McCain damns Romney's VP pick by comparing it favorably to HIS pick of Sarah Palin. Ouch, that has to hurt!

"Give us a moment won't you sweetie? Mommy is earning her place on the ticket."
Courtesy of the National Journal:

Choosing Ryan was "a pretty bold choice," McCain said, just like his pick of Sarah Palin. "I am still proud of my running mate," McCain, R-Az., said on Fox News Sunday. "I am proud of Sarah and her family."
Yeah you  keep telling yourself that old man.

Reporter E.J Dionne points out the problem with so-called "bold choices:"

But Romney’s need to make such a bold choice is also a sign of weakness. Candidates confident in their position don’t go for boldness. They make a choice for balance, or to carry a state, or that reinforces their own persona.

THAT I think is the real message that Romney's pick of Ryan sends. He was under incredible assault from the Obama  campaign, to the point that he was literally begging them to stop bringing up his ties to Bain Capital.

Picking Ryan is HIS Hail Mary pass, just like picking Sarah Palin was McCain's.

And we all know how well THAT turned out!

      Suggestive? Naw...

John reached tenderly toward her boob and after fondling it momentarily, he felt a sudden stiffness coming over him. Stiff as in frozen. Over his entire body. He couldn't move.

Sarah, thinking quickly on her feet as always, decided to sound-check the mic, "Well hello Piper-diaper, I didn't expect to see you down here, also, too."

Exactly WHAT does Sarah have on John McCain? He continues to act as her hostage, never criticizing her in the least. It's so curious because he is exactly the kind of guy who tends to blame others for his stunning inadequacies. For me, he is the antithesis of "straight talk" or, for that matter, bravery.

Simple answer. John McCain can never say that he chose a person that actually would not have put "America First." John McCain may be a weak man personally, but he could not stand for his public persona of war hero and patriot to be impugned.

He knows Palin was a nightmare. He knows he put the country at risk. He knows he put a person into a potential power position whose husband was a secessionist. He knows about all the lies now and probably knew too many then.

At the end of the campaign he told the truth when he said he would not endorse Palin as president---which is what he did in essence when he picked her for his VP. But voices whispered in his ear how this would make him look in history. He'd look like a weak, foolish old man who was so desperate to win he put an insane woman within reach of the presidency. Now he is stuck with her. He has no other out.

    2. I don't think it's a matter of her having any dirt on him, it's more likely that he will not admit to being wrong. I've been watching him for years (since 2000, hated what Rove did to him in SC) and I haven't seen or heard of any instance where he admitted he was wrong. I could be mistaken, but, if he did, I would bet my life that is was quietly done. Admitting he was wrong about his VP pick could not be done quietly so it ain't gonna happen.

McCain had a reputation of being a 'maverick' but that was all talk and hype. He may have stated bold opinions outside the realm of the GOP, but when you examine his voting record, he always voted straight party line. Maverick, my ass.

Sarah is holding hostage from John McCain what little legacy John thinks he can still maintain as a great, patriotic American who put his "Country First".

He's a stubborn old cuss, who would rather die than admit his biggest career mistake, thereby further marring his family's once great Military name.

We all know that MSM is calling and writing Sarah and begging her to acquiesce to an interview from the viewpoint of a once-VP candidate.

While she's smirking in arrogance that they all want a piece of her again, but she's still to ascairt to be confronted with rill questions, I'd love or them to ask her if she finally knows, just what it is exactly, does a VP do?

And then I'd love for them to ask her that if 90% of the Leftist Media just reported lies and distortions about her and her family, why does she think she can make a difference 'protecting' Paul Ryan when she isn't even his Mama Grizzly?

"White Girls politicking, that's that Sarah Palin."

Sarah AND her family? What an odd thing to say.

She dragged them in, pushed them in front of the camera's and crowds, and shoved them down our throats from the moment she walked on a national stage - and then became outraged when we noticed, and the Little Shop of Horrors kept delving new and hideous facts about that Whiskey Tango family.

If they had hearts of gold, that'd be one thing, but a nasty, self-conscious yet entitled low-down gang of thugs does not a First Family make.

John is trying to show that he's a man of conviction who stands by his decisions, good or bad. At least he's not blaming her for the cluster-fuck that she's proven herself to be. On the other hand, John is not exactly practicing his self-avowed "Straight Talk", either.

John just wants to maintain the little dignity that he realizes he has left, and for him, loyalty ranks higher than honesty.

We've seen too many instances in the last 100+ years when a vice president became president, or might have, to fool around with the choice for who will be on the ticket:

    McKinley assassinated = Theo. Roosevelt
Woodrow Wilson's stroke = hidden from public view
Warren Harding dies in office = Calvin Coolidge
Franklin Roosevelt dies in office = Harry Truman
Dwight Eisenhower = several heart attacks
John Kennedy assassinated = LB Johnson
Richard Nixon resigns, but only after replacing Spiro Agnew, a crook, with Gerald Ford
    Ford = two assassination attempts
Ronald Reagan = assassination attempt, then possible dementia
    Bill Clinton = impeachment
Geo. Bush = puppet for Dick Cheney; nearly choked on pretzel but saved by his dog.
Barack Obama = constant death threats, but backed up by a 40-year veteran of the Senate, Joe Biden.

So, McCain picked Sarah Palin -- who was and is clearly not capable of serving as the leader of our nation. And Romney picks 42-year-old Paul Ryan who has no experience outside of Washington, no foreign policy credentials, who, until he threw her under the bus, was a member of the Ayn Rand cult (and cult it is).
Presidential? No, not by any stretch of the imagination.

So -- it's not just the top of the ticket that matters. Paul Ryan is not capable of leading our country.

I respected Obama for choosing a VP who had experience in areas he lacked (foreign policy) and who he believed would be honest with him.

McCain has proven over and over exactly what kind of "hero" he really is, just look at his voting record when it comes to supporting our troops/vets. I read extensively about his life during 2008 and he is worse than Robme, marrying ultra rich trophy wife allowed him to be a life long politician. It was clear he flunked out in the military which was his family heritage, so his only alternative for power was government. Palin is his legacy and just like in the movie, he is afraid she will turn on him...he can never admit that horrible mistake as Steve Schmidt and Nicole Wallace have. The worry about Palin: Disney made an amazing animated movie out of what happens when you diss Maleficent

    1. Anonymous7:24 AM

Maleficent is a fictional character and the main antagonist in Walt Disney's 1959 film Sleeping Beauty. She is the self-proclaimed "Mistress of All Evil" who, after not being invited to the baby's christening, curses the infant Princess Aurora to "prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die" before the sun sets on her sixteenth birthday. The character is Disney's half-dragon adaptation of the wicked fairy godmother from the original fairy tale.

Maleficent is often viewed as the most powerful and sinister of the Disney Villains, frequently acting as their leader in many crossovers, and her scenes in the climax of the film are among the darkest and most intense produced by Disney.[1] In Ultimate Disney's top 30 Disney Villains countdown, Maleficent ranked #1.[2] She also plays a major role in the Kingdom Hearts series, as a recurring villain.

I wonder how much contrast we will see with these candidates compared to Palin running as the base Brady Bunch dragging her children on the campaign trail. I consider the strategy of candidates who have their own families.

I hope the current candidates won't put their children in the position Todd and SP did. A truly protective parent would ensure as much normalacy, not lie about their kids drawing establishing facts twisted as attacks. Choosing a low profile for
offspring, especially young children is what first and formost parents do even if they are in the spotlight for their job.

Palin used her kids as a shield and exploited them to promote her self. Then laid blame for harm elsewhere. It is understandable why Piper lashed out deceived reporters ruined the family vacation she was conned of. The older sibs believe it is their mom is a star. In the big picture the parents lie to whatever advantage and plot all to their goal. Famous people do not play chase me, compete for attention with rivals, pull publicity stunts etc. For a family vacation.

As long as those kids are brainwashed their mother is the only person who is honest they are disadvantaged.

I watched Oprah interviewing the Kardasians and in laws. They are nothing like the Palins inside. The Kardashians come across as authentic interviewed.

OT - It looks like Kristy or a stalker like her has set up a new fan page for the Palins. It has a lot of pictures of Trig with Sarah. Seems to me that whoever set this page up has been reading IM for awhile & has read comments about Sarah not being seen with Trig.

      It's probably Kristy.

After all, she is obsessed with the Palins in a very dysfunctional way. She's crazy. Someone should tell the Palins attorney. As much as I dislike the Palins, stalkers are very scary

  38. After 14 years in congress....14 years...Paul Ryans ONLY accomplishments are:

1: He had a post office renamed in his district

2: he had a 24 cent tax removed from arrow shafts ,so now the people in his district just pay sales tax for their arrows...for bow and arrow hunting.

These are his 2 legislative accomplishments in ~~14 YEARS~~~

His tax PROPOSAL has been the ONLY thing to draw attention to him because it is so outrageous.

It adds TRILLIONS to the national debt and doesn't balance the budget for ~~~28~~~YEARS!!

It twas based on Ayn Rand's views, whom he touted as the person from whom his tax plan was inspired.

Paul Ryan was FORCED by his church, the Catholic faith, to DENOUNCE Ayn Rand because her views were completely opposed to Catholicism.

In other words..you cannot be a part of the Catholic faith while you espouse Ayn Rand.

Further to that, the council of Bishops and nuns across the country have denounced his proposed tax plan in it's entirety.

The cuts made to seniors and those living on the margins of society, while at the same time heaping MORE tax cuts on the wealthy are in diametric opposition to the Catholic faith.

The faith that Ryan claims to adhere to.

In a nutshell his tax plan would devastate seniors, the middle class and the poor, it would give HUGE tax cuts to the wealthy...(for instance Romney would pay 0.82% on his $20 MILLION income)....while at the same time add TRILLIONS to the national debt and not balance the budget for 28 years.

McCain is correct ....Paul Ryan IS another Sarah Palin...no real accomplishments and an intellectual failure.

Since Paul Ryan is a bow and arrow hunter, he benefited from that tax cut.

My favorite lines is, "But to say that you can understand what it's like to be in the military by shooting a gun and swimming with heavy gear is like saying you can understand what it's like to have cancer by shaving your head."

I just saw an article that said Nobel laureates were asking NBC to cancel this program without airing it. They think it trivializes war, and makes war seem like a competition, or game.

I think they are right. They could honor soldiers more by making sure they have what they need when they are serving, or when they get home.

My closest friend's daughter is friends with Paul Ryan and his family. Their children went to the same Montessori private school, they belong to the same country club, exchange Christmas cards... (She is a Democrat - but has never brought up politics with Ryan or his wife). The ONLY positive thing I can report about him is that his children are sweet and he is an attentive dad (when he's in Janesville).

From all reports Piper is NOT the cute little girl she use to be! She's a brat from what is coming out of the Valley.

The media is trying to make nice the fact that Palin wasn't picked to speak at the convention. Shit, even Michelle Bachman and Newt Gingrich were invited and both are going to give separate seminars. It's obvious they (Romney/Ryan and the Republican party) know how stupid idiot Palin is and how detrimental she is to all of them.

HP has an article up about Brissy's "supposed" post about Ryan. The comments are not flattering at all. She might better have a change of heart about DWTS. Couldn't happen to a more deserving family!!!

In the second part of the Charlie Gibson interview, Sarah Palin said, "I would NEVER presume to know God's Will", but she has repeatedly said, "its God's will" for her to run, for her to quit, for her not to run, for her not to speak....
good lord, this woman is pathetic and a liar.

True to life in SP world, she is not a mothering mother. Pathetic. Where were all the pictures of Down syndrome and mother the past 4 years?! Just a few, and the stupids all believed she gave birth to the DSyndrome kid that is ignored. The past 4 years of nothing about Tripp/Trig is the truth all, she doesn't care a rat about that little kid. It shows and has been the last 4 years wake up. LIke everything else she won't speak at convention. She is fake.

    PICTURE CAPTION:

Piper: Mommy how did you become the vice president nominee? How did you get lazy Bristol on DWTS twice? How did you get girly daddy on Stars Earn Stripes? How did you get dumbass Willow into Hair School? Mommy how did you get them to put me into the next school grade when I don't know simple Math?

Sarah: Okay Piper, I'l show you one last time. Pay attention and watch very closely. Education and knowledge is not the key to success. It is how you do this without using any teeth. Now watch how happy mommy takes dictation and makes John McCain happy. They don't call mommy "Juicy" for nothin'!

One of crazies4palin was talking about how Paul Ryan had "dissed" Sarah... TWICE!

And how did he "diss" her?

He attended the premiere of Game Change, and he didn't throw a hissy fit at her critics after the Tuscon shooting.

Seriously. He has his own blog*.

Clearly, John is suffering from old timer's disease, yet he still knows not to look down, his "enthusiasm" for Sarah might be diminished.

Picking the "Bold" choice doesn't work, Ryan and Palin are almost becoming interchangeable

Our President, on the other hand, knew exactly whom to choose. Biden complements him well without taking attention away from the fact that President Obama is the commander in chief.

There's too much wrong with the Ryan plan, how can Romney possibly distance himself from it, when he refuses to admit that Obamacare worked so well in his State, but would fail under a Romney Presidency.

We're not that stupid, trickle down only works when Palinbots get wee wee'd up.
