Rush Limbaugh goes off his meds as he accuses makers of the new Batman movie of a liberal plot by naming villain after Bain Capital. WTF?

"I am addicted to prescription pain medication"--Rush Limbaugh, in 2003.
Okay so the giant fleshy lump of stupidity has REALLY outdone himself this time.

Yesterday the living representation of Jabba the Hut, said the following according to Business Insider:

"Do you think that it is accidental that the name of the really vicious fire breathing four eyed whatever it is villain in this movie is named Bain [sic]?" (Actually the character is named "Bane.")

"This movie, the audience is gonna be huge. A lot of people are gonna see the movie, and it's a lot of brain-dead people, entertainment, the pop culture crowd, and they're gonna hear Bane in the movie and they're gonna associate Bain. The thought is that when they start paying attention to the campaign later in the year, and Obama and the Democrats keep talking about Bain, Romney and Bain, that these people will think back to the Batman movie, "Oh, yeah, I know who that is." (laughing) There are some people who think it'll work. Others think you're really underestimating the American people to think that will work."

I know, right?

I mean how simple minded, and brain damaged, do you have to be to think that a movie which first advertised its main bad guy back in May of 2011, had simply had the precognitive abilities to foresee that Mitt Romney would be the nominee, and that his work with Bain Capital would be a problem for the candidate the EXACT same tie that this movie made its debut? (By the way the character was first introduced in the Knightfall" story arc back in 1993. Coincidentally a full year BEFORE Mittens first decided to enter politics.)

Of course this whole thing is ridiculous, but it is made even MORE ridiculous by the fact that the two creators of Bane are two of the few conservatives even in the comic book field:

“The idea that there’s some kind of liberal agenda behind the use of Bane in the new movie is silly,” Dixon told ComicBook.com. “I refuted this within hours of the article in the Washington Examiner suggesting that Bane would be tied to Bain Capital and Mitt Romney appearing. Bane was created by me and Graham Nolan and we are lifelong conservatives and as far from left-wing mouthpieces as you are likely to find in comics.”

Look I know that the Right Wing idiots are in a blind panic right now as they are watching their chosen GOP candidate (That virtually NONE of them really wanted!) get his ass handed to him time and time again.  But THIS kind of bizarre conspiracy theory just makes them all seem like they are out of their freaking minds.  And THAT can't be true about them, can it?

Personally I have NO idea how any of them could ever have believed that this Batman villain had ANYTHING to do with Mitt Romney.

Do you?

If you follow these putzes line of logic it makes sense (to them). Through an elaborate conspiracy, someone planted President Obama's notice of birth in the Hawaii newspaper 46 years ago, so he could become president of the United States. Back in 1993, an elaborate conspiracy against Romney was hatched by making up a "Bane" character in Batman so that in 2012 while Mitt was running for president, the blockbuster movie would be released right when the Bain controversy started! It's so obvious. (major eye roll)

    A Conspiracy So Immense ...

... Hollywood, shrewdly anticipating a Romney run in 2012, seeded the Bane character in a Batman movie in 1997. Or so Limbaugh seems to think. Even Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger was in on the scheme - he was in the awful movie.

Limbaugh: Batman Is A Democratic Plot

Rush reaches new levels of foam-flecked paranoia:

The villain in the Dark Knight Rises is named Bane. B-A-N-E. What is the name of the venture capital firm that Romney ran, and around which there's now this make-believe controversy? Bain. The movie has been in the works for a long time, the release date's been known, summer 2012 for a long time. Do you think that it is accidental, that the name of the really vicious, fire-breathing, four-eyed, whatever-it-is villain in this movie is named Bane?

    Adam Serwer's mouth drops:

Some context for the non-nerds: Bane the Batman villain was originally introduced by DC Comics as part of a story arc that involves Batman being harried to exhaustion by having to deal with a rash of escaped supervillains...

    The Kitchen Sink: More Desperation

A Romney aide tells Buzzfeed's McKay Coppins:

"[Romney] has said Obama's a nice fellow, he's just in over his head," the adviser said. "But I think the governor himself believes this latest round of attacks that have impugned his integrity and accused him of being a felon go so far beyond that pale that he's really disappointed. He believes it's time to vet the president. He really hasn't been vetted; McCain didn't do it."

Hence, the coming kitchen sink campaign. But where in the world do conservatives get this idea? It's a fantasy that enables them to continue to blame the liberal media for Barack Obama's elevation.

But look. McCain did vet him. And Palin did it. And Hillary did it. And yes, even the media did it. Why have you heard of Rev. Wright and Andrew Reszko? You read about them in the media, that's how. Reporters dug hard into the Reszko story about the home purchase, but no smoking gun was found.

How many people are going to care that Obama did "a little blow, when [he] could afford it." as he puts it in his first book? I just don't think that many. The guy is the president. He's been there for four years. He's not a friend of terrorists (far from it). Bill Ayres is not the secretary of education, and Al Sharpton is not the attorney general. An incumbent is a known quantity.

Now, if the Romney people have some game-changing info on Reszko or something, that's another matter. Maybe they do. But it would have to be awfully explosive material. As always, they confuse the intensity of their base on these questions with the views of middle America, which remain quite favorable toward Obama on a personal level. I can visualize ads with frightening music and images that ask, "How much do you really know about Barack Obama?" To which most people will likely answer, unless what follows is a serious stunner: "Oh, enough."

Romney is a just a whiny boy. What he doesn't understand, because of the weird morality of the world he lives in, is that when you pull stunts like telling the world you left a job without revealing it was only a leave of absence, and you say you did no work but continued to make piles of money, and you don't see why it's a problem, you have impugned your own integrity. No one else need do it for you.

    --
MSNBC Looks Back At Romney’s 1994 Comments About Blind Trusts: ‘An Age-Old Ruse’

Mitt Romney shared his thought about blind trusts being, as he put, an “age-old ruse.” Jansing played a clip of Romney’s comments, which he had made during his senatorial run against Ted Kennedy.

“You can always tell the blind trust what it can and cannot do,” Romney had said. “You can give a blind trust rules.”

Will that have a negative impact on the candidate, she wondered, given that he’s said a portion of his financial holdings are in a blind trust over which he has no control?

GOP strategist John Brabender said the comments certainly put Romney in a spot to have his words used against him, but that he would do well to “get back on the high ground” and back to “running a visionary campaign,” adding that Obama excels at this sort of “guerrilla warfare”-type campaign attacks.

Democratic strategist Chris Kofinis later said that the issue of taxes and of Romney’s time at Bain point to his credibility and his character and are thus more than simply “gutter politics” as some — namely Senator John McCain — have labeled them.

    http://www.mediaite.com/tv/chris-jansing-looks-back-at-romneys-1994-comments-about-blind-trusts-an-age-old-ruse/

And McCain knows all about gutter politicians since he still has a big old hardon for one of the most famous ones, Wasilla Wonder Sarah Paylin.

Now THIS is a great article, even if it's on HP. It really spells out how much the GOP are hating their candidate. Here's just a sampling...

..."Look back at our 2008 primaries," he said. "Who did all the other candidates dislike? Romney. Look at this year. Who did all the other candidates dislike? Romney. No one wants Obama to win, but no one likes the guy who is running against him."

Republican leaders, especially conservatives, see Romney as a malleable, cynical power-grabber without principle or compass. They warned voters that Romney would be unable to take the fight to Obama on health care because he had fostered a similar program as governor of Massachusetts, and they argued that a wealthy, well-connected son of privilege was not a good spokesman for selling free-market ideas to the middle-class.

Over the last week, a disparate array of Republican and conservative leaders have called on Romney to do what he is clearly loathe to do: release several years if not a decade or more of his federal tax returns. It is an unspoken form of payback.

The list is not only a veritable who's who of the party, but a not-so-subtle roster of people who opposed Romney for the presidential nomination. That they have not fallen in line behind Romney's stonewalling is a telling sign.

The reason that this "Bain/Bane" issue is a tender nerve for Rush, the reason he is so protective of Bane, er Bain, is because Bain owns Rush (since July 2008) and pays his 40 million dollar a year salary. And, of course, Mitt still has a financial interest in Bain, so in a way, Mitt owns Rush (and Glenn, Hannity, Savage...), or at least the stations that syndicate their radio shows. Shouldn't these conservative radio guys be disclosing this close relationship that they have with Bain?

Bullies often are pretty wimpy and Mittens is no exception. Karma is kicking his ass right now, only he had NO idea it was coming, he is that arrogant.

    Mitt Romney's Wimp Factor

...Last Friday, as the Bain controversy took center stage, Romney hastily arranged five interviews with networks and major cable stations to respond to questions about his Bain tenure and why he won’t release more tax information. Romney didn’t have anything new to say—he repeated his refusal to release more than the two years’ worth of tax returns he’d already promised—and instead wound up demanding an apology from President Obama, whose campaign, he claimed, had impugned his integrity. Once more, Romney was shut down.

Each of these moves has a certain logic behind it. Romney can’t afford for voters to see him as having profited from outsourcing American jobs. Nor can he be seen as having run Bain between 1999-2002 because his defense against the outsourcing charge rests on his claim that he was gone by then. And having made up his mind not to release more tax returns—but feeling compelled to go on television Friday anyway—Romney instead attempted the political equivalent of an NBA player flopping to catch the ref’s attention and draw a charge by demanding that Obama apologize for the mean things said about him.

But Romney failed in each of these instances and now looks ineffectual. As Josh Marshall notes, “the Obama camp has backed Romney into a position in which he looks ridiculous—something much more lethal for presidential candidates than most people appreciate.” David Frum adds that on policy matters, “at every point, Romney has surrendered to the fringe of his party.” The danger for Romney is that voters won’t parse these episodes but will instead conclude, based on their overall impression of his squealing and inability to get results, that Romney is a wimp. This is a charge that famously dogged another establishment Republican:

I don't know if this has been touched on, but one of the older Batman movies had a villian named Bane. It was Batman and Robin. Way before this idiot decided to run for POTUS.

Gryph, in the older Batman movie the one with Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy, Bane is her henchman. So, I guess back in the early 90s, the Democrats knew that Bain would be an issue in the 2012 election...
oh this is just too stupid to even make fun of...

The Dems knew way back then because they had a prepublication copy of the Mayan predictions for 2012.

Which, by the way, really is coming true -- 2012 will be the end of Romney.

      Thank God!

I think I would rather have the end of the world, via the Mayans, than watch Romney and the GOP destroy it before our eyes.

Gryphen, I'm not one to complain and I rarely say anything negative here, but please think twice before posting full-frontal pics of that disgusting, cabbage-headed, fat pig. Some people are eating when they read your blog. (tho, we've all discovered the hard way it's not a good idea to watch Sarah Silverman videos an hour before, during or for an hour after meals. Lesson learned, I say. Lesson learned.)

Every morning I wake up and think "Today... today... please let it be today that the Mother Ship comes and takes this Teavangelical Lunatic Right-Wing Fringe group back to its home planet".

They are SUCH an EMBARRASSMENT to our country -- my forehead is constantly red from all the facepalms. I thought Bush was bad enough, but I do believe they've outdone him. Oh, they don't have the power Bush had, but they make up for it in doubling down on the crazy.

I don't know how the name "Bain" came into being for Mitt Romney but "bane" is defined as "1. (poetic) fatal injury or ruin. 2. A cause of death, destruction, or ruin. 3. A deadly poison." It comes from Old English and meant "slayer, cause of death or destruction, ruin." These definitions are rom "The American Heritage Dictionary." "Bane" sounds like a good name for the bad guy in a Batman movie. Was the name "Bain" chosen by Mitt and company because of what it sounds like? It seems like Mitt and Bain have caused all sorts or wrack and ruin over the years, except to Mitt's pocketbook.

    From The Atlantic
"Sununu's trademark bluster follows a famously undisciplined career as White House chief of staff under President George H.W. Bush, a job he left under fire in 1991 after such memorable stunts as taking a military jet for a trip to the dentist and a taxpayer-funded limousine to attend an auction of rare stamps."

    Memorable Stunts????

This is the exact kind of hypocrisy that makes my blood boil. These people use and abuse their stature at the expense of the tax payer and then turn around and scream about debt and entitlements!!!

And all this time here *I* was thinking how transparently freudian it was for an amoral job-killing equity firm to name itself after a Batman villain...
