandoned the deficit. It appears she believes the answer is to warn of capitalism as the root cause of America's downward spiral.
This message has the dirty word "socialism" written all over it. It sounds in fact a lot like what presidential candidate Eugene V. Debs was saying in 1912. Could Sarah Palin run for president based on the platform of the Social Democratic Party of the United States? Or is it that attacking "crony capitalism" is just another easy for Palin to appeal to the masses?
Quick: what do "pallin' around with terrorists," "death panels," "lamestream media," and "crony capitalism" all have in common? Fear mongering.
Palin might not know much about what she reads, as she made evident in the infamous Katie Couric interview of long ago. But she clearly understands how to capitalize on the fears of Americans. When she was running for governor of Alaska, Palin instinctively perceived Alaskans were fed up with what they took to be a rotten establishment controlled by the "Corrupt Bastards Club," filthy-rich Big Oil and an arrogant governor who thought he deserved a private jet.
And when she quit as governor, there were new fears toward which to turn the people's attention. It was in her resignation that she warned of the "political operatives (who) descended on Alaska."
Nonresidents of Alaska might not fully understand the appeal to provincial fears inherent in the latter statement, but Alaskans live in a land where it is normal to despise and fear Outside interests. Palin's husband, Todd, is a former member and current supporter of the Alaska Independence Party, an organization that began by advocating secession from the United States. It has since tempered that view somewhat, but still wants to keep the federal government at arm's length. Alaskans really would like to be a foreign country north of Canada receiving a ton of U.S. foreign aid and advice, but not having to take any of the latter. Think of the place as sort of the Pakistan of the Arctic and you'll get the idea.
And that is the environment that forged Palin. She knows all about playing people's fears. She first ran for mayor of Wasilla on the issues of gun control and abortion. The city of Wasilla was not involved in either issue. The city had no gun control. The city wasn't financing any abortion. But Palin understood she could whip up the fears among the electorate by suggesting her opponents might be for the former and against the latter.
Bogeymen helped Sarah get elected mayor and then governor. This she obviously understands. Since she quit office, she's been trying to play the Alaska game on a bigger stage by whipping up national fears.
Craig Medred is dead on with this description of Palin's fear based approach to politics and that she learned it in one of the most distrustful places on the planet.
I live in Anchorage, which rural Alaskans disdainfully refer to to as "Los Anchorage" while claiming it is not the REAL Alaska. And they are not exactly incorrect about that.
In my part of Alaska we are only about five years behind the times compared to the rest of America, but many other places they are still dreaming of the day that they will have indoor plumbing and talk to their friends everyday via short wave radio.
Palin took full advantage of the fact that she was surrounded by undereducated God fearing people in Wasilla, who placed faith and church attendance well over the importance of a college education, and played on their emotions until they were afraid NOT to vote for her.
And sadly Palin has learned that there are Wasillians ALL over the country, in small towns and poor communities, who are every bit as responsive to her brand of hateful rhetoric, and scare tactics, as their Alaskan counterparts.
That is the secret of her success, and that has also been the key to her defeat. Educate the masses and you take away her influence. Revealing the truth about her, and shining a light on her numerous gaffes and public relations disasters, has slowly chipped away at her support, until today we see her as a mere shadow of her former frightening self.
But I am not convinced that we are completely finished yet which is why I still want people to read the books coming out about Palin this month and take the time to watch Nick Broomfield's very humorous documentary.
Information is like Kryptonite to Sarah Palin, so the more we learn, the less she, and those like her, can affect us in the future.
"Educate the masses and you take away her influence."
ReplyDeleteI've begun to wonder if keeping the masses uneducated might be the chief Republican strategy since 2000.
Brilliant summary from both the Dispatch and yourself Gryph! Nice one. It's amazing to think she ran for Mayor on totally irrelevant issues and wasn't laughed off the stage.
ReplyDeleteBorders report: Mine closes for good tomorrow, so I went tonight. I saw the most copies of Scott Brown's and Bristol's. I forked out $2.60 for hers figuring at this point she shouldn't make anything for the sale. I haven't had enough wine yet to even look at the pictures, though.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this post. I was just over at the pro-Palin site (wish I hadn't done it.) There were several comments from people saying they had scrimped and saved to see her speak in Iowa. One woman said she fed her kids peanut butter sandwiches the whole way, one guy said he slept in his car in a campground. Just so sad that she has been able to influence people and exploit their weakness. And for what--just so she can feel special. Shame on her.
ReplyDeleteWell said, B!
ReplyDeleteRight, Gryphen. We are far from finished. She may be the punchline of a joke at this point, but I won't feel free of the threat of this woman until it is clear to all that she is a liar and a fraud.
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of Craig Medred. He has never shied away from the trait that Sarah purports to have trademarked and that her bots feels is acceptable in polite society - but only for her - I'm talking about CALLING IT LIKE THEY SEE IT.
ReplyDeleteCraig saw stupid and warned everyone, he was our Paul Revere, he was the town crier of the MSM. No one heeded him. Then we had bloggers take up the mantle and shout from the rooftops that not only the stupid, but the mean, dangerous and vindictive was strong in Sarah.
Gryphen, you have grown in these three years we've read you.
Props for the following paragraphs.
"Palin took full advantage of the fact that she was surrounded by undereducated God fearing people in Wasilla, who placed faith and church attendance well over the importance of a college education, and played on their emotions until they were afraid NOT to vote for her.

Yes indeed B that is the strategy. Thats why they sprung sistah sarah on the dummys. Sorry dummys but you deserve it and I am being nice.
ReplyDeleteTalk about the "evil eye." Man, that is one scary looking woman! Would love to know what threat she was making in that photo you posted, Gryphen.
ReplyDelete@ B, that is the strategy used by the various Powers That Be throughout all of history. Since the days of Rome and their bread and games.
ReplyDeleteThis is totally true. BUT, I just hate directing traffic to that asshole Phil Munger. I mean you can call someone "asshole" but when you see a guy like Phil (puckered, best hidden from public view, probably a little smelly) you realise the term is truly appropriate for some.
ReplyDeleteHis treatment of you, IM, and the comments he took without regard for the feelings of those who wrote them- is unacceptable.
Thanks Gryph, I agree and think that she is still dangerous to our freedom.
ReplyDeleteGryphen, As a former Alaskan, you absolutely nailed it!!
ReplyDeleteFunny, I feel like the things coming out this month are not going to stun me much. In fact, I am guessing that I already know most of it - then again, I haven't let up on trying to understand the real Sarah since August of 2008. This is the chance for the rest of the country to know what Sarah Palin is all about. They mostly see her as a failed VP candidate who hit the tea party speakers circuit and works at Fox. Ha! Are they in for a surprise! I'm seeing a run on mail order pregnancy suits for the morning talk show hosts to use as visual aids. Great fun will be had by all!
ReplyDelete"that is one scary looking woman"
ReplyDeleteAgreed in spades, anonymous at 8:03.
You can see the snide arrogance, the full blown delusion, and the depth of her narcissism and obsession with her own purposes in that hideous and awful half smile..
That look of hers just reeks of manipulation of all around her for nefarious and dark purposes.
You PBots can look up the big words
I've begun to wonder if keeping the masses uneducated might be the chief Republican strategy since 2000.

And keep in mind, Sarah didn't have to hoodwink ALL of Wasilla. Often times less than 30% of registered voters show up for the Mayoral election and most elections are won with less than 1000 votes. Below is the link to the City of Wasilla election archives. In 1999 Palin won the Mayor's seat with 909 votes. 3786 people voted, which actually was an impressive 32% of the registered voters Them's the numbers we're talking about. Small beans. Palin could win have won just by having the adult congregation of her church come out and vote for her.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't take much to win an election in a small town, just a few friends and acquaintances can do the trick. In the last Mayoral election in Palmer, just down the road, the winning candidate had less than 700 votes. I'm never certain why these candidates spend so much money or time campaigning. Call up friends and family to vote and you can win an election.
And just think Anon 7:45, In the 90s as Mayor, Sarah impressed citizens daily with her kindness. But you don't listen to those stories as you'd rather believe the truth is ALL negative. What about the family activities, the playdates, kids friends parents who perhaps no longer live in Alaska, current friends who see Sarah regularly.
ReplyDeleteOne must consider the source when anything is said. It's true that Wasillans are burned out on Sarah and media. That's one big reason no one speaks to journalists. Another is most journalists have a negative agenda when they come to Alaska.
oops forgot to include the City of Wasilla election result archives link, for anyone that cares. This goes with my last comment regarding the Wasilla Mayoral election of 1999.

Didn't she ever pay attention in Sunday school? Satan loves to create fear and guilt; he whispers it in little ears all the time. When he can't get them to listen, he uses one of his trusted yes-men or, anyone who does his bidding. He gets someone, say, like Sarah, who loves to spew fear and hate; division and doesn't care how the fear she's created causes depression in the elderly; therefore she can be classed as Satan's apostle of misery.
ReplyDeleteHe laughs at those who fear and panic about how they'll lose everything, jobs, assets, health services. But there's another One who keeps his eyes on those are are needy and call on Him; and He loves and cares for them. So Sarah, Satan's too, likes to scare those she needs financial support from, is hell-bent on ignoring the edicts of Jesus Christ to give them this hope. Instead - she chooses to speak fear and hopelessness to them. She's given the choices to encourage, but chooses those that fear and tear down.
Sarah's followers don't need to hear about fear. Sarah needs to stop speaking, and start listening about God's grace and forgiveness then when she's overwhelmed by the love He first gave her, she'll jump at the chance to encourage, offer hope and edify the people that hold on to her every word.
If Sarah really believes that God answers prayer to those that call on him for, then her faith should reassure her that those in need, on calling Him in earnest and repentence, will be rewarded.
Sarah should know this. No reason for her to get upset on her Fox news contributor rants at POTUS. POTUS, who has many good christians who pray for him everyday that he may be imbued with the wisdom of Solomon during these trying times, fill him with more compassion, and a spirit of discernment to govern his people with clarity.
And, Sarah would, in addition to her self-professed faith, could give other leaders than herself with more qualifications a chance to direct people toward improved legislation that would improve lives.
Just so sad that she has been able to influence people and exploit their weakness
ReplyDelete--
It's called personal responsibility. Sarah doesn't control people who follow her. People cannot control who they influence. So Sarah' influences teens girls, 20 somethings, middle aged men and the elderly. Who are we to say that's bad. I don't criticize people for liking Bush or Obama, even thought I think they're both worthless leaders.

ReplyDeleteI am confused by this rant of yours.
No matter what you might think of Phil and or what he posts, how does anything in this post by Gryphen direct traffic to him?
Yours is the only reference or link to Phil that I see. There is only one link in the post and it goes to Alaska dispatch- that's not Phil or his site. Phil and his site are not in the tags either. Are you confused or does your browser show magic links the rest of us don't see? Is it possible you are just another troll stirring things?
If you for some reason have made a mistake, then remember not to do the same thing again. The reason the link is highlighted is so it is easy to click on.
She had better not be palling around with crony capitalists.
ReplyDeleteQuestion for Sarah- what is Mat-Maid all about and how is that not crony capitalism?
Thank you, Craig and Gryphen!
ReplyDeleteI hope that the end of Sarah's political career, when it comes, is accompanied by a shaken electorate, Republican Party, and media. The media can make it up to us by not giving a pass to the current crop of incompetents and dominionists.
And Sarah would be much happier designing her own brand of shoes and nail polish and producing reality tv shows.
7:55 PM
ReplyDeleteBut think how proud one would feel explaining to people how you kids sacrificed meals for that crazy bitch. ::blankstare::
This is a good post to leave the country for a week on. Maybe she will finally fade away to absolute obscurity while I am gone.
I don't dare hope her lies are all exposed, but if its going to happen, it makes sense I'd be out of country with no data turned on.
More comments from the Anonymous Writer you know where.
ReplyDeleteHello and Thanks for the latest contributions. So Palin doesn't want another failure. She needs a better staff and some organization to attract people. She had poor attendance at her speeches and her movie. But it is Sarah how is the big failure, screaming that speech and appearing worn out and tired. Bristol could stand on her head and sing "The Star Spangled Banner" and it won't erase Sarah's own failures. Did Sarah really think that Bristol winning on DWTS would equal Sarah winning the race for president? How dumb is she?
I actually watched Sarah's entire speech. It was so contradictory that I could swear her speech-writer was punking her, knowing she'd recite "everything in front of her". She started off talking about "crony capitalism", stealing the Dem's talking points, and then proposed eliminating corporate taxes. Perhaps she reviewed it and saw "crony capitalism" and said, "Ooh! Good fir-mongering catch-phrase! Stick that in there a couple more times!"
ReplyDeleteAs for buying ALL the Palin books, Joe already told us there are no bombshells (as he admitted in the introduction to his blog, which is now mysteriously missing); it's aimed at people who still think sunbeams shoot out her ass. Tough shit his intended audience is shrinking. As is his unintended audience, due to his condescending, holier-and-richer-than-thou attitude.
Fred's book, on the other hand, is one I'm definitely looking forward to. HOW soon will you have this update? I'm starting to sympathize with the Palinbots chasing after the shrink-wrapped bus hoping "THIS time she'll announce she's running!"
In school, lo those many, many decades ago, I just loved Eugene Debs. Talk about someone who never said die!
ReplyDeleteI think what I loved most about Debs is that he flat out admitted he would never win but he changed the conversation and forced said conversation.
I suppose he was the Nader and Perot of his time.
She is evil that is for sure. The Palins are Poison.

I'd already thought about that.
May be the same person bitching at me at my blog because Gryph links to PA, thinking I have some control over that. If either of you anons wants to discuss my purported control over content at IM, you can come over and talk to me Sunday morning at the Veterans Memorial in Wasilla, where I will be playing Taps at 0900 at the ceremony there for the victims of 9-11.

ReplyDelete"Palin took full advantage of the fact that she was surrounded by undereducated God fearing people in Wasilla, who placed faith and church attendance well over the importance of a college education, and played on their emotions until they were afraid NOT to vote for her."
If you look up "uneducated" in the dictionary you will see a picture of the Heaths and Palins.
By the way you God fearing people, Bristol told everybody that her heathen family is too busy to go to church!
Unfortunately, this is nothing new. I'm reminded of Governor George Wallace who feared for the "molestration" of our women and children if integration was allowed. In 1978 he ran for president. I was in Texas at the time and yes, Texas supported him.
ReplyDeleteSome things do not change.
7:36PM, ding ding ding we have a winner! Why do you think they are shoving money at voucher and charter schools? Making sure the public education system is denigrated even further? Uneducated people are easier to lead, rely more on faith than knowledge, and are duped more quickly into voting against their own economic well being. This has been the plot since Reagan took office. Dumb down the electorate and "we" can control them. It has taken the marriage of the GOP and the Religious Right coupled with the religious dominionism movement to make it happen. We are watching it unfold before our very eyes. NCLB was the biggest assault on education the world has ever seen.
ReplyDeleteFrom Anon 238:
ReplyDeleteKeep digging. Keep questioning.
When I return home, I will be sharing all I know with Jesse. I want to do my part, just as he does his part. We all need to unite and not stop until Sarah Palin the threat is neutralized. I don't care if she ends up selling Amway or reading books on tape for self-punishers to listen to. As long as she isn't on our airwaves, saying treasonously awful things about our president and stoking fear in the hearts and minds of American citizens.
Hear that, Sarah? I'm about more than just pissing you off, now. Soon everyone will know the truth about your fake pregnancy, your nonexistent college degree, and the endless well of lies and misdeeds you left in your wake as governor.

Yes ! Just do it !!
More from Anon 238:
ReplyDeleteThis is a recent issue--Sarah and Bristol had a blowout on the phone last week...Bristol was telling Sarah her "reality" show might be scrapped before one episode was even aired. (Bristol is SO boring and is testing horribly with preview audiences) Sarah told her to do "whatever it takes" to turn the tide and make the producers and the network believe she could do better. Sarah said they absolutely could not have another "failure" from within the Palin family.
This is something I wanted to mention before, something that might have supporting evidence waiting to be located. When Sarah was initially on that meteoric crest of media exposure, she was on the cover of multiple weekly magazines. There was one magazine which put Sarah on the cover and multiple family photos were used in the story. One of Sarah's people sent an email to the editor requesting the removal of one photo, saying they hadn't meant to send it. The photo was from a shoot featuring Sarah, Todd, Piper, and Trig. The only difference between the photo which was requested to be pulled from the article and the other photos from the same shoot? Trig's ears were visible in the pulled photo. I was not around for this and only heard about it well after the fact...but I heard Sarah absolutely freaked out when it was realized this photo would possibly be published in a major weekly. There was also an email sent to the same five people who seem to be "in on it" during the first week of May 2008 by Sarah from her blackberry. In it she says if any of the recipients of the message see photos of Trig being taken, make sure he has a blanket or hat to cover his "ear". She said ear, singular and not earS, plural.
It could be argued the reason for this request as well as the freak-out over the inclusion of an "ear picture" in a magazine was simply that she was vain and didn't want everyone to see this "imperfection". But given how much Sarah loves to play victim, I think this shows that she knew there would be a point in the near future where people might notice the distinct difference in this compromised ear and the perfect ear(s) on the baby presented as Trig at the convention. This is the strongest indication I see of a "baby swap".
So trolls, explain the very pregnant Bristol that appeared on E! (2/4/11).

Anon told us about Bristol's "Godson" and these pictures show that in fact she was pregnant during DWTS.
Carl Rove,Bush and Cheney built their legacy and profits on fear. Fox, was created to promote fear. Sarah was the pretty face that seduced the lazy media, she does their dirty work.
ReplyDeleteThey are quick to claim they love this country, yet are even faster to break it down with hate and fear. And trip over themselves to claim what great christians they are.
There is a special place in hell for Sarah, Beck and their ilk. I don't think they have ever had a good night sleep.
Perhaps we should send this post to the NYT and see if they still think we will agree with her phoniness!
7:36 "I wonder if keeping the masses uneducated might be the chief republican strategy" Well, it has certainly worked with their LEADERS. They seem to choose fruitcakes every time. The only one I think is normal is Huntsman, and he stands no chance at all. Perry, Bachmann, Newt (buy my books, and also Calista's) Rudy (9/11) is thinking about jumping in. Is there a sane one in their entire group?
ReplyDeleteSarah Palin does what she does best and that is project hate.
ReplyDeleteIf she had been a democrat female, she would have been arrested or run out of the country for her hate speeches, blood libel and saying the President is fooling around with terrorists.
No democrat would have been allowed to say what she has said and remain free.
Sarah Palin and her enablers are a cancer on this country and I hope and pray they get their own kind of justice. She is a snake of the worst kind with her venom.
Whether or not Sarah Palin runs for president, I consider her mean and dangerous. She is useful to the Republican Party because she can "rile up the masses." I won't be satisfied until she is completely gone from the television screen and from any podium in the country and retired to her houses in Wasilla and Arizona - with no hope of being elected to any office anywhere.
ReplyDeleteSadly, some are trying to inoculate their followers against information by teaching them that facts are not important, and not to trust what they learn from the outsiders. Michelle Bachmann's willful ignorance exemplifies this.
ReplyDeleteBut we must keep up the good fight!
Excellent. I was disgusted with that NY times piece about Sarah. THAT guy is clueless. To suggest that Sarah is suddenly making sense, in fact Liberal sense, is to not know Sarah. Apparently THAT guy didn't check his Alaska Sarah history very closely, because he missed the part about her getting together with the Dems to fight Big Oil and Big Republicans. THIS article is right on. THIS is the Sarah we know. She may not be the brightest bulb, but this she knows. She has radar for which positions seem "mavericky." She has realized that the Repubs are thoroughly in the pockets of Corporate America, with plenty of company from the Tea Party and the Dems. That leaves a big swath of independent voters, some disgusted progressives, and those disenfranchised moderate Republicans. The only way she can remain relevant in the current political playing field is to make a play for a new base. Much of her base has bailed for Perry. If she can convince people who don't actually know her history that "Sarah makes sense," then she can totally muck up the place. She is SO sure she should be Perry (leading Repub contender) or Obama (President), even though she doesn't want the actual job, that I believe she would mess with the entire Repub party just to make them look bad. With Sarah it is always about enemies.
ReplyDeleteIf she isn't taken down completely, she could easily make a victorious comeback. The scenario plays like this:
ReplyDelete-The books and bad articles keep coming.
-Her credibility is destroyed so she plays the victim card, i.e. Trig has a compromised immune system or she has cancer, so she has to leave the spotlight.
-Since she is desperate for the undulation, she will actually listen to an adviser enough to polish her image, restore her health, and is ready to jump into the spotlight for the 2016 presidential campaign.
to 9:21-
ReplyDeleteThe words were "exploit" and "influence", not "control".
She is "personally responsible" for her choice to exploit her ignorant followers for financial gain, while not coming through for them with the least sense of even exchange.
She absolutely must take personal responsibility for the choices she makes as to what she dishes out as influence. She picks the topics, the tone and the veracity (or lack thereof) and she and she alone is responsible for that.
Unless you are saying that Sarah is just the simpleton puppet some believe her to be, who spews only what someone else tells her to, which, given her low IQ is a possibility, but then where is she displaying her "personal responsibility"in refusing their influence?
Goes 'round and 'round.
9:35PM. It wasn't my post, but Many posters may complain about Joe or others in the comments section. Phil has been pretty awful towards Gryphen. His recent post about Gryphen made me angry, too.

ReplyDelete"One must consider the source when anything is said."
When Sarah owns the information (controlling her narrative by avoiding interviews, debates and only ghostwriting Facebook posts, tweets and Op-Ed's) she can bend it all she wants, to make her appear rich in common-sense and of time tested truthiness. . .
The real Sarah Palin has since stood up from her 'kind' mayoral days (think her sticking her tongue out against her constituents when they've turned their backs on her) and revealed the self-serving ugliness within.
Anon @ 10:20
ReplyDeleteI see, you are one of those that thinks that all like-minded people like Joe McGinnis are supposed to get along all Kumbaya? Yeah, Sarah likes to use that one. . .
There is an old adage, it isn't wise to meet your idols or those that influence you in the celluloid world - they'll only disappoint you on what you project onto them.
Sarah's benefited hugely from projection, they see her push-up bra and capped tooth smile and hear her conservative dog-whistle populist whistle and fail to see she has never walked-the-walk.
You don't have to like Joe McGinnis to appreciate that he is one of the IM that methodically works to dismantle the bogus narrative that has catapulted Calamity Jane into a much undeserved and lucrative spotlight.
It seems really obvious to me that Sarah Palin has been abusing crystal meth for a long time. She doesn't sound like a woman who is passionate about politics, she's constantly ranting and raving incoherently or fear mongering and insulting her latest random target/enemy sounding more like she's jacked up and flying high on meth! During rare moments when Palin isn't ranting like a crazed harpie, her mouth may be closed, but it never stops moving. She's either grinding her teeth or clenching her jaw, there is always noticeable tension. Classic signs of a meth user. I've read numerous articles about Palin the half term Governor of Alaska. The state of her mental health is often over analyzed as well as her behavior. That is a waste of time. Several articles also strongly suggest Wasila, Alaska has an abundance of crystal meth. Since Sarah Palin is a very simple minded person the simplest explanation for her crazed and irratic behavior would be meth addiction. It would also explain her deteriorating appearance over the last few years, her frail body, and her often sweaty complexion as of late. And do I really need to mention the issue with her hair/wigs. Hello Whitney Houston!! Bless her heart, Whitney also had wig issues, too! Different drug addiction of course, but also too hard core. This unflattering photo of Palin featured in this blog post screams "twisted meth addict". We can't ignore the obvious any longer. Palin doesn't have any complex mental problems or psychological disorder. Look at the photo! She's a simpleton and she's twisted from a hard core meth addiction!
ReplyDeleteThis has been noted about Palin since her brief campaign time with McCain. This is an abuser's tactic to instill fear or terror to manipulate and control people. People become vulnerable when emotionally and psychologically manipulated to a state of terror.
ReplyDeleteIt is calculated to turn people against the intended target and manipulate people to side with the abuser/control freak manipulator. Palin is master of this and uses projection delivering a double whammy to her target.
Palin's MO is divide and conquer to win destructively, taking advantage of human weakness, words are her tools and weapons, abuse her supporters, and she is incapable of caring if even her fictional demons are murdered or harassed, threatened or innocent children harmed resulting in her false allegations to gain power and control over people.
I have done years of extensive research, education to understand how this type of personality pulls this off.
It is Pathalogical behavior some call human evil.
I want to add that controlling people to be uneducated is another trait of the personality Palin has. People are to only hear and know what the fear mongering master manipulator tells them. It is a significant factor to constantly project others "lie and make things up" to control people do not independently seek facts.
ReplyDeleteI infrequently visit C4P and have observed the followers eventually tuning out Fox news also. That leaves Sarah as the gospel, all powerful, single truthful Christian.

9:17. For me, a neighbor who has play dates for children or smiles or says hello are not qualifications of leadership.
ReplyDeleteSo the children were used for her personal gain from the beginning?
It makes sense to me now why Palin dragged young children along campaigning as poster mom and poster family. POTUS is not class president, not a pageant, not small town mayor.
Palin blatantly did not bother or care to prepare for the job she sought displaying her shocking ignorance spewing incomprehensible word salad.
Pity she did not learn from her mistake or misjudgments. Palin has focused on ideal perfect family, via SPA, Bristol as "golden child" abstinence, having a special needs child in her possession, still as ignorant and incompetent as back in the day.
She must be delusional given her unwavering path to acquire power limited to looks (resorting to plastic surgeries), poster family (a la Jesus Mary and Joseph).
Today I believe Palin's constant bitching, victim screeches "attacking my kids" in her sick and twisted mind she is delusional her kids are her ticket to power, make her electable, meal ticket etc. Human tragedy IMO

So Sarah' influences teens girls, 20 somethings, middle aged men and the elderly. Who are we to say that's bad. I don't criticize people for liking Bush or Obama, even thought I think they're both worthless leaders.

And to think I have been unfairly blaming Hitler for all these years!!
That was a great article, and a well-needed counterpoint to the one in the NYT. This latest style of fear-mongering isn't going to work. She can't latch on to the more liberal-based fear-mongering phrases because she was such an attack dog for the right previously. That's the way she's perceived, that's her image. She can't undo it now, though she's willing to try because she see's that the big-wigs of the Republican Party have turned their backs on her.
ReplyDeleteShe's flailing around, trying to find some footing to continue her grifting ways. She's melting like the evil witch that she is.
On this 10th Anniversary of 9/11 atrocities, will the grifter show up at AK ceremonies for a photo opp?
ReplyDeleteShe's so patriotic you know.
What a poser!

ReplyDeleteI expected Bristol's lack of acting talent might not be cultivated to be ok for tv. She is photogenic and had good posture on DWTS however she is emotionally flat in performances.
As a parent I don't perceive a non win as failure. Kudos to those who try and risk not succeeding. I do believe persons deserve and need training prior to pursuing goals. Palins....they operate by entitlement so preparing is not for them. Bristol's sense of entitlement was glaring to me in DWTS and entitlement someone else carry the load.
wasilla sounds like Jonestown.
ReplyDeleteDead on Gryph! You're one of best when it comes to exposing this crazy woman and I come here several times a day - and I have no doubt palin does as well. She has become yesterday's news in many ways although that doesn't eliminate her threat. She will NEVER win any election again due to her own self destruction. Which I thank her for - for showing us who she is and allowing us so many opportunities to prove her ignorance, lies and mental health challenges. And most of all I thank you for your diligence and humor in exposing her in so many ways on a daily basis.
ReplyDeleteEXCELLENT POST! And you're commentary is spot on. Gryphen, you know you're doing good posts when the bots and another blogger show up in your comment section.
ReplyDeleteFear Mongering reached it's most destructive effect in America when Bush/Cheyney sold an unjust war using fear as currency. The GOP was and is hellbent on destroying the Public Education system, first rooted when Bush ushered the "Faith Based initiatives" program which evolved into the voucher program including funding religious schools and charter schools. No Child Left Behind, left all chidren left behind. They're slashing "head start" programs and pushing merit based pay for teachers based on performance and testing scores.
Palin has used this to her advantage. There are HUGE pockets in the states that work on the wasilla model, many evangelical churches, undereducated, one issue voters, and people who exploit homeschooling as an excuse to avoid teaching their children while getting funding. Death Panels, targets, reload, Granny being "Shovel Ready", Socialism, anything that fuels the fire, she'll stoop to any level. She's the embodiment of everything she professes to believe.
Someone used the term "Evil", and That sums it up in one word.
OT Anyone else see the commercials still playing on TLC and other cable shows for "The Undefeated"? Anyone know what that's about? Could it be they got a deal to air it on TLC?
