The final death throes of Sarah Palin's once meteroric political careeer.

Courtesy of KCRG News: ]

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A group called The Earthquake Movement is responsible for a series of Cedar Rapids billboard ads supporting Sarah Palin for the Republican presidential nomination.

An electronic billboard near The Ar-Jay Center on Council Street NE has recently been displaying a series of four advertisements involving Sarah Palin. None of the ads actually contain Palin's image, but include messages like, "Nominate Sarah Palin for President," and "Sudden and Relentless Reform - Delegates are Unbound," as well as "Palin 2012" and "Sarah Palin Supporters Unite."

According to an email from a representative of The Earthquake Movement, the group has sent informational packets to delegates around the country, asking them to be one of the five required majority state delegations needed to nominate Palin in the first round of voting at the Republican National Convention. The packets also ask for delegates to nominate Palin in the second round if presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney does not receive the required number of delegates in the first round.

The Earthquake Movement has also distributed information on Palin's "record, accomplishments and why we think she is the person who can excite the base and defeat President Obama in November."

"We are finding a lot of unhappy Republican voters," the email said. "They feel like the RNC is not listening to them and based on voter turn out in the primaries and what we are hearing from Conservative Americans, they want her to emerge from the convention as the nominee. They are also very angry that she was not given a prime time speaking spot at the convention and are wondering if the RNC is attempting to shut her out because her message resonates with so many of us fly-overs. Are they afraid if she speaks prior to the vote or at all, we will have an averted Reagan experience?"

Oh that is just about the saddest, most pathetic thing I have ever seen.

It reminds me of the people who insist that Elvis Presley never died. ("I done seen him at the Piggly Wiggly. The King is alive I tell ya!")

Gee NO wonder the Sea O'Pee has seemed more like a wake held in a mental hospital rather than a information blog these days.

Look Palin-bots come here for a second, let's speak frankly shall we?

Folks it's over, Sarah Palin is no longer relevant.  Even you have to admit that she was kind of crazy and terminally under qualified to be the President of the United States. So you have to come to terms with the fact that she will never be a candidate for anything significant again.

In other words her political career is all but dead.

And I should know, because I helped to kill it.

Have a nice day.

When voting in November all Sarah Palin supporters should give Sarah a write in vote.

If you are unhappy with Mitt (RINO) just write in Sarah Palin as your choice.

    President Obama will thank you.

  2. The funniest or saddest part of the e-mail is this: "because her message resonates." Uh, no it doesn't. She doesn't have a message. She only utters talking points and bitter vitriol aimed at the president. And she doesn't even utter them very well.

    BREAKING NEWS:

The fashion consultant hired by the McCain campaign to dress Sarah jumped from the Golden Gate bridge and is missing.

She left a note indicating the outfits Sarah has worn the last two years had driven her to drink and left her no choice; and the superman shirt was the final straw.

Now you can transform the IM into a UFO-sighting hub. Or a Elvis-sighting site would be cool, too. I'm pretty sure that was him that snarled at me at WalMart last night when I cut him off getting into line. Sorry, Elvis, but I was in a hurry. He was pretty cool with the situation after I explained that I had ice cream in my buggy that I didn't want to melt.

So sad about Sarah. At least she siphoned a few bucks off her fans. That's the least they could do for their quitter queen. Surely they will thInk their money was well spent for all of the good that Sarah did for herself and her family members who signed non-disclosure agreements.

I saw some old movie of Elvis on tour in the 60's, and I'm wondering what the attraction was. He looked bored, the girls were swooning, and they hustled him off the stage in a huge hurry when he was done. He also didn't sing all that well. I was a teen then, and remember him, but yuck.
I bet in 50 years, even the GOP will be saying YUCK when they see clips of the VP wannabe.

According to Sarah's fans, 95% of whom have neither been to Alaska nor could find it on a map that wasn't labeled already, she becomes a more outstanding Governor every time they talk to one another about her. Of course these are the same brainiacs that were picking out drapes for the White House for the Quitter Queen, so reality isn't a prerequisite to tell their "Say-rah sto-ree".

Sarah went from a corrupt crony small-town politico to a self-created myth to a caricature of herself to a punch line in about the same amount of time it takes for one of her grazing fanbots to go through the buffet line at the Country Cookin' Restaurant on fried pork chop night.

What is really sad is that the Sarah fan @ 10:41 obviously believes everything she hears, and is incapable of thinking on her own. This seems to be typical for most of FOX viewers who can parrot what they hear on Fox, but can't back it up. Saying Obama has cut millions from Medicare seems so ridiculous, particularly when you consider Ryan's budget would destroy Medicare. They only hear what they want to hear.

She didn't invest a cent of her own money, never bothered her little brain learning any facts about anything, spent her time curying favor with Mark Burnett so they could scam Alaska out of more cash, and these people think she is worthy of a POTUS nomination? Why, for God's sake? What has she ever done or said that indicates she has an iota of the knowledge, tact and basic good sense needed to run a nation? She hired out her mayor's job, and Toad, the uneducated, ran Alaska for her. Who would it be in the WH? Piper?

Just think, if Sarah had actually listened to GOP advisers, had returned to Alaska and governed effectively, had made an effort to learn national and international policy, and had lived a quiet, professional, respectful life she could actually be the Republican Presidential nominee.

Fortunately for all of us she's a lazy famewhore who couldn't be bothered to do the work that could have brought her back to the GOP Convention without any silly delegate stunts. Now instead of sending out *starbursts* with a convention speech, she and all her plastic parts will posting on facebook about whatever tacky reality show her famewhore family is on, while swallowing the bile of watching Romney & Ryan on the stage that could have been hers. Poor refrigerator, it's going to be in for a rough few weeks.

I stopped feeling sorry for them long ago. The evidence is all around them and has been presented top them numerous times that Palin is not what she was marketed as being. They made a choice not to listen, because they preferred listening to someone spout a message of lies, rage, and hatred. That does not speak well of them.

Or perhaps it was her message of sexual perversion that attracted them? Her focus on men and their impotency, limpness, lack of cojones? Any man who didn't praise her was a rapist or a pedophile? Perhaps they enjoy it when she focuses attention on her young daughters as being sexually attractive to older men?

Her financial reports for SarahPAC are there for all to see. That they would contribute to any entity with such a low percentage of funds going to the purported cause doesn't speak well of them.

I have no doubt Palin will pull a Palin during the convention. Objectively she is not competent enough to be part of the Fox news team assigned to cover the convention. That would require speaking about people running and speaking for the party. Palin has a limited repertoire running PBO down and claiming her superiority in contrast. She degrades people then claims to be the superior opposite. Like Levi is a rapist to make Bristol an abstinent pure virgin. Like claiming junk food is the best parent in the world and veggies are evil parent, taking away your freedoms! Commie Michelle OBama!

Palin's mistake was that she was lured by the siren's call of celebrity, money and fame. If she had stayed in politics and worked with it instead of "going rogue" she would have had a viable political career. Don't laugh. It's true. Our Congress is full of know-nothing, do-nothing, partisan, lobbyist ass-kissing crooks. Sarah could do all of that. I'll bet you can name a dozen without stopping to take a breath. I could start with my own state - Jason Chaffetz - Sarah could cause at least as much obstructionism as that guy.

Paul Ryan is the new Sarah Palin. He, too, will be relegated to softball interviews on Fox because he is just as unknowledgeable as Sarah and can't answer questions either. He has as much international experience and college education as Sarah and less executive experience. Like Sarah, he is only there to keep up the anti-Obama rhetoric. At least Sarah could work a crowd.

The only difference between Paul Ryan and Sarah Palin is that he lacks her charisma. When all of this is over there will be no Paul Ryan fan clubs around but Sarah's supporters will still be there.

I think no matter what Sarah chose to do she would fail because of her stupidity. Even if she had remained governor, studied, stayed away from celebrity, she would still be basically too stupid to not make egregious mistakes. O please, please please, we need to encourage this. So many Republicans(otherwise intelligent people) I know are really close to not voting this year because they are either disgusted or depressed with the presumptive nominee. Sarah Palin being the nominee would secure the Republican non-vote and might even cause a mass exodus from the party.

    2. Yes, I seriously believe Stars Earn Stripes is not helpful to the US or the world. Or to soldiers. Or to the cause of peace. Or to a mature assessment of how a standing army should be trained, deployed and supported and who should serve.

The participants are making millions (they are getting paid) while tossing a few pennies to charities so that, e.g., a few veterans can go halibut fishing. (Todd's choice).

Meanwhile medical care for veterans is delayed or denied and soldiers in combat wind up like the West Point major profiled in the NY Times with permanent brain damage. (He wishes he had lost his limbs.)

Who is he kidding??? Because he VOTED to send people into an illegal war, he has foreign policy? Sort of like seeing Russia from Alaska...

Speaking to Fox News’ Carl Cameron Saturday morning, Republican VP nominee Paul Ryan made the case for why he believes his foreign policy credentials are stronger than President Obama’s, emphasizing that he has been a voting member of Congress longer than the president. Ryan cited his votes in favor of the Iraq War as evidence that he has had more foreign policy experience than Obama.

“I’ve been in Congress for a number of years,” he told Cameron. “That’s more experience than Barack Obama had when he came into office.”

“I voted to send people to war,” he added.

As a congressman, Ryan voted for the 2002 Iraq Resolution which authorized President George W. Bush to use military force in Iraq. He also voted in favor of the Iraq War troop “surge” in 2007.

The VP nominee then went on to make the case for presidential nominee Mitt Romney‘s vision of “peace through strength,” adding that President Obama’s foreign policy has, thus far, failed to accomplish that.

Many in the R/R base are not known for being legendary thinkers. Ryan is trying to convey his creds as a "statesman" like he was debating the war issue on the floor of the Senate against a legenday orator who was in opposition.

Instead, Ryan was voting the way the House Whip told him to on each of George Bush's bills consistently.

But hearing Ryan say this reminds me of Sarah bragging about her "business and job-creating" expertise as well as her "executive" experience. In both cases, Ryan and Palin are puffing up their credentials with words that might be impressive until you actually examine their roles, which were minimal.

  46. Like a previous commenter I also remember this Earthquake idea from some time ago. I am positively thrilled that they are going through with it. The icing on the cake will be if it gets some media traction. I sincerely hope it does because I believe that she will get some pretty negative flack over it.

Folks, anything that she does to reveal her true colors and escalate the obviousness of how petty, jealous and bitter she is, then all the better! It gives the media more chances (and hopefully continues to build the momentum) to discuss her in the context of who she really is. She can't seem to keep the lid on the salad bowl of her mouth which gives me the feeling that she will say or do things that are unhelpful (I'm being kind) to the R/r campaign. The more she needles and embarrasses them the likelier they will be to strike back. And that's a good thing!

Several months ago, I watched some C4Pers create their 'Earthquake' movement in only a couple of days, all through their website comments section. In particular, there was one young woman, still a student, who went by the name 'Jasmine'.

I thought, this is really kind of great...recalling how difficult and time-consuming it was to organize in the anti-war era of the 60's. Here was 21st century grass-roots democracy in action.

But, what they are organizing around? Really?

Here is a comment from earlier today, directed at Jasmine (who seems to not post at C4P much anymore):

"My view is she[Sarah Palin] was always 'too cool for the room, " meaning her power and prestige are so far greater than all the elephants can muster among them that they just couldn't withstand the starkness of the comparison. She was too big and too hot to handle for them, and she's only more so now. She's just plain bigger than they are and we all know it.

And rather than dwelling on why that is or is not fair etc. she's gone beep beep zoom and is down the road making positive use of it. As usual she's left nearly everyone in the dust and is miles ahead of the elephant herd and the yapping packs.

If this girl isn't making lemonade she's making silk purses. She's an inspiration to behold.

The convention issue has only upped her game and underscored her creds as America's cutting edge voice. She neatly followed through with a major and hugely public right hook to the Left's jaw that's still got them stumbling and mumbling. I feel sure this message was not lost on the elephants and their mittmahout. They all know full well that what she does to barky today will make what she does to them from this time forward look tame by comparison. She needs us to understand this, I think, and to be ready for the battle.

She's put the donkey herd in a box canyon and drives the elephant herd into a controlled stampede. It's all about the work for her, eyes forward and pressing on with her head high and scanning the horizon.

So no, other than sign the online petition offered in symbolic support (..sorry I don't have the link, but if you click on Mary Beth House's activity you'll find it easily), it doesn't appear there's anything to be done. The Governor has clearly moved on and I think this is good.

Glad to see ya. Your interest in public affairs is always an encouragement."

Clearly there are huge dichotomies in how 'they' see the world. How will we ever find common ground?

On another vein, is there anything that the IM community could/would rally around and support? One thing, the core C4Pers are evidently mostly home-bound; as I am due to illness. They will slog it out over trivia and perceived insults to them or their 'Queen Esther' for hours. They are infuriatingly uninformed, to my judgement, but also persistent in 'walking their talk' to the extent of their (often limited) resources.

Anyone else have comments on this?

I don't think for the most part we will ever find common ground. It's just who we all are, varied people, varied opinions. But how do you deal with people that think like this:

      "First things first
barry met miss robinson while clerking at a lawyers office. She was a close friend of Bernardine dohrn wive of bill ayes. This was an arranged marriage to further the ones career. they where married by rev(sic) wright ex muslim fraud at trinity church. two girls then appeared somewhat magicaly and we nothing about them other than they do not look like either parent (loners from a relative ? )
all this was done to hide a terrible truth"

There is no dealing with, rationalizing with, or compromising with people that would write or believe the above statement. C4P and other right wing sites are full of them, and Faux and the Gop exploit them.

You helped kill her career. And, that is why I check in with you everyday. There were some days that I thought that she was going to bounce back. But, you kept going and I appreciate it. Given that that you are putting yourself in harms way, and saved me a beaucoup amount of money if I had to move to Canada or Australia, you are my hero.

Its fun to watch them complain about the "leaches" and takers, you know, those on
Medicaid,SS,welfare, etc, then they screw up like "Pete" and start complaining about how no one will hire them, they haven't worked in years, unemployment is not enough money.Guess he is a "leach",after all.

If you get a chance to pass by and take a pic, send it to Jesse. The only way the billboard is a reflection on you or your values is if you helped pay for the ad on the board. Otherwise, it's always nice when dummies come into our city and spend money, too. We certainly accept it cheerfully, but we do lock the doors at night after they're gone.

As my Dad used to say, "Some people have more money than sense, and they'll spend until they're broke proving that to be a fact."

I'm going out on a limb and going to say there's a lot more "Kathys" there than Palinbots. Lots more. Keep Iowa Blue!

    2. Me too, and I can't tell everyone how grateful I am that we are not all being painted with this crazy-people brush. Cedar Rapidians overwhelmingly tend to be kind, thoughtful, hardworking, and sensible. PLEASE don't judge us on these nutballs.

I have a lot of friends who are unemployed--people who had nice salaries and nice homes. And, they whine all of the time and blame the President. All work in different fields but all are united by the fact that 1) they had a hint that things were not going well at their job so they should have been out looking or redefining themselves for the market place; and 2) mortgaged and remortgaged their homes to the hilt to maintain a level of lifestyle that they felt was due to them--now they are underwater. Regardless of who is President, one must take responsibility for how one chooses to live. Oddly, my out-of-work friends, who feel that a certain standard of living is owed to them because they are college graduates and white, are Republicans. I am a Democrat and am doing just fine.

I've shared the same experience. We've always lived below our means, saved for our kid's future, our retirement, and remained in our modest, but paid for, home. My husband lost his job and was fortunate to get a similar job about two months later, but we had a "cushion" to fall back on.
Our house is a home, and our investments are to make our money work for us, and we're not out to impress anyone.
My neighbors and friends all bought bigger houses and kept advising us to follow their lead. Now they're all whining that it's too much land to care for, their bills are too high, their "teaser rates" expired, the market is soft, etc. etc. They don't look happy nor healthy, but it's everyone else's fault.

And many of them are Democrats, to be fair.
