Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Today is the beginning of the Democratic Convention in Charlotte, NC. Hopefully it will draw a more sophisticated crowd than the one that showed up at the Republican's convention in Tampa.
This comes to us courtesy of "Real Time" with Bill Maher.
You might want to be sitting down for this. The stupidity is fairly overwhelming.
I saw Maher Friday night...that whole segment was amazingly stupid. These people haven't a working brain between them. If I hear, "Mitt and Ryan sem like such good men" any more, I may puke on their shoes. This is just code for "Mitt and Paul are white, and they want to protect the innocent." Yeah, right. Ask innocent Trig how well he's being protected by his 'mother.' Ask a hungry poor child how well he's been protected by the GOP. Ask a military woman who's been raped if she feels protected when she is denied the morning after pill. Ask a woman being sued by her rapist for custody and child support how well this GOP is protecting her. This should be the end of the GOP, if the DNC has this week planned well.
Okay, the stupid in that group basically lowered IQs worldwide about five percentage points.
Now I understand why the republicans want to destroy public education. If they can get a whole generation of idiots like these people---they will reign until they completely destroy the country.

Bingo. An uneducated, fearful, and confused electorate is easier to deceive.
I always thought Colbert's over the top proclamations about all the republicans actually hating Romney was mostly satire.
But when the BEST you can come up with is "well, he wears deodorant"- DAMN.
These people must hate Obama SO much. And if Alexandra has asked, I bet none of them could have given a valid, TRUTHFUL reason why President Obama is "bad for America".
I always feel like I need a shower after Alexandra interviews republicans. Excuse me- "teagelicals". (Was that woman reciting the pledge in the middle of the street? Maybe we should set her up on a playdate with Clint Eastwood.)
The sad thing is that I know people like this, and there's absolutely NO changing their, uh, minds, no matter how many facts you present (as we all know). Try convincing a four-year-old that there's no Santa or Easter Bunny. The amazing thing is that they're all pretty much clones of each other, and I can't describe the desperate "look" that they have--some impossible vision that they cling to? Too much Jeebus? Mental deficiency? Reality blinders? All of the above?
Hope this video gets wide play. As someone just commented on HuffPo, do you want smart or stooopid for the future of this country?
It was funny as hell how the one woman didn't know anything about Mormonism and she strikes me as the kind that thinks Catholics eat little protestant children. She is probably on Medicare and will be shocked if someone hands her a voucher. But as long as those men are white--they can destroy her family at will and help to make her grandchildren dumber than she is. I'd feel sorry for them if they didn't have the vote.
.Just heard on Jansing and co. Romney has raised 100,000,000 for the third time in three months, to get elected. These are the same people who will not give little more in taxes, yet will give such ungodly amounts to elect Mitt as president. But I must remember, they are all christins.???? They will be forgiven for their unchristian attitude.
They are also sending their money down a sinkhole - which is nice to contemplate - I don't think Mitt is doing much self funding - he likes his money way too much.
After watching that video, I'm beginning to think that the closer to the equator, the lower the IQ. Caribou Barbie is obviously the stand-out exception to that.......
O/T Just read an old posting at Huff Post. Was directed to an old article at Forbes....good info and commments are worth reading as well. http://www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2012/05/24/who-is-the-smallest-government-spender-since-eisenhower-would-you-believe-its-barack-obama/
Off topic...I have to say that Ann Romney is Mitt's perfect counterpart. She's equally dishonest, is reeking with "entitlement", and has no personality. A match made...somewhere.
Sigh. I commented on this thread on my laptop (I'm on my iPad now) with the same profile and the comment went through awaiting moderation as usual and it ever appeared. This has been happening yo me the last month. Anyone else have this problem?
OT, but you'd be interested in this article: http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/features/2008/04/stiglitz200804?mbid=social_mobile_FBshare&t=The+%243+Trillion+War+%7C+Vanity+Fair M fromMD Vanity Fair: The $3 Trillion War
I saw this and am just dumbfounded at the deeply entrenched stupidity and rabid hatred these wretches espouse. I am so glad I was born inquisitive and encouraged to use my mind. M from MD
The red headed "rocket scientist" reminds me of this lady at our dog park, she's so profoundly proud of her stupidity, that it's her mission in life to convert everyone she meets. I feel sorry for her dog.
I'm watching the DNC, man am I proud of my party, my country, The First Family. What a stark contrast to the clown and pony show in Tampa.
"The party of no" translates as "the party of low-information, one-issue voters."
ReplyDeleteAnd this is American Exceptionalism?
ReplyDeleteGod (or someone) help the rest of the world if this lot get loose.

DeleteWow! I can finally put faces to those people that comment on the Conservatives4Palin site.
ReplyDeleteThey are the same folks that send money to SarahPAC.

Wow. That was. . . wholeheartedly depressing.

When the red-haired Tea-vangelical lady in the video said "No" to education, she obviously meant what she said.

They put their hands over their ears and go “la-la-la, can’t hear you.” My mother was like that.

ReplyDeleteThat was incredibly disturbing. How did we get so many stupid people in this country?
ReplyDeleteI know! In some parts of America, the word "pumpkin" is a noun AND a verb.

What I noticed after seeing this was that Bill Maher didn't even feel the need to make a comment. That video said it all.
