New hope for Sarah Palin.

Andrew Sullivan had a rather interesting epiphany about Palin based on her speech September 3rd:

She's positioning herself against the corruption of both parties, just as she positioned herself in Alaska as the hockey mom prepared to take on her own party elites' collusion with Big Oil. Alas, her efforts in Alaska soon unraveled, even after she was able to tax the oil companies and deliver the goodies directly to Alaska voters. Her gas pipeline is as distant a prospect as ever. And when one reviews her career, it's hard to resist noting that her populism (combined with extreme Christianism) was the only way she could see making it to the top - especially after the Murkowskis dissed her. Opportunism or principle? It could be both, but with Palin, one should never under-estimate the former. She's shrewder as a politician than some understand.

I wonder if she's contemplating a populist third party campaign.

Now the idea of Palin running on a third party ticket is not something that I have seriously considered in quite some time, due to the waning influence of the Teabaggers and her erratic self destructive behaviors.  But I have to say that the idea DOES have merit.

As much as I personally dislike Palin, one does have to admit that she has a HUGE presence in this country.  And clearly that presence, simply cannot be contained by the Republican party.

The GOP might flirt with the Tea Party, and ply them with drinks until their slutty side comes out, but lets face it after the Republicans have had their way with the Constitutionally illiterate cuckoo-birds they will slip out under the cover of darkness, MAYBE leave a couple of bucks on the dresser for cab fare, and NEVER call them again.

Sarah knows what this behavior is like, she lives with Todd, so undoubtedly she does not expect much from the Republicans in the long run. So why not strike while the Grand Old Party is at its weakest, strip away their most ardent new freshmen Congress members (Who are all Constitution masturbating flag pin wearing Tea Party members anyhow), and start her own third party?

She could EASILY seduce inspire the tri-corner hat wearing fringe into supporting her.

Oh yeah! That's the stuff!
And right now wherever they go a number of disillusioned Republicans are sure to follow.

Soon she could have a poorly organized bunch of horny, undereducated, politically inept, individuals ready and willing to start knocking on doors and putting up signs for this vibrant new party that could turn the world of American politics right on its....well...on its side anyhow. (Okay well maybe not ALL of the way on its side, but it certainly could tip it a bit.)

And how easy would it be to find just the right people to recruit for this new party? All Palin would have to do is kick out anybody who dared to use their Yale/Harvard/Driving School educated logic to solve problems or come up with policy decisions, and only keep those willing to rely solely on common sense and the fire in their bellies to clumsily attack the complex problems facing our country.

Palin could finally be Palin, with no more "advisers" telling her what to say or wear on her head, and she could even go back to writing her own Facebook posts and Tweets to get her message out to the people.

Remember what an effective communicator she was BEFORE they tried to changer her?

Wrapped up Anch Gov's Picnic, awesome. Now road trip to Fairbanks for farewell speech/changing of the guard. Camper full of kids & coffee...

W/kids in camper;on World's Best Rd Trip!To soar by Mt.McKinley&rushing rivers,we remember all of AK is BIG/WILD/GOOD LIFE;feel freedom here

Pure magic!

I know I have not always been one to support Palin in her political aspirations, but I think that THIS idea of branching out on her own, and taking as many of the disgruntled Republicans with her as possible, is the right thing to do for this country. I mean it just feels right, don't you think?

And I have so much confidence in this idea of starting a third political party that I am willing to do MY part as well.  I pledge to attack and ridicule the idea as aggressively as possible, insuring that the Right Wing will take it seriously and flock over to help defend it against unscrupulous attacks from the Left Wing (that would be me), and aggressive questioning from the "Lamestream" media (That might be me sometimes as well).

Soon the money will start flowing in from Koch brothers grasroots fundraising and the "Mama Grizzly's Tea Party of Constitutional Freedom Loving Americans" will be ready to begin to let its high pitched voice be heard.

As much as I am positive that this will have a disastrous effect on the reelection of Barack Obama (Oh God! What am I doing?), I feel as a patriotic, though unfortunately liberal leaning, American that I MUST support the common sense idea of splitting an existing party in two in order to better defeat their common foe. After all when has that approach NOT worked?

So Ms. Palin as much as it hurts me to support such a danger to our Socialist agenda, I urge you for the sake of this great country to take on BOTH political parties and get this country back to the "time honored truths" that continue to elude you, and start that third political party.

God's speed Sarah Louise Heath Palin, and may you continue to have the same level of success with THIS project as you have enjoyed with every other project branded with the name Sarah Palin.

Game on!

With everything we know about this egomaniac, it would be perfectly consistent for her to try a third party run. Would serve them all right.

Be careful what you wish for, bastards.

She doesn't have the guts to buck whoever has been pulling her corporate puppet strings. No way she branches out on her own to run a third party race. That's not what her bosses want, as far as I know. Unless her bosses turned out to be Democrats, lol.

I've thought all along that that was her plan. Running a primary is hard, much harder than declaring yourself a party of one...Plus, easier grifting!!! And if Romney is the nominee, I can DEFINITELY see her doing this...She might even get, like 10-20 percent of the vote...If Romney is the nominee. If Rick Perry is the nominee -- and it's looking more and more like he won't be -- she may try to be No. 2. Which is great. Because then that will totally doom his nomination, too...

So, Sarah, if you're reading this, I just want to emphasize...Starting your own party is a GREAT way to grift. There'll be MUCH less scrutiny of expenses...

what you see here is the realization by palin that she has no power in the republican party.
(as i have been saying all along).

so she needs to find a position OUTSIDE of the party to have any relavence.

i predicted she would not run and would use her OWN party as the excuse of having abandoned her and republican positions.

she needs to do this to maintain any power of barter with her supporters.

    now..will it work?
i dont see it coming to much because she appeals only to the far right and will never appeal to anyone but already republican voters.

and FORGET a 3rd party run.
ailes fox news etc would NEVER allow a weakening of the party that way though palin may be mad enough to believe she could do it to get even with trhem.

fox news would break the fake pregnancy story and many others the same day palin the mad would announce a 3rd party run to destroy her.

think she wants to go through that?

    Only if, right? lol.

Actually, she should have gone in that direction after the failed McCain campaign. Remember? That's when she hated the GOP, and claimed she was going "rogue" on them. Then she gave that speech about how the teabaggers should "pick a party." That's when the GOP told her to tone down her rhetoric. I'm sure it went something like this:

"Sarah honey, we don't want to advertise to the world that teabaggers are already part of our base. We want to use them as a tool to attack the administration, and get lots of camera time. So let them call themselves the tea party, and you can be their symbolic queen. CNN isn't going to cover them if they know it's just a bunch of republican sour grapes who lost to Obama. We need to play up the independent thing."

    Sarah: "Okey Dokey."

  23. Never underestimate what the crazy lady might do. As I said in a comment on the previous Sarah thread, Sarah has a history of positioning herself between the mainstream political parties as a populist alternative. That's how she got elected governor of Alaska. She is vindictive enough to consider the ENTIRE political establishment as her enemy. Her enemies list has always been much longer than her friends list. She could do an extended third party tease just to flip off the establishment and stoke her populist base. She could even take back some of the dumbass tea baggers who bailed for Perry if she can convince their dumb little pea brains that she is both anti-corp and pro-small-government. We KNOW she doesn't want the job, but there's no way that narcissistic ego the size of Jupiter will take "irrelevant" lying down.

A quick look at Wikipedia entries for Nadar and Perot shows that they didn't enter the race until late. This would be Sarah's only ticket to string entering the race out as long as possible and avoiding debates. Of course, it means we have to hear "will she or won't she?" for a long time, still. As Charlie Brown would say, arrrgh!

  27. Anonymous6:16 AM

No way she could mount a 3rd party campaign. Getting on the ballot as anything except a Republican or Democrat requires a much more savvy organizing effort than a simple Presidential campaign. She hasn't put the latter together so the likelihood that she could pull off the former is right down there with the likelihood that I have the winning Powerball ticket.

I think she might do this, but not because she realistically wants to win. That is almost impossible, and she is too lazy to do it. She knows that if Mittens gets the nomination, there are a ton of evangelicals who will NEVER vote for him. Enter 3rd Party Sarah, and suddenly the vote is split, paving the way for an Obama landslide. Sarah will have the GOP by the balls...they already paid her massive legal bills for some reason, I wonder what they would do for her to make her go away this time? Pay her off? Promise her a position in a future administration?

She has nothing to lose in announcing a run. Her detractors will continue looking like heartless, petty morons and she will be empathized with. Look at how many liars have come out of the Alaskan word work already. Presidential campaigns brings out even more crazies.

    ReplyDelete
  32. First of all she probably doesn't even understand what her speech writers put down on paper for her to read, she just reads it.

But if she is contemplating such a run,its got a different motive. She cannot give up the money,so the only way she goes third party is if she does it long enough to get someone (Koch brothers?) to pay her off to quit.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Anonymous6:34 AM

Duh. She has been positioning herself as a populist. third party, not with the rest of them candidate for many months. She is going for the "independent" voter and hoping for at least a run as VP. If they (repubs) see her as a true threat, they will add her to their ticket.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Anonymous6:36 AM

She will never run again for anything because she will eventually have to release:
    1. her college diploma
    2. Trig's birth certificate
    3. her tax returns (showing her legal dependents)
    4. her health records.

The press won't let her get away twice with the doctor's letter stunt she pulled last time. She's over.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Excellent post! Love the sarcasm :-)

However, I truly believe that Sarah will run on the GOP ticket. I think she thinks that she has to run because God told her to.
I think her strategy is to wait until the very last minute to announce her candidacy. By delaying she misses a lot of public vetting. She is not required to participate in any debates and Perry, Romney, and Bachmann, and the others are tearing each other apart. We are talking about Sarah but THEY are not. Then, just when no one looks attractive to the GOP voters Sarah will walk in as a dark horse candidate. It will be left to the last (wo)man standing (Romney?) to take her down as all the others will be gone by that point.

Very interesting comments from our friend Anon238, in the Broomfield post.

Something that I have been contemplating for a while now. It seems to me that Sarah is long past her ability to make decisions - she is being totally controlled by Todd. He is handling her totally.

Anon238 has made some revelations that suggest this. In her anorexic/bulemic state, under a drug induced haze - it is really Todd that is pulling the strings.

She can still screech one out, but the woman is failing fast and Todd just won't have it.

She is grandiose and believes she is an American original who can prevail on her own without the help of normal backers and channels, or basic grassroots organization.

    She couldn't be more mistaken.

Great post Gryphen!!! If Palin gets anywhere near a third-party candidacy, i think you will see all the Republican operatives who know there's something fishy about some of her tall tales--like the pregnancy and birth of Trig---start leaking what they know en masse. Palin will finally get the "thrown under the bus" treatment.

And btw, Gryphen, i was one of the skeptics last week about the race. You have asked for posters who doubted the race was staged to explain their posts--I don't think i ever said a staging was not possible. I was merely cautioning that some of the behaviors people say as too weird--like running on the grass around walkers, wearing a heavy tshirt, or even finishing at a good time for her age group--did not mean she didn't run the race. The picture was weird but weird pictures do sometimes happen. In any case, what i feared was that racers would come forward who were with Palin in the race--people without ties to her---and that an overly rapid response denouncing her race as another hoax would impinge on overall credibility, including the excellent work on debunking the pregnancy myth. That was my point. I've since considered that there is much much wrong with her race story as told. Something is very fishy with it and i apologize if my skepticism--in protection of the other more documented work--contributed to your apologizing for thinking ill of Sarah in that one moment. Apologies to Sarah were not necessary.

I have always felt that SP would need to stage a third party run in order to satisfy her quickly shrinking core support. She needs to in order to stay just relevant enough to keep the coffers full. A third party run would effectively keep her name out there, she could essentially avoid the debates, she likely wouldn't have to succumb to the same level of vetting/scrutiny as the major candidates but she'd still be in the race. Obviously she wouldn't stand the remotest chance to win which is a given but also good news for her. Following the Obama victory (which would likely happen especially since she could conceivably siphon off 2-3 percent of the vote...just enough to put Obama over the top in a squeaker election) she could run that gravy train for a 2016 run and keep SarahPac going. Brilliant strategy!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Anonymous7:54 AM

The Establishment GOP got tired of Sarah's tease and told her not to run. The polls (not the poles) show that 71% of Republicans don't want Sarah to run. If she doesn't run, then they will have won. And, Sarah can't stand losing. So, she continues to tease, hoping that the next crowd will be bigger or that something she says will generate media attention.

Dealing with Sarah is like dealing with a teenager. If you tell the teen not to hang around with a certain crowd or date someone who has a bad reputation, that is the most certain sure fire way of making the teen go with that group or date that person. Tell them they can't, and they will rebel.

That's Sarah. The GOP is telling Sarah "no" and she is acting out, just like a rebellious teen. We should be encouraging Sarah to run as a third party candidate. The last time that someone did that, Ross Perot, Clinton won. Perot had many millions to spend on his campaign. Palin doesn't have Perot kind of money, nor will she spend any of her own money on a campaign. Her donations are low, compared to the other candidates. She may have some silent backers, but they can't help her organize and do what's necessary to get on the ballot. There are still rules about those things.

At best, Palin will steal some of the Tea Party votes for herself, but that's not enough to win a presidential election. The Republicans seem to want the most conservation, religious, right wing candidate in their midst, a Palin rival.

So, let's encourage Sarah to run. The blogs can't exist without her to kick around. We can't wait to get a look at her financial and medical records. If she campaigns with Trig, we'll bribe a hotel made for a DNA sample from the waste basket. Sarah can't show up in the Big Hair Reality TV show any more than Donald Trump could have had his show and run for president. We'll apply the same logic to Bristol. That will piss her off, too. Come on, Sarah, run. Hillary put in ten million of her own money in 2008. Let's get Sarah to do the same thing. Run, Sarah, Run!

  62. Sarah's new rhetoric -- attacking the Capitalistic Cronies-- is pure middle school invective. They DUMPED her, and she's pissed as hell. I'll show you, is what her new shit is about.

I'd love to know who's still on the bus as a backer, handler. Because it's my belief she's run them all off.

There is not a man on this planet who wants to deal with an erratic woman OR who thinks they can manage one, even with powerful drugs. Women are too dangerous.

So what you're seeing is Palin's last card to play, and her only audience left are fat people in lawn chairs.

I've been saying this for almost 2 years now. Palin knows the GOP loathes her, just as much as she loathes them.

She wants,no needs, to be No. 1, the focus of all the attention. Palin play primaries? No way!

Here's my prediction and so far its been heading in that direction, she'll continue to distract and attack her "opponents" in this case the Republican presidential primary candidates. After the GOP Primary, she'll announce her disappointment in whomever is chosen and her "need" to rescue the country and will announce her independent candidacy.

There are two obstacles to this plan. 1. Declaring a candidacy will stop the flow of $'s that she can use without restriction to her SPAC. How will she keep herself in skinny lattes and crunch wraps without it? And 2. She will loose her Fox news gig.

I think Palin knows she can't win. Independent ticket or not. But that isn't her goal. Her goal is remain in the spotlight and be able to rake in the big speech dollars and the adoration of the brain-dead followers of drivel.

Eventually it will all end up with her own radio show or something like it with her touring around selling books, DVD's, t-shirts just like Gingrich with a bumpit and pumps. And continue to pop into the political circus any chance she has to throw a wrench into things. But at least she will provide ceaseless comedy relief.

According to new reports, Bristol got her butt chewed out from her mother after she got a tattoo of the letter “T”. What?!? A source said, “Sarah really laid into Bristol, saying enough is enough. She’d better not read anywhere about Bristol getting anything else tattooed or pierced.” Ha, so Sarah’s upset that Bristol got a tattoo? She’s old enough to do whatever she wants with her body….She had a kid as a teenager, but getting ink is where she draws the line?!?

I am looking forward to the Big Rich episode where the daughter goes to the newspaper and reveals all of her mother's sordid little (Really BIG, actually) secrets, with loads of documentation and photos and witnesses and secretly recorded tapes. That ought to make good viewing for Bristol.

She just might try this. It would be absolutely wonderful for the Democrats if she did mount a third party run. Here is why it may not happen though......money. As you and Sully know what's left of the Palin Bots are mostly uneducated, poor folks. I saw comments on the C4P site that they were scrimping to send donations to Sarah's PAC. Sarah's PAC coffers will begin to dry up soon enough now that the right win folks have Perry and to a lesser extinct Bacchmann to swoon over. The recent thrashings that Palin is getting from the mainstream of the repub party is by design. They realize what a loser she is and want nothing to do with her any more. The only thing that may keep Palin from making a 3rd party run is that she would lose her Fox income and that soon will be her only source of income. I think Roger Ailes has already sold her down the river and he will not hesitate to cut all Fox ties if she mounts such a run that would only serve to diminish the repub chances of winning against Obama. Run Sarah run!!!!!! Democrats who can afford to donate to her campaign should do so.

Sarah Palin is not interested in being POTUS:

    1. She knows that job is too overwhelming for her.

    2. She knows she will never win against President Obama.

    What Sarah Palin really wants:

    1. Secret Service as a nominee one more time.

    2. More than anything she wants the title president nominee which she probably dreams of putting on her tombstone.

    3. She wants to be referred to a President Nominee Sarah Palin.

    4. She wants photo ops with important people as if it legitimizes her.

What Sarah Palin does not want:

    1. She does not want to debate anybody.

    2. She doe not want to sit and explain her policies to anybody on the Sunday news shows unless it is with FOX.

    3. SHE WILL NOT USE HER OWN MONEY TO RUN HER CAMPAIGN IF SHE IS SHORT FUNDS.

    What Sarah Palin really wants:

    1. Just the title and ceremonial position similar to the Queen of England.

    2. Wants to be worshiped by the masses.

The question is where are they going to put their money?

The other question is would they risk billions or a flakey, anorexic, intellectually vacuous, mavericky person who spends more time obsessing about getting revenge for imagined slights that she does about learning and doing her job?

Do you have ADD? This post is manic sounding.

    ----------------------------------------

NO ONE has ADD/ADHD. It's a condition fabricated by Big Pharma to sell more drugs. There is no quantitative medical test for this "condition", nothing in the blood, nothing in the urine can diagnose this "condition". The qualifiers come from mere observation and information on the "patient" passed from parent to doctor. Sort of like a parent saying "Hey doc, my kid looks like he has cancer, can we get him started on chemo"?

There was not a reliable market in the youth sector so Big Pharma fabricated this "condition" so that they could push prescriptions to children and make more money. Modern parents and teachers, many being too busy or lazy to deal with rowdy kids, were more than happy not to have to contend with the rigors of naturally hyperactive youngsters, so when told that there was a "miracle cure" for "naturally rambunctious and unfocused youngsters", they said "hell ya, we'll give 'em drugs".

So no Gryphen doesn't have ADD, no one does.

He does rock and is funny as hell, but that's not ADD, that's just personality.

I think Palin does _want_ to be president. Because she is mentally unstable, her concept of the president's job is unclear. Palin imagines the president's day as something similar to being Governor of Alaska... lots of photo ops, some bill signing and heavy duty work on the autobiography that will skyrocket to the top of the best seller list.

Palin's comprehension of how things work in this world is badly distorted by her mental illness. Without the basic facts rearing their ugly heads, Palin happily proceeds along her merry way without much care about things brighter, saner people fear.

Palin is a sociopath. She will seek adoration until she is stopped.

Palin's puppet masters are evil, ruthless power seekers who use Palin because she is ignorant and controllable (to some degree).

Also, too, there is the draw of easy money that may well fade away if she runs. She is still working for Fox but may not get that gig back, particularly if she takes this down to the wire of declaring. Old Roger has a long memory.

Actually, all her attempts at posing with important people have failed miserably since 2008, because she has only engineered photo ops with people as narcissistic and selfishly power-obsessed as she is.

Rather, it seems like it pleases her most when she is the "important" person relatively unimportant unknown people like to pose with.

For instance, note the smugly brilliant smile she displayed posing with the Storm Lake racers and officials who evidently recognized her or were approached by her to set up her "participation" in the race.

So, 8:57 AM, your last point is ultimately what it's all about.

Whether she runs or not, there is too much at stake in this election. The stakes have rarely been higher. For once in their lives Democrats must stop whining, stick together, present a strong united front and back this president. They can comlain about the president after the election is over. The alternative is unthinkable. If this crop of republicans get back the Whitehouse, they will roll back virtually every progressive victory we have had over the last 100 years. Anon @ 7:49, no problem on the nagging doubts about the race. We all needed to tread carefully, but you can't believe what they are finding in those few photos today. Anomalies galore!

I think most of us are not questioning whether she was there for some part of it or not, because she obviously was - we are questioning if she ran that 1/2 marathon leg, in total, all by herself.

I completely agree with your point about the GOP having the most goods on this woman, and I do think she knows that. That's the part that is up in the air on this third party run idea, for me.

I think they may tolerate her enough to let her spout their lame out-of-date talking points on FOX and to fire up that tiny sliver or weirdos she calls her base - and let her earn her $$$, most importantly - but they have her backed into a corner where they can control her because they could probably destroy her political career in the course of one week, if they wanted. And I think it's quite possible they will do that at some point - with help from all of us. Unholy alliance, height of irony, but I don't care. She needs to be swept out of American politics and government.

Sarah will not run on any ticket because:
    1. She knows that the dirty laundry will then be on full display. And there's a lot of it, isn't there Sarah?
    2. She's lazy. She doesn't have the will or the discipline to mount a campaign. Just saying that "I have that fire in my belly" doesn't make it come true. It's called magical thinking, Sarah. Look it up.
    3. She doesn't really want the job. The hours are long, the pay sucks, and you have to read stuff. Lots of stuff. And unlike when Sarah was mayor of Wasilla, she wouldn't be able to hire a manager to run the country for her.

So I am clearly in the "she's not running" camp. The only question is, what excuse will she use? Your cult is expecting the sarapture to happen on Saturday, Sarah. Waiting isn't going to make it easier. Just get it over with already.

9:36, I agree with a lot of this. I don't think she will run, I don't know why specifically. I just know that anyone who really says 'game on' but doesn't join the game, or says she has 'fire in my belly' but stays indecisive day after day and week after week, is not running. Bi-polar disorder is a possibility...or she could just have mean bitch genes...but whatever it is, it doesn't prevent her from seeming physically healthy--Gryphen, you can't tell me the picture at the top of your post shows a frail person, and whether or not she actually ran the 1/2-marathon, she looked physically healthy doing it.
But I think you're right about her lacking basic emotional stamina for the long haul of a campaign.

But we're talking about a STANDARD campaign. I'm not past believing that she plans to wait for her Fox contract to expire before 'jumping in.' Next March? Then she (meaning her writers) begins a major FB and Tweet campaign with occasional short, intense, and sexed-up bus trips. Things like the rolling thunder bike ride, or the speech and run in Iowa. Then she goes home, releases a video of the trip and FBs some more. No debates. Tightly controlled interviews. The rest of the time she's out of sight being prepped physically and emotionally, including lithium or whatever medication, for the next foray.

What could Roger do even with a long memory?

He's the one that added the "water broke" stuff that Sarah told him to shut him up about staying at the Texas meeting. He's a loose cannon, but why?
My take on her running is, whether she announces or not, she's already got a story for why she can't continue on with the campaign, besides, she met with Roger (Fox) Ayles in NY for a reason & remember her 2nd to the last Tea Party gig she just did, the organizer was quoted as saying "I know for a fact she isn't running but we like her." Not an exact quote but the same meaning.

I will no longer bemock, disparage, ridicule, infestulate (I dont know what that is, but it sounds like something I should stop doing, if I'm doing it now), insult, dismiss, harangue, rant against, belittle, uncontemptuate (again, not really so much an actual word, but still, I vow not to do it with respect to The Grisly Momma), revile, abuse or vilify Granny Lulu. And if she is going to form a third-party of pychotic pseudo-patriots and socially awkward, sexually confused middle-aged men, I say, let's wait and see what their platform and ideas are before we judge them harshly.

Thanks, Gryphen for helping me see the Grifting Granny in a whole new light!
    =================================
Oh boy.... this is embarrassing.... Gryphen, after I hit PUBLISH for that very mature, almost magnanimous comment about joining you in supporting The Screechy Wretch's political aspirations in possibly forming a third - or perhaps fourth, fifth or even sixth major American political party - I looked at the calendar and discovered to my chagrin that Halloween is fast approaching and I've already committed to attending a costume party dressed as Tawd. (snowmobile suit sprinkled liberally with hooker dust) So I cant really fulfill my pledge not to disparage her.... How about this: could leave this an open-ended commitment? You know, log me in as committed to "someday" ceasing to insult her? I'm sure I can eventually do it. But.... now just isnt a good time.... Thanks for understanding.

@9:23 You have been watching Fox TV too long. I have been teaching kids long enough to recognize kids with attention problems These are not rowdy kids. These kids are not wired the same way as most of us. I have seen the mother rush in with medication that the kid forgot to take in the morning. Within 20 minutes, there is change in the kid. He can understand what he read and participate in class, where he couldn't earlier in the day.

I have also seen the kid when the medication wears off. The best description is a monkey bouncing off the walls. One child grunts and makes sounds like a wounded puppy. These are extreme cases.

I have seen kids who simply cannot focus enough attention to read a short essay, let alone the assigned book. To compensate, they act out, sometimes as the class clown. Others develop people skills, and while they cannot read a book, they can read people and tell them exactly what they need to hear. They cannot remember five things, but they remember who called them a bad name years ago.

I suggest that you read Steve Schmidt's description of a manic Sarah would could not study for the most important TV appearance of the 2008 campaign, her debate. There are some serious mental health issues there.

And, please don't be so quick to write off a bunch of kids who are able to get by in school because of medication. Years ago, without insulin, diabetics would have died. Before antibiotics, if you got a serious infection, you could die. Chemotherapy does kill cancer cells. Medication lowers cholesterol or blood pressure.

I've read several articles about the rhetoric used in the Sept. 3rd speech. Interestingly, it's more leftist rhetoric than conservative rhetoric. But it's wildly inaccurate, according to her own record. When she says "cronyism" she is referring to the Presdient's appointment of advisers who are qualified in the field they have been appointed to. While she, on the other hand, appointed childhood friends to posts they had no background in.

Someone wrote the speech for her. She probably doesn't even know they co-opted leftist rhetorical devices.

Have to agree with 6:39. The good 'ole, seemingly mild-mannered Todd in his worn jeans, plaid shirt, and baseball cap standing seemingly meekly and quietly behind her in public is merely a facade. He's definitely a major handler and likely a huge part of the small brain trust that swirls around her, concepts next steps, covers her many failings and authors the fear mongering drivel she consistently spews. He was 'co-mayor' and 'co-governor' and is, IMHO, absolutely pivotal when it comes to her political future at this time. This co-dependency when it comes to public office appears to be a long-standing model for them. I wonder just how they believe they would continue at a national level? She definitely is a tool, a sharp one, but still a tool and incapable on her own. Is it becoming easier for him now that she appears to be so frequently highly medicated? Can she be manipulated easier? Honestly, often (especially recently) appears to be many similarities with the whole, sad Anna Nicole scenario. A finer lens need to be placed on this guy as he plays this twisted game and joins her in laughing all the way to bank.

Let me humbly remind everyone that I have been predicting Palin as a third (or is that TURD) party candidate for months. Bachmann is just about finished and Perry, while he's makin' noise right now, is not going to be the nominee. That means that the GOP candidate for POTUS is likely to be a Mormon. Ergo, the batshit crazy, holier than thou counsin humpin' teabagger buffoons won't be voting GOP. That means they stay home or draft someone to run as a third party candidate.

As stupid as Bachmann, Perry, and even Santorum are, I'm not sure any of the three would abandon the GOP for a 3rd party run. If they did so, they would be finished in the GOP and they all are sentient enough to realize that.

Palin, however, is another matter altogether. She is NOT sentient, so she would gladly bite the hand that has fed her. Shit, she'd run as the AIP candidate if she thought she could get away with it.

When Bachmann and Perry are no longer in the mix, Palin will once again be the darling of the fundies. They may be lukewarm about her now, but when she is the ONLY batshit crazy candidate left, they'll once again be having wet dreams about their former pinup girl.

Palin is a fucking moron and so are the people who follow/followed her. They ain't suddenly going to become sane just because their favorite candidate loses. Remember, these are the same people who can't stand the thought of losing or compromise.

Come to think of it, just like Palin, they don't seem to like thinking too much about anything.

    Palin is their perfect candidate.

    Run, you ignorant bitch, run!

Please don't run, Sarah. We shudder to think about all you could do with all that power. You would make EVERYBODY pay! Who would your VP be? Some other anti-government renegade?

What if she DOES enter the NY marathon and shows all those big city liberal elites how to WIN - yikes!

And then announce that she's running for the White House, in the name of all the regular people who want you to!

We'll be in trouble then, big trouble.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Anonymous12:05 PM

I agree with Alaska pollster Ivan Moore, who said a few months ago that the last thing Palin wants is to WIN the presidency. Merely running would accomplish all she needs--to stay in the public eye, revive her speaking career, upgrade from former vice presidential to former presidential candidate, etc.

A third-party candidacy solves some big problems for her right now. If she doesn't run on a GOP ticket, even her most faithful acolytes at C4P say she's done. The money and fame will dry up. If she does run, she guarantees further humiliation and a public trouncing.

By going third-party, she can continue pretending to be an "outsider," and I wouldn't underestimate the appeal of someone trashing both parties. Plenty of liberals and independents hate the system now, too. When she loses, she can blame the MSM and the establishment because it will confirm what we already know--there is a political/money machine running things. Even if she loses her Fox gig now, she may be more appealing to re-hire later so they can shore up their fake "fair and balanced" motto.

If she wrecks the GOP's chances, oh well. Ralph Nader had a big effect in 2000 and the tragic results didn't seem to bother him much.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Anonymous12:22 PM

No way she is even considering running at this point. She no longer even pretending. With Rick Perry in, the tease no longer works. Fox is now turning on her.

She needs to find some way to make a living besides her and Todd actually getting jobs. Those nannies don't pay for themselves.

Palin doesn't realize that her "Drill Baby, Drill" or "here and now" is lost on some of us who live in oil producing states that have been drilling long before she was born. it's a way of life--never lacking in exploration, discovering and drilling. Palin can try to pull the wool over everyone's eyes but the oil business in other states is very robust. Her chants are like water off a duck's back, and if anything, it just makes us more competitive with AK and new drilling, pipelines, etc.

Does Palin think Big Oil will back her with money after taxing them? Tx oil won't back her.

    Re: ADD - ADDH

A large study just published in Pediatrics shows that a major cause of ADDH seems to be pesticides used on our food. There are probably other reasons for ADD/ADDH such as perinatal brain damage, and perhaps some of it is genetic. But..

Children excreting the highest amounts of by-products of the neurotoxins used in pesticides also had the highest levels of ADD/ADDH.

These levels quickly return to normal (in a matter of days) when organic food is given to the kids, but once the damage is done, it's hard to undo it, except temporarily with amphetamine-type drugs such as ritalin that help what's left of the brain work overtime.

Moral: buy organic, the hippies were right!

I'd like to see a papertrail of how all that money is/will be spent and who receives it in the end. The Bridge to Nowhere. The Pipeline That Will Never Be Built.

The other part of this equation is that after she milks the PAC until Nov. 2012, and hands Obama the election, she knows that she can continue her "speaking engagements" as the "also ran" for at least 4 more years. I think this is not only possible, but entirely likely. She knows darn well that if she doesn't enter this race the money tit dries up. She knows she'll get nothing out of the Republican coffers. She'll pull a John Anderson or a Ralph Nader and laugh all the way to the bank for the next 6 years.

Here's the down-and-dirty summary of Alaska presidential candidate guidance.

    > Sarah is an Alaska resident, as far as anyone can guess.

    > Alaska does not conduct a Primary Election for presidential candidates, nor does it provide access to a primary ballot.

    > Candidates for President and Vice President are only on Alaska's General Election ballot.

    > Four ways for candidates to access Alaska's ballot.

    1. Typical political party nomination by the National Committee, according to party by-laws.
Alaska ballot deadline: the 48th day prior to the November General Election.

    2. Forming a limited political party, organized specifically for the purpose of selecting President/Vice President candidates for the ballot.
By Alaska statute, a petition is submitted to the Division of Elections with at least 3,273 signatures of qualified voters (1% of 2008 voters).
Deadline: 90 days before a Presidential General Election.

    3. Independent candidate.
A petition is submitted to the Division of Elections that states that the signers desire the named candidate for President of the United States to appear on the ballot as an independent candidate.
    Required bits:
    - 3,273 signatures of qualified voters (1% of 2008 voters).
    - names of the electors for the independent candidate, equal to the number of senators and representatives to which the state is entitled in Congress [This would be 3]. Due Sept. 1, 2012.
    - the name of a candidate for Vice-President, selected by the independent candidate. Due Sept. 1, 2012.
    - the name, Alaska mailing address, and signature of the candidate's state campaign chair, who must be an Alaska resident. Due Sept. 1, 2012.
Deadline: No earlier than January 1, 2012 and no later than 90 days before a Presidential General Election.

    4. "Write-in" candidate.
Letter of Intent form, due November 1, 2012.

    Alaska dates: http://www.elections.alaska.gov/doc/forms/H02.pdf

She's got plenty of time and only needs 3,273 qualified voters to sign her petition. But it has to be _Alaskans_, the Tea Party and fan clubs can't help here. The Wasilla "metro" area had 10,500 voters in 2008. So she can do it.
