Gay icebergs sank the Titanic and now they are threatening to do the same to America. At least I THINK that's what this video is saying.

Seriously what the hell kind of convoluted argument is that? And why bring the tragedy of the Titanic into it? (By the way, my daughter LOVED that movie!)

Here is more from Right Wing Watch:

The Truth that Transforms film features well-known anti-gay activists such as Jennifer Kennedy Cassidy and Jerry Newcombe of Truth in Action Ministries, Mathew Staver of Liberty Counsel, Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, right-wing historian Bill Federer, radio talk show host and author Michael Brown, and pastors Harry Jackson, Robert Jeffress and Erwin Lutzer.

Staver warned that the “homosexual agenda is the moral iceberg that we need to steer clear of” and maintained that it is “the biggest threat I believe in our lifetime to religious freedom and the fundamental values we share here in America.” While Jackson said the “homosexual agenda” is “one of those icebergs that if we don’t navigate around them correctly, will take us under,” Brown claimed “we’ve already hit the iceberg and the ship is already going down” and Land insisted that “we’re taking on water, the only question is whether or not we’re going to be able to survive and the ship won’t sink.” Staver predicted that opposition to gay rights is bound to be “criminalized and targeted for assault” and Federer even asserted that “there are just a couple steps before the military could be used in a persecution of those that are viewed as enemies of the new state belief system.”

Silly me, I didn't even know icebergs COULD be gay.  You learn something new every day.

The 'gay agenda?" You mean, the one that wants everyone to be treated as human beings, sort of like what is says in the BIble? Try as they may, these guys cannot find anything from Jesus condemning anyone but the moneychangers and the wealthy. I find their agenda far more damaging to my life than any supposed 'gay agenda.' And frankly, the GOP's focus on this instead of on tax equality and fairness and taking care of the poor shows me that they do not care about this nation's future...they just want to hate.

  2. And on the other end of the world, and some zoos in between, there are gay penguins! God doesn’t seem to give a rip about faux righteousness.

Of course that video had to bring in the police state bogyman to scare the rubes out of their last dollars.

Gay people threaten the morality of the nation? I'm sorry, radical Christianity is the only threat to this or an other nation. And while I'm on my soapbox, I'll say that last person that should be asked to teach morality is a Christian. As an individual these frauds continue to attack, I have no use for any of them in my daily life.

      A fraud, by definition, is NOT representative of what they claim;

      like FAKE Christians.

They are not true followers of the teachings of Christ (GOLDEN RULE!!).

Jesus and his followers weren't an ORGANIZED RELIGION, and you don't need to follow one either.

But if you are interested at ALL in finding the truth about JC, I would suggest you try and find evidence of JC being supportive of the heinous positions (Oppression, Bigotry, Hatred, Inequality...) that the "religious right" or FAKE CHRISTIANS,

have initiated, in Jesus' name (so to speak).

I have faith that you will be unable to find such evidence.

Jesus Christ was a GOOD MAN.

Jesus Christ was a KIND MAN.

Sigh, they're all probably pretend straight men and women obsessed with everything gay.

I never understand them. As an out gay man, I don't obsess about straight people and their lives (other than wondering why Rush is on his fourth childless marriage and why some other straight men and women are into serial marriages/divorces. Why some people are the sexual, morality, body and more, policemen about other people yet these same policemen don't police themselves first before worrying about everything else. Why there are such hypocritical, working for self-interest, especially working for money, poor role models on the right: don't do it yet are queens for abstinence).

I believe it's safe to assume the myth it's factual. Anyone on the right and in the USA taliban fixated on gay and lesbian everything/anything is indeed someone craving sex with someone of the same gender.

Yet they cannot live honest, decent, happy lives as an out person, so they become these bitter, hating due to self-hating, zealots for Jesus. Though, I wish they weren't such pushy bottoms and would wait for Jesus to come when he's darn good and ready for his second coming.

      Paul.

As a good Catholic youth, I remember once proudly proclaiming in Science class that God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.

If there is a caricature out there of a smirky tween with braids and a 'fundamental' smugness about my rightness, that would have been me.

But I have 'evolved' and am ashamed about that popular pronouncement and righteousness.

I'm a straight, married mommy but I advocate for equality in Alaska, like on Prop 5, for LGBT rights and protections. Even my mom has waved and cheered on others in Gay Parades. We don't even have a gay member of the family, we just believe in letting consenting adults be who they are. And certainly want loving and accepting environments for young kids realizing they aren't cookie-cutter straights.

We are simply not threatened with the LGBT community, and only wish them the same rights right-wing extreme fundies exploit and abuse every single minute of every single day and try to keep for themselves.

For the time being, at least your reward is living comfortably as who you are and happy. These bitter and frightened folks with hate in their hearts? Not so much.

You will realize that once you engage one of these FAUX Christians in a "discussion",

you will quickly discover that their ideology is based on platitudes and slogans that don't stand up to "cross-examination".

But of course, the MOST OBVIOUS,

is that Jesus Christ would NEVER approve of the horrific treatment that the LGBT community suffers (or ANYONE treated poorly).

Find a different analogy, guys. Maybe it's better if the ship sinks, because guess what, if the ship survives, there will, inevitably, be some gay people on board!

The more these lunatics infiltrate Christianity, the more likely they are to sink that ship. I'm sure every religion has them, but honestly, what a bunch of nut jobs. I can't understand the fear of homosexuals. I really don't think it is a fear. I think it is all about control, and fundamentalist Christians need a target. Why not target pedophilia or domestic abuse? Pick something that is actually harmful to others.

Righties/Fundies don't know what the word "Fundamental" means and don't know ho9w to use it. Sarah was issued that dominionist word years ago and uses it as much as "Also," "perhaps," "too," "commonsense," "transform/ation," and "bold."

Sick of their dog whistle words, their co-opting the concept and corner on 'values,' 'family' and what is "American."

The Gays have been around forever, so have non-believers. And yet life still goes on. Only, not as a flat earth, or without the planets revolving around it, and for a helluva lot longer than 6,000 years.

These people don't represent all christians. This has to be a group that get their self-righteous ultimate sense of superiority on some high by persecuting a target a people who are not trying to hurt anyone, but who are having to cope with their desires and no one will walk a mile in their shoes.

This crowd with the homosexual hatred have to maybe look back at their own history. They enjoy the bounty of their forefathers who stole land from Native Americans, did a lot of killing and pillaging in order to claim lands and property, bringing in slaves from Africa, re-inventing a new order, being the top porn industry exporters. While most first world nations have repealed he death penalty for any punishment, their taxes contribute towards maintaining death chambers. The U.S., among others, has one of the highest divorce rates in the world. Pastors today in the U.S. divorce now more than ever, yet they keep their churches, remarry and scorn others and have the NERVE to believe that God will send an iceberg because of the homosexual agenda? And besides, I think the church invented this false "agenda".

If there's an iceberg coming, it will come on the church, because it teaches in Revelation that judgment begins with the House of God first. So they'll be judged first and found wanting if they don't clean up every facet of their lives, which by the NT's account, is met with failure, and that's why they need a Savior.

They are the blind leading the blind. They accuse the guy with the sliver in his eye, but can't see the log in their own eye.

Yes and labeling gays as "threatening" is oh so naziesque. Jews and liberals, professors and labor union members, homosexuals and gypsies were also the "threats" of their time. The more things change, the more they stay the same. If you don't see the parallels between then and now, then you aren't paying attention. We laugh at the tea party and theocratic leaders as Germans laughed at the nazis oh so long ago. It didn't take long before they took power and started to pass Nuremburg laws outlawing unions, marriages between "good germans" and jews, homosexuality and abortion. If you don't see what's going on in a slow and orchestrated method, then you aren't paying attention.

Can anyone tell me where to find a copy of the 'Gay Agenda'? I've looked all over the internet and asked all of my gay friends and not a single one of them has seen it.

Is it a Word document or a pdf file that you can download from some gay website and is there some secret gay password you need to access it? Is it a one-day agenda or do the activities continue for longer?

Does it include breaks and snacks or do you need to bring your own food? Is there a specific dress code for the events? Is there a fee for the activities and, if so, what forms of payment are acceptable? Where do the activities take place and is there nearby parking and lodging available?

It's very frustrating to keep hearing all this noise about the terrible, horrible, awful, life-shattering, ship-sinking, world-ending, family-destroying Gay Agenda but not be able to see it for myself! ;)

At least 1500 species have been shown to practice homosexual behavior.

    Only one practices homophobia.

Everything's a clear and present danger to the family to these nutjobs. With the heterosexual divorce rate so high, I suppose it's someone else's or another group's fault?

And I love the added threat of natzi's, to really drive the hatred home.

Why do they give a crap if the Titanic takes on water and sinks if it's the Iceberg that's "gay", whatever that means?
