Somehow I don't believe the Iowan Christians are ready to embrace Newt Gingrich 2.0. Just a hunch.

This is for all of you who were concerned that I was not paying enough attention to Newt and kept calling out Romney (Who I STILL think will be the eventual nominee) or taking potshots at Santorum, Cain, or Bachmann instead.

To be honest I kind of believe that, much like Palin, Newt is his own worst enemy and he will destroy his candidacy with very little help from the progressives.

But think about it, "President Newt?"  I mean seriously!

Exactly...Newt is his own worst enemy. When the polls came out to indicate that he had taken the lead his smug and pompous attitude also took the lead. Its one thing to be confident, and we certainly want a president to be confident but Newt exudes it with contempt. People want to like their president and Newt lacks big time in the likeability index. He's smart, he's capable, he would likely prevail in a debate with Obama but I don't think he'll get that far. I'm still of the belief that Romney will emerge from the clown car as the republican victor.

    Sheesh

    “Attack of the Barracuda”

Given the attacks of Sarah Palin, “barracuda” seems to be more appropriate than her own description of herself as having a “servant’s heart.” That post provided a long and colorful list of attacks lodged by Sarah Palin against any reporter who might dare to say anything uncomplimentary about her. The point of that article was that instead of attacking what they said, her attack became a personal attack on the reporter. Instead of responding to the allegations made by the reporter, Palin called the reporter names. “Corrupt Bastard,” “limp,” “impotent,” “gutless,” “puppy kicker” and “child-molester” where just a few of the more memorable names she has used to launch a full-fledged assault upon anyone she perceived to be adversary.

WTF!!! Now you suddenly don't like Newty Gingrich??? Gryphen (if that's REALLY your name - which I seriously doubt) you libruls really just chap my hide, whatever THAT means! Are you THAT hard to please? We gave you TPaw, Bachmann, PRick, Herb Cain, Jindal, Romney and now Gingrich and you STILL don't see someone you like?

At least Gingrich is a man of IDEAS, which is something you apparently know NOTHING about. Underneath that undetectable Hair-Club-4-Men 60s style Beatles mop is Newt's Guinness Book of World's Records winning "Most Massive Human Brain".

If you take just ONE minute to scan his latest book "100,001 Simple Ideas To Save America From Barack Hussein Obama" you would start to appreciate his brilliance.

I've chosen a few of his ideas at random just so you can see how unjustified is your snarky mockery of this self-proclaimed "World's Most Humble and Awesome Man"

    POVERTY
Shoot poor people with contraceptive-tipped darts from helicopters

Teach poor people to construct comfortable low-cost housing from recycled dry-cleaning bags and metal clothes hangers.

    ENERGY
Harvest small amounts of bio-chemical electricity from the bodies of poor children kept in medically induced comas. Each child provides only a few tenths of a watt of power per day but with tens of millions of immobilized bodies, they can power literally hundreds of homes in security-patrolled gated communities.

    ECONOMY
Convey full voting rights to profitable corporations to promote "job creation".

Reform tax code to make mistress expenses of lobbyists deductible as a business expense to promote "job creation".

Provide universal free valet parking and unlimited free gourmet coffee to people with annual incomes over $1,000,000 to promote "job creation".

    WHITE MAN'S BURDEN
Compel the descendants of slaves to reimburse the descendants of slave owners for back rent, meals and tattered clothing.

    FAMILY VALUES
Free deserving Americans from the iron grip of greedy divorce lawyers by permitting wealthy overweight married men of superior intellect to inexpensively end non-viable marriages by saying "I divorce thee" three times and spitting olive pits into the hair of their unwanted brides.

    GOVERNMENT
Attract better candidates and streamline government payroll procedures by paying senators and congressmen a flat $5,000,000 tax free per year plus $2,500,000 annual lifetime pension - vested fully after 6 months of relatively scandal-free tenure.

    HEALTH CARE
Repeal Obamacare and dismantle the patently offensive and unAmerican "death panels" and replace them with conservative religion-based "life panels" to determine, though vigorous prayer, who deserves access to the world's best health care system.

EVERY SINGLE IDEA HAS BEEN FULLY VETTED AND APPROVED BY THE JOHN BIRCH SOCIETY!!!

So get off your high horse and start supporting a man who has the ideas needed to restore this country to the ignorance- and racism-based greatness of the early 1800s!

    GINGRICH/GINGRICH2012!
THE ONLY CANDIDATE SMART ENOUGH TO BE HIS OWN VICE PRESIDENT!

Hey, don't rain on my parade, Gryph! I know that Gingrich is his own worst enemy and is destined to go down flaming, but I'd like to see that in a general election campaign! There's still a chance that the Republicans will deem him the lesser of two evils when neck-to-neck with Romney. God knows they don't have much to pick from! And they are such an angry, deluded bunch right now that Gingrich fits in with their mood better than Romney. And how many of those Iowa Christians are really Christianists instead, like Palin?

  6. He has the Palin Pathology: massive ego, low moral standards and loads of unethical and downright illegal stuff in his carpet bag. I agree that Newt will wear out his welcome long before the convention. I give him less than 90 days and he's history. He may end up as a kingmaker, brokering a deal at the convention. For Romney.

I still think he looks like a Beluga Whale. (Apologies to all Beluga Whales.)

I can not understand any woman supporting this lying sack of shit. He's a serial adulator who publicly humiliated several wives (!). He's like a man serving time in prison...he's found god and has repented - until the next opportunity comes by to lie, cheat, line his own pockets. The latest poll of Iowa voters from the Des Moines Register shows that “More than 70 percent of likely caucusgoers are still up for grabs.” That means that despite Newt Gingrich’s lead, voters haven’t settled on a final candidate and the landscape could shift before the January 3 caucuses.

Lots of people of all political stripes are making their dissatisfaction known regarding Gnewt.

The Libertarian Intelligentsia Is Freaking Out Over Newt

Libertarian blogger Will Wilkinson expressed the libertarian frustration with Newt Gingrich with a little dramatic flair on Twitter Monday: “If Newt Gingrich becomes president, we all deserve to die in a purifying fire.”

Another freakin' idiot that wants to be the president:

...Kornelis also challenged Santorum on health care reform and the idea of Christian charity, saying that he did not think “God appreciates the fact that we have 50 to 100,000 uninsured Americans dying due to a lack of healthcare every year.”

“Dying?” Santorum replied. After a back and forth, he declared: “The answer is not what can we do to prevent deaths because of a lack of health insurance. There’s — I reject that number completely, that people die in America because of lack of health insurance.

“People die in America because people die in America. And people make poor decisions with respect to their health and their healthcare. And they don’t go to the emergency room or they don’t go to the doctor when they need to,” he said. “And it’s not the fault of the government for not providing some sort of universal benefit.”

Not that I give much attention to Joe, but I find it interesting that he is HEATEDLY against Newter:

Joe Scarborough had harsh words for Republican frontrunner Newt Gingrich on the Tuesday edition of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, warning voters that the former Speaker of the House would “destroy the (Republican) party” if nominated. “If I’m a Republican in South Carolina and I don’t know just how erratic and undisciplined Newt Gingrich is, and what a danger to America he’d be...

Gingrich clearly does not invite fawning praise, even from the Right:

Actor Daniel Baldwin, appearing on Fox News’s Red Eye this morning, criticized Republican frontrunner Newt Gingrich‘s remarks about children from poor neighborhoods having no work ethic. “I think what he was saying– and I think it had a racist overtone to it — because he said the inner city and he turned around and said that a lot of these people didn’t have a shining work ethic, he wasn’t talking about the kids working, but the kids weren’t seeing the parents working. I beg to differ that there’s a lot of inner city parents that work multiple jobs to try to support, they don’t make a lot of money. So I don’t agree with what he said, I thought it was kind of ignorant.”

  21. Heh... A blog called The Conservative Heritage Times said this yesterday:

I despise Newt Gingrich. It’s not just because he’s a serial philanderer, or that his current wife has lunatic eyes and a Star Trek hairdo.

    http://dixienet.org/rebellion/images/Callista.jpg

No, it’s because he’s going to bring back the Bush administration. And by that, I don’t mean more insane military adventures and floodtide immigration – heck, we’ve already got that under Obama. What bothers me is that he’s going to wrap up those noxious policies as “real American conservatism,” which they are not.
So first Newt has to lure conservative voters, and he attempts to do just that with this retch-inducing ad:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=brdrjLavTzU
[Note: I retched too over this cloying collection of stock video clips -- worse than Cain's German thumbs-up girls]

Gee, you’d never suspect that the candidate wooing the white majority with this ad was already working on “immigration reform” [translation: amnesty] that even the immigration lawyers like.

And Newt hasn’t forgotten the Bushian newspeak about perpetual war being a “conservative” value, never mind its proven record of boosting big government, opening the doors to more Third-World immigration, and eroding liberty. Heck, Newt has even found his own Condoleezza Rice.

    Scarborough: Gingrich 'Dehumanizes People'

It’s no secret that Morning Joe host and former Republican congressman Joe Scarborough has some beef with his former caucus leader, Newt Gingrich. But on Scarborough’s show this morning, he really laid into the current GOP frontrunner for his tendency to “dehumanize” his opponents.

“When he puts on his political helmet, he is a terrible person,” The Hill quoted Scarborough as saying. “He may be a nice person at home, [but] people that don’t know Newt at home need to know this.”

The morning show host slammed Gingrich for, among other things, comparing Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to the genocidal Soviet autocrat, Joseph Stalin.

Scarborough said that other Republicans he served with in Congress had emailed him privately, with words to the effect of, “How many times does Newt have to teach these people he’s bad for the conservative moment?”

What a load of detritus Newt is.

Telling people that he would never do a public service announcement with Pelosi again just made him look incredibly stupid and pandering. If you want what's best for this country and you are the POTUS you should sit next to damn near anyone if it will help the country.

I really, really cannot stand what has happened to the GOP. Their base got unhinged because they wake up to a black man as POTUS and they cannot stand it. Playing to racists and know nothings is just about Newt's style. There is going to have to be an amazing amount of republicans who will have to get drunk to vote for this POS in the primaries.

The person who filmed the event told Chicago Now that Elijah’s mom had been standing in line to speak to Bachmann herself, but decided she was too nervous. Shailey takes Sarah's cryptic messages apart:

    In Sarah Palin's own words

....Well thanks to Sarah Palin we now know that other people besides myself have sworn on a bible that they had affairs not just with Todd but with her. We also know that "one specific masseuse" massaged her at seven months pregnant. And we now know there is something up with the whole Trig truther issue. And in her mind she has to deal with all these issues every day.

By my count Sarah Palin has addressed many things and many people through the media in denouncing affairs. In one instance she addresses a specific masseuse, who we all know is me, but doesn't denounce the masseuse sleeping with her husband. Instead she focuses attention to her massage.

So not Shailey Tripp but Sarah Palin gives us the audience a new way to look at the rumors and allegations out there. She also invited a more deeper look into these "issues she has to deal with everyday". So naturally my next question is who is going to help her do that? Media here is your chance to redeem yourself in the eyes of Sarah Palin. She gave you and I a lot of advice on how to do that when she talked about Herman Cain. She even gave a checklist so to speak. I know all my items on that list are ready. How about you media, are you ready?
