Joe Biden luvs "teh gays." |
Asked on “Meet the Press” Sunday if his views on gay marriage had “evolved,” which is the word the president has used to describe his own thinking, Biden spoke forcefully about his own position.
“I am vice president of the United States of America. The president sets the policy. I am absolutely comfortable with the fact that men marrying men, women marrying women, and heterosexual men and women marrying another are entitled to the same exact rights, all the civil rights, all the civil liberties. And quite frankly, I don’t see much of a distinction beyond that,” Biden said.
Sort of a no-brainer, unless of course you are saddled with the irrational brain of a Right Winger, or Fundamentalist, or homophobe.
Do you like how I suggested that there was any difference between the three?
I spell it 'kindasorta' ~ as one word.
ReplyDeleteIt covers so much...
OT, But John McCain Said on "This Week" this morning that his main consideration in picking Palin was that she was ready to be president if something happened to him:
ReplyDelete"The absolute, most important aspect is, if something happened to him, would that person be well qualified to take that place?” said McCain. “I happen to believe that was the primary factor in my decision in 2008. And I know it will be Mitt’s.”
The old geezer has clearly gone 'round the bend.
The sleazy old codger is still trying to protect his reputation. Though I cannot just fault him, his wealthy family as had that way of thinking since Nam. A poor pitiful shell of a person and nothing more.
DeleteThat's hillarious!
DeleteHomophone? (or homophobe?)
ReplyDeleteMe thinks McCain is off his meds! He didn't even know her, for gawd's sake. How could he possibly think a Mayor of a small town, and a 2-year governor of a state with fewer citizens than most big cities could possibly step into his shoes? unless, of course, he felt that she was as well qualified as he -- which is to say, not at all.....
ReplyDeleteAs a very progressive liberal democrat( and proud of it) while I do think gay marriage is a civil rights matter and is very important, I do think that saving our economy from the GWB depression has to be first and foremost with this admin.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping if the economy continues to recover that it can be dealt with in the next democratic term,
The worst case scenerio is that it has to wait until the Clinton/Warren or Warren/Clinton 2016 to 2020.
I realize that many impacted by CIVIL RIGHTS that are being trampled on.
But as a biracial American whose parents HAD to marry in Canada( and my mother cried at my wedding because I was able to be married in the USA), please be patient, if the GOP gets the house back it will easily add 20 or 30 yrs.
I have your back , as do millions of other Americans, hang in there.
Little Rabbit
I like Joe Biden and I think he has been a marvelous vice president.
