Last post of the day, with some more inspiration from the great Carl Sagan.

The Tarantula Nebula
“Who is more humble? The scientist who looks at the universe with an open mind and accepts whatever the universe has to teach us, or somebody who says everything in this book must be considered the literal truth and never mind the fallibility of all the human beings involved?” ― Carl Sagan

Speaking of humble, did you notice that Sarah put out a picture of the kitchen chair that she uses. You'll notice that it has a strap to hold her in.

    Now that's humble.

    I'd pick the scientist.

  5. I'll avoid the false dilemma and appreciate the irony of Prof. Sagan waxing poetic about humility- a virtue he rarely manifested.

Carl was many things: one of the rare profs who would actually "hang out" IF you could attract his attention (women found this much easier than men), a serious toker with a great place (house on a gorge with a great view of Cayuga) to inhale, and a true enthusiast in his field- but humble....not so much.
