Gingrich's ex-wife claims he wanted an open marriage. I am not sure Newt understands the term "family values."

video platform video management video solutions video player Courtesy of the New York Times:

The former wife, Marianne Gingrich, was married to Mr. Gingrich for 18 years, his second marriage. During the last years of the marriage Mr. Gingrich had an affair with a Congressional aide, Callista Bisek, who is now his third wife.

Paraphrasing Marianne Gingrich’s account, Mr. Ross said, “He came to her and said I want to stay married to you and still have an affair with Callista.” Marianne said Mr. Gingrich asked her “share” him, Mr. Ross said. That was unacceptable to her and the marriage ended.

It is unclear whether the interview, to be broadcast Thursday at 11:35 p.m. on “Nightline,” will have an impact on Mr. Gingrich’s momentum in South Carolina, coming a day before the South primary on Saturday and on the same day he is to receive the endorsement of Rick Perry, who is leaving the race.

Holy crap! Well that Todd Palin endorsement makes a LOT more sense now doesn't it?

And of course we knew that as soon as the Grizzled Mama hinted that she liked Newt that his days were numbered.

Of course things are not exactly rosy for Romney either. McCain's oppositional research contained some rather damaging factoids.

Damn it's a good day to be a Democrat. Don't you think?

Well, when you are as handsome with 6-pack abs and a superior brain like Gingrich (he thinks these apply to him) he is too good to stay with just one woman. Speading himself around, sharing the joy that's how Gingrich rolls. I wonder if Callista is sharing him with wife #4? As long as she has the Tiffany accounts, I doubt that she would care who he spends time with. She does not want her hair messed up!

  2. So does this mean that Helmet Hair and the creepy pasty-white chubby guy have an open marriage?

I may need to take an anti-emetic just to ponder such things.

  6. Well, remember Marianne was having an affair with Newt while he was still married to wife #1. I'm not sure she's any one to complain about Newt's actions. She had to know what goes around comes around.

And I can't believe any woman would find Newt in any way attractive and worth being with. None...

It's a GREAT day to be a Dem! The "other side" is imploding as we watch, popcorn in hand. Next it'll be Snewt's turn to call it an afternoon, IMO--but in case you were wondering if there's any divine intervention in any of this GOP drama, here's some wisdom from a commenter at the Sea:

"I'm taking a quick look back at our recent past. Sarah is sooooo orchestrating this whole thing from the sidelines. After Iowa, she respectively suggested MB get out. MB did. Then, even after Newt made a poor showing in NH, Todd endorsed Newt outright and Sarah made some remarks about how she would vote for Newt in SC. She also said it is time for someone to step aside and take one for the home team. A day later, Perry steps aside and endorses Newt.

"This lady knows EXACTLY what she is doing. We are on the sidelines biting our nails, but she is calmly taking the primary right where she wants it"

It's soooooo interesting watching the kids make excuses for their Fantasy Momma. Bwahaha!

This actually brings into question why certain people feel the need to hurt others, whoever it is. Democrats aren't immune. We all discovered Clinton's business sadly. We read about Michelle O's alleged crushes on SS, Obama's gay lover, and all the GOP rumors that get the most media attention.

None of this matters. It's pretty accepted that humans like feeling power over other humans. History proves this. it's why we open out own businesses and detest authority. The sick thing is, there are people who get off on hurting others anyway they can. Whether it's because they were wronged or are just mental doesn't matter.

Hurting people and acting smug about it is sad. Esp if said hurter doesnt actually know the person. Bloggers have proven this for years.

Look at all the lies about each candidate, all the distortions, all the pointless namecalling, all the crap that has zero bearing on how a country is run.

I think because we've been electing people who shouldn't have been elected (Bush, Obama) due to either being unqualified or simple inexperience, we're lost in what we really want.

We don't need a leader who desires to help the lazy over the hardworking, the illegals over citizens, himself and colleagues/backers over constituents. The last 3 years have proven DC hasn't changed. There are still selfish, worthless leaders in our country's heart.

Newt said that there is a place at his table for Palin if he wins and he would call her for advice!

    WTF?

Hey Sarah this is Newt calling, what's the most effective way to keep my kids and grandkids from getting pregnant? Oh okay, I'll tell them that you said abstinence is the only way to prevent pregnancy. That is excellent Sarah... That's what they need to hear... Thank you so much for your excellent advice. I clearly see why McCain picked you.

Hey Sarah this is Newt again, I have another question for you, my daughter is dating a black basketball player and she wants to use condoms. What should she do? Oh okay, you advise her to buy Magnum condoms and some numbing cream... okay thanks so much Sarah, you are so full of knowledge!

Oh Sarah I have one more question for you, my grandkid is in 5th grade and she wants to quit school, what's your advice. I see, they are old enough to make up their minds and probably will end up getting pregnant before graduating high school so why not drop out now and start a family earlier... Okay I understand your logic, you just saved her about 7 years of unnecessary schooling.

Sarah, you are definitely my go to girl!

Don't forget, you are going to be my vp pick!

    What a week:

    * Perry comes to his senses, drops out and endorses a horses ass for President

    * We find out that Santorum actually won the Iowa Caucus

    * Todd Palin and his wife throw their support to the person with the least familarity with the concept of "family values" in the field

    * Mrs. Gingrich II will tell all tonight

    * Mitt says out loud that $375,000 is "not a lot of money"

    * Human cannonball Chris Christy says out loud that Mitt should release his tax information right now

    * Gingrich is seriously narrowing the gap in South Carolina

    * There's another debate tonight

    * Jobless claims hit a four year low

If you look at photos of Callista through the years with Newt you see her morph from a regular-looking young woman into a plastic, brittle, icy cold helmut-haired woman who's 45 but looks 60!

Thanks to Rove's good old boy dirty politics outings: Newt's daughters protest letter to defend Daddy Dearest said he "...is running for pres "so he can give his grandchildren the America HE loves"

We the People can see their young lives as janitors & sweat shop workers will train them to see the value of being as some old guy's mistress who can afford them because he's made the big bucks by unethical deeds & bleeding the beast for personal profit.

Newt's long time church minister not long ago opined that Newt's refusal to pay child/spousal support resulted in her destitution so much so, parishoners donated food & money so she could put food on her lack of family values brood...and so Newt could put trinkets on his trollop.

Is Newt playing presidential tease again? This guy has been at it for years now and has been reaping the financial benefits. Is he running as a candidate to seal a future of more speaking fees to keep Callista swimming in Tiffany baubles?

There were rumors that Callista was a Clinton left over and that she was instrumental in convincing her then boyfriend Newt to seek Clinton's impeachment regarding the Lewinsky episode because Clinton threw her aside after he was done with her.

So much attention was focused on the Clinton-Lewinsky affair that Clinton passed on the opportunity to extradite Osama Bin Laden. It is quite possible that 911 could have potentially been averted had she not felt slighted when Clinton used her then moved on to another girl. That witch hunt cost taxpayers 30 mil while Newt was himself hypocritically having an affair with Callista.

During Newt's tenure as speaker of the house, eighty-four ethics charges were filed against him. After extensive investigation and negotiation by the House Ethics Committee, Gingrich was sanctioned $300,000 by a 395–28 House vote.

It was the first time in history a speaker was disciplined for ethical wrongdoing.

Newt Gingrich has made a career of being an underhanded political mudslinger. He is a shameless and cruel philanderer. Finally, he went after Bill Clinton all the while doing the EXACT SAME THING (having an extramarital sexual relationship with a subordinate). He asked her to just tolerate the affair, an offer she refused.

He’d just returned from Erie, Pennsylvania, where he’d given a speech full of high sentiments about compassion and family values.

The next night, they sat talking out on their back patio in Georgia. She said, “How do you give that speech and do what you’re doing?”

“It doesn’t matter what I do,” he answered. “People need to hear what I have to say. There’s no one else who can say what I can say. It doesn’t matter what I live.”

Keep exposing Palin, Gryphen. Palin shouldn't have played any part in politics after the crosshairs map and people need to be reminded of her vile, hateful past and present. She is disgusting.

So what's next? Newt lamenting his lack of vetting his exes? (BTW, "eeewwwww!") And he wants Sarah in his "Administration?" Sarah is still chasing the high of the 2008 Republican Convention -- but that was waaaay before the crosshairs and the Tebow curse... AND before her very-public vetting. Family Values? Right. Anyone who votes for this guy are doing nothing more than asking for trouble.

Hey, no one should forget the comment of one of Newt's first supporters in GA. He turned away from Newt, even though they were close friends, because Newt told him that he wanted to ditch wife #1 because "she was young or pretty enough to be the wife of a politician."

So, in when a wife begins to show signs of wear and tear either through illness or age, he dumps them. After all, he must has someone worthy to grace his arm - to be eye candy.

Good freaking grief, I hope no woman votes for this piece of excrement. Only a Sarah would endorse and support him - and then, only to get what she wants.

So, "these people in the race" could only apply to Newton "I'll love you forever" Gingrich.

And your family, I'm sorry to say, has revealed itself to be neither strong nor "one unit,"whatever that is. What in the hell is going on with the Republicans and their "family values"?

Newt proudly shows off his trophy mistress/wife, not in the least ashamed to admit he has had multiple affairs.

Mitt's grandfather moves to Mexico and has many wives and children..Mitt's father lived in that compound and is the offspring of a polygamist.

Now Newsweek reports that Santorium's wife lived for 8 years with a man 40 years her senior, the doctor who had delivered her (that's just mind boggling) and is an well known abortion doctor. He says she left him because she wanted to have children, and, let's face it, he was too old for that. So much for all of the sanctimonious garbage about not having sex until marriage and no birth control (if she didn't get pregnant in 8 years, she clearly was using some form of birth control).

I wonder if there has ever been such a flawed group of people running for President? Sarah fits right in with them.

Unfortunately, politicians have to have a bit of narcissism to get them ahead. Some call it self-confidence, but it seems lately that these frontrunner repub candidates live in their private world of self-gratification, entitlement, and hatred of those who need safety nets.

Gingrich, is so quick to judge others. He found salvation and asked for forgiveness. Unfortunately it didn't go any further, as he becomes the holy judge of others now, and thinks he and only he can decide who is fit to do what, where, and how. He didn't become a humble man. His new turnaround hasn't seemed to make him a better compassionate man. The man's fruit has been rotten fruit of judgment, protector of the wealthy, protector of the elite, unconcerned for the widows and orphans, refusing services for the least of these.

I believe there is a God. And that those who claim they are his and treat others so badly are being exposed for the wolves in sheep's clothing that they are. It's been prophesied, and it's happening.

In the 2010 Esquire article, Marianne Gingrich said that Newt had asked her to marry him before he told his first wife he wanted a divorce. He did the same thing with her.

That means that Calista thought she was going to go up the aisle in white satin and orange blossoms, but Newt was back home, asking Marianne to have an open marriage -- which would leave Calista as the aging other woman for as long as she could stand it.
