NBC's new morning show, "Three Professionals and a Grifter." Palin's Today Show appearance continues.
I have heard the term "duck out of water" my whole life, but Palin is more like a legless duck dragging herself by her bill across a highway in five o'clock traffic. You just KNOW she is going to get run over by something bigger than she is at some point.
You know, something like those uncooperative liberal leaning facts.
I swear to God that this whole segment was designed around Palin scandals.
Admitting you bit off more than you could chew (Oprah), gaining weight (Or not gaining weight) during pregnancy (Jessica Simpson), making lists of your enemies (Facebook App.). and biopics about famous people (Steve Jobs movie.) Every ONE of those is something that Palin is infamous for!
I loved Lauer's shot at Palin over the pregnancy issue.
Lauer: "Governor I don't know how much weight you gained during your pregnancies, but how would you have felt had someone criticized you for gaining too much weight?" (I almost choked on my coffee at this question.)
Snooki: "I would have wanted to punch them in the neck." (Check out her face, and how quickly she changes the topic.)
On the Facebook App: "Nope it's all about tearing people down, and hurting people, I don't see anything positive, anything good about this." And later, "It just adds more darkness to our world." (Says the woman whose first book was all about tearing down her "enemies" and throwing ex-supporters to the wolves.)
On the Jobs movie: "Well do any of you here have experience with people being paid a lot of money to pretend like they're you?"
Donny Deustch: "I was going to ask, what did you think if Julianne Moore?"
Palin's response, a thumbs down followed by this obvious lie "You know what? I didn't see the movie, and I wouldn't waste my time to see the movie."
Star Jones, "Are you telling the truth?" (Of course not!)
Palin: "Nah because I don't waste my time on false narratives, on lies."
After that she kisses up to NBC some more by saying that, "I do have to admit that Tina Fey has been pretty clever."
Even if you hate hearing Palin's voice as much as I do at this point, you may want to suffer through this clip just to watch the contortions of her face in reaction to "too close to home" questions and the glee the other panelists take in needling her.
They could have been tougher, but it was still a hell of a lot better than those ass kissers at Fox News have been doing!

Now, look at Anne - she looks professional and gorgeous. While Palin at least looks put together today thanks to on site stylists of all kinds, she does not look like a professional news person (although these shows should be called entertainment instead of news in most cases).

DeleteI thought the topics were perfect for Palin as well though. Everyone struggles with self-confidence issues at some point. The fact that her kids are happy and healthy after having their issues strewn on tv is remarkable and speaks highly about their famiy.

You can try to play the victim for Sarah, but NO ONE does it better than she does. And THAT is why people don't respect her. She dishes, but she CANNOT take it when it comes back at her. She just goes whining to anyone who will listen, whipped, a tail between her legs.

Gabby Giffords and the blood libel video, saying they had lost my viewership forever in the a.m. and that from now on, I'll be watching CBS or ABC.

Now THAT was even more HIGH-larious than Mrs. Palin's wild ride on "Today," oh speaker of "truth"!
I have kids the same age as the elder three Palin kids. I would CRINGE if they behaved in the form of documented behavior that Track, Bristol, and Willow must take responsibility for. I don't need to know them, and the further away from my family that they stay, the better.
If mine, I believe I would have assisted them into a jail cell most certainly instead of the 'cover up' of the Willow and the House situation.

ReplyDeleteat about 7:30 EST, the camera caught Palin in a dressing room (which Matt Lauer pointed out to her was his and that she didn't have permission to use!). Just as the camera came in the room, she was writing with marker on her left palm.
No kidding!
Maybe she was scribbling a cheat sheet so she could remember the names of the hosts?; or the name of the network?; or which side to turn to when?; or "don't forget to say we need more teenage reality shows?" A great mystery! If anyone caught what was scribbled on her hand, it would make having had to sit through the thing worthwhile.

And, just to keep things superficial, what was with the outfit?
All the others were dressed in a professional way -- a little casual sometimes, but always clean, well-fitted, stylish and appropriate. Some bright colors, heels but not stilettos, easy-on-the-eyes early-morning clothing. Matt Lauer wore a tie, Christie Brinkley (older than Sarah, I believe) was stunning in a fuschia sleeveless shift. Other women solid blazers over patterned tops -- you get the idea.
Sarah, instead, pulled out her Motorcycle Mama black shirt and pants, with that rhinestone low-slung belt, and open-toed shoes with the sole at least three inches off the ground. Shoes that would look great in an '80s softcore-porn film. This was her big chance, her opportunity at a real broadcast national audience, and she looked like she'd just got off the bus from Vegas. Whew.
And she mentioned in the Tori Spelling segment that she was waiting for her grandchildren -- too old to have children now.
Doesn't she have at least two grandchildren already? Did she forget, or think we wouldn't remember? One daughter has been parading one of the grandchildren around the country and trying to make money on the basis of his very existence. Like that grandchild, Sarah?
at 44 only a sick egomaniac would be that irresponsible to have a high risk pregnancy but she had to continue the hoax to get support of religous extremists. Mc pappy had zero chance of securing that segment pre palin.

ReplyDeleteThis morning talk TV stuff is so shallow; it doesn't give anyone any time to give in-depth insight, it's steered towards entertainment and fluff, gossip, and a chance to show off one's high-heeled shoes.
ReplyDeleteA VP presidential candidate that falls disgracefully from highly respected in the conservative movement one season to this act this morning is proof that Sarah never had political gravitas. This proves she'll grab onto anything that places her in the spotlight. If politics was the vehicle, then she was on it; that didn't work out. So, onto the next thing. The SPA reality show vehicle paid off monetarily, but, like Goldilocks, Sarah lost interest in that too. Next, her Fox gig. She doesn't seem satisfied with that either, as she doesn't study the current Republican logistical strategies, and keeps on saying the same thing over and over. She's ready to jump onto any other vehicle, as long as it keeps her employed doing the least amount of effort for the largest sum of cash.
The 'other' side that we saw today is a Sarah who goes from one thing to the other, without a plan, without a vision, or a goal. She hitches onto any wagon that will have her. She has no ambitions. She is driven by emotion, like a child trying this toy and that toy, and losing interest real fast. Seeking and never finding. The Sarah I saw today is one that seeks and seeks for something that is apparent: personal fulfillment. And, her enablers keep using her; she doesn't know where to find personal fulfillment, but keeps believing it's in "things".

ReplyDeleteI don't know how the Palin's are doing personally. I would hope that the kids are ok, although I have my doubts. I haven't seen any recent pictures of Trig in a long time and of the ones I have seen, I can count on one hand the times I have seen him wearing his glasses and hearing aids.
One thing I want to address is your comment, "Your idol is president, despite a lack of accomplishment".
This blatant lie that is spread among some Republicans continues to astonish me. It astonishes me because it is so easily disproved. His accomplishments are a matter of public record that anyone can check.
Do you really believe that he has a "lack of accomplishments."? Or do you just say this hoping that people won't check on it. If it is the former, then you know nothing about this president. If it is the later, then you have proven yourself to be a liar.
The list of accomplishments are staggering for any recent president. The first thing he did was to stabilize the economy that was going into free-fall, he saved the auto industry, then he gave us Universal Health Care. And that was just the beginning.
He brought the war in Iraq to an end. He had Osama Bin Laden killed. He created more private sector jobs in 2010 than was created the entire eight years under Bush. Increased average fuel economy standards from 27.5mpg to 35.5mpg, starting in 2016. Signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. Provided the Department of Veterans Affairs with more than $1.4 billion to improve services to America's Veterans. Ended previous policy of awarding no-bid defense contracts. Ended the previous policy of offering tax benefits to corporations who outsource American jobs; the new policy is to promote in-sourcing to bring jobs back. Closed offshore tax safe havens. Increased pay and benefits for military personnel. Sent envoys to Middle East and other parts of the world that had been neglected for years; reengaging in multilateral and bilateral talks and diplomacy. Ended previous practice of having White House aides rewrite scientific and environmental rules, regulations, and reports. Limited salaries of senior White House aides; cut to $100,000. Signed DADT Repeal Act. Signed a bill offering tax credits to business that hire veterans. Ordered all federal agencies to undertake a study and make recommendations for ways to cut spending.
He accomplished all this and more. And he did it coming into the job where America was fighting two wars and heading toward a second great depression.
He did it with Republican senators filibustering every bill that he worked to pass. Then later, he had to fight a Republican led congress to pass bills to provide jobs and tax relief to middle class Americans.
This man is one of the greatest leaders we have ever had. If you want to see a more complete list of his accomplishments, I'll provide some links. Do yourself a favor, educate yourself.

When ABC announced that Katie Couric would be filling in as co-anchor on Good Morning America, the producers of The Today Show knew they had to do something big to counter-program. And they did! Unfortunately, they did something big and stupid, bringing in unqualified V.P. candidate, half-term Alaska governor and intellectual feather-weight Sarah Palin to co-host. Is this bad, desperate TV? You betcha!
Palin is such a whore. I can't believe she not only brought out the Belmont girls, making sure she wore a too-tight tailored shirt, she ALSO brought out a wardrobe excuse - how many times has she done that?? This just proves she knows how inappropriately she's dressed, she's just trying to keep the Viagra set panting.

ReplyDeletePalin could never find solid footing with Couric. She refused to answer questions directly. She was evasive, combative, even hostile. She continued to look down, as if hoping to pull some answer from the ground. The most widely replayed--and satirized--answer by Palin was her response to a question posed by Couric on the $700 billion stimulus package then before Congress. The way Couric framed it should have been a perfect pitch for Palin's supposed populist sensibilities. Instead she butchered it. Palin's comments on the bailout are remarkable to read in their entirety. There's not a single jump-cut in the response, and the transcript below is verbatim:

We should ask NBC to have her back to show off one of her (claimed) talents - field dressing a moose!! According to her she was Alaska's answer to Annie Oakley, but we soon found out THAT was a lie.
