In Lynchburg, Virginia Sarah Palin dismisses her supporter's feelings of betrayal at news she is not running for President.

From the Meet Sarah Palin blog:

The appearance was among Palin’s first public appearances after announcing Wednesday her decision not to run for president. Palin referenced that decision just once in her speech, when she described disappointment with the contingent of supporters who voiced outrage over the decision.

“They got mad and they would send some pretty mean emails and messages, and I thought ‘Oh come on, you’re going to trust me to be the leader of the free world but you don’t trust me to make the decision that God led me to make at this time,” she said.

“It was prayerful consideration. It was prayerful.”

So now instead of blaming her children for her decision not to run, she is now blaming God?

And to my mind it almost sounds like she is mocking her supporters for trusting her to "be the leader of the free world." Damn THAT is harsh!

Wow! I am rarely surprised at how callously Palin treats the people who have supported her once she is finished with them, but I have to admit that her casual dismissal of the people who have been anxiously waiting for her to announce, and sending her their hard earned money to help convince her, is pretty damn cold.

However it is virtually impossible to have too much sympathy for them at this point.

After all Palin is horribly unqualified for the job of President and demonstrated repeatedly that she was only delaying her announcement in order to keep making money. These sad little people simply refused to acknowledge what their own eyes should have been telling them all along.

Welcome to reality based world Palin-bots.

Sarah, you keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Everyone here at IM knew this would happen. She used them, took their money, and now they're "under the bus".

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of people.

So now Palin is claiming that GOD directed her to loot and pillage her moronic followers?

“It was prayerful consideration. It was prayerful.”

What a lying sack of shit that arrogant, ignorant bitch is.

However, I do believe that her little prick tease Grift-a-thon that she ran on brainless sycophants pretty much ended any fleeting chance she still had at any sort of political career, either in an elected capacity or as talking head.

For THAT we can be truly thankful.

sarah has their money; and she's going to keep it.

And she's NOT going to pay any taxes on it either. It's HER money, and she'll spend it any way SHE wants; until the FEC and the IRS tell her she can't. (like that's going to matter to her).

Yeah right, I'm sure the GOP is going to be beating a path to your door to ask for tips on political strategy.

But keep sending in those dollars, little palinbots. Your queen needs some new wigs, and all the illegal Alaska PFD checks she gets aren't enough to keep her living the lifestyle she has become accustomed to.

    Socialism/Taxing Corporations-Huge taxes on Oil Companies to be redistributed to everyone;

Healthcare-Her entire family receives free, government paid healthcare.

She might as well say, ¨If you don´t like my decision, then you don´t like the Lord. I prayed in the name of Jesus to our Heavenly Father, so there. My decision is not to be questioned. When you question me, you question the Lord. When you stop believing what I say, you stop believing in the Lord.¨

Palinbots, that fellowship and presence you feel is real. But the Lord is not the one who is with you. He never was.

    It is someone else.

    And he is still there.

Palin is heartless and what is really pathetic is that they are still wanting her to run. Some people never learn.

I noticed in one of her speeches that she gave a shout out to Jake Tapper at ABC News for being a good journalist. Surely ABC would not be stupid enough to hire this airhead. Barbara Walters is very supportive of her too so nothing would surprise me at this point.

Prayerful, eh? Um, I don't think so.

See, Sarah, I think you were looking for that door crack and God saw ya. Yep, he saw ya and yer greedy little mitt squirmin' and jimmyin'; tryin' ta squeeze yerself through. After watching ya wiggle fer months God had had enough. Ya'd used his name, to be a meanie & scam yer minions fer moola. At that point God said: Oh no ya don't! SLAM---right on yer wigglin' little mitt! OUCH. So as payback fer an omnipotent body slap yer now out there amongst the ignorant blamin' God. Keep it up, because he will get ya. All that Golden rule stuff, ya know, also, too. And that's how it went in Sarahland with God speakin' ta her in Sarahspeak.

BTW, Sarah, prayers don't begin with: Dear God, Gimme....

She wasn't dissing us! She was educating us so we understood Gods message more plainly. Nothing wrong with that. This is fact. She's a strong woman with deep roots and faith and not all of her donators understood how much prayer and talkin to God went into her decision.
She met regularly with her prayer warrior group to make sure her decision was right. You godless liberals just don't get Sarah. She's doing this for the country and OUR benefit! She can say more good things about politic decisions and be free in that not running. You will see.

Why her remaining fans don't see that she is not "one of them" is beyond me. She's essentially telling them that god spoke to HER and they should humbly follow her decision. Now that does not sound like someone who is down to earth and "like me". That sounds like someone who has a messiah complex.

It is truly amazing; she plays the God card. For her religious fanatic supporters (a subset, I don't think all of her supporters are Fundies or even Christian) that is just low. What can they say to that?

Agreed, @ 7:57....you are absolutely correct. Theirs is a bond of evil, one they might not even be aware of in some cases (they believe they are righteous and defending "traditional" American ideals or something). Sometimes evil comes in prosaic little packages with pretty paper and bow.

That photograph oozes anger. She is just consumed with it. As we know, a very powerful historic figure controlled his followers through anger, as well.

She truly felt she was entitled, that she was special. She is just so pissed off that more would ever be expected of her. That's just the game, Sarah, and you can't have the personal life that you do, or the terrible personality and questionable character that you do, and succeed.

There is some justice in the world.

And notice that 'right now' reference. Have to keep grifting, keep those few dim-witted followers left sending in money to support a possible presidential run four years from now. These people are so stupid they really deserve to be taken for every penny. We know that every penny that goes to her stays out of the hands of a viable candidate.

I like to think I know how mean and ego-centered she is, but since I am not like that, I am amazed at how it has taken life in Sarah Palin.

Do you guys remember when MeAgain wrote this:

("You can't mate a woman and a gargoyle". You wouldn't believe some of the stuff she says!)

Now I really would LOVE to know what SP REALLY said about her supporters.

And let's not forget the BEST thing:

The VENOM of her supporters, that HAD been used on the "perceived enemy"/ SP's knowing detractors, is now being used on the REAL ENEMY: Sarah Palin herself.

    "Some pretty mean e-mails", indeed.

    Sarah,

    you ain't seen NOTHIN' yet.

Maybe ya could have a chat with Joe McG, Jesse, et. all, as THEY are WELL-VERSED in SURVIVING your lunatic supporters.

Todd is probably on his way to the Anchorage Costco to CLEAN OUT their VODKA supply.

So it's gonna end in a drunken blackout in your bedroom in Wasilla, Sarah? With Campaign '08 footage of you, the only light, flickering in the dark, smelly cocoon you've created?

It's seems a fitting end for the cockroach that you are.

And this is why I hate her so! Sarah is demeaning her very own supporters who opened their hearts and minds - and most sadly - their wallets to worship her. She clearly doesn't think they have any justification to feel angry or betrayed, or to even give voice to those feelings.

How ludricous she decries getting e-mails expressing their feelings of betrayal. Publicly humiliating them because poor, poor me - they are SO unfair! More heinous than any previous poor me shit she throws out is her dismay that her beloved followers, in their grief, would send e-mails to her when a huge part of her attack apparatus against every one of her "enemies", is vitriolic, hate-filled, threatening, rumor-mongering e-mails she demands to be sent out on her behalf by the very supporters she is bashing now.

In other words, wounded Palin supporters - "How dare you, you have no right to question what I have done!" All you Palinbots - wake up! Your only worth to her is send money and keep your mouths shut because Sarah is GOD and you are nobody!

Meanwhile back at the raunch of seaofpee the really crazy, twisted bots are urging her on so you can be sure the grifting mama need only get out the water bra, flick her tongue and she'll still pull in a couple of hundred grand a quarter. Add in the speaking fees and her other grifting actions and she's home free. My guess is there's about a half million tin foil hate wearing palinbots and she'll play them until someone calls a halt to her - hopefully the FEC or IRS wondering how she's spending that money on personal use. Then it will get interesting.

As an aside, I hope that those of you who are not Christians or religious don't think that Sarah Palin really speaks for Christianity, despite her invitation to speak at this yearly "Christian" event. I consider the Lynchburg/rightwing religious crowd to be the modern day Pharisees - you know, the ones who actually called for Christ's crucifixtion.

Perhaps she used some of that spray paint that men use with their comb-overs to hide her bald spot.

The Repubs will stay as far away from her as possible, but they will secretly enjoy her nasty bashing of the president. She is a pit-bull, lipstick or no.

In the earlier report of her flight to MO, I was disgusted to read of her behaviour towards the flight crew. She seems to have a history of this and it is distressful to anyone who has worked in the service industry which she obviously never did. It is this attitude that puts her in the category of "entitled biotch." Shows her true character. (As if we need any more proof of her ugly shallowness.)

Mrs. Todd Palin constantly claims that "it's not about me."

Au contraire. It is, and always has been, about her.

Example: her response to Greta Van Sustern's question about the death of Steve Jobs. You'll notice that she didn't offer her sympathy to his widow and their children, but launched into a story about Trig and how he "communicates" with his iPad.

In Sarah Palin's world, everything is about Sarah.

They just couldn't see through her. Their loss ($$$) is Sarah's gain. Being a psychopath, OF COURSE, she doesn't care about them or that they're now very, very angry. Means nothing to her.

Most people require 'heroes' of one sort or another for it is much easier to FOLLOW than to LEAD. Religion, politics, and the media are INCREDIBLE tools for turning people into literal zombies.

I have no sympathy for these supporters, either. They chose to ignore the reality that has been staring them pointblank in their faces. People tried repeatedly to tell them what she was really all about, and they responded with vitriol, malice, and ignorance. My lack of sympathy for them does nothing to mitigate or alter the fact that she played them for fools. If she hadn't taken money from them that many couldn't afford to give, and had announced from the start that she wasn't running, then she would have had a small bit of credibility. As it is now, she has destroyed any credibility to the point that she couldn't get voted dogcatcher.

For me, at least, this sort of thing was one of many "come to Jesus" (all implications and puns fully intended) experiences that led me to abandon dominionism. This kind of crisis can become an extremely valuable learning moment in someone's life, if that person is open to it. I hope at least a few so-called "Palinistas" are. ...

Eventually, I also became frustrated at the dominionist-conservative schema because so much of it is counter-intuitive and makes no sense without a comprehensive re-imagining of American history and the Bible. Many of the tenets (eg capitalism is the only biblical economic system; "compassion" is not always good, esp when usurped by the "libs") simply don't compute. So dominionists devote all kinds of time/effort to rewriting history and selectively re-interpreting the Bible in order to provide the background "necessary" for their crazy ideas to make sense. At some point, I realized that any tenet that only makes sense after weeks of explanation/indoctrination doesn't make much sense at all.

  74. Nobody should be surprised at Sarah Palin's behavior. She is a mentally ill narcissist who is excessively preoccupied with issues of personal adequacy, power, prestige and vanity.

A narcissist is controlling, blaming, self-absorbed and intolerant of others’ views. They are often fraudulent, exploitative, deceptive and unscrupulous.

In the case of Palin's treatment of her supporters, as a classic narcissist, she is unaware of others' needs and of the effects of her own behavior on others. Sarah lacks empathy and takes advantage of others to achieve her own needs.

“They got mad and they would send some pretty mean emails and messages, and I thought ‘Oh come on, you’re going to trust me to be the leader of the free world but you don’t trust me to make the decision that God led me to make at this time,” she said.

If her supporters did not walk out of her speech at this point means either that they are a very very polite audience or they are very very stupid and easily manipulated by code words.

It was an insulting thing to say to probably her most ardent supporters. But that's the way it is with extreme narcissists. When they are done with you, they will turn the tables and make you feel like you did the bad, in this case chastizing her supporters for not believing her God reason for quitting on them.

When I pray, I usually listen also. Does Sarah ever shut up long enough to hear God speak or does she chastize God too for not trusting her to make her own decisions/mistakes?

"God, family, and country" are supposed to rally the faithful around her, but in reality, they are just words in a speech to her. When her supporters get angry for her quitting, she tosses these words out to calm the tempest. It's working for her hard core, but the rest are looking deeper and realizing and voicing their recognition, that they've been had.

Perhaps her political career is over. She quit her job as Oil & Gas Commissioner and quit her job as Governor. She quit her job as a candidate for President. Long ago she quit her job as a mother but she is still pretending to be a dedicated mother. Sarah Palin has repeatedly established her inability to do what is best for her children. Those who support Sarah Palin might suggest that it is inappropriate for any one to comment on another mother’s approach to mothering. However most mothers who have abandoned, used, and abused their children don’t travel around the country giving speeches about the sacrifices they have made for their kids. It is the audacity of promoting herself as a great mother that compels me to call her out. It is shameful for Sarah Palin to be allowed to continue to promote herself as the embodiment of motherhood. She is a fraud in so many ways, and promoting herself as a mother, concerned about her children, is an offense that remains intolerable.

Well, it is a very long flight to South Korea, and there were no direct flights out of Dulles last night. Do we know what time her gig concluded last night in VA?

It is now Monday at 3 am in Seoul. For her to get there from Lynchburg, VA, she would have had to hustle to get on a private jet to JFK or to ATL. Then it is a 14-15 hour flight to Seoul. And I hope she got no courtesy from TSA or customs. She should have to stand in line like every other hockey mom.

Would be really hard to get to Seoul from Lynchburg and she had no time to spare. There are private jet options but it would be hugely expensive to travel from the US to Seoul on a private jet.

Really hope that we get some video. Should be fun. She will be exhausted, hung over, mad as hell, frightened to be on a stage with the likes of Larry Summers, upset to be among the Asian people, out of touch with her blogs and staff. Love the thought.

Gryphen, Palin is now getting out and proving what a phony she really is. So vicious, vindictive, and how very little she cares about anyone else but herself. She is extremely slick and manipulative, and she realizes she has to keep the money flowing into her PAC.

While she thinks she can use family, and now even God, as her excuses for quitting her campaign to run for POTUS, she still seems to think that the people of America are so dumb, that they actually will now believe her and continue to send her their hard-earned money. She is truly the lowest of the low, only out for the bucks, while hoping no one will ever pay attention to all her baggage anymore. By not running for POTUS, she seems to think this will end all the facts coming out about her. Things were really heating up lately, and how much power does she really have to keep silencing the people in Alaska and Wasilla? Is she really that powerful, or does she really just think she is?

Bullies are cowards, dumb, ignorant, mean and vindictive, and think they can push people around. They use money and power to intimidate, and distract people from seeing what they are really all about.

Actually (in line with Ms. Cox's polite observation that the woman is likely lazy) it was Mooselini's accent that first tip'd me off that she wasn't at all what she proclaimed herself to be, and that she was basically a media-darling fraud.

Setting aside the fact that she compressed four years of college into 5 or 6, and, setting aside that she muddled through several communications courses at several, err, different places of alleged higher education until getting awarded a degree in communications, I knew that--just from her touting herself as an experienced TV reporter, or news reader, or whatever it was that she did for a while--she had escaped any actual education from any credible university's communications program, because that accent would have been trained away in any credible program."

It was pretty clear she was telling them she wanted to run. They encouraged her, supported her, sacrificed money for her to run and would have done anything for her.

Now, because some are mad at her and sending angry e-mails because she's chosen not to run, she's mocking them to 10,000 women? While she's being paid an outrageous amount of money?

The woman is cold, thankless, hearless, and has no conscience.

And to make it seem that her decision was based on feeling God didn't want her to. Well, God is not in the business of asking his children to tease and scam their followers. Why would He then ask Sarah not to run after all they did for her? They are JUST as important as Sarah is. When did Rebecca Mansour get thrown under that big ol' bus?

According former Palinite John Ziegler, Rebecca Mansour told him on the day Palin resigned as governor that she also knew a 2012 run was a non-starter <
    http://dailycaller.com/2011/06/24/an-update-on-my-100000-palin-bet/ >

My thinking is that Palin truly believed she could run and win. She truly believed that she could run an 'unconventional' campaign, with no campaign infrastructure. Let's face it, she was brought into the 2008 McCain too late to see the years of ground work his team had done to get him the nomination, so as far as her experience went, running a presidential campaign was *easy*.
I'm convinced that when Bristol said that Palin had made a decision, the decision was in fact YES.

I wonder who in the Palin camp finally convinced Sarah with the 'you don't need a title' and 'you don't want to be shackled' lines?

  143. From a report on her latest screech:

"Palin’s 90-minute speech veered from stories about moose hunting to Tea Party politics to the challenge of raising a son with Down syndrome. ... Palin shared intimate details of her life, including the pain of experiencing two miscarriages and the fear she felt upon learning she was pregnant with a son with Down syndrome. Today, her son Trig is a source of joy for Palin’s family with an 'obvious appetite for life.'" http://www2.newsadvance.com/news/2011/oct/08/3/palin-says-its-time-reload-america-ar-1369571/

She's still in the news and still making money off of her faked pregnancy story and her prop baby.

When, oh when, will the truth be told...?

Screechy Payme thought she could fake a campaign for President--with a silly bus tour, crashing other candidates parties, and a stupid video--as easily as she faked a pregnancy with Trig--with pillows and scarves, on the cheap. That way she could keep all that pretty Pac money for herself.

    From the link here:

"The goal for my kids is to allow as much normalcy in their lives as we possibly can," said Palin.

Yeah, right. That's why you filmed them in a reality TV show, sent your daughter off to "DWTS" and now your grandkid is appearing in another reality show.

  149. Sharon - That short clip of Palin's speech left me gobsmacked. She said, 'When I was the governor and I gave birth to Trig, uh...the next day in the hospital...(with exasperation and incredulous look) my staff came to the hospital and brought me legislation to sign some bills into law."

She had a 'how dare they impose on me' tone and body language; and, yet, we know she requested Bailey bring the bill which didn't need to be signed for awhile.

    She is despicable.

    @ anonymous 1:37 PM

I agree with you that Palin fully intended on running all along, but the summer of 2011 which was supposed to be a huge money and enthusiasm generator for her campaign bid failed miserably. Her bus tour, her movie "Undefeated," all those appearances in the media saying she could beat Obama (including her laughable photo spread in Newsweek)-- all bombed in a big way, and made her even more of national joke.

Put in the simplest terms possible: Palin couldn't generate enough money or interest (especially from big donors) to make a run for the presidency. She pretended that family matters were the deciding factor, so as to hide her embarrassment that she couldn't deliver the money and interest in a Palin campaign.

I knew it would happen. It was just a matter of time before the yawning gap between her perceived popularity(media driven) and her true popularity (reality driven) was exposed. She's a fraud, a fake and a legend in her own disturbed little mind (and the media have much to answer for their shoving this fraudulent scam down the public's collective throat for the sake of their miserable ratings).

It's pitiful that Palin really thought that her 2011 summer of unsophisticated marketing schlock would bring money and acclaim raining down like manna from heaven. She and her fans need to revisit the old maxims that "you can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear" and "don't throw your pearls before swine." (In other words, Palin Fans: you've hitched your wagon to an old sow instead of a star.)

Roanoke TV station covered the Lynchburg visit, but apparently Herb Cain was also there, at the opposite end of the campus, and THAT is where most of the reporting centered. There was a short B roll of Her Heinessness, a few sentences of her screech, and yes, she was wearing hooker shoes.

No follow-up or other interest. More about the conference itself and what it hoped to achieve.

Wonder where she stayed....Hope one of the fine Christian ladies traveling to the conference got a glimpse of the Booze Queen on the plane or in the airport.

You trust me to the be the leader of the free world...

Well, Sarah, that is some far reaching.

See, the Tea Baggers and Sarah supporters don't think that big. They don't understand the concept of the 'leader of the free world'.

They understand what they can see and what affects THEM.

They understand their wallets, and their Bible...not much else applies to them.

If the bigger picture DID matter to the Teabaggers and Palin supporters, they would KNOW she should just stay in Alaska making moose stew....not leading anything...ever.

Sarah is 'down to Earth'...'one of us', a mom, and she has a peppered resume....

But do you REALLY want a common person as the President? Do you want a person with limited education?

No. Exceptionalism applies to the Presidency...and Sarah is NOT.

Okay, except for the spoofers, there are NO TROLLS on this thread. That alone speaks volumes.

Here are the other 2 TV stations in the Lynchburg-Roanoke area. WDBJ doesn't even name her in the title:
    http://www.wdbj7.com/news/wdbj7-two-popular-names-visit-liberty-university-20111008,0,3966738.story

WSLS lists Sarah's name AFTER the black guy. That's gotta hurt:
    http://www2.wsls.com/news/2011/oct/08/herman-cain-and-sarah-palin-visit-liberty-universi-ar-1369696/

Looks like all the stations were using the same pool footage. At least she had the good grace to wear a skirt that was the appropriate length. But she seems to have left her hairbrush in Alaska.

Not to worry about Korea tho. You can get some really nice *human* hair wigs there for cheap. That should look a lot better than the rayon, am I right?

Don't you feel that you have a stake in the remaining assets of $arah Pac considering your money was misspent on luxury items for her and her family instead of fighting the cause against Obama? Don't you feel that the bus that she's run you over with, was probably paid for by YOUR monies? Don't you have any pride left even though she gave you a big FU and turned her back on you after 3 years of the big tease? Write, twitter, facebook, and picket her, just get the word out that you're not her personal banker anymore. She's a millionaire because of you and she doesn't give a rat's arse about your devotion and commitment...she's only interested in your wallet.

anon 1:37 and 3:39 I agree with you both. Sarah is mentally ill and has visions of grandeur. I really think she thought she could run for president via Face Book, Twitter, and her bus vacation. Someone must have finally convinced her that she did not need a title....but only to save her from embarrassment and to further shield her mental illness.
