Perhaps the Republicans should have considered the layout of their convention a little more carefully. Update: Picture is photoshopped.

Courtesy of Happy Place:

When Republicans devised their brilliant plan to shame the Obama administration by mounting this massive debt clock above the convention, they probably should've taken a second to consider the giant, ubiquitous catchphrase unfortunately placed right beneath it. If this is the kind of foresight Republicans bring to the table, it's no wonder Bush left us with two wars and a huge round of tax cuts we had no way to pay for. The only person who should be suffering a "job crisis" right now is whoever thought this juxtaposition was a good idea. Maybe Romney should fire him. We hear he's pretty good at that.

So what do you think? Is this the result of some mole within the convention center playing a prank, or just another example of the stupidity which oozes through the very veins of the GOP?

Update: Apparently the folks at Buzzfeed discovered that his photo AS photoshopped.

Oh well both of these signs WERE up at the same time in the same convention. So though they weren't up right next to each other, they WERE ironically on display which clearly inspired somebody to combine them in the photo above.

But hey, do you know what WASN'T photoshopped? Clint Eastwood arguing with an empty chair, which you can now see up above this post.

I love that more than I can say. And yes, I think it's just their stupidity.

The regressives have very little self awareness, and their grasp of humor and irony is tenuous at best.

Perhaps the Republicans should have considered the choice of their 2008 VP nominee a little more carefully.

    Stupidity.

Stupidity so great they probably STILL don't get what we see.

It was put up by the people who thought Clint Eastwood would be a surprise "star," and who had Ann Romney say "I'm going to talk about love," followed by Chris Christie saying he was going to talk about respect, not love. And followed up the next night by lie after lie by Paul Ryan.

Many more examples extant. This half-hearted convention didn't even try the minimum. The whole thing was luke-warm, like its candiates.

Some SATIRE to start the morning off...

As the age of insanity rolls along, lying has reached a new level in political activism. Apparently, you can lie freely now. Lying is allowed. On any subject. And there is no shame to the lie. So I decided to talk to Dr. R.H. Flutes, head of the Lying Institute of America, to explain the lying epidemic that has been sweeping this country.

Q: What did you think were some of the lying highlights of the convention?

DR. I thought there was something truly exhilarating to watch a packed arena of 30 or 40 thousand people cheering the idea of having their healthcare taken away. They were so convinced by all the lies about healthcare that everyone in the arena was willing to give up all healthcare protection. It was a wonderful sight to see. And here's the best part: the lies were so well constructed, that you didn't even have to offer an alternative health care plan. Just the idea of not having healthcare was enough to bring the people to their feet. That was a A+ on the lying chart. Almost brought tears of joy to my eyes.

The psychology is to lie to create a fictional villian whom the liar casts his or her self as a superhero to stop the evil one constructed from their evil atrocities manufactured.

Facts from the media are distorted as evil also and evil doers aiding and abetting the evil one. Truth and honesty is no longer a value in our culture. Nor is problem solving a value. Dramas of comic superheros and villians is what the majority lust for.

Wow. Gryphen, you ask really tough questions. But as my great-great-great grandfather Colonel Cyrus Egregio Conehead, US Army Mule Corps, ret. used to say "You'll rarely lose money betting on the Republicans to ooze."

Now that's something I hadn't thought of. If he did, that was a pretty brave and total lack of ego sacrifice, to allow everyone to think of Dirty Harry as a doddering, incoherent old man.

If it wasn't, then the exploitation of a doddering old man is a real low on the part of the TeTHUGlicans.

And yes, this is a BOTH/AND possibility.

I reflected on their theme We Built This which Is a stab targeting Obama for something he did not say. It is one of Obama's strengths that he represents the American dream despite disadvantages of being black and raised by a single parent when his father left.

We Built This is a stolen theme that twisted what Obama said to their advantage and twisted it to demonize Obama. Do not trust nor believe anyine when their convention is a house of lies. There is no foundation and a hidden agenda when they get power.

Those two signs are stupidity. Stupidity reigned above sense at this convention.

Ryan is emphasizing Romney is a man of "integrity". I must be the Easter Bunny.

    Photoshop noted.

IMO responsibility is widespread for the debt to prevent a major depression from debt ignored until on the verge of a great depression.

Mitt wants us to applaud the financial succes of lenders, real estate agents who agreed to lie to get more profit, and applaud those who profited selling bad paper around the world. I get it Mitt: it is the patriot who amasses fortunes causing loss and financial ruin to others. Mitt will pardon Madoff and give him a cabinet position. Mitt and Ryan will reward rapists who rape women when they are fertile for pregnant victim is a slut and a liar.

Photoshopped or not, this convention will go down as one of the biggest fiascoes of all time. They had to condense it to three days, They parade a bunch of yahoo's barely mentioning the candidate and jockeying for their spot in the next cycle, then they show propaganda film showing Romney's humanity, and they put their candidate on at 10:30, AFTER Rubio holding his spot open for next election, and Clint Eastwood and an empty chair.
