Okay well now the Obama campaign is getting serious, and putting the BIG DOG into the fight.

President Clinton was the FIRST political candidate that I could not wait to vote for, twice.

He damn near broke my heart with the Monica Lewinsky scandal, but nobody can doubt his political chops and ability to speak to the people.  With him campaigning for Obama the Republicans really have their work cut out for them.

  1. That was Gore’s mistake; he refused to put Clinton out there, even though, as it turns out, he was just as bad; big intellect, big talent, big libido.

Yes, Clinton had some moral lapses, but had he been GOP, they would have been lauded behind closed doors and ignored in public. Cinton was Newt's first attempt to take down Democrats while pretending his own sordid behavior had no bearing on his public service.
In the intervening decades, Clinton has shown himself to be a statesman, a citizen of the world, and a caring man. Retired GOPers?
Just sign up to lobby against the other party, and keep fighting for corporations. Now, people, which party is working for you?

  3. Great ad. It is exactly the kind of ad that the GOP would LOVE to piggyback on, but alas, they can't because they're on the wrong side of this and so many other arguments.

It's always entertaining to see what the Republicans come up with. It's especially funny because I remember in the early days of Obama's presidency and certainly when he was running, the GOP painted him as some pacifist, apologist with no backbone who was weakening our security.

Personally, I think the Dems need to turn it around on them and do an ad about who kept us safer. Bush or Obama?

The Republicans always overlook who was in office when 9/11 occurred. If they can ridiculously accuse President Obama of raising gas prices, then it isn't too much of a stretch to blame Bush for 9/11, since he was nine months into his term when it happened, never mind the fact that he then invaded another country who wasn't involved in any way, shape or form in the terrorist attacks.

I do blame Bush....because he KNEW about the attack before it happened and he did nothing to prevent it.

    2. I've never really accepted that. I do think he knew SOMETHING was going to happen. He could hardly have escaped knowing it, in view of the fact that our intelligence agencies were getting warnings from countries around the world, plus that security report that headlined, "Bin Laden Determined To Attack Within the United States." (Bush's response? "Okay, you've covered your ass.")

But nobody with any major secret plans would have given Bush any real information, or even the keys to the executive washroom. Who could trust a moron like that to keep his mouth shut? He wasn't considered competent to be Baseball Commissioner! No: I've believed for a long time that the administration knew something was going to happen. But that pallid, shocked, what-do-I-do-now expression read to me as though this was much, much bigger than anticipated.

I believe Bush knew something was going to happen. A bomb at an airport or train station, maybe, or someplace like the Statue of Libery. 911 was much bigger than he anticipated, and from what I've read, it was much bigger than bin Laden anticipated- who knew the whole damn buildings would come down? I believe Bush expected a terrorist incident that he could parlay into an attack on Iraq. It was bigger than expected.

And don't forget, at the end of 2001, he remarked that the year had been "better for him and Laura than they'd anticipated." And a few months later, he commented that he doesn't think about bin Laden. At the time he was gearing up to attack Iraq and we'd been in Afghanistan for a few months- and our reason for going into Afghanistan was that they wouldn't surrender bin Laden without out guarantee that he wouldn't be executed! And we watched via satellite when the bin Laden camp escaped as our troops approached Tora Bora and were diverted elsewhere!

No: Bush carries a lot of blame for 911, but mostly because he was agreeable with anything a conservative told him to do.

Even as a conservative, I would vote for Clinton tomorrow. True leader. That's ALL that matters. None of the marginal, personal bs matters. Democrats need to not use a double standard.

I truly wonder what Bill C really thinks about P Obama. We know Hillary deep down doesn't approve. It sucks that people are forced to support a candidate due to no better ones.

  6. This is probably the most important election of our lifetime.

Is America a Third world country or a world leader?

Are we still the same America that built super highways and the Hoover Dam?

Are we going to make American citizens (Yes, that's what MOST low income, or unemployed, or disabled, or elderly, or single parent, or female are - American citizens, not "those people") beg in the streets when they hit hard times?

Do we want to be an America where a child's illness, or an unforeseen accident will drive the majority of citizens into bankruptcy or worse?

Investments in our infrastructure, do require spending and debt - have none of these Republicans ever held a mortgage? They also generate jobs, require the purchasing of materials, which can be bought locally. When American citizens have those jobs, they pay more taxes because they earn more money. And they have more money to spend. Most no longer need government aid - food stamps, etc.

Local businesses prosper as well. The majority of small business owners will tell you the number one thing that will cause them to hire employees is a higher volume of business, NOT another tax deduction.

The current GOP may consider themselves to be good Republicans, but they are horrible Americans.

    Obama/Biden 2012

    PLEASE VOTE!

I was always kind of pissed that Lewinsky got no blame in the BJ. SHE approached the president. SHE lifted her skirt to wiggle her big ass and show off her new thong.

The President took what was offered. He shouldn't have done it. However, he's a man. It's hard to resist an open mouth that wants your penis. He has paid for that act ever since.

The whole world laughed as the President was impeached for a sex act.

Yet all the media could do is talk about how the President took advantage of a 22 year old. I have to put some of the responsibility on the slut. She pursued him and brought shame upon the WH. What happened to her? She became a celebrity selling pocketbooks.

Too bad she was charged with a sex crime. I would have loved to put her on the stand to defend her actions.

    4. Monica told her friends she was going to Washington and bringing her "Presidential kneepads." She's hardly an abused innocent.

President Clinton's mistake wasn't having the affair- take a look at the stats about extramerital sex!- it was not realizing that the rules had changed and anything he did was going to be smeared in the press. Many, many other Presidents have had affairs. I think possibly Lincoln didn't, and that was probably why he was so depressed all the time. Jackson probably didn't because he was already depressed over the death of his beloved wife.

Clinton didn't realize that if he did what many, many other men had done, he'd be disgraced. The rules changed for him. They changed for Hilary too, because there was no right response for her to make. Repugs expect their wives to accept their peccadilloes in silence, or leave. Hilary neither left her husband nor accepted his behavior. I suspect she kicked his ass. At any rate, she was roundly criticized for not leaving him (and if she'd left him, both of them would have been criticized for a failed marriage).

Remember Operation Eagle Claw, for that was the level of risk; I believe the legitimate criticism of President Obama is to say he's cautious to a fault (although in these conditions, that's "a feature, not a bug"), particularly with regard to the economy, but if the payoff is sufficient (in the cited case not so much bin Laden's head as his notebooks) he plainly is unafraid to risk greatly.

This is going to sound wacky but I don't think Hilary wanted to win. Did you read Game Change? I read the excerpts and in the beginning she was hemming and hawing. She like being a senator. She was good at being a senator. She had a reputation for working well with the GOP. She would still be a senator and her career would still be solid. I think she was pressured into running...and felt ambivalent about it...however, once she was in she was in it to win it--because she's a competitive person.

Was there a President of the United States from 2000-2008? Oh right, George W. Bush. Isn't it just amazing that the GOP never speaks about him. He did not speak at their last RNC convention. Probably won't come to their convention this year either. He has not endorsed Willard Romney for the 2012 nomination. He is ashamed to show his face, because he knows, as we all know, that he was a complete and total failure as President. In fact, he was President in title only, he was manipulated and controlled by Dick Cheney and Karl Rove. The ultimate right-wing puppet.

The GOP wants Americans to forget all about George W. Bush. Everything is President Obama's fault. Trying their best to rewrite history. Don't fall for it. Willard Romney is George W. Bush's brother from another mother. They do however, have the same daddy, Karl Rove.

I contend that Karl Rove & Company, and the Right Wing handlers of the GOP, deliberately did not want to win the 2008 Presidential election. That is why they allowed John McCain to win the GOP nomination, and select Ms. Dumbass as his running mate. They knew all to well, how badly they fucked up the economy, and did not want another Republican near the White House, to further illuminate just how badly they mismanaged the country over the past 8 years. They wanted no accountability for their errors, so old man McCain and his harlot, became the sacrificial lambs.

History now shows, that their real strategy all along, was to capture the House and Senate in 2010. They already had bought the Supreme Court, so their mission was to block all of President Obama's initiatives, and blame him for their failures, to enhance their chances of reclaiming the White House in 2012. So now that are putting all of their chips on Willard. The 2nd coming of George W. Bush, the perfect puppet. These are some evil despicable bastards. We all better WAKE UP soon.

They both wanted the glory, and to show their daddies that they could get into office, too. President Clinton got into office with his superior brain power (too bad about the lapse with Lewinsky). President Obama is also intellectually gifted. Both can relate to regular people, neither had a rich father. I wonder why the truly gifted, highly intelligent politicians are all Democratic????

    By Chris Mooney, Washington Post:

There’s now a large body of evidence showing that those who opt for the political left and those who opt for the political right tend to process information in divergent ways and to differ on any number of psychological traits.

Perhaps most important, liberals consistently score higher on a personality measure called “openness to experience,” one of the “Big Five” personality traits, which are easily assessed through standard questionnaires. That means liberals tend to be the kind of people who want to try new things, including new music, books, restaurants and vacation spots — and new ideas.

“Open people everywhere tend to have more liberal values,” said psychologist Robert McCrae, who conducted voluminous studies on personality while at the National Institute on Aging at the National Institutes of Health.

Conservatives, in contrast, tend to be less open — less exploratory, less in need of change — and more “conscientious,” a trait that indicates they appreciate order and structure in their lives. This gels nicely with the standard definition of conservatism as resistance to change — in the famous words of William F. Buckley Jr., a desire to stand “athwart history, yelling ‘Stop!’ ”

    You know what?

Grow up - Clinton was NOT the first President to get a blow job in the White House.

Clinton was not the bad guy in that deal - the Republicans were. Before that, Presidential indiscretions were off-limits and everybody knew it.

But you had Newt the slime-bag - a guy that was at the time getting his own blow-jobs from Callista - a guy low enough to throw away about 200 years of gentleman's agreement that the President's affairs were off-limits.

    M. Lewinsky - the most famous cocksucker in the history of the US.

Miss Lewinsky signaled in the White House corridors that she was available, according to Newsweek magazine. She used her blue White House pass to hang around the Roosevelt Room near the Oval Office so often that her superior warned
her off. Once, she was sent home to change her clothes when she came to work in an excessively revealing, low-cut white dress.

17 years later, poor Miss Lewinsky cries because she can't get a date. Former HS peers and college friends agree that Monica got what she wanted - fame and her name in lights. Some suspect that she made up the entire BJ and masturbating with a cigar to gain fame.

Maybe she should open a cigar shop.

That doesn't sound like she meant anything to him other than a mistake that he was trying to let down gently because he realized she was nuts and he didn't want her to go ballistic. Good lord, Marilyn Monroe was more discreet about seeing JFK! Saving a stained dress? Sending it to her mother? Having her mother KEEP it- and her mother actually DOING SO? That's way across the line of normal behavior. It made Monica and her mother look like Real Housewives.

The ONLY reason the Lewinsky BJ became famous is because she couldn't stop bragging about it.

Her goal was to expose the relationship hoping that BC would divorce his wife.

She said, “There will never be another man in my life that could make me as happy as he did”.

She didn't realize that her mouth was merely a convenient receptacle. The trash can would have been a better choice.

Don Reisinger, a student in Albany, told Ms. Rosenbloom: “When I think of the word slut, I think of a woman who has been around the block more times than my dad’s Chevy. I might date a slut, but I certainly wouldn’t marry one.”

Personally, I feel she is borderline retarded.

Have you ever been around big time (or even small time) sports, the music/entertainment business, or yes, politics? The guys are surrounded by groupies who the slightest suggestion would be happy to drop to their knees, and often do. Some of the guys take advantage of their "opportunities". Many women are enormously attracted to men who are powerful, wealthy, famous, good looking, charismatic and empathetic. I have been astonished at the seemingly conservative women who at the wink of an eye will bed with an athlete or musician they just met.
