Republicans constantly claim that President Obama can't run on his record. Somebody forgot to tell him that.

That seems to me to a pretty damn impressive list of accomplishments to me.

I guess being an armchair politician is kind of like being a leader, except with no responsibilities, accountability or transparency. Or record of accomplishment. Or the will to dress appropriately. Or put in the homework to be a pundent. - SarahPAC

And all of this against the tide of Fox, Rush, a recalcitrant Congress, tv punditry, racism, attack ads, and non-stop criticism for his every move. It's stunningly impressive. And even with Simple Sarah spewing her frustrations, he still keeps moving forward. I am so proud that he is my president.

Well, Gryphen, the Wall Street Journal's James Taranto has some very, very, very exceedingly no good horrible awfully bad news for President Obama: "People are starting to notice he has no class." OUCH!!! The good news, of course, is that the only people who think our president has no class are people who themselves have no class. And so it goes...

That comment was pure veiled racism. President Obama has plenty of "class," if by "class" you mean intelligence, integrity, kindness, empathy and many other good virtues that are all but totally absent from 99% of Republicans.

An aunt I'm pretty close to reminded me of something that's been taught in my family: no human being should ever judge another person's family, marriage or parenting. Is that not something that should be recognized by all?

This came up when we were discussing the gossipy nature of the country.

None of that shit matters, at all.

What matters to us (or what should matter) is leadership, motive and intention.

People say they'd vote for President Clinton again in a heartbeat so obviously personal lives don't matter. Why hold your opponents to a different standard? There's never been a bad candidate or something who would reap havoc on the country. The President is that powerful. all candidates are the same personally. They all have back stories and families and lives. There are lies told about all of them out of ignorance or hate or stupidity.

It's time to grow up and start thinking like a responsible person. None of that matters in the voting booth.

So if you know that someone is a liar and a cheat, you'll vote for them anyway? And if the media doesn't report that she is a liar and a cheat, what happens when the person is elected? It matters to me that Newt cheated on two different wives and then was vicious enough to attack Clinton for an affair that had nothing to do with his duties. Clinton had moral issues, true, but he was never hypocrite enough to go after someone else. AND he has spent the ensuing years helping people all over the world. I can't name one GOPer out of ofice who has done anything for society. They become lobbyists and scam the people, trying to get or keep the GOP in power. How much money is wasted on stupid ads and PACS that do nothing good? Think what a million dollars could do for your school system..just one million. Then think what Republicans spend on PACS. Disgusting.

    The Bin Laden Freakout

...It couldn’t be more hilarious, watching these Republicans rend their garments over the Obama administration’s bin Laden video. Imaging the paroxysms we’d have been forced to endure if George W. Bush had iced the dreaded one is all we need to do to understand how hypocritical it all is. But what obviously gets under Republicans’ skin is not the fact of this video’s existence, but the fact that Barack Obama got him and they didn’t, which destroys their assumption of the past decade that they are “the 9/11 party.” And more than that—and this is the real story here—it’s the fact that the Democrats don’t appear to be afraid of the Republicans anymore. That, to Republicans, is what’s truly unacceptable.

Latest Attempt To Deny Obama Credit For Bin Laden Raid Falls Flat

Conservative media figures are suggesting that a recently released memo from Leon Panetta shows that President Obama doesn't deserve credit for ordering the raid on Osama bin Laden's compound in Pakistan. In fact, the memo fits the previously reported timeline of the decision to raid the compound and confirms Obama's role in making that decision.

How the GOP Became a Party of Whiners Over Osama

Republicans love to act like tough guys. Yet it’s the Democrat in the White House who got bin Laden—and the GOP that’s throwing a temper tantrum about a modest Obama ad.

Never underestimate the brilliant strategies of our president. He will win every time.

How Obama Suckered Romney into His Bin Laden Trap

Mitt Romney fell into President Obama’s trap on Osama Bin Laden, and now the president has closed the noose and made the Republican nominee appear weak on national security.

The Obama campaign set Mitt Romney up days ago by releasing a video of former President Bill Clinton praising President Obama’s decision to go get Bin Laden.

The video was perfect bait. It featured a Democrat claiming to be tough on national security, Barack Obama doing something that almost every American agrees with, and Bill Clinton. (Republicans have an odd relationship with former President Clinton. They pathologically loathe the man, yet they are irresistibly drawn to everything he says and does).

The bait was on the hook, and sure enough, Mitt Romney couldn’t resist taking it. In a rebuttal to the video Romney said, “Even Jimmy Carter would have given that order.” As the Obama campaign already knew, Jimmy Carter may have given that order, but Mitt Romney was already on record saying that he wouldn’t.

Back in 2007, Romney criticized Obama for saying that he would go in to Pakistan to get Bin Laden, “I do not concur in the words of Barack Obama in a plan to enter an ally of ours. I don’t think those kinds of comments help in this effort to draw more friends to our effort.” Months earlier Romney also said, “It’s not worth moving heaven and earth, spending billions of dollars just trying to catch one person.”

Romney totally walked into the setup, and at a press conference Obama closed the deal without even mentioning him by name,

Wasn't that brilliant? I had copied the link as well. President Obama knows his opponent well and I have no doubt the bait was on purpose. Add to that his appearance in Afghanistan, speaking of peace and thanking the troops, while Romney ran to NYC to politicize OBL's death while rehashing the war.

There really is no end to the bottom-less pit of Republican hypocrisy. It's perfectly fine to call Obama a socialist, communist, freedom-hating terrorist/illegal immigrant, but for him to question Romney's ability to make tough calls on national security as Commander in Chief is waaaaaay off-limits and disappointing. Republicans have a long and illustrious history of ignoring facts in favor of their own, incredibly limited view on reality, but it's reached an entirely new level when raising an issue on national security during a presidential election is labeled as a "campaign pivot" away from the economy.

And by the way Mittens... we're still waiting for your explanation on that Swiss Bank Account. You know... that thing people only set up when they want to intentionally conceal income from the IRS.

The day after President Obama and our wonderful Navy Seals took care of the Bin Laden problem, Republicans were tripping over each other to get to the TV cameras........Condeleeza Rice, Dick Cheney, Lindsay Graham, John McCain, were all flapping their mouths. And, since I do have a good memory, guess what they were all saying???? That President Obama could NOT have done this without the prior intelligence work of the Bush adminstration!

These people, like my 3 year old grandson, have an obsessive need to always be the center of attention.Let's be very clear. President Obama worked on this quietly from the time he was elected. He made a very tough choice in going into Pakistan and he deserves FULL credit for every damn moment. The Republicans have become a sick parody of the bully in the schoolyard. And, truthfully, there are a lot of their own party who are just fed up with them. My dear friends and neighbors, who have voted Republican their whole lives, tell me this party is just too mean-spirited to support this election. So, they are WHINING (again, another poor behavior) because Obama is taking credit for something he accomplished.............Must be tough because with this wonderful Republican controlled House, we've had our credit rating lowered, attempts to cut funding to Planned Parenthood and Public Television, and a lot of standing in front of cameras...........Whining or saying our lack of governing is all "Obama's" fault!!!! That whole thing about taking personal responsibility for both our success and our failures just isn't something they practice.....but they sure do preach to the poor and the disadvantaged about it, don't they?

Take a victory lap, Mr, President. You earned it. Putting up with these whiners and bullies alone gives you every reason to celebrate the one thing you didn't have to negotiate with this impotent Congress.

The Bush-Cheney regime failed in the war on terrorism while multiplying America's enemies a thousand-fold. According to the FBI, Al Qaida was made up of about 250 members on 911. Today, there are still around that number scattered throughout Pakistan, Yemen, Iraq, etc. though, thanks to the Obama Administration their leadership has been destroyed and more Al Qaida members killed than under eight years of Bush-Cheney.

Remember, Al Qaida, our actually 911 enemy, has made up less than five percent of US enemy combatants in Afghanistand and Iraq. The Bush Administration played into the hands of Bin Laden and Al Qaida by invading two soverign nations neither of which invaded America based upon lies, deception and oil greed.

The Obama Administration ended the Iraq War, which had no Al Qaida members before the war despite the Bush-Cheney lies, and has redirected the war in Afghanistan which was largely neglected by the draft-dodging neo-con-artists. Republicans, like Romney, even today want to keep these senseless wars going to continue their massive war profiteering whose 435-plus, GOP-approved war profiteers posted $60 billion in waste, fraud, and abuse while failing in their nation-building. You do not hear inspector Rep. Issa going after the military contractor billions wasted, no calls to cut their $60 billion-plus, Reagan-era to present, unnecessary, unproven, SDI-spinoff anti-ballistic missile systems, or recovering all their "bridge to nowhere" GOP pork do you?

Republicans are the warmongers and war profiteers who like Romney love those government-created-jobs and defense (offense really) contracts; yet, like Romney, were serial draft dodgers and never serve in the military--the one career area not used by the rich, one-percent.

Republicans have nothing to offer and are desperate to trump up any issue. Notice they never mention GW Bush's phony flight-suited stunt aboard an aircraft carrier set up for a costly photo op of "Mission Accomplished." Of course, it was particularly a joke since Bush received a sweetheart, draft-dodging, Texas Air National Guard berth that he washed out of during his coke-snorting, party period and despite the multiple, dishonorable cover-ups, GW Bush never completed his six-year ANG committment. Check out Texas Monthly this May that reviewed all the cover-ups and distorted facts if you dare.

Bottom-line, the Obama Administartion has succeeded in foreign policy where the Bush-Cheney Administration was a disaster. No amount of GOP spin will change the facts.

Let Romney run on his platform of 'job creator'!! He's campaigning that he was proud of his economic record and job creation record in MA -- Really??? He's really going there?? Dumbass but knock yourself out!!! How proud to be 47th in the nation!!! The only ones that did worse? Ohio, Michigan and Louisiana. In other words, two rustbelt states and another that lost its biggest city to a hurricane.

He was so successful at it that as Governor he ran the State of MA up the list from the 30's to 47th in the nation in job growth during his four years as governor. He claims that his average of 15,000 jobs were created a year when he was Massachusetts' governor.

The Massachusetts jobs growth over that period, a pitiful 0.9 percent, badly lagged other high-skill, high-wage, knowledge economy states like New York (2.7 percent), California (4.7 percent) and North Carolina (7.6 percent).

    The national average: 5.3 percent.

Remember -- this was prior to the massive economic collapse. The prior recession to his taking office was 2001. He was MA Gov 2003 to 2007 -- 2 years after and therefore in recovery mode -- and during those Rethug years that the Bush cuts for the rich 'job creators' were the best thing since sliced bread.

Bush ran his whole 2004 campaign on fear mongering and using and abusing 9/11.

Guiliani from 9/11 to today's date still uses and abuses 9/11. He only got into the Rethug Presidential field by way of running as 'America's Mayor' which I never believed 10 minutes after he spoke the first time on 9/11. In fact, I blame Guiliani in many ways for many of the deaths along with the terrorists -- I refer to him as the 21st terrorist as there were 19 and plus 1 missed his flight. He made no improvements and in fact made it worse by way of not improving the systems required by the first responders for a massive city of high rise structures/buildings. The lack of radio frequencies/capabilities in the City meant the first responders in many cases of fires in those super high structures meant they had no radio contact. Guiliani did fuck all to address the issue and was fully aware of the problem.

Personally - I would have held the door on him so he couldn't get out of a burning building. Fry you bastard.
