Republicans celebrate bad jobs report for June while THEIR obstructionism continues to keep the economy from recovering.

The June jobs report came out and showed an increase of only 80,000 new jobs.

Of course the Republicans were already in their sprinter's position in the hopes it would be a disappointing report and wasted no time in going on the attack.

Here was Mitt Romney's response.

"This kick in the gut has got to end."

I am guessing that one of Romney's staff told him he needed to speak in more graphic language in order to convey passion and frustration.  Well done Mittens.

But hey do you know what should REALLY be identified as "a kick in the gut" to the American people?  How about the fact that the reason the economy has not recovered and that the job situation has not improved is because the Republicans have been doing EVERYTHING in their power to keep them from improving!

Here are five ways the Republicans have sabotaged job growth courtesy of Think Progress:

1. Filibustering the American Jobs Act. Last October, Senate Republicans killed a jobs bill proposed by President Obama that would have pumped $447 billion into the economy. Multiple economic analysts predicted the bill would add around two million jobs and hailed it as defense against a double-dip recession. The Congressional Budget Office also scored it as a net deficit reducer over ten years, and the American public supported the bill.

2. Stonewalling monetary stimulus. The Federal Reserve can do enormous good for a depressed economy through more aggressive monetary stimulus, and by tolerating a temporarily higher level of inflation. But with everything from Ron Paul’s anti-inflationary crusade to Rick Perry threatening to lynch Chairman Ben Bernanke, Republicans have browbeaten the Fed into not going down this path. Most damagingly, the GOP repeatedly held up President Obama’s nominations to the Federal Reserve Board during the critical months of the recession, leaving the board without the institutional clout it needed to help the economy.

3. Threatening a debt default. Even though the country didn’t actually hit its debt ceiling last summer, the Republican threat to default on the United States’ outstanding obligations was sufficient to spook financial markets and do real damage to the economy.

4. Cutting discretionary spending in the debt ceiling deal. The deal the GOP extracted as the price for avoiding default imposed around $900 billion in cuts over ten years. It included $30.5 billion in discretionary cuts in 2012 alone, costing the country 0.3 percent in economic growth and 323,000 jobs, according to estimates from the Economic Policy Institute. Starting in 2013, the deal will trigger another $1.2 trillion in cuts over ten years.

5. Cutting discretionary spending in the budget deal. While not as cataclysmic as the debt ceiling brinksmanship, Republicans also threatened a shutdown of the government in early 2011 if cuts were not made to that year’s budget. The deal they struck with the White House cut $38 billion from food stamps, health, education, law enforcement, and low-income programs among others, while sparing defense almost entirely.

So the next time you hear some Right Wing asshole going on and on about how President Obama did not keep his promise to fix the economy, and should be replaced by somebody who can, you just remind them that if it wasn't for the assholes that HE and his buddies helped to get elected, and the damage that the LAST Republican president did to the economy,  this country would be doing quite well right now.

Honestly the ONLY way to fix our dire situation is to replace as many Republicans as possible in the House and Senate, and clear the path to allow this President to do the job that we are about to reelect him to do.

Republican governors have done their part to slow the economy, too! Lots of job cuts in the public sector. Wasn't there a jobs report that came out in 2011 that showed a net loss of jobs for the month because so many new Republican governors were shedding jobs???

Terrific post! We need to get the facts out there as often and as loudly as possible. Maybe something will sink into these thick skulls and change some bent minds. I pray so! Romney is not the answer...just a bigger part of the problem.

Slightly OT, but as weeks go by and Mitt changes his poorly sung tune daily, on every single issue, I realize that I am really looking forward to the debates. Many people pay no attention to politics. They are busy living their lives. My son, who is very up to date on liberal issues, was unaware that dear sweet innocent Bristol even had another (failing) TV show. So I'm sure he isn't paying any attention to Mittens and his lies. So the debates will be where people can compare an intelligent, calm, dedicated leader of the people, to a spoiled, entitled, uber-wealthy son of wealth who cares only about himself and the next million dollar donation . Should be a great time.

      New campaign slogan:

I'm Mitt Romney. I'm ready to give your country back to you and I'm White.

I'm Mitt Romney and I approve of this message.

Sadly, you nailed it! There are still many racists out there although they scream that they are not and try to say we will just try to play the race card. If you go online and really research what is out there, you can see the vicious racist sites and how much they hate our President just because he is the wrong color according to them. LOTS of hatred and ignorance, and we all need to try to speak out about this. This is unAmerican, and it will do nothing but tear the USA down. We ALL will suffer for it if they succeed!

    What you said. Bravo!

It's incredible that half the country still don't see this. Or they do see it, and are in complete denial because they are loyal to the republican cause, or they are of the 1%, or they have no worries, or they are listening to some kind of dog whistle, like, "ignore the fluff I'm dishing out, just don't elect the Kenyan man back in the White House".

    Country First? My unexceptional ass.

They want us to vote a man who'll take our country back alright, back to the Bush days that brought us into this mess. The job creators had three tax cuts to work with, but didn't do it when the opportunity was given to them - and won't do it just to make the sitting POTUS look bad.

The bankers and securities scumbags live like king's for all the bail-outs and golden parachutes available for their high-risk/high-reward behavior.

We all know why they don't want Obama for another term, it comes down to race and money.

I don't understand why there is a 'race' issue w/President Obama. Isn't he both black and white? Why don't they focus on his white side - then he matches them!

Pay attention at the voting booth in November folks!!! Vote the Republicans OUT on all levels of government!

The "race" issue has nothing to do with the fact that President Obama happens to be "half white, half black" at all. President Obama self identifies himself as an "African American", and we all should respect that.

The "race issue" has to do with "racists" who loathe the idea of any person who isn't the same as every other President in History (black, latino, Native American, Asian etc).

The "racists" who think he's half White, also think he denies that part of his heritage and denies all whites, which anyone who's read his books or heard his speech on Race knows is a lie.

This "half and half" meme has seriously got to stop.

I've come to the conclusion that Romney has decided to take the Sarah Palin approach to politics and is trying to get into office not on any qualifications or merit, but playing to fear and hate of Obama. Like Sarah, he doesn't offer any actual plans for anything - just keeps pointing fingers at Obama and stirring up fear and hate, he just uses less incendiary language. Mitt condemns the ACA but offers no Republican alternative. The President's immigration reform is wrong but offers no solution of his own. What are Mitt's policy stances on anything? Even Mitt doesn't know. When even Bill Kristol (the ORIGINAL Palin panty-sniffer) says Romney has to start presenting some actual policies, it means even the Republicans are starting to notice.

Neither Mitt nor Sarah are qualified for the presidency but both feel a sense of entitlement to the position. They both seem to have the same level of expertise in foreign policy and I'll bet Mitt is just as much of an energy expert as Sarah. They are both psychopaths. The only difference is Sarah has some charisma and could at least attract a crowd but no one likes Mitt no matter how he is served up.

Why didn't Mitt have a couple of violins playing during his dramatic (trying to be) tear-jerker act?

He says there's a lot of misery in America today with the unemployment numbers because so many were dropped out of the workforce or are working part-time jobs........that is a part of it, but what he fails to understand is that a lot of middle class workers who are employed still struggle.

If college rates keep going up, if interest on college rates double, if adult children are denied family health insurance coverage until the age of 26 (which now thankfully is in place, (which a Romney administration would have prevented), if Republicans sabotage every kind of progress that alleviates financial worry from the middle class, what is Mitt complaining about? His own have tried everything to prevent any and all relief from the middle class. And there are so many worries to choose from.

Poor Mitt. He can't relate to the middle class. He can't understand that up until now the middle class have been subjected to health insurance denials for their pre-existing health conditions. Some are totally broke from that experience. His little speech just doesn't reach out to them. And, it's not just unemployment that affects the middle class. It's the stress and duress and worry of the EMPLOYED middle class that hope and pray they won't wake up tomorrow with a disease that will wipe them out of the savings, finances, home. Or if one of their children get sick, that they will be able to afford the best surgeons, the best treatments. It's the worry of knowing that if some unexpected accident happens, or some natural disaster hits, or life happens, that tomorrow they won't have a safety net whatsoever to pull them through.

Mitt and Ann don't have to worry about money. Whatever comes their way, they have the financial means to take care of the situation. Frantic worry is not an option for them. So, really, they DO NOT understand the many facets of what the middle class go through on a daily basis.

And not just the middle class, but the many returning military personnel who are in need of a lot of support, and not just the employment kind. They too, have families, and have the added stress of trying to adjust to life back home, many have injuries, loss of limbs, psychological stress, etc.

The Romneys don't have a clue as to what it's like NOT to be dependent on their Cayman Island account. When he speaks, there's no conviction, or empathy; he repeats soundbytes from his puppet masters on what they think voters want to hear, and even they(of the 1%) can't understand. It's so evident what comes out of Mitt's mouth.

Well, do not forget that Mitt is unemployed also, too!! He said that to a group of unemployed people at one stop. What an ass he is. If he DOES debate President Obama, maybe Mrs. Rmoney can stand next to him, in case the President tries to "kill" her husband? That is what she is claiming. I just e-mailed the VFW Post in Las Vegas, to protest them having Rmoney at their convention at the end of this month. I asked if they were aware that he dodged the draft and when asked if any of his 5 sons had served in uniform, he replied "They are serving their country by helping ME get into the WH." I told them it is too bad so many service people gave their lives, or limbs for this country, when all they needed to do was to help Rmoney get into the WH. What a phony this man is.

    Thanks for this post.

This is also so representative of the tea in state legislatures. The Minnesota tea majority in the legislature basically has said, muck the economy, let's work on such important ALEC and other Kochian, Rovian, trickle down b.s. as two constitutional amendments on the ballot this fall.

One about keeping marriage inequality. The other is the tea paranoia about requiring photo ID for voting.

When the MN Secretary of State proposed a safe, more effective and cheaper proposal, both to implement and actually do over the course to time, the tea legislature nixed it because it wasn't their GOP/tea proposal.

The tea GOP hates when the Democrats can do something more effective and save money in the process:

    http://www.theuptake.org/2012/02/19/possible-solution-to-voter-photo-id-deadlock/

I'm also waiting for one tea elected person to say they pulled their own family member or relative off of Medicare or Social Security or any other government program.

If these programs are that evil, let the tea prove that their family members or relatives can get buy without any of that big government socialized nanny welfare state benefits.

Of course, this is more IOKIYAR. Their rules, along with their ought to be more laws, never apply to them. Like the USA taliban and their pick and choose bible buffet, it's just everyone else who should do everything in the bible, or else.

Same with the tea when it comes to government programs, anyone else benefiting from them is bad, yet when the tea, their corporations are people my friends, and the 1% puppets pulling their strings get anything from government, it's all good. USA, USA, USA. Everyone else though, pull themselves up by their own bootstraps, just like the GOP/tea never does other than by getting into elected office and steering things to go just their way, for their own benefit.

If the Democrats were politically smart at electioneering, (which we know to not be the case),
lists like these would be printed on credit card sized cards to be passed out at all political events, especially Rethuglikans. Imagine if the same way they printed up decks of playing cards during the Iraq war. Instead of faces of Saddam's henchmen the faces and obstructionism of Rethuglikan legislators were printed on them instead. It's not to late to pass on the suggestion.

Apalling, but this is the strategy they are using, and how many people in America will buy it? If people are not watching these guys and thinking for themselves, then they will not vote intelligently. This is what the RETHUGLICANS are depending on. That people are too uninformed and dumb that they will be sucked into all the garbage and spin they put out there. Too bad, because if Romney was ever elected POTUS, then the middle and poor classes would quickly find out just how deceived they have been. Romney is all out for the Ryan budget, that not only guts Medicare, but has been analyzed and proven to actually result to ADD to the deficit.

Of course the Rethugs celebrate these figures, because they absolutely put party instead of country. What gets me is, HOW do these unAmerican and despicable politicians manage to keep getting away with it all? Rethugs in several states are enacting laws that will suppress voters (proven already as to how it would impact Democrat votes).

Unless all the American people wise up to what is REALLY going on, then we will ALL be the losers on November 6 if Romney manages to get elected POTUS!!!

Try not to show how elated you are about this report Mitt, after all, you have got to keep up your phony image that tries to actually make middle and poor class people THINK that you are concerned for them. You don't even have a clue about what these people go through everyday just to survive and look out for their families. You not only don't have a clue, but YOU DON'T EVEN BEGIN TO CARE!!

Millions of dollars are coming in to support Romney's campaign - millions from the very wealthiest because they know that Mitt will totally look out for THEM! He is their PUPPET and they will totally control him. God forbid if this despicable man ever gets into the White House!!!
