Just something for the GOP to keep in mind.

So just who are the women going to vote out of office?

The Republicans who are  trying to take away their health care benefits by attacking Planned Parenthood, control over their bodies by defining conception as beginning the day after their last period, and their voice by having Mitt Romney's obedient Mormon wife speak on their behalf?

Or this guy?

  9. I am a progressive Democrat. I voted Obama. I will vote Obama again. That said, I disagree with you on women voting out the politicians who are "making war on them." Women are the worst about siding with men against other women. Witness all those GOP - Stepford women in Congress, the babes pulling funding from Planned Parenthood, Jan Brewer signing an absurd law to curtail abortion, etc., etc., etc. We are our own worst enemies.

Wait a minute... following the "logic" that conception begins the day after your last period (apparently the meeting of egg and sperm are no longer necessary?), then one could conclude that having your period is an abortion.

Quick, pass a law banning all periods!

"the day after the last period" was written by someone that has never experienced years of menstruation. Every period is a little different, some end neatly, some dribble. And to try to determine exactly 24 hours after a very indefinite point in time, is laughable and certainly not likely to survive review by the courts.

The actual point of the legislation is to give legislators a great BIG (penis shaped) talking point for their next election campaign. For representatives from heavily conservative districts, it's imperative to APPEAR to be attacking the SLUTTY women whenever possible. Of course, conservative women understand that such laws are never aimed at them. Reasonably wealthy women will always have the option to get their abortions quietly and safely in Sweden, Canada, etc.

The day after the last period, that egg is not ready to be fertilized. It will take another 14 days for hormones and everything else to prepare that egg to be fertilized. So, if the gal doesn't have intercourse 14 days after her last period, is she practicing a form of contraception? The answer is yes, and it's called the rhythm method. It used to be good enough for the Catholic church, but she would probably end up in jail in Arizona.

Levi, Do what is right by your own conscience and by your son and your new family. Sarah Palin is corrupt. You and I both know she never birthed Trig and Todd sees and manipulates many women and prostitutes. If the Palin lawyer who is attacking you publicly is Van Flein or Tiemeseen or works for one of these two men then immediaelty report them to the Alaska Bar Association. Tiemessen has a distinct record for lying and misusing his Alaska attorney lic. Stay safe, be blessed. Shailey Tripp is deleting her blog she announced and as of today deleted and block comments to her blog post. Strange as she just released a book I have seen some comments here and there about maybe it was all a bullshit story about the pimp thing. I read the book and it really was lacking in any evidence or proof. I think maybe some mental health issues at play with her. Jesse what's up with this story ? Anybody else have opinion ?

You will probably start reading posts here and there all kinds of theories, but I doubt mental health issues are at play with her. She's always seemed consistent and somewhat credible.

My opinion is she feels she's accomplished what she set out to do, has gotten a better offer (not in the field of writing, I assure you) and she's closing her blog because she can't put the time into it she once could.

      That's my 2 cents

Before Shay went dark she said she would be posting on other blogs one day. My take was that people understood that she would not be blogging. The problem was that she was DELETING EVERYTHING come next Friday. With good reason some were upset that she was suddenly forsaking them. As anyone would, they reacted. It got a little rough but people were coming around. A double whamy that she wipes out the comments and turns off access.

Not good mental health but she will recover. It is her blog to do what she wants. Would it be so bad to work through all the hurt feelings? Her loyal supporters were hurt, Shay was hurt. Why does it matter who was hurt more and who has the worst struggle in life? I am sorry she could not handle this exit and the situation it created. Many people believe what she was saying about the Palins. She did appear to be very naive about the Paoletti family. She liked them a great deal and could not see that the Palins and Paolettis could get along and/or like one another. Bristol would disagree and will get the last word.

Where is a link to Malia Litman addressing this?

The good news is that Malia says "Be patient! I know of things happening right now the Shay is doing to make her story further known and documented, but we can’t publish the story yet because if the Palins know the details they might interfere with our ability to gather the information, and I know they read this blog. Don’t give up yet. The wheels of justice are slow, but they may still be turning."

Malia has offered Shay a guest post, when she is ready to say more. ( further explanation of the blog to be shuttered and what happened, we hope. )

Also: "Shailey was kind enough to give me this first interview after she walked away from her deal with the National Enquirer, and I am very grateful."
Shailey walked away from her deal with NE?

Yes, Shailey had a slight diviation when she said to a blog comment "Eat shit and die" who hasn't had a moment like that? The blog ended in total divisiveness when she turned against her most loyal supporters. BE PATIENT! It will all make sense as soon as Shailey can clear this up.

Put another log on the fire.
Cook me up some bacon and some beans.
And go out to the car and change the tyre.
Wash my socks and sew my old blue jeans.
Come on, baby, you can fill my pipe,
And then go fetch my slippers.
And boil me up another pot of tea.
Then put another log on the fire, babe,
And come and tell me why you're leaving me.

Now don't I let you wash the car on Sunday?
Don't I warn you when you're gettin fat?
Ain't I a-gonna take you fishin' with me someday?
Well, a man can't love a woman more than that.

Ain't I always nice to your kid sister?
Don't I take her driving every night?
So, sit here at my feet 'cos I like you when you're sweet,
And you know it ain't feminine to fight.

So, put another log on the fire.
Cook me up some bacon and some beans.
Go out to the car and lift it up and change the tyre.

I think that people understand exactly what Ann Romney's role is in her husband's world. In Saturday Night Live's opening sketch, Mitt Romney hands a tip to the waitress, sealed in an envelope. He tells her to give it to her husband because he'll know what to do with it. You can't make a joke like that if people don't nod in agreement and get it. If it was insulting, it would never have made it past the rehearsal audience. It would have been booed out of the show.

Michelle Obama had her own career and her own identity. In fact, she made the sacrifice not to practice law while serving as The First Lady. (I believe that Hillary Clinton, also a lawyer did not practice law while serving as First Lady). Because Michelle has a full staff, she has the time to lend her high profile to important causes: Military Families and getting people to eat healthy food and exercise. One does not have to receive a salary to do meaningful work and make a contribution to society. Volunteer and charity work has value, too.

Like the First Lady, Ann Romney is lucky to have household help. Her children are grown, and right now, she has chosen to campaign with her husband. However, I haven't found much evidence of Ann giving her time and high profile to MS organizations, especially since she seems to have found a program which has helped her (traditional and alternative medicine, diet and horseback riding). Ann volunteered in some schools in Boston once. Even Cindy McCain had a charity founded by Mother Theresa in India that she worked for. I think that like some of the extreme Religious Right, the Mormons are happier when their wives stay at home, taking care of the house and kids, and obeying their husband. Women don't enjoy equality in those religious groups, not the same equality that more progressive women have worked for.

And don't get me started about how much money and time that Sarah Palin has devoted to DS organizations where she could be their champion fund raiser. Sarah has never given speeches about Trig's therapy, something that other families would benefit from hearing about-- especially since Sarah has the means to afford the best care for Trig. The only story we hear is that Wild Ride and the fiction that people told her to abort the baby before he was born-- difficult to do since no one knew that Trig was going to be born with DS. Sarah's charitable work follows the old cliche, "Charity begins at home" with Sarah. Please give generously to her PAC.

President Obama generously donated the proceeds from his books to charity. What a guy!

      +1

Sarah could have done much good in the world, for other people, if she would have honestly talked about Trig.

Rather than her using Trig as another prop to only help Sarah.

Same with Ann Romney, she could have chosen to speak out to help other people facing similar health issues. Yet she is too deferential to her husband to do the right thing, other than being Mitt's background piece.

Whenever I saw Santorum on a stage, I tended to watch his pathetic daughter (who unfortunately looks like him) nod in agreement over his shoulder, at all he'd say, with a certain "look" I am way too familiar with.

It screams out that "I am totally unimportant and a waste of human flesh...but at least I can support my father, no matter what kind of crazy stuff he says."

I saw this on women at Baptist churches all my young life. They may be hopeless. NOTHING told to them at this point can bring about even a shred of self esteem. They will vote for men who are shamelessly anti-women.

I didn't hear anything in the sermons that caused such subservience, but maybe, as a MALE, (and one who was busy writing jokes on the church bulletin while the preacher was droning on) I missed it.

It sure doesn't seem like anything JESUS would have condoned.

I find it really hard to believe Santorscum is the kind of dad who tells his little girls:

You can be ANYTHING you want to be in this life ~ Even President of the United States!

OR, ya think it's more like:

If you keep your nose clean and your tummy trim, you MIGHT get a husband to take care of you ($$$$), while you attend to his Every. Single. Need. as you wallow in desperation and loneliness as your child lingers with a deathly illness...

Oh, wait, that's Rick's lucky Wife!
